The Swiss Wine Vacation We All Need to Take

"Family-run Jean-René Germanier scores points for its cozy tasting room; also try the larger Rouvinez family holdings, with several carnotzets dotted through its land."

I visited this reputable winery a Saturday end of November 2024 to find some specialities that are local to Wallis, like the white Petite Arvine, one of my absolute favorites. The wineries in Wallis have become more and more commercialized over the years, so you do not really have the same personal contact with the owners that you have in our region in the canton of Vaud. But that's the problem of being too successful I suppose...

Lovely wine tasting. We got to try 9 wines in total, all of them very highly rated. The connoisseur who gave us the tour was so passionate about the wine and friendly! Would highly recommend.
