Domaine de Manville, Alpilles Regional Park, Provence, France - Explore & Book

"Nestled between the hills of the Alpilles, on a 100-acre estate surrounded by olive and cypress trees, you’ll find a gorgeous reinvented farmhouse. Some call it a tranquil spa hotel, a place for romantic respite, others a golf resort, some an atmospheric foodie’s retreat. All we know is that once we arrived, we didn’t want to leave. Owners Edith and Patrick worked with heritage architects to design an authentic space that makes you instantly feel at home, imbued with a family spirit, yet is utterly spoiling. Warmth and style radiate from every corner, and there’s a beautiful mix of modern sculpture and traditional French design pieces. The 30 immaculate rooms and suites exemplify unpretentious luxury with crisp bedding, twin sinks, power showers and walk-in wardrobes. There's an additional clutch of contemporary villas which share a lap pool and have long views over the countryside. If that wasn’t enough, this super-chic hotel comes complete with the country’s first eco-certified golf course, a pampering spa, and a restaurant so spectacular that thinking about it makes our stomachs rumble. Oh, and did we mention the vast outdoor pool shaded by cypress trees, the elegant courtyard with fountain, the best cocktail bar in the region, the bistro, the private cinema for cosy winter evenings, and miles of private walking trails bordered by wild flowers? Hello happiness! Highs An exceptional location in the heart of the Alpilles (pine and cypress forests, mountains, olive groves and vineyards) and near the spectacular historic village of Les Baux-de-Provence Provençal paradise for couples; dine a deux in the Michelin-starred restaurant or book a couples massage Children will find heaven, too, with a kids club run from gypsy caravans in the woods, a large pool, and kids menus Courteous, friendly staff who are full of excellent recommendations Sustainability and social responsibility are taken seriously, including the 3-month hospitality training programme for locals and N.African migrants Lows Upscale places mean upscale prices, and breakfast isn't included. Minibars are complimentary however, a nice touch The restaurant is closed Tuesdays and Wednesday but the bistro is open every day You’ll want a car to explore the region properly There can be day trippers visiting the golf course, especially on weekends" - Emily McDonnell

Domaine de Manville (Les Baux de Provence, French Riviera / Provence) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At first blush, traditional Provençal homesteading and a luxe-boutique service mentality might seem diametrically opposed; not so. It takes a special type, though — namely, a family like the Sauts, Edith and Patrick, who have made it their mission to resolve the paradox, as it were. They couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate staging ground: here, in 1908, one Louis-Alexandre Blanc de Manville realized his architectural and agricultural vision with a sprawling farm estate, complete with cypresses, stately plane trees, and a series of grand stone edifices enclosing the requisite central courtyard. More than a century later, the resurrected Domaine de Manville wears that heritage proudly beneath an array of contemporary upgrades." - Tablet Hotels

Loved this hotel in the countryside of France, close to the town of Marseille. Booked through American Express Platinum Fine Hotels and loved the upgraded suite, late check out and room credit. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and we had a private outside area in the gardens. Two onsite restaurants and bar. Golf course and spa. The customer service was exceptional and staff was very warm and pleasant. This hotel is tucked away in the country rural roads and it’s only been opened for 10 years. Would love to go back and stay longer when our schedule.

Domaine de Manville is located in a tranquil setting, with the backdrop of the Chateau de Baux (a Medieval castle) built into the mountain nearby. Every detail in the hotel, bar, rooms is curated to perfection. We arrived weary from visiting so many of Provence's small towns day after day and were so happy to just sink in and be taken care of at DM. Thanks to Ciao Bambino travel agency for the recommendation!!!

We had the pleasure of photgraphing a wedding Domaine de Manville and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to capture the special day beautifully. The grounds of the hotel were impeccably maintained, providing endless photo opportunities for the couple and their guests. The indoor spaces were equally impressive, with elegant decor and plenty of natural light streaming in through large windows. The ceremony was held in the yard surrounded by woderful greenery which se the tone for the whole wedding. The reception space was thoughtfully designed, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere. From the exquisite floral arrangements to the delicious catering, every detail was carefully executed to perfection.

Our third visit to Domaine de Manville and first since Covid. The place is as glorious as ever! We arrived forlorn having had our passports, money, credit cards and phone stolen at Marseilles airport ( Beware: serious gang at work there) but the staff could not have been more accommodating. They helped us through the mess and we were then able to reacquaint ourselves with this small golf hotel perfect for couples who like peace and quiet, wonderful food and ambiance with a Je ne sais quoi! Top marks to the chef who made us kosher fleishik meals. To the concierge who couldn’t be kinder. To Alexandra who took care of us! The golf course has been updated with a new golf bar and restaurant. The pool is as serene as ever with new chairs to sit actually amongst the trees. |We will be back!!! Merci beaucoup. X

We had an amazing experience at the Domaine de Manville. We rented a villa and had tons of room and exclusivity for our family. Jean Luc greeted us with a smile and helped us with unloading, orienting us to the property and making us feel extremely welcome. The whole staff were phenomenal, I spoke only English and there was never an issue, I used google translator when necessary and had no issues. Gael, the Concierge, ensured we had open communication and reservations for dinner each night and plans for the day. The golf course was in excellent shape and we were able to get tee times upon arrival. The Cabane offered great service and an extremely friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend for anyone interested.

Our family stayed for 8 nights at Domaine de Manville. Overall we enjoyed a pleasant stay, but not everything was 100% satisfactory which should be the case if you have booked a 5 Star-Standard at a high end daily room rate.||||Although we parked our car right in front of the reception upon arrival, no one stepped out to greet us (staff was present inside the glazed lobby). Despite the long journey, no welcome drink or refreshment was served during Check-in.||||Throughout our 8 nights stay, not one single time someone from the hotel management/General Manager introduced themselves to us and/or inquired about our well-being. We did not feel any personal touch being extended towards us from the hotel management or its senior staff.||||The breakfast was really disappointing. You cannot score points with the guest only with an oversupply of bakery products (Simple principle: Class instead of mass). Instead, one should rely on diversity and variants), especially with fresh products such as fruits and others; but not 1 daily bowl carrying (not fresh) mixed fruits with the quality of convenience food !||||Daily individual egg dishes are not included in the breakfast rate (€ 35 per 1 adult), which seems disproportionate. The air in the orangery is stuffy and uninviting. The entire service staff speaks only rudimentary English, if at all. We weren't even asked even ONE TIME during our whole stay if we would like to place a 2nd drink order for coffee, tea, or similar. WE had to chase the service staff instead. During breakfast, lunch was set and tablecloths were ironed next to our table (every day!) instead of keeping the lunch arrangements for later while giving priority to the needs of the hotel guests who were having breakfast until the official set time 10:30am, trying to enjoy the "peaceful" courtyard environment.||||Such standards needs to be improved, or the daily room rate has to be reduced in order to lower customer expectations!||||However, our experience in this hotel should not sound too negative. Special thanks go out to the concierge team led by Gaël, who did a great job with great commitment both in the run-up to our trip as well as during our stay.||||With a little bit of fine-tuning here and there, it would remain an attractive choice for a stay in Provence.

Our stay at the Domaine de Manville was nothing short of exceptional. A jewel in Provence with great attention to details; from the refined food offerings to the staff and the amenities on site. It was an all-around wonderful experience and we look forward to staying there again during our next visit in France.

Air conditioning doesn’t work - service was frustrating. Couldn’t get wine at the bar; had to wait to get it from the bistro, told to go to the bistro to get in 15 mins - go in 15 mins and it’s not there but at the bar and it’s warm not cold. Upon our arrival we tried to go to the bistro for dinner and the woman told us no, we had to dine elsewhere. Just felt like there was always a problem - not 5 star service
