5 U.S. Wine Regions That Feel Like France - AFAR

"I find Domaine Drouhin Oregon important historically: started in 1987 by Robert Drouhin and his daughter Véronique of Maison Joseph Drouhin, it helped attract Burgundian vintners to Willamette Valley and set a precedent for producing complex pinot noir and chardonnay reminiscent of Burgundy." - Justin Goldman

Domaine Drouhin was the first stop on our planned day of tasting in the Willamette Valley during an extended weekend stay in Portland. While there was nothing wrong with our visit, nothing particularly wowed us either. The property is very nice, but we arrived just as a morning rain was subsiding, so we didn’t get to experience its full scope. The tasting itself was pleasant, offering a nice sample of their Oregon wines alongside their French estate wines, showcasing the different regions they produce. The tasting price was on par with the other wineries we visited that day. Of the three places we went to, this was the least memorable, though nothing was inherently wrong. If you enjoy French wines, this might be a great spot to visit; otherwise, you might want to explore other options among the many choices in the Willamette Valley.

Google
Beautiful winery with an outdoor patio overlooking the vineyards and mountains. There were many French wines from their sister vineyard on the tasting we had. Some of the Pinots were fuller bodied than I am used to, but still delicious. I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the tasting!

I loved this winery from the moment I arrived and didn’t want to leave to go to the next stop on my wine tour! Sitting on the patio overlooking the beautiful vineyard views was such a relaxing delight. The customized tasting menu, knowledgeable staff, and tasty complimentary nuts and crackers elevated the tasting experience. Sophia, who poured our wines, was the best! She was so kind and gave us the interesting history about how each wine was made. I look forward to visiting again.

First visit. Last minute decision so no surprise that there were no tasting reservations available. Undaunted, we decided to create our own tasting experience via the single glass menu since one of our party is a certified sommelier with the CMS. We appreciated that Ben spoke to us without condescension. He was most hospitable and informative staff member, both able and willing to answer a few questions so we could shape our tasting decisions. He took a few moments when delivering our warm gougères to answer questions about the Caballus, as well as the Zephrine, which contributed helpfully to my decision about which bottle to eventually take home as a gift for a friend. The fermentation area was open to the public.

Google
Amazing experience doing the tasting flight at Domaine Droughin. As others have noted, the location and view are breathtaking, and it was nice to walk around afterwards. The tasting itself was a wonderful experience with our host friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the wine she was pouring and the company history. The wine, as advertised, is a Burgundian take on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and it hits at a very high quality for me. I definitely plan to come back as they release more.

Google
When we arrived for our reserved 1880 collection wine tasting, we were shown to an outside table in the blazing sun. We requested the umbrella to be opened (as all the others around us were) and were told that it had to stay closed because it was going to be windy later. We were offered complimentary crackers and hazelnuts which we accepted. The view is SPECTACULAR and the wine is excellent, however, the sample size was not enough to swallow a dry cracker. We had 6 samples of Oregon vs France wines-they were all delicious. The final cost averaged to $10 per sample and it was not even a mouthful. I LOVED the atmosphere and the wine but I would NOT recommend the tasting due to sample size.

Outstanding Wine Tasting Experience! The Drouhin Oregon Experience with Bryan - Absolutely Phenomenal! Holy Pinot Noir, Batman! What an incredible afternoon at Drouhin Oregon celebrating our friends' wedding anniversary! We signed up for "The Drouhin Oregon Experience" and Bryan delivered an experience that was worth every single sip. From the moment we sat down, Bryan had us laughing and learning in equal measure. This guy doesn't just know wine - he practically IS wine! His passion for the craft was infectious, and his humor kept everyone engaged throughout the entire tasting. We've never learned so much about Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills while simultaneously snort-laughing. The wine was absolutely spectacular. Each pour told a story of the Willamette Valley's unique territory, and Bryan made sure we understood not just what we were tasting, but WHY it tasted that way. The flagship Cuvée Laurène? Chef's kiss - pure liquid poetry in a glass. Bryan's energy was contagious. If you're looking for a wine tasting that's both educational and entertaining, book The Drouhin Oregon Experience with Bryan. Trust me, you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for Oregon wine, a few new favorite bottles, and probably some sore cheeks from smiling so much. Can't wait to come back and hopefully get Bryan again. This man deserves a raise and his own comedy special! Highly recommend! 🍷

Google
We attended a vineyard tour event at Domaine Drouhin earlier this week and loved our experience. Even though it was the hottest day of the summer, they still did what they could to show us the vineyards from a shaded area so no one would get overheated. The wine here was spectacular, as were the views and the service. We will return, hopefully on a cooler day!

Yelp
We three had the 1880 Connections wine tasting experience on a sunny July day; two of us had also visited the previous August and had the same tasting experience. SERVICE: 5.0. The people make Drouhin special. Both times we have visited the server was mature, and was both passionate and knowledgeable about wine. Brian took care of us, providing clear explanations about the wines, and was able to answer our questions. WINE: 5.0. Being able to compare Oregon to Burgundy wines makes the 1880s Connections wine tasting a 5 star experience. It was fun. Without this particular comparison tasting experience, my WINE rating would have been a 4.0. AMBIANCE: 5.0. Outside patio on a sunny day. Though we didn't have great seats, it was nonetheless precious to be perched high with a wonderful view to the East. The narrow, winding (but short) road to the winery reminded us of our road trips in France.

Yelp
An industry friend recommended Domaine Drouhin and it was on our list of wineries to visit so we decided drive two hours through incredibly heavy rains to make the visit. There were no tastings available, but given the weather we had just driven through to get there, and bc my friend is a certified somm with the CMS, we decided simply to create our own tasting experience from the single pour options made available. Other reviewers have also mentioned it, but when we sought input from the staff to make our initial wine selections, our experience of service was underwhelming. It was frankly a little disappointing given the status and caliber of the house. Gratefully we met Ben who was solidly helpful; he appreciative of our Quest to create a meaningful tasting experience for ourselves, even if we had not been able to score an appointment with a venue host. He was very knowledgeable and spoke to with us without condescension, intelligently answering our questions about the vineyards, wine making processes, and house history. With his help we also learned about some excellent options for dining in the area. Ben poured our selection of four wines and we chose to take the glasses outside on the patio as the rain had stopped. We helped another couple with photos they were trying to take, and then were able to film a few tasting clips against the picturesque back drop of the vineyards. We ordered a serving of the gougères, which came out warm and were delicious. I picked up a bottle of the Zeraphine Pinot Noir for the friend who had recommended the winery, and Mac picked up three bottles including the estate chardonnay, to return to Canada with. All in all a solid self-guided tasting and learning experience.

Yelp
Great tour of the facility. Here we were inside. I would have preferred outside but probably due to the size of our group this suited them best. The wine was not for my pallet but that is okay as the next person loved it.

Yelp
Great wine with a great view!! Domaine Drouhin's tasting is a little pricey at $40/person, but their wine is amazing. We had a rosé, a Chardonnay, and 3 Pinot noirs. Our server was great and even poured us a taste of their elusive wait list wine -- Louise! This was a great place to taste Oregon wine

Anna G.

Yelp
Do not recommend. Terrible service, terrible tasting. Pretentious servers yet do not have experience. Did not even get a full glass of wine over a whole tasting.

Yelp
Pros: Absolutely beautiful setting with french country style gardens and incredible views of the valley. Our wine host was eclectic and entertaining. Monty the naughty winery dog. Cons: We did not enjoy the wines as much as at the other wineries we visited. One really solid pinot on our tasting menu, but nothing else really grabbed us. No wine snacks of any kind available for purchase - do not come here hungry. Our wine host did not offer up much information on the winery or their wine making process.

Yelp
Great location and one of the longest tenured wineries in the region. First class tasting experience with personalized table service. My first time in Willamette so had to try the biggest name in the valley since I was short on time. The property had outstanding views and, although it was winter, the vineyards were still very picturesque. Now to the wines. For my taste, all selections seemed to have a bit too much oak. I like it when the fruit can stand alone and allow the terroir to show itself as well. Although the wines were bright and showed a nice mineral characteristic, I felt they were all a little over-oaked for my palate. Oak in wine is like a strong spice in food. If it is over spiced, a dish can lose the complexity of the rest of the meal or entree. That's how I felt with my selections. I was also hoping for an unoaked Chardonnay. More of a Chablis style, but the server said they don't make any like that. The wines were all well made with good acidity, but the oak added a bit too much barrel flavors and tannins. I would rather the tannin come from the skins. Of the flight, the two Roserock vineyard selections showed the most balance. These were my favorites. The Arthur Chardonnay and the Origine Pinot were just too smoky for me. They might be better after a few more years in the cellar. Overall, I would still recommend a visit as many people enjoy this style of Pinot and the service and grounds were excellent!

Yelp
We had a nice time at Domaine Drouhin. Our host Alex was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the wines and ambience.

Neesh S.

Yelp
Overall a great experience. First off, the property is gorgeous and is at that perfect angle where you get a phenomenal view of the entire valley and hills. Staff are super knowledgeable and help explain a rich history of the winery and their European roots. The wines themselves are good across the board and they are super dog-friendly.

Yelp
Originally heard of this place from Joseph drouhin in beaune, France. We loved the Pinot noir there so we knew if we ever went to Oregon, we'd need to come to the sister winery and try it out. The winery is run by the daughter of drouhin which is pretty awesome. The views here are wonderful. We made reservations for a tasting ahead of time and we got seated on the outdoor patio. We chose the tasting that let's you compare the French wine with the local Oregon wine. Can't lie... I still think I prefer the French style more but it was all still delicious! I actually think I might have preferred the starting rose the most.

Vanessa I.

Yelp
Visited Domaine Drouhin due to our sommelier friend's recommendation. Excellent wine, beautiful view and great service. Mike was the person who took care of us. He was great. We did purchase bottles of wine that Mike introduced to us. Friendly place!
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
This is as close to the French wine country as you can get in the Northwest. The tasting experience is completely first class with an excellent description of the history of the family, vines and vintages. The view is one of the best in the valley so relaxing. Then you get to the wine itself outstanding is not giving it enough credit. My wife is not a Chardonnay drinker but the Arthur changed her mind didn't have one bad Pinot as well . This is a place to experience and just go . Ok it is a bit pricey but the payout exceeds the cost. You might even want to join the wine club.

Steve H.

Yelp
DDO always gives the impression that details matter. Their pickup parties are the beat!

John A.

Yelp
We tasted both the French and Oregon wines and both were excellent. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and nice. $$$, but well worth the visit
google avatar

Phil G.

Yelp
Domaine Drouhin provided a wonderful tasting experience, and George was a wonderful host and oenophile. The four stars are for the value of the wines. I felt they were a bit overpriced. Certainly, Drouhin's setting, tasting room are gorgeous, and the winery's connection with Burgundy in France provides an old world taste profile. However, I expected a bolder expression of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Perhaps I needed to sample some of their library selections, but Domaine Drouhin wines did not match my palate. Again, that was my impression. Everyone has a different palate and taste. You may love Domaine Drouhin. Go and discover for yourself.

Yelp
Beautiful space, solid wines. Service was friendly but big on the upsell. :-/ Worth trying but I wouldn't return.

Yelp
We've been members for about 6 months and I have to say the wine tasting experience here is above and beyond many wineries. Really informative and lovely pours. I personally think their Pinot is fantastic and we are always thrilled to open one of their bottles at home. Remains to be seen whether we'll continue to be members. For one, there are no wine club events thus far. I think they focus on making a very memorable tasting experience, but events are non existent thus far. I also find their tasting room very uncomfortable if its cold outside. Although they try their best, the outdoor patio is beyond blustery during an Oregon winter and the inside is rather cold as well. I can't wait to visit with the warmer weather, as we always enjoy our experience here, but I certainly think this winery is worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Excellent wines and a really classy tasting of excellent Pinots. Ashley was our host and she was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Everyone was great and the property is stunning.

Yelp
I made a reservation 5 days before our Thursday afternoon visit which was scheduled for 2/15/24. This winery wants you to pre-select your tasting & pre-pay it before you even arrive! I said I wasn't comfortable doing either. I was having a leisurely afternoon with my family visiting 2 wineries & we wanted to make a reservation, show up & decide which tasting we would enjoy when we arrived. The phone rep reluctantly stated that was OK. On the day of the tasting, I received an email stating the reservation had been canceled. I'm presuming because I didn't pre-pay. I called an hour before the original reservation & spoke with a very nice female rep. She wasn't sure why the reservation was cancelled & assured us we could still come & she would still have a table ready for us. She was super friendly & professional. When we arrived, she was at the tasting room counter with another employee; he never smiled & barely acknowledged us. The female employee welcomed us & said our surname out loud. " this must be the ........... party, welcome! Even though the male employee heard our reservation name, he asked for it again. He didn't say hello, he didn't smile, the whole time. He looked up the reservation & said: "Are you sure you made the reservation for this Domaine? there are wineries with similar names" "Maybe your reservation is for a different winery" It was like he didn't want us there. I showed him the original reservation on my phone & miraculously he then "found it" . We then asked about an industry discount as my sister-in-law is a tasting room manager at a winery in CA. He said " I'm not sure we offer that & if we do, it's probably 20%" He was not welcoming at all, it was awful. He made us feel like we were lucky to be there & he didn't make us feel like guests. The other employee was completely opposite to him, she was warm, friendly & professional. Our server was great too but the male employee was awful. He ruined our experience. Most of the wines we tasted were great and the tasting area was pleasant but this employee tainted our entire experience. It boggles my mind that he is employed there. Zero hospitality on his part. This winery needs to re-evaluate how they structure their tasting experience. It's not difficult. 1. Warm, knowledgeable, friendly service from ALL of your employees. 2. Don't make your guests pre-select tastings before they arrive at the winery. 3. Don't insist that your guests pre-pay for a tasting they haven't experienced yet, especially on a rainy Thursday afternoon in the middle of Winter! We ended up buying 3 bottles as we liked the wine but we definitely didn't enjoy the experience. Money is more important to them than hospitality. I wish we hadn't of visited this winery. We will never return.

Yelp
Beautiful views with exceptional service. Great location to relax and enjoy the afternoon

Yelp
Tasted some great wines. They accommodated our kids with ease and the women who led our tasting was really nice.

Yelp
This place has a beautiful building and great views , the wines were good but not the best ! The rosé was probably my favorite but normally I gravitate towards red and the reds weren't the best in the area that I've had .

David M.

Yelp
The ambiance is very nice. Our favorite Pinot's in the area. Would like to see some type of tour and/or education. . They just offer a tasting. It is worth going.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely had an amazing time at Domaine Drouhin winery. Did the tasting for $40.00. It's definitely worth it. Got to try about 6 different Pinot's, Chard's and a Rose. The views are spectacular as well as the information and history of the Drouhin family and how they became so successful. If you pay attention you will definitely learn a lot. And if you're in the restaurant or wine industry you will definitely learn a lot about Burgundy France wine making and the comparison and contrasts to Willamette Valley wine making. We definitely learned a lot and appreciated how nice the facility is. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about wine and how it's processed and made. We learned a lot from him. Definitely recommend coming to this winery!

Yelp
First time to the Williamette Valley and this "little stunner" of a winery was at the top of our list. And Damn, they delivered! First off, the weather was perfect... you can't script that part, so already we were off to a great start. Second, it was our puppy's first road trip with us. (Siberian Husky/Border Collie @ 9 months old) Back to my review... the weather was amazing, the puppy was very well behaved, the wines were spectacular, the service was outstanding, and we became members! I forgot the name of the young man who assisted us, but he was on his game (dressed as a referee for the Halloween weekend), and while he was very professional, he also was playfully entertaining, especially with our puppy. (Thank You!!!!) The wines are somewhat legendary, so I won't bore you with the accolades. (They have all the accolades a winery could want!) What I will say, is this... If you are visiting the Williamette Valley and want to visit the "Flagship" of the valley, this is it! What it may lack in quaint size, and production, it more than makes up for with grandeur and class. The grounds are gorgeous, the facility is beautiful, and the wines (and the people) are what really makes the place special. (Go, visit, and I dare you not to become a member/join the club.) Cheers!

Yelp
We made reservations and stopped in today for a tasting at Domain Drouhin. We had waited almost 6 months to try the wine at this winery. We were not disappointed. Katie was our server and she was both knowledgeable and super friendly. I would definitely ask for her again. The wine was wonderful. We have tasted a lot of Pinots and these ones were superb and well priced. I would highly recommend making reservations here in advance and stopping by and don't forget to walk up to the pine tree stand Secret Garden in the Secret Garden gorgeous views.

Yelp
I love the view from this place. That earns it one star. However, the customer service, wine, and event management leave more to be desired. I came here for an event that was advertised as a pizza + wine night from 5 to 8. Everything was closed just before 7. I wouldn't have driven so long to get this event if it was going to be from 5 to 7 only. I remember when they would do pizza and wine every week in the summer. Now it seems it's only three times a summer. The event days are dwindling down and I can see why. This isn't the first time hosting an event like this. You shouldn't run out of pizzas 2/3 into the event. You also shouldn't stop serving wine 2/3 into the event just because the pizza is sold out. The workers could seem to care less. They just want to get out of there and go home. It feels very stuffy and unwelcoming here. I will not be going back here in the future. I can find just as an amazing view with better service at domaine serene.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
The full tour is pricey, but awesome. Great wine, great tour, great staff. One of the only locations I am aware of where you can compare both French and American made wines, along with receiving a great education on two different vineyards run by one extended family. If you choose to become members (excellent choice), the events you can attend as part of the membership are awesome, as is the opportunity to receive some of the finest Pinot's made in the world. Again, not inexpensive, but when you open them for a memorable meal you are assured the wine will be as special as the occasion.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
In agreement with the other most recent reviews, we'd advise to avoid wasting your money here. The strict rules on timing are completely unreasonable. We were 15 minutes late and there was zero flexibility and we were refused service. Our only option was to use the amount we prepaid on the tasting on a bottle of wine that we didn't first get to taste. What a poor excuse for a winery. Go down the road to other places that are willing to welcome you even when traffic gets backed up and you are late for reasons beyond your control.
google avatar

Kristina R.

Yelp
This was a wonderful stop among all the wineries we decided to check out this trip to Portland. The white and red options were wonderful; the Arthur was my favorite. It was light and perfect for the summer weather. The Laurene was also an amazing Pinot Noir. The views were spectacular. The staff has a wonderful passion and knowledge for wine. They were really helpful and made this such a great experience.

Kristin F.

Yelp
I love this winery! We've been drinking their Dundee Hills Pinot for quite awhile and finally made it out to their facility, which is beautiful! The view is insane. Tasting menu pricing is about what you would expect for the Willamette Valley, in my opinion. Nothing ridiculous. We enjoyed all of their wines but couldn't resist purchasing a bottle of the Rose Rock Pinot Noir Zéphirine. It was sooo smooth and very fruit forward. We didn't hang outside for too long because it was a cold day, but the view from their deck is incredible. I can't wait to come back in the spring or summer to enjoy more of it! We will definitely be pack.

K A.

Yelp
We've been to Domaine Drouhin twice now and have only great things to say about the vineyards and their wine! The views from their patio are just stunning (you should sit outside, and make a reservation), and their wines are great. I'm particularly fond of their Pinot Noir, and if you so choose, you can do a tasting that compares their local wines to those made by the sister winery in France. The only minor knock is that service wasn't all that great on our last visit, but it was on point the first time, and we'd definitely go back. Worth adding to any itinerary for a trip to McMinnville, and definitely worth keeping an eye out for at your local wine shop!
google avatar

Yelp
OMG! We've been wine tasting for 40 Years and this was a major standout. Connor was amazing. He had so much knowledge about the history of Domaine Drouhin and about the Dundee Hills. I loved the wines before coming here. It was my #1 choice of wine tasting visits this trip. We came away with the wine membership, a better knowledge of their making and a memorable tasting. If Connor is there ask for him when you make a reservation. I bought some to ship now and will wait until spring for my member shipment. Plus we purchased some for a catered dinner we're having tonight. Make sure you go here when you're in the area.

Yelp
Came here with some friends and we all did the five wine flight ($20). Before our tasting even began, I was annoyed by our server who came off as very pretentious. He was talking about Domaine Drouhin like it was one of the most prestigious wineries in the world. He incorrectly told my gf it was the same Domaine as Chandon in Napa Valley. Chandon is part of a $37B company, Drouhin is family owned from what I can tell. The first 2 wines we were served were Chardonnays. My friends thought it was decent, but I thought it was some of the worst Chardonnay I've ever had. Moving on to the Pinot Noirs, they were decent. The final wine, 2014 DDO Pinot Noir Laurene, was good. I'd have paid $30 for it, but it was priced at $70. I don't see myself coming back here with all the other great wineries in the Willamette Valley.

Yelp
A year ago I attended a delicious wine dinner in Las Vegas hosted by Veronique Drouhin and was introduced to her lovely wines. I remember she was very passionate and enthusiastic when she spoke about her wine. She even named some after her children. I spoke with her after the dinner and she mentioned visiting her winery if I was ever in Oregon. A year later I did visit her winery and was blown away at how beautiful it is. I can only imagine how beautiful the winery in France must be. All of her staff was just as enthusiastic, informative, and passionate about the wines as I remember she was. They were nice enough to give us a tour of the facility and let us taste a comparison between their Domaine Drouhin winery and their newer winery RoseRock. RoseRock sits at the foothills which can be seen across from the top of the hill where Domaine Drouhin is located. It's so amazing how the same grape can taste so different grown only five miles away! They have a lovely porch where you can sit and have a glass of wine or do a tasting all while enjoying the beautiful view of their vineyard. Thank you so much for being great to us and for letting us enjoy your delicious wines! We had a great experience here and will always recommend it.

Yelp
I have never been to a winery before and they made me feel good, not silly. Explained everything so well and answered all of my questions. The wine choices were truly amazing! Will go again in spring!

Yelp
The wines are excellent. We go to taste, to experience & buy good wines to store snd drink with friends. Loved the flight of pinots & a few whites. We bought wines for home in Calif. Danial was a very nice host. Going over details of the wines we were tasting.

Yelp
Don't use their online order system. They completely missed sending out my prepaid order for a wedding gift for my boss. I finally called the winter to get confirmation that it was received three days before the wedding, I had ordered it three weeks earlier. Oops they said, they forgot to notify me that there was an inventory problem. Totally unapologetic. They finally rudely offered to overnight it (they didn't) they sent it two day and I never received confirmation that it was received. I actually had to tell my boss on the East coast, hey I sent you a gift and the winery screwed up the order, will you be there the day before your wedding to sign for it before you leave the country in your two week honeymoon. Not a fan of this place.

K K.

Yelp
The wines were excellent. Ashley our server was above excellent. Very personable and informative. Loss of a star cause you gotta have some food. I shouldn't have to pre order a cheese plate. A busy place like this will go though the cheese before it spoils. I promise! The view is spectacular but I want some food with my wine. Hey Veronique get some cheese and bread up there. Will be back!!

Yelp
A beautiful property in the Dundee Hills. There is a covered patio as well as an even larger open patio overlooking the vineyards. The tasting area is comprised of two levels, with the tasting bar on the first level as you enter and a lower level with various seating options. The tasting bar is long with plenty of servers. We have a dog, and what we enjoy doing after 25 years of wineries and tastings is to just get a couple glasses of wine and sit on the patio with our dog and enjoy the view and weather. Despite having done just that at several other area wineries, we were not able to do so here, so that was disappointing. They would not sell us a glass of wine or a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio, just the $20 per person tasting for a sample of two Chardonnay and three Pinot Noir. Having made the trip there, we decided to do the tastings. My wife does not care for red wines. I asked if, for the tastings, she could just be poured the two Chardonnays multiple times. The server, who was pleasant and patient with me, nevertheless could not do so, either not able to or not understanding what I was asking. We shared one tasting. Their wines are very nice.
google avatar

Darcie McClelland D.

Yelp
A wonderful tasting experience! George was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and tailored the experience to be exactly what we were looking for. The wines were fantastic, especially the Laurene. They have a very nice patio but because it was 98 degrees out they set up a gorgeous tasting area under the evergreen trees in the shade where we could be comfortable. A truly one-of-a-kind day that we will definitely come back again for!

Yelp
Just a drive in and out fir us since we didn't call ahead for an appointment. Not my preferred way to experience a winery. It is usually a red flag for wine snobbery. Suggestion - posting reduced hours or indicate in a friendly way to call for same day appointment. Beautiful view of the fall colors in the valley.

Yelp
I fell in love with two wineries in the valley, and this was one. When we arrived, we were the first customer of the day, and they genuinely were excited to see us. I'm not sure if we were served by the owners or they just treated the experience like it was thier life's love, but they were friendly, fun, and attentive. Most importantly, the WINES. Every one was delicious. The sommeliers discussed the wine and the winery as we tasted, but also chatted casually. It honestly felt like we were tasting with an old friend. It was a cold day, so we just peaked at the grounds. Gorgeous rolling hills and a lovely deck. The tasting room was large enough to accommodate crowds, yet quaint enough to not feel commercial. The short walk to the restrooms and water dispenser gives you a peek at the wine barrels and processing area. This is a must stop.

Yelp
Please review my pros & cons before you come here. It will definitely save you time and set your expectations. Pros: - $15 dollar tasting for 5 wines ($3 a glass). - Fantastic view. - Amazing patio to hang out on. - You can bring your own snacks. - Great place for a group of people. Cons: - Subpar wines. Not the place for you if you're a true wine enthusiast. 4 of the 5 wines you'll probably dump. But their last wine on the tasting "2013 DDO Pinot Noir Laurene" made the trip worth it. $70 a bottle. - Very commercialized. - No in-depth explanation of the wines.

Yelp
Domaine Drouhin is one of my gold standard wineries. The wines are world class, and continue to be so every year. As with most artisan wineries, the wines vary every year with the variances of growing conditions. But, that's what I like in these wines. If one doesn't suit my fancy, they have many others that do. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their prosuct. And, have a enthusiasm that is infective. The winery is worth visiting for the views alone. Go amd enjoy. You'll be highly rewarded.

Yelp
I've been to Sonoma, Napa, and a couple of wineries in Willamette Valley and the Joseph Drouhin vineyard/winery/tasting was by far my FAVORITE experience yet. The wine is enough to give this place 5 stars but Kellie really made the experience worth while. Her knowledge of the family and wine was inspiring. After learning that Kellie's palate mirrored me and my family's palate, she took it upon herself to pour us a few more amazingggg pinots she knew we would love. Overall, a great winery you must visit when in the area. And if Kellie is there, request for her to show you around. She is absolutely fabulous!

Yelp
We had an awesome time at Domaine Drouhin! The view is incredible over the vineyard and landscape! This was our favorite place for wine-tasting in the Willamette Valley.....great Pinot Noir! It is so lovely on their deck overlooking the valley while sipping their wines. All of the staff were very helpful, knowledgable and friendly. You can definitely tell this is a very well-established place. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here in the Dundee Hills area.

Yelp
Really cute tasting room perched on top of the hills. Very knowledgeable staff. Great tasting flight of pinots and Chardonnays. Wine is great. Great for an afternoon tasting. Nice even on a foggy day.
