The food is always good here. Well, 8/10. I've had some not so great platters. I guess it depends on who's cooking. However, most of the time I enjoy my food. I ordered a side of beans which are 3 dollars. The portion was very small, and had a big potato chunk in it. It was more juice than beans. I literally dumped them into my platter and scooped them with a fork showing just how small of a portion i paid for. It was 2 fork full of beans. Not cool🤷🏿‍♀️ I'd rather have all beans no juice or potatoes. My only complaint.

Found a fly in my food. AFTER the charged me extra just for using my card. So I paid extra to use my card just to find a fly in my food? HORRIBLE! Food was good until I found the fly in my rice. Smh

Ordered online can’t remember what service. Late night I’m sure i was one of the last orders of the night. I wanted to try a little of everything. My faves were the steak and the empanadas very good. All the fried appetizers were pretty good. The chicken was okay. I was expecting more flavor or spice even. They gave decent portions for the price i think. Also would need more sauce. They give a lot of rice. I wasn’t a fan of the rice but like i said it was late night so I’m not complaining. Just know i ate everything so I recommend giving them a try at least!

Stopped by Ada’s Gojjo and what a treat! The vibe is cozy and unpretentious, with fresh‑flavored Dominican and Ethiopian dishes side by side. Mofongo and injera‑lined platters are both stars—huge portions, authentic spices, and a welcoming owner who stops by to chat. Loved the empanadas and the lentil mix. There’s outdoor seating, easy parking, and BYOB if you want. A perfect casual spot when you’re craving something bold and comforting.

Went above and beyond it make me feel comfortable. To be within Internet service I will take a picture of the floor, but I’m already devouring it. I will give this place five stars. There’s also a bathroom location. I chose to eat here Because they have Seating

The best dominican food I've ever had. Wish I had $ to relocate them to a place that my neighborhood would be able to enjoy. North wilmington

Delicious!!! I had the stew chicken and arroz con gandules (yellow rice). It was so good! Tastes exactly like how my family makes it. Everything was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The stewed beans were made perfectly too. I asked for extra gravy from the chicken and they gave me a cup full of it. I poured some all over the rice. Will definitely order again and highly recommend!

I only ate here two time and overall the food is good. The roast pork was a little salty the second time.

Yelp
As a foodie adventurous person as myself I was amazed by this cute little hole in the wall spot. It's my first time in Delaware and I wanted something different. This location was convenient for my short stay in Wilmington area and the food was wonderfully delicious. I have been to DR and my husband was skeptical being that he is spoiled with true authentic DR food so we took a risk. Ordered us Baked and Boiled chicken with yellow rice. Beans, plantains and lechon was amazing! My regret is not taking pics as you can see me and my husband was too busy enjoying our meals. It may not be presentable but the food is cooked with love and you will be savoring every bite. Service is great and wonderful people. Ambiance itself gave me that city felt hustle and bustle vibe. But they delivered with excellence and brought our food to us as we sat in the back. As an island person from across the nation we can always share commonalities through food and excellent service. They do not disappoint. My reason for 4 star and not 5 is basically comes down to limited space of parking and set up of ordering. But overall still a cute little establishment hole in the wall feel. Do yourself a favor and go check them out.

Yelp
I came here as a kid growing up. After church my mom would take us for lunch and we would stop here from time to time. My mother is Puerto Rican and my Dad is Dominican and this place comes as close as you can get from home cooked meals. The best place in Delaware to get authentic Dominican food. After all the years I've come back and it is still delicious. I hope one day they can expand beyond Wilmington!

Yelp
I moved back to Delaware last year after spending half a decade in NYC, where I frequented a tiny Dominican restaurant near my office in the Flatiron District that I swore up and down served the best stewed chicken. My coworkers and I would go at least once or twice a month to get our stewed (and sometimes baked) chicken fix, and when the city shut down and our office decided to go remote permanently, I thought I'd never get my fix again. I have to say one of my biggest regrets after living in Wilmington for nearly a year is not ordering from Dominican Cafe sooner. As soon as I tasted their stewed chicken, it felt like home in a way. The chicken was moist and falling off the bone, soaking up the delicious juices below -- I was in heaven. It was a meal someone put their heart into making. I recently bought a house in Newark, so although I'm sad to be moving away, Dominican Cafe will have me driving back to Wilmington for more, that's for sure. Thank you!

Yelp
If you're on the hunt for delicious authentic Dominican food, look no further this is the place! We ordered for take out and both servers at the counter were very nice and attentive. I would post what we ordered but we inhaled it all it was SO good!

Yelp
It's okay food, I'd let my friend buy me lunch there, but I wouldn't spend my money again. Maybe it was just the day but the pork and rice was bland and beef patties are nothing special but a quick bite to go if you need it.

Yelp
Best authentic Dominican food in the area of Delaware.Excellent service, my happy place.

Yelp
The food is good but I wanted to add an extra cup of beans & I was told I couldn't. For the pri e you pay they should be able to because they did it before. Then I never get my full order, I ordered the Maduros & did not get them so I called to let them know & they said we put them in there so I don't know.

Yelp
I LOVe the food at Dominican cafe,by far the best Spanish food in Delaware.....generous portions, great food...reasonable prices,..
google avatar

J-Mac M.

Yelp
Nothing too special about this place. Food is ok, but there is no "OMG" moment through out the meal. It's a decent quick Spanish food spot you can go to for lunch other than that don't waste your time. The lady's are hot though

Yelp
LOve the Empanadas started coming here in the late 80s or real early 90s when I lived in Wilmington still coming from Baltimore area just for them.

Yelp
Food was really good! That was my first time trying the baked chicken with yellow rice and beans . I definitely recommend it for authentic Dominican food! Only thing I didn't really like was the location but hey the food is GOOD!

Yelp
I actually came here on a whim because of a BuzzFeed video maybe hungry for Dominican food. So I asked Siri if she could tell me where the closest Dominican spot is; and low and behold Dominican Cafe is near my humble abode! They have excellent customer service, their food was flavorful and savory! I had goat (or Cabra) and rice and beans. My friend had a Cubano (so yummy) and my friends daughter had the chicken (pollo) sandwich. I also had the empanadas, they were really tasty! Parking is a bit hard around lunch time, and it's street parking. However, You will not regret going here when you get a chance.

Yelp
For sure best Dominican food in Wilmington. Good prices and the food had no wait time. I'm def going again and would recommend you trying it.

Yelp
The beef patties are great. I've been eating them since I was young. But the meals were always scary to me. Today I tried the stewed chicken and it was dry and bland. I'll stick to my beef patties.

Yelp
¡Excellente! Their food selection is delicious with an assortment of empanadas, chicken, rice, and plantains. I recommend this spot when one needs a chill lunch or dinner. Reasonable and affordable prices.

Yelp
One of my favorite inner city resturants! This is one of my "go to" resturants after hitting the gym. Their baked chicken is seasoned well and their pork is very tender. The customer service is good as well!
