Domaine de Larchey (Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the heart of the Pessac-Léognan vineyards, Domaine de Larchey offers a quieter counterpoint to the grandeur of Bordeaux’s châteaux. The family-run hotel has three categories of individually decorated rooms, two of them adapted for ground-floor access, and a setting that feels deeply tied to the surrounding countryside. Its restaurant, Le 1930, nods to the glamour of its namesake decade with refined southwestern cooking by chef Laurent Boulon. From here, guests are well placed to explore nearby estates, from family domaines to celebrated grands crus classés." - Tablet Hotels

We had an amazing stay at Domain de Larchey, which has been our first stop in a two weeks travel around the Bordeaux area. The hotel was beautiful and clean, the garden was breathtaking. The pool was nice and big with plenty of sun chairs and parasols. The restaurant offered very nice food as well. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway of a nice quite family vacation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room for improvements are: there was very little information given at check-in, for instance restaurant opening hours, how to order drinks to bring by the pool, what services are given at the facility (bike renting). Maybe most serious was that we hadn’t gotten information regarding that the gate closes at a certain hours, and where we could find the code to open the gate (on the key chain). We almost considered climbing over it. Secondly, it would be beneficial with a minibar/fridge in the room, to be able to buy cold beverages all hours. We would definetly recommend the hotel for anyone who wants a quiet getaway!

Very cozy hotel, very warm atmosphere and very kind lady at the reception and at breakfast. Warmly suggested for bike tours, relax, wine tasting. Too bad I was there for work, I will definitely go back again soon. Very good quality for price paid

Stayed here for two nights as a party of 4 adults in two rooms. Location is lovely, though you do really need to drive to make the most of it. Rooms are great, spacious, modern and very clean. Staff are helpful and engaging Restaurant is very good, but has a limited menu Had a great stay, thank you.

Spent the last of four nights in Bordeaux in Domaine De Larchey. The grounds are stunning. The outdoor pool was tranquil with a lovely jacuzzi and shower facility attached: the staff were so friendly and accommodating. 10/10 recommend the 1930 restaurant as well. Amazing stay!

We stayed for one night as a part of a wine tour of the Loire. For a 3 star hotel, this place is excellent, it beats many 4 stars i have stayed in, on terms of facilities. The grounds are stunning with robot lawn movers keeping everything smart. The pool area is clean and comfortable with towels provided. The restaurant Le 1930 was very good too. The rooms are large but I feel would benefit from some updated furniture, but the current furniture does fit to the chateau feel of the property. Parking is free and breakfast is good. The only thing I’d change with breakfast is having to ask for orange juice every time instead of self service, it took time out of the staff’s time to go and squeeze more oranges with every request. It would have been good to see some modern seating set up within the grass area by the pool as it is a very beautiful part of the grounds, I would definitely stay here again and thing the owners have done a fantastic job with this property,

Spent three nights in April of 2024. Fantastic staff, food, building, rooms and park. Strongly recommended. Good location for bicycle tours to some of the great chateaux of Pessac-Léognan as well. Family owned, with the 1930 restaurant serving delicate seasonal dishes.

Dear Marie-Cécil, Overall we had very pleasant stay that we recommend for families, wine lovers or nature enthusiasts who like grand designs. Thank you for having us. Below a short summary of what we liked and why. Pros :) Warm welcome upon arrival by Charlotte (I think - apologies if wrong name). Room was spacious and quirky. Bedding was exceptionally comfortable, one you would expect in 5 star establishments. Night was quiet and morning was pleasant with songs of birds. Lots of flowers and well maintained lawn to enjoy (kudos to the non-stop lawn mower). Horse and donkey nearby, as well as a trampoline for kids to play with. Water fountain was a plus too. Cons :( Temperature of room does not go below 20. For an establishment proning on sustainability, you could offer bigger water bottles that are refillable rather than disposable ones. Closed pool was biggest disappointment, hence only 4 stars, as it was advertised on May 9, 2024 via the official Instagram account.

We spent two wonderful days at Domaine De Larchey in March, 2022. The quality of the beds, rooms, grounds, food and wine were extraordinary, especially when considering the low price. The estate is fun to explore. Beautiful gardens. The restaurant has a serious chef who beautifully serves creative meals. The entire staff gave us sophisticated customer service. Location would be a great base from which to explore the famous wine region around Bordeaux.
