This is another typical example of having enough money to invest in a place, but which is run poorly due to lack of organisation.||||Already booking a room was proving difficult. I phoned the hotel to make enquiries for two double rooms for one weekend and was told that there was a wedding party taking place on the same weekend, that the hotel did have vacancies but it might get too noisy. With all the other hotels and B&Bs fully booked in the area, my friends and I had no choice but booking here. So I sent an email to book the 2 rooms. As I didn't get any reply I phoned the next day, but was told that the hotel reception was 'exceptionally closed' and that I would get an email the next day. I never did. So I phoned again, 3 days after my email and at the end of the third day I got a confirmation.||||We had already visited the castle previously and really liked the premises, but this would be the first time we would be staying in what is advertised at the Chateau Domain, i.e. the recently renovated wing next to the castle. There are beautiful grounds, quite well kept and one can have some nice walks around the domain.||||The wedding ceremony was probably coming to an end when we arrived late afternoon and there was nobody in the Reception/Bar area to welcome us. Finally, someone did come over 10 minutes later and handed us our room keys. We also confirmed breakfast the next day, like it was requested in our email. We were also told once more that normally they do not accept bookings when there is a wedding party. ||||The rooms were spacious with basic comforts and good sound isolation. We were out to a restaurant and returned late, but although there was indeed some noise from the guests returning to their rooms from the wedding party that was continuing well into the morning hours, we otherwise had a comfortable sleep.||||The next day we went down at breakfast, there was again nobody at the Reception/Bar and we waited for 5-10 minutes at the breakfast room. After a while a lady emerged from the kitchen. We explained that we had booked breakfast for 4 persons but she said she had not been informed. She anyhow asked us to take a seat. The table was obviously not set. The lady, who, we were later to learn was also the receptionist/barwoman, brought plates and cups but no towels. We got served from the mini-breakfast-buffet and since we still had no paper towels, we took some linen ones from the other unoccupied tables. After some time the lady came back with paper napkins and we handed her back the linen towels. She didn't seem to be too amused.||||The breakfast, overpriced at 15 Euros per person was poor, with some cheese, ham, croissants, bread, tea, coffee and cereals, all in small portions.||||When checking-out we had to wait for the same lady to come over, in order to pay. While settling the bill, she was also helping to serve drinks....We felt sorry for the lady who had to do everything as she clearly seemed to be doing everying and was under pressure. ||||From what I described above, it is evident that there is lack of organisation and coordination, not to mention the lack of extra staff on weekends and special occasions. There needs to be a person full-time at the reception, especially when there are many guests, which was the case on that weekend.||||The breakfast is also overpriced and if the hotel want to keep that price they better make sure the breakfast is more rich or, keep it as it is and reduce the price to 10 Euros.||||I am not sure I would return to stay.
