Dominie's Hoek

This unassuming bar has it all. Food Perhaps the least expected, but the food here is actually great. The highlight of it all is the grilled chicken caesar salad, we have yet to find a better one in this neighborhood. The tacos and grilled cheese are also not bad, but maybe more your typical bar stock. Service The bartenders all have a kind of calm, amicable presence. In the three years I’ve lived nearby, I’ve never seen even a trace of impatience, even on busy nights. They’re always getting into conversations with the locals, and it gives the place a friendly vibe. Ambiance I think this place is underrated as a date spot. It’s not fancy, and sometimes some of the tables can be a bit sticky (hey, spills happen it’s fair). But the lighting is nice — a warm amber light fills the place, and I think it makes you look better. I always feel like I have good conversations with people here, and I can’t quite say why, but I think it’s the vibe. If you’re not looking for anything too fancy, and just want a down to earth place to meet up with someone, this is your spot.

The best made to order pizza out there … well at least for bar standards lol. Seriously, the pizza is great and the music on Sundays. Phenomenal w the band Pocket Sand / Trampleman who have been there for 12 years!! Sundays 9 pm

The food was tasty but the real five-star experience is the service. Aaron went out of his way to make us feel welcome, he was super friendly and very attentive. Just based off of that, we will definitely be back soon! The location and atmosphere was lovely as well. Highly recommend for brunch or to have a few drinks(:

It’s a shame that the food here is so good, but the service is terrible! Erick was beyond rude to my friends and I while we were celebrating our friend’s birthday. We decided to do bottomless mimosas and Erick raised his voice and snapped at us for “ordering mimosas back to back”, as if we didn’t chose to do bottomless drink. I’ve been coming to this bar since 2019 and I think it’s time I stopped giving them my business. Kyle and Billy have always been sweethearts but Erick was so rude!

I'm obsessed with their brunch! Some of the best eggs benedict I've ever had and the bottomless sangria was just what I needed. The service was great and it was not crowded at all for a Saturday at noon. I will definitely be back!

I had a disappointing experience at the bar. When my brother and I stopped by for a beer, the bartender took our order but then walked away to smoke and talk on his phone. After waiting for about 8 minutes, we decided to leave.

First time here & loved it! We came just for a quick bite but when we seen the great brunch deal we ended up staying longer than expected! Simple menu but food was delicious! And our server was very attentive! Loved the cute patio seating! We’ll definitely be coming back!

Dominie hoek is one of my favorite spots to go it has such a dive bar vibe and I love it dominie's is definitely one of the most affordable bars in long island city. One of the best things about this bar is definitely the happy hour special from Mondays through Friday they have 8 dollars beer and shot special and your choice of tecate pbr and Bud light with the house shot of your choice. I never had a problem with the service as well their fast their respectful i definitely love the music choice the bartenders play while in the bar but there is also a jukebox if you want to play something specific. The only thing with the jukebox is I don't know what type of music they have in it I also love going their for the food happy hour you get 6 wings for 5 or 6 dollars Monday through Fridays till 8pm. But if you are using cash you do have happy hours prices all night so me specifically I always take out cash cause I definitely appreciate the fact that I get happy hours prices all night. The food is also very good from the tator tots to the nachos it's really good talking about nachos one my favorite meals from dominie's hoek is the chicken nacho the only down side of dominie's is they don't add different drafts to the taps it's always the same ones. Besides the draft part this bar is an amazing affordable bars to hang out drink and enjoy a great happy hour.

They have arts and crafts on a Wednesday night. When you pay with cash it is happy hour all night long. Their shot and beer special is $8. I usually go for the tequila and bud light. They have some beers on drafts. Their kitchen stays open late. Who can go wrong with the with the 6 wings for $5? They have really cheap food. Their brunch has changed they don't seem to open early like they used to, I am not sure why because they are the cheapest bar in the area. ::bathroom alert:: Super clean bathrooms, both unisex. The one bathroom on your left has a window, always use that one, you'll thank me later. They do have a jukebox but I'd rather just listen to whatever the bartenders playlist is. I absolutely love the corner spot of the bar because you get to look at the fish swimming around. This location does not have TVs. There is an outlet at the front table to your right when you walk in but other than that I have not seen an outlet. They are dog friendly and children friendly. I am not sure if they have a kids menu for the food. Sometimes when you go there will be someone's dog sitting in the chair like a human at the bar it is the cutest thing you will see. The backyard is a fun spot for summer nights or spring nights.

Dive bar vibes. Great drink deals. Friendly staff. Plays greats early 2000s music all the time. Very nostalgic. Love coming here for a drink.

Tucked away pub on a busy street in LIC. Unassuming from the outside and pretty quiet inside for a Saturday evening. Got a couple stools at the corner of the bar and was given new menus for food/drink (they change often). Decided on the Arugula Salad with chicken ($14) to go along with a draft beer ($8). Basic beer selection with enough options for everyone. Salad took some time to come out - some greens with grilled chicken put together. Okay overall though not very substantial; regular bar food would probably have been better. Bartender is nice and the place is cozy. Best for some quick drinks.

Overall: Its giving dive bar, local friendly spot where everyone knows your name. It's giving dimly lit, strong drinks and American style bar food. It's giving coworker hang out, FriYAY happy hours, pregame before the next place, friends sync up spot. The good: the happy hour is decent, you know I love a good discount. Wings for $5 sign me up. Drinks for $5 I'm sold. I enjoyed the buffalo wings and had a beef taco that was ok. Bad: Parking in this area is a nightmare. Service was kind of slow but the bartender explained it was unusually busy and he was short staffed so I'll cut him some slack. Must try: Not sure anything in this place is a MUST HAVE. This place is a no frills, what you see is what you get place and I dig that!

Been going here for years but been getting more and more bummed on this place each time I go. At first, they got a new food person, so all of the dishes dropped. Okay... it's a bar you can deal with that. Then, they raised the prices. Inflation, I guess.... Now, they try to scam you. I got charged nearly 25 for three cheap beers. Like the kind of beers you get for $3 at a happy hour. Of course with no receipt. Wack! Place needs to do some soul searching and figure out who they want to be.

Dominie's Hoek is the best little neighborhood bar! Beer is cold, food is tasty, bartender is so nice and very attentive. Yesterday was the hottest day of the summer, so far and my bf and I had some friends come up from Greenpoint for afternoon drinks. We started at LIC Bar up the street (also a great hang out) and then moved on to Dominie's when LIC Bar started getting more packed and it seemed their AC couldn't handle the heat anymore. So, for future reference, Dominie's AC is great! Haha We all shared nachos, buffalo wings, tater tots, and our friends each had hot dogs, also. The tots come with ketchup, and also a sriracha mayo that was really good. They have a nice looking backyard as well that was a little too hot to enjoy on this particular day, but I've walked by on countless occasions during the evening and seen plenty of people enjoying it. Just your prefect, laid back, friendly neighborhood bar with great snacks. I've read some great reviews about their brunch, so I'm excited to come back another weekend to try it.

Favorite place to eat in LIC , no thrills spot . Eat drink and converse . Wings are the best , nachos are excellent. Price is definitely definitely ppl friendly. HH is from 4-8. Not a sports bar , they have a patio in the back , place is dimmed . No bright lights

What a great bar. I am glad I found this place. The prices were all reasonable. We ordered some nacho and drinks. The nacho was good and huge. The drinks were all tasty. They have a happy hour but the normal drink price range is pretty good. They have a nice backyard space. I will be back to try their bottomless brunch.

This is the second time we've ordered take out from this place! The first time we ordered tater tots and 2 hot dogs. Which I totally recommend!!!!! The tater tots were perfectly fried, not too greasy but fried enough for them to be crunchy on the outside! I ate so many, they're so easy and addicting! The hot dog is your regular standard hotdog, cannot go wrong with that! I believe it was $3 each hotdog. This place is a solid American bar food place and is fairly affordable!!! This time we wanted to try more items so we got a burger with a side of those amazing tater tots lol and buffalo chicken wings!! Burger - 2/5 I would not order again....... See picture attached, I'm not sure why the burger looked so compact? I want to say maybe they're using a leaner cut of beef but it also oddly resembled a meatless burger. Either way, I was confused and thrown off!! The burger itself could also use some salt! :( I wasn't impressed with the burger but glad I tried it! Tater tots - still phenomenal. 6/5 Buffalo Chicken Wings - 3/5 I had high hopes for these since the other bar food items were so good!! Unfortunately these were overly fried, causing parts of the chicken to be super tough, dry and chewy! I also wished they had coated it in more sauce! If you like saucy wings, this is not the kind to order. I'd still come here for the tater tots!! Best in the neighborhood!!

Cool place with great drinks (and terrific happy hour prices!) The bartender and the waitress when my co-workers and I were there were both amazing. So friendly and helpful. When the weather is nice, there's a cute garden in the back which actually holds more people than you might think. Very close to the 7 train, but don't tell anyone because we don't want the word getting out about this neighborhood gem!

Food is a great value for Happy Hour. It's a neighborhood bar that's cozy, friendly, and welcoming. Aaron provides great service, even when he's often swamped. Wings are crispy, fries are well seasoned, what more can you ask for?

Let's start off- it's a bar. If you know my reviews, it's based off of quality and customer service. Again- it's a bar. I'll rate it the way I would a bar- not with the same standards as I would a steakhouse. My friends and I came here for a bottomless brunch on a Sunday afternoon. My friend and I arrived shortly after 3pm, my other friend, closer to 4. Our sever Shanon made sure our drinks were never empty. She was attentive and made sure anything we asked for, we got. The food exceeded our expectations. Again- it's a BAR (with a nice patio area). We ordered a dozen buffalo wings as an appetizer. They were hearty crunchy and tasty! An entry was $12 and bottomless drinks (that were TRULY bottomless) were $12. For three people, with an appetizer, it was less than $100. We each had a dish for our main brunch choice and we left our plates clean. We liked it so much, we ordered whiskey shots! We'll definitely be back!

Chill pub by the 7 train. Good happy hour. All beers $5. $4 fries. Bar food menu, maybe a step up from a bodega. Neighborhood feel.

Came in for happy hour after frequenting the sister location in Astoria. Lovely bar and friendly staff. Half dozen wings for $5 on happy hour and always the beer and a shot deal are a can't miss for me. The food menu is pretty good and I would try something other than the nachos, which were loaded and tasted pretty good. I saw a few others post about brunch so I'm planning to visit and sit on the patio when the weather warms up. It was cash only when I visited but I think that is only because the credit card machine was down. 2 rounds for 2 people and nachos and wings for two was around $50.

Came here for my cousin's annual Birthday party. Parking is very difficult around the neighborhood. Had to park by the warehouse and run over and try not to be jacked up. He reserved a few tables in the back with outdoor seating. The staff was very fun and efficient. Our drinks were always cold and more than half way full. 2 unisex bathrooms. Great when you break the seal.

My go to place for happy hour. Mon- fri. Friendly atmosphere. Good food, nice juke box with tunes. Just overall great ppl that are in the place.

Great (and affordable) brunch! I had the burger and my friend had the breakfast burrito - both were great and hit the spot. Recommend the sangria. We heard from staff they're hoping to be bringing back bottomless brunch soon which would be amazing. Definitely stop by if you're local or in the area for good, cheap drinks and food!

Discovered Dominie's on Yelp when I was looking to bottomless brunch before meeting friends on the East River. I had such a fantastic time that I've gone back 5 times since. It is conveniently located on Vernon Blvd, right up the block from the 7 train. If you're just walking down the street it is easy to mixx because doesn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in theres a decent sized bar with some dining tables, a juke box and then a fabulous backyard area to dine outside. I almost always get a table outside when I come because it's such a cute patio area that you wouldn't otherwise know exists! The prices are great for the area, easily the cheapest bottomless brunch option I've found in NYC. It is $12 for an entree and $12 to add on unlimited mimosas and sangria. The waitstaff is always fairly friendly, I've had a few times where they've struggled to keep up with the patio area but I'll point the finger at understaffing. They also have a great happy hour on the weekdays from 4-8pm offering $5 drinks. Food is so good too. The omelette comes generously filled with the add-ons of your choice, the hamburger benedict is definitely a different twist on the traditional benedict but so generously portioned and the arugula salad with grilled chicken is a great diet friendly alternative! All in all, this is a great spot in LIC for brunch, happy hour, drinks with friends or a casual dinner.

This place is actually amazing. I came here with a few friends for a friend's birthday. They have outdoor seating and it's just lovely out there. We came for happy hour and it was $5 beers but they also had some dangerous beer and shot specials that we took advantage of. The food was pretty awesome. Hefty portions and they tasted delicious. I got a ground beef burrito and it was massive. It was also $10. I don't really see how you can beat that. All my other friends had food that they said was great as well. I think that really made the whole experience was the server. I wish I could remember her name, but she was just the friendliest lady in the whole world. She claimed our food was slow in coming out, but we really didn't mind and brought us some shots on the house. So sweet! our waters were always full and she was just so pleasant. I know they have a brunch deal, that I need to check out. Definitely coming here again.

This place accommodated my group of 8 on the spot. We visited on a Monday night and I suspect that they were short staffed since the food took a long time to come out. However, it was worth the wait. We sat on their backyard patio which was really charming. They have good burgers and a simple menu. Good and affordable food for a dive bar. Kind of interesting that they have Vietnamese iced coffee, which was pretty good as well. I recommend!

This place is so cute. My friend Anna H and I came here today for brunch. Even though it was a little chilly out we decided to sit at a cute corner table outside in the back. The waitress was very friendly although she did forget about us lol. We both had mimosas. My friend had the burger benedict with fries. I had the spinach benedict with fries. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The fries were so delicious and I loved the spicy mayo that came with it. Would def come here again!

My friend and I got here around 6pm on a Saturday afternoon. Firstly, FYI... Parking is a total nightmare here! T O T A L NIGHTMARE. Lucky for all of you - the train entrance is 1 block away. Anyways, the place was pretty empty and they had outdoor seating. Thankfully! They were extremely short of staff so the service was really slow. We got the burrito and cheese quesadilla with a pitcher of beer. Well worth it ! A really chill place to hang out. The inside is spacious and the outside area is really cozy.

Came here to grab late brunch on New Years Eve as every other restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. Dominie's Hoek was the only one open so we hopped right in. I ordered the spinach eggs benedict and the eggs were poached to perfection! I loved how their hollandaise was not very heavy at all and the arugula salad with sweet cherry tomatoes went well with their simple oil/ vinegar dressing. (although their seasoned tater tots were to die for). If it weren't winter, I would have opted to sit outside as they do have a nice outdoor seating area in the rear. Staff was friendly and attentive; I also really loved the fact that this is not your typical sports bar, but a perfect spot to relax, drink, and chat with friends.

Original review: First off gotta start by saying this place is great. Now service. I came in with my friends and ordered a couple of drinks Friday night. The server and bartender WERE SUPER RUDE! The server made snobby comments on not tipping. She brought back the check my friend signed and said "I brought this back to you because you forgot to tip." We informed her that tip was optional BUT we were gonna leave CASH TIP because we're all servers. After asking for the manager, she proceeded to say they (bartender and server) were the managers. She said "your friends come in and never tip." I told her my friends and me are different. Then she proceeded to say "I work Friday nights so don't come in if you don't like the service." I asked for my tip back and was refused the copy of the receipt. The bartender took out the cash and threw them across the bar, saying "DONT COME BACK." I'm a manager at a restaurant and this is unacceptable. I feel disrespected and offended, specially being a local at a bar. WOW

This place rocks. It's $9 for unlimited mimosas and sangria, and the servers are generous! They come out to the dining area with pitchers of this stuff. Your glass is half full? Trust me, they will top you off in less than a minute. The drinks are probably not super strong but I did get tipsy. The food is pretty decent. I love that there's this bomb ass chipotle mayo with the tater tots (sounds fat af but whatever!) And I didn't order their burger but it sure looked delicious on the tables next to me. Totally recommend if you like great deals and chill garden seating!!

My friend and I came here at 12 on a Saturday. We were the only ones there but then t gradually filled up after a couple hours. It definitely wasn't crowded, which was nice. Entrees are $12 and unlimited mimosas are $8. $20 for brunch is pretty great. The menu is very limited; you either get a Benedict, an omelette or their chicken BLT. I got the BLT and really enjoyed it. Eggs also come with fries/tots/or salad. Service was good and mimosas were always full! I would recommend. I look forward to coming back for another simple boozy brunch.

Cute little dive in my new neighborhood! I've been in several times for brunch, dinner, or just a few drinks. It's close to the train, so easy to hit up on the way home. Sounds weird for a bar - but I'm obsessed with their grilled chicken salad..the homemade balsamic dressing OMG.I could drink it! Makes it easy to make a healthy choice there for sure. They have an amazing brunch deal on weekends..$15 for any egg dish and unlimited mimosas or you can add $7 to anything else on the menu to get unlimited mimosas with that. Not the best mimosa I've ever had...but so what...I left pretty buzzed and still had a wallet full of cash! They aren't stingy with the refills either..we never had an empty glass! It tends to get crowded, but no surprise considering what a great deal it is. If you're coming by on a non-brunch day, pretty much everything on the menu (at least what me or my friends have tried) has been great too! Seems like you can't go wrong no matter what you order. Drink prices are average - not super cheap, but affordable. Cute patio out back that I can't wait to sit on once it gets warmer. Bonus that they don't allow smoking out there, so no worries about someones nasty smoke blowing in your face as you try to down your mimosa in peace. See you soon Dominie's!

Dominie's is my go to spot for happy hour, they have a great selection of draft beers and a cool, old school jukebox. I am a fan of brunch here too, they serve typical brunch items all of which are delicious and they keep the mimosas flowing. The bar itself has a very cool and laid back atmosphere and their backyard is a nice bonus during the summer.

As far as my experiences go, I've basically dumbed down my visits to Dominie's on Vernon for two scenarios: A tasty, simple brunch where I don't have to deal with massive waits and late night cappers where I can drink in peace without dealing with the craziness at other nearby drinking holes. Dominie's has maintained a nice balance with its crowds, something not all drinking holes in LIC have mastered as of yet. The interior feels small, even though the bar itself seems substantial. It supports plenty of lonely souls just looking for a chaser in the evening and even more so, maintains a nice easy atmosphere where it feels like a real bar than some gimmick. Like all bars with a story, this interior has some interesting decor and the sit down area is deceivingly plentiful for groups and all sorts of parties. The real money spot is their lowkey backyard, which not only sports a decent amount of seating, but is perfect for that outdoor breeze. Dominie's also fancies themselves as a food establishment. The menu is a simple collection of fast ready food, mostly bar classics, as well a semi-popular brunch service as well. There are benedicts with fries / tater tots, omelets, and burgers; none of which are life changing but certainly make do when the cravings are dire. I personally am more impressed with their burritos and mimosas, the latter of which can be unlimited during the weekend brunch hour. Whether it's about breakfast or beers, the staff at Dominie's are nothing short of fantastic. They're a friendly bunch and a fun group of people to be around. They've been quick to fix any issues from bills, drunkards, and throw in a few buybacks after awhile. As far as neighborhood bars go, Dominie's Hoek is certainly among LIC's better places to grab a drink.

It was okay. Not too bad; we had decent food, and got to sit outside in 90-degree weather. *deadpan* The service was pretty good, and the food, as I said, was edible, but it wasn't dazzling. For lack of anything else, it's a good spot to go have some nosh. I'm pretty sure the beer is the real reason to go. P. S. Don't drink the coffee. I mean, you CAN drink it, but. Uh. No.

Came here to meet a friend after work. Glad I did. Good beer, friendly service, and good food. Here's a few pros about Dominie's Hoek. It's close to the waterfront where you can read, relax, play sports, run, and/or bike. It's great to have a good bar so close. The Hoek has a good happy hour. $5 for a pint of good beer is always a welcome bargin. The food is pretty good. I enjoyed a cheeseburger with fries. Burger was cooked to temp and the fries were also delicious. Although we didn't use it, it seems as though they've got a nice outdoor area, which you should def take advantage with the increasingly pleasant weather. Bar is full of good locals (read: not the obnoxious kind that want the bar to themselves) and our bartender was happy to help us at all times. Here's a few cons about Dominie's Hoek. Meh, none. Can't say anything was really a negative here. I'd give it 5 stars, but I think I'll have to go again before doing so. Go and drink.

Cons: That I didn't know about this place earlier!!! ____________________________________________________________ So early last week I swung my a friend from college's apt in Long Island City so he could take portraits of me for his photo project. He's a fantastic photographer and when the chance popped up with shoot with him I grabbed it :). Afterwards he suggested grabbing some drinks and catching up since I hasn't seen him since his Super Bowl party (where I got to sample Zebra from his travels to Africa, but that's another story for another time). He chose this place because he's a regular here and after hanging out there for a little over an hour, I can totally see why. Dominie's Hoek isn't the first bar ever to boast a selection of board games, but they seriously have A LOT. The only bars I can think of who's selections can come *close* are Zombie Hut in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and The Levee in Williamsburg. My friend taught me how to play Battleship - I went from awful, to coming out of the gates awesome and back to "not so good" but it was super fun! During happy hour I think drafts are $1-2 off and some beers are $3, well drinks are $3-4 and sangria was $4 - they have both red and white. I ordered white, it was delicious - not the best I've ever had, but still deliciously refreshing. I ordered food off of their Happy Hour food menu and decided to go for a $3 taco - they have steak, chicken and a veterinarian black bean/cheese/guacamole option. When I asked our waitress for her recommendation she suggested chicken so I went for it. For $3 I was pleasantly surprised! This taco is really like a mini-burrito. It was super stuffed with delicious chicken which I actually found spicy (there were red pepper flakes, I'm not crazy!! Lol) but it was so, so delicious that I ended up ordering another one - still with the spicy chicken - I mean I could handle it, which to a lot of my friends means it wasn't spicy - although my super-spicy food tolerant friend did admit it was a little spicy. Still, it was delicious and both orders came served with like 5 thick cut nacho chips that tasted homemade and were sticking out of guac - I don't normally even like quac (the texture of avocados freaks me out!) but this stuff was also delicious. I mean damn, lol. With this place having such a fun, chill vibe I definitely plan on returning here with friends and trying more things from their food menu and I really want to do brunch here soon!

Cool bar! Draft beer $5. Tater tots were delicious. Crunchy and perfectly fried. Nachos were very disappointing. They were cold and bland. Beef and Guac looked old. It has a nice outdoor patio.

Definitely one of the bars on the 'cool' side of LIC and with it a bunch of 'cool tourists' that step here to visit one of the 'worthwhile' spots outside of Manhattan. Our server seemed seriously swamped since she had to cover both the inside and outside. They have an all-you can drink mimosa special that's difficult to beat, but with service so slow we were worried that we would only end up having the first one before the time limit on the special was over. Forunately, for us our server was pretty awesome at taking care of both sides of the house, navigating around all the obnoxious people crowding out 95% of the patio to refill the mimosas, taking our food order and then coming to check on us as often as she could. The eggs florentine were good, and the chips and guac with salsa were okay. Honestly, it's probably a lot better than my experience there since the food is good and the service is resiliently friendly.

I wonder if they got a new chef or something because the food and menu has improved greatly since the last time I ate here a few years ago. The place is so clean! Good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Really fantastic pub grub at affordable prices and wonderfully priced beers and well drinks. I also really love the patio in the back on a warmer day, and the service is forever friendly and personable. My one gripe is the beer selection leaves something to be desired, but as far as a dive goes in the neighborhood, Dom's is hard to beat!

This place is known for their brunch but I stumbled in here after a night of eating and drinking on a Friday night. It's cozy, drinks are priced right, and there was a nice vibe to the place. We ordered some bar food and tucked into our drinks and had good conversation. Don't come here at night for drinks if you are looking for a wild scene with hot babes. I would definitely come again later into the night if I wanted a nice place to wind down with friends. Sometimes you need that.

My friend coaxed me into going to Queens with the words "TEN DOLLARS UNLIMITED MIMOSA BRUNCH!" Except, that it was $12. But that's beyond the point. My commute was surprisingly the fastest that I've ever had in my life. Something was in the air on Saturday and the G train was actually going between Brooklyn and Queens. Now was my opportunity. The mimosas? - Good, very good actually. Heavy on the champagne and light on the o.j. and our waiter Jacob with the awesome Casper tattoo definitely kept them flowing even while we were waiting for our fourth friend to arrive and after we had finished our meals and retired over to playing Apples to Apples. They have tons of board games here fyi. The food? - Pretty decent. I ended up getting an omelet and felt that I would have enjoyed my brunch more if I stuck with one of their benedicts. They also forgot to put ham in my eggs and I ended up with mushrooms, peppers, and Colby jack cheese. Sigh. You get 4 items in the omelets, I triple checked this and was mainly why I ordered it because 4 items is exciting! But their fries were pretty tasty and not too soggy and not too crunchy with a lot of flavor. It's definitely a drinks focused instead of the food brunch however. My other friends ended up getting the Spinach, Salmon, and the burger benedict each respectively. The burger benedict looked pretty impressive. Nice chunk of a slider hamburger on there. The chipotle mayo accompaniment is also a nice little touch on the side. Great little garden area outside also makes for a nice boozy day.

Funny how some folks say they're in the service industry & claim they were treated poorly by servers/bartenders who've put up with months of sub-10% tips week after week after week from those reviewers. The regulars at Dominie's knows what local spot these few recent 1 reviews are coming from and they should be embarrassed, ashamed, and apologetic to the folks at Dominie's. Claiming "racism" because you are an awful tipper, despite the fact y'all working in the service industry, is disgusting and offensive. Scroll through the hundreds of reviews and look at all POC who had great service & food here. I happened to be at the bar during this last incident and when the server asked them to complete their receipt with tip and total, they responded 'I thought tips were optional?' Insulting and absurd. Dom's is terrific. Tip your servers appropriately.

Literally wanted to like this place however it's been about 50 minutes since we ordered and we barely got our food. Literally saw the guy next to us, who came in AFTER us order, get his food, and finish his entire meal in the time we were waiting. The mimosa is alright, the sangria was awful, switched it out almost instantaneously when I got it because it was very bad. Not sure if I'll come back... if I get this type of service next time, I'm never coming back. As for the food, it was pretty delicious. There was Canadian bacon under those patties so that was a welcomed surprise. The tots were nicely crisped as well as the fries from what I was able to sample. The chipotle mayo sauce was very delicious. I felt a little bad for the bartender. She was nice enough to apologize for the long wait. It seemed she was the only one running the restaurant, though in our long wait, another server came in. Also, if you're on sprint, service is trash in this building. If you're on AT&T, you're service is pretty good. Oh to top it off, I nicked myself on a nail under the bar trying to find a closer hook to hang my purse. There's not that many hooks under the bar...

**The women bartenders are obviously RACIST. After reading other 1 star reviews all by POC describing the same EXACT situation that happen to my friends and I ** This place is cool only when Billy is there. Ive been coming here for 4 years now (usually when Billy is working) and I've never experienced such rude customer service!! The whole time my friends and I were being treated with attitude and then towards the end when my friend paid with card and signed, the waitress came back and asked for tip, (we were going to leave cash tip since we ourselves are servers and understand cash is better) And on another note who would even want to tip someone that treats you with an un-welcoming attitude the whole time? i would NEVER give such rude customer service. At the end, my friend asked for the tip back because they were being SOO rude and she literally threw it back and yelled at us to never come back. PLEASE DON'T COME HERE!

Really cute little bar on Vernon Blvd. Great drink options, intimate interior and nice courtyard space outback. Will be back!

I'm going to be showing my age here, but I remembered when this used to be 'Branca's Pub'. Used to hang out here back in the '80's with the neighborhood friends that all grew up in Long Island City, and had great times here. Wished that I was still here to see it change and have one last beer before it was 'upgraded' to accommodate the people that live here now. Too bad they will never know what it was like back then to see real friendships that were with you through the good and bad times that happened in your life, for they were there to be there and to get you through them for they knew what it was like to be in a real neighborhood bar with friends that you could count on.
