Domes Lake Algarve, Autograph Collection

A lovely week in a really nice hotel - the heated pool and beds next to it were a perfect way to spend the day with our toddler. The food was fantastic at Acosta, Blend and Topos albeit on the expensive side. The staff were excellent (especially Rita in guest relations - she went above and beyond like no other). We had read reviews about the breakfast buffet being limited which is not true, there was everything you could|want. The coffee wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad (Nespresso pods). It’s nice to be so close to the marina, and a really lovely beach is 5 mins walk. It’s not a big hotel, but perfect for a week. We stayed had half board which was worth it (you can swap for lunch) and a spacious apartment. I wouldn’t say it’s ultra luxury but it’s very nice and would highly recommend.

This is the best Hotel I have ever stayed in. What makes it special is the staff, they are fantastic, simply can’t do enough. The location is also fantastic, 5 min walk to the Marina but I hardly ever left. The hotel is stunning. Pool area is fantastic with the pool bar. So clean. Food is amazing. If I could give 6 stars I would.

I have just read a recent review of the hotel and I could not disagree more . When we arrived we were greeted by a delightful guest relations person who could not have been more friendly advising us of all the hotels' amenities and surrounds, there is a guest lounge for new arrivals with complimentary beverages and food. The check-in staff were polite and friendly .As for the hotel itself , our room was modern , 60 inch TV ,very comfortable bed , bathroom fully stocked with as many large fluffy towels as were needed. We were half board , the breakfasts had every possible item of food one could imagine , the pastries were unbelievable and the staff were hard working and friendly. The evening buffet again was stocked with everything any diet or food requirement fully met and changed every night. We also had the extra benefit of the Haute Living lounge which provided three changes of food during the day with unlimited drinks and alcohol. The outdoor pool area was spacious with no shortage of beds and towels and ideal for children with the benefit of a good sized shallow heated pool. How anyone could complain about this hotel baffles me, we will be returning.

Overall, a fantastic five-star hotel in a great location. Front of house staff are helpful and enthusiastic. Guest relations, especially Daniela, are exceptional - they really go above and beyond. Food is of great quality and there is lots of cuisines to choose from. Rooms are spotless, housekeeping do a great job. The gardens and lake are amazing, lots of cool birds and trees. Location couldn’t get much better - you could practically crawl to the beach or the marina if you wanted to. Few picky bits… Gym isn’t super well equipped and some of the machines are a bit dated, it would be nice to see some newer equipment in there. The property does show its age in places - most doors look pretty beaten up and there are some walls that have taken some heavy knocks. Don’t get me wrong, the place is spotless, but I think someone needs to go round with a few new doors and some plaster. Apart from that, can’t fault the place. Definitely recommend.

Domes Lakes is in a beautiful location with superbly landscaped grounds and lovely seating areas (parasols would be a little too small for high summer though, shade not great). Excellent beach bar Estrella with wonderful ceviche in particular. Breakfast very nice although some of the fresh fruit needs more inspections (bruised bananas). Room was a great size and nicely appointed (plenty of storage, coffee maker, walk-in shower). Great to get a slightly early check in. Spa treatments were lovely.|The bar is a problem - it's very nice but far too small for a hotel of this size and gets crowded with large golfing groups very quickly and there is nowhere else to drink in the evening in the hotel. A second more intimate bar for couples would be lovely. Topos restaurant - lovely service but slightly underseasoned - advise eating around the marina. So would stay again with those provisos.

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and relaxed in the beautiful hotel and grounds, especially by Jean at the Estrella bar were we had lunch whilst waiting for our room to be ready. |We have visited Villamoura lots of times but this was our first visit to the Domes Lake and we cant wait to return next year. |Our room had a lovely view over the pools and lake. The room was perfect, the bed was so comfy and the room was kept clean and tidy. We stayed on a half board basis and appreciated that you could have lunch instead of an evening meal if required. We did eat in the buffet numerous times, which has a fantastic selection of food. The breakfast again was amazing with so much choice, fresh, tasty food and everything you could want. |All the staff were friendly and helpful especially Joceylene (training), Isabela, Jabed, Jaquain, Jean and Patricia.|We enjoyed the paddle boarding, table tennis and pool. |We loved it here and cannot recommend it enough, just book it and you will love it.

We had a nice surprise when booking in - an unexpected (and unrequested) upgrade to a residency suite. The suite was beautiful, well appointed and had a wonderful view over the marina.||The resort itself is beautiful, around a man made lake with several pools and bars/restaurants. It has gym facilities (I decided I was on holiday from that too though!), but as beautiful as the place is its the staff who are the star - incredibly warm and helpful and really nothing was too much hassle for them. Thoroughly recommend.

From start to finish our stay was absolutely perfect and would score 100%. We've stayed in several hotels in Vilamoura and this hotel is by far the BEST. Just 5 mins walk to the marina ( busy at weekends) . So its nice to have a calm hotel to retreat to. Lovely stretch of beach at the back of the hotel 5 mins walk and you can walk for hours. Food is excellent in all of their restaurants. Staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel went out of their way to mark our anniversary which was so lovely and unexpected and was the cherry on top. |Can't wait to return to the Domes Lake hotel !
