Domaine Truffier de Saleix

A unique and fascinating experience in the Perigord! We had a lovely day learning about Truffles, hunting for them, and eating delicious food prepared the owners in their lovely and welcoming home! The truffle eggs were amazing, so different from anything I've had before, both in the taste and special way they were prepared. Laure speaks perfect English, and does a wonderful job explaining both the science and mystery of truffle farming. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic time! The family took their time explaining every and answering questions. The traditional truffle meal was absolutely incredible. Would highly recommend this trip/excursion!

We had a unique experience and a fantastic tour! We were only four visitors, which made the tour very special and individual. The explanations around the truffle farming were absolutely interesting and we could even find some truffles with the help of the dog :) The lunch afterwards was delicious and exclusively made of home grown food such as eggs, nuts and vegetables. We highly recommend this experience!

Laure, her mother and her 2 children, escorted our group on a tour of their families truffle farm, explaining truffle varieties, common trees used, cultivation and the history of their farm. A terrific afternoon topped off with a taste of truffle and a nice glass of wine.

We were hesitant to go on a truffle tour off season but we had a wonderful experience exploring truffle agriculture. We learned so much from Laure during the tour and hunt, and have a new found respect for the culture. It was even more lovely to learn that it is a family tradition. We loved meeting Christine, Laure, Laure’s daughter, and the dogs, and truly appreciate them for welcoming us into their home and providing such a delicious lunch. Highly recommend this experience, it’s one to remember!

What a genuine hidden gem! We found Domaine Truffier de Saleix almost by accident and found the whole experience to be exemplary. The truffle hunting combined with the highly informative guide proved the tour to be a major highlight of our visit to the Perigord. Laure, your guide., speaks very good English and is happy to answer any and all questions - including nerdy scientific ones! I highly recommend that your also include the lunch. The whole family become involved! The food is good quality local produce served with a homely touch. The lady of the house offered ourselves some of her homemade Vin Noir. If you have the opportunity do not miss it! If you are visiting the area put this tour at the top of your list

We visited Laure and her family’s farm and absolutely loved the experience. It was a great group activity - we were 22 people (including 2 babies!). We had a tour where we learned about organic truffle agriculture and went truffle hunting with their dog. After we finished with a beautiful lunch and wine tasting. It was incredible! And we want to thank Laure and her family for opening up their home and sharing with us. They were so warm and welcoming, and we are so grateful to them. Laure was a great communicator and planner leading up the event - we were well prepared and knew just what to expect. We would recommend this to anyone! Especially if you’re interested in an authentic local experience.
