"Dominican Tree House Village Live out your Swiss Family Robinson dreams at this small resort, where rope bridges and jungle paths connect 22 treehouses to a main lodge and restaurant serving fresh, organic produce harvested nearby. The treehouses are all set above the tree line; three VIP units feature king-size beds, outdoor showers, and the best views. There’s no Internet, cell service, or TV here, but there is a zip line that starts in the mountains and ends at a waterfall, and a rope swing near the resort’s back entrance. If you desperately need to check your email, there’s Wi-Fi just outside the property at Emma’s Café, where the staff will also teach you to dance merengue, bachata, or salsa."

First day, the bottom of the bed broke. The fuse would constantly go out with no light. Our door broke off at the bottom and they never did fix that inefficient lighting. You could barely see anything very treacherous walk up the rocky and muddy area no check-in area. Great food if you like rice and beans all the time. It was like a mess hall trying to get food. Once jungle time came about and there was dinner. All inclusive was a joke. There was no lunch and all the drinks either run or nothing or you were charged for them. The yoga room hadn’t been used in probably 10 years. Two warm showers in the seven days I was there the rest were cold water. The picture of the pool on Facebook was a lie. It was cold and never used in probably quite a long time. the bridge across the water Was actually moving off the concrete when people were walking across it. The bridge to the rooms was basically falling apart. Some of the pieces of the board going vertical were missing and the 2 x 2 x 24 across is either broken splitting into or falling apart. The volunteer staff were great. The place was in disrepair, and they both said that the owners just didn’t care. I believe there’s a lot of misleading and lying about what they offered. The volunteers asked me to write this review so that other people would know what they’re walking into. I would give it a total of a one, and I still believe that would be too high.

The Dominican Republic has a TREEHOUSE hotel? Yes — real houses built in the trees, located in El Valle, Samaná, one of my favorite places on the island. This stay was a full experience. You’re completely immersed in the jungle, surrounded by endless greenery, stunning mountain views, and beautiful details everywhere. The mix of wooden treehouses, red curtains, lush green mountains, and ginger plants feels straight out of a dream. The experience starts on arrival: you park and walk about 1 km through the jungle to the lobby (pack light and arrive before dark to fully enjoy it). The lobby is the heart of the property — restaurant, bar, chill area, games, hammocks… pure disconnect mode The property is a content creator’s paradise, with a gorgeous jungle pool, fire-pit with swings, Bali-style swing over water, and countless cozy corners for wine and conversation. Rooms vary in size; the largest sits at the highest point and includes an outdoor shower and incredible views (yes, lots of stairs). There’s no A/C, but powerful fans and cool nights make it comfortable. Breakfast is included, lunch is light, and afternoons come with sandwiches and soups on the house. Dinner varies between à la carte and buffet depending on occupancy — and everything we tried was delicious. Little details make this place special: $10 massages (amazing!), included yoga classes, and a staff that is truly 10/10 — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Dominican Treehouse Village is more than a hotel; it’s a nature-immersed, unique, and magical escape. Would I go back? Without a doubt.

It was a "Once in a Lifetime Experience." All I can say is WOW! The views are breath taking! The food was excellent! Everything was so memorable, and we will be back!!!! The ziplining experience was second to none...TOTALLY TOP NOTCH! I've been a lot of places, and I sincerely believe it is the BEST IN THE WORLD!||Aurea, Nancy, Pedro, Michael and all the others whose names I don't know were Amazing!||I will say though that some of the excursions have a lot to be desired. We paid for the ATV/Horseback Riding/Waterfall excursion. Our ATV had no power steering and the brakes didn't work. We are experienced riders and it felt like a death trap. We ended up returning and going in a car. It clearly wasn't safe. However, I will say that the other two people riding with us had newer, safer ATVs. Therefore, just insist on one of the newer ones. Another option would be to take a taxi to Samana and renting an ATV there. ||Another notable thing to mention is this! There is no need to get pesos. American dollars work just fine there. Be aware! Lots of people will approach you with souvenirs that are way overpriced...things you can get at home for one third of the price. They're all very nice but just send them away as they will try to scam you if you let them. Be careful in stores too! That, of course, has nothing to do with the tree house though. The tree house was fantastic!

I honestly hesitated to write this, and I’ve been holding it in since March, but it’s still been bothering me. I don’t want anyone else dealing with what I went through. One of the staff members made my entire stay uncomfortable. At first everything seemed cool, but he started acting like we were in some kind of relationship. He began messaging me on WhatsApp with comments about kissing me, asking me to meet him alone by the pool, sending late-night “why didn’t you say goodnight” texts, and even posting things on his status clearly directed at me. It felt manipulative, emotional, and way too personal for someone working at a place I paid to stay at. It escalated to the point where I didn’t even want to come downstairs because I felt watched. If I talked to another volunteer, he’d get jealous and confrontational. He even sat down with me, my mom, and another guest and told them he was “in love” with me, which was incredibly inappropriate and embarrassing. Other staff even told me he had feelings for me, like this was some soap opera instead of a resort. He repeatedly pulled me aside for private conversations, trying to figure out who I liked, what I was doing, or why I didn’t respond fast enough. One time he asked me to meet him in a lounge area right before dinner, and people walking by were literally watching us because it looked so weird. Another time when he helped fix the shower, he tried to get me to kiss him in the bathroom. I laughed it off, but it was totally out of line. By the end of the trip he was being childish, saying he would block me on WhatsApp in front of people, and acting like I ruined his feelings just because I talked to someone else. After I left, I was told he’s done this with other female guests too, and now he’s with a volunteer who’s around 19 while he’s in his 30s. That alone says enough. I’m not writing this to get him fired. I’m writing it because guests should feel safe and respected. His behavior crossed professional boundaries over and over, and it made my trip uncomfortable in a way that shouldn’t happen anywhere, especially not with staff. I hope management takes this seriously.

Had an absolutely incredible experience staying at Dominican Tree House Village. This is a one of a kind experience, and something I will truly cherish! I stepped out of my comfort zone, not knowing what to expect (did my fair share of research beforehand, but you know what I mean) and was SO pleasantly surprised. If you’re looking for a unique stay, and a place to relax, recharge, and reset, Dominican Tree House Village is your place. The staff went above and beyond for my boyfriend and I, along with everyone else who was staying at the same time as us. They were so helpful, kind, and fun to be around. We absolutely loved hanging out in the hotel lobby with them each evening, and learning their experiences living in the DR. The rooms were very well kept, and the mosquito net worked wonders. Come to think of it, I very rarely even noticed insects around the property! The food was true Dominican cuisine, I’m not a risk taker when it comes to food, but can honestly say I enjoyed everything I had the opportunity to try. Since it is a bit of a journey getting to and from the Tree House Village from Samana, I would suggest a minimum 4 days here to maximize your time! I would hands down stay here again, I’m so glad I took a leap of faith and went on this adventure. Also got the chance to see one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen in my life, just a 15 minute bike ride from the property. It is so worth checking out!

My stay at Dominican Tree House Village Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt an instant connection to the place and everyone there. The atmosphere is filled with love, peace, and a calming energy that makes you feel at home. From the cook’s warm smile to the loyal security dog, Ranger, every detail added to the experience. Strangers quickly became family, and the people from the surrounding village welcomed me with open hearts. Surrounded by nature—majestic trees, gentle rivers, curious animals—and supported by an incredible staff and the gracious owner, Bart, the entire stay radiated high vibrations and good energy. This wasn’t just a visit; it was an experience of connection, serenity, and pure joy. 🌿✨ I left with my heart full and my spirit refreshed—and I absolutely can’t wait to return. *Yoga by the waterfall 🦋 Magical

Staying at the Dominican Treehouse Village was an unforgettable experience — like stepping into a real-life jungle dream. The treehouses are charming, rustic, and beautifully woven into the lush tropical surroundings, offering a true sense of peace and disconnection from the busy world.|Waking up to the sounds of birds and the gentle sway of the trees felt grounding and rejuvenating. The staff were incredibly welcoming, always ready with a smile and happy to help with anything we needed. The community atmosphere, from shared meals to guided adventures, made it easy to connect with others while still having space for quiet reflection.|Zip-lining through the jungle was such a great experience, Meals were exceptional in the open-air dining space, and relaxing in a hammock in the mornings were some of my favorite moments. Every moment feels like a return to what matters most — simplicity, nature, and presence.|Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to connect with nature.
