A fantastic restaurant offering breathtaking views of Meißen's old town from its terrace. Perfect for lunch with generous portions - they even provide binoculars to admire the historic cityscape in detail! Must-try: their incredible Schweinehaxe (pork knuckle). The combination of great food, amazing views, and unique details makes this a top dining experience in Meißen.

Absolutely amazing and incredible restaurant. Food was absolutely incredible and the staff was super nice. Gorgeous view of the city below, daytime or night time. Food was a bit pricy, but well worth it. Highly recommend eating here if your visiting Meißen!

The oldest restaurant in Meissen (opened in 1470). it is great to dine in such a historic setting. Their terrace (open from March to October) offers a fantastic panoramic view of the old town and the Elbe. The restaurant serves traditional Saxon cuisine, delicious wine and fantastic local beer. Excellent coffee. The food (we tried goulash served in bread) was very tasty and beautifully presented. It is worth going either right after the opening of the restaurant (11.30 am) or after lunch (after 1.00 pm), because otherwise there will be no free places on the terrace, or if there are, it will not be the ones with the best view. Fast and professional waiter service. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant on Saturday for dinner without making any reservations. We came at around 5pm, and even though many tables had signs that they are reserved for 7pm, we were still seated at one of them. So if you're planning on going for dinner at a later time, it makes a perfect sense to make a reservation. The food was very tasty, but the service was a bit slow. The view from the terrace is spectacular so when the weather is nice, it's better to sit outside.

The older staff were very professional and friendly. It was the most tender and flavorful pork knuckle I've ever had in Germany. The beautiful scenery, delicious food, and friendly staff make it memorable.

Restaurant with many years of tradition located in a very picturesque place. Very atmospheric and clean place. Service is nice and at a high level. Food is very good, served aesthetically, and the portions are large. Impressions after the visit are very positive. I highly recommend!

We are into tasting local dishes wherever we visit. If you are too don't look further, this is the place to go to. Excellent food for fair prices from fine people with great views from both terrasses. Already tried 6 different dishes and they were all 5 out of 5 for us!

I come to Meissen once a year for a week to teach. This is my favorite restaurant in the city. Great food and good service. And views from the terrace, if you are lucky enough to get one of the table, is among the best in town. And while I do not drink much, the friends I eat with tell me the wine selection is wonderful.

Third trip to Meißen and second trip to this fine German food restaurant on the Castle hilltop. Amazing views and Beir. The food was presented well and taste was top of the game. You won't regret it. Ask for terrace seating.
