Domus Ariadne

September 2025 - Stayed for a single night in the BiancoNero. With street parking non-existent in this area, a (very) short term parking spot is available for luggage unloading. The BiancoNero room was very compact, but included everything necessary for a quick stay prior to an early morning flight. The Nespresso machine was a welcome amenity, as was the refrigerator. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, and the room was quiet. All boxes checked! Giannis was very communicative and helpful during the check-in process. He even arranged for an early morning taxi to the airport. Location was very central, a short walk to great restaurants, museums, and the port. Great property, will return for our next Crete adventure.

I spent three nights at Domus Ariadne with my mom for a holiday in Heraklion. The room was very quiet and clean, and all the furniture was new. The location is close to restaurants and nice bars. The owner, Giannis, was an amazing host — we had some trouble with our flight, and he assisted us every step of the way until we arrived safe and sound in Crete.

Modern, stylish hotel located really close to the Heraklion Archeological Museum and rest of old town. We had the Grigio suite which was the front facing, ground floor room. My partner is sensitive to noise and did hear other guests in the hallway and the front door opening and closing quite regularly. Suggest a rug for the main hall way, soft closer for the front door, or thicker room doors/sound deadening. When raised with Giannis he was responsive and apologetic (however I understand there wasn't much they can do). Perhaps other rooms further from the front are quieter. Other than that the rooms are really nice, decently appointed and have comfortable beds, lots of storage and a fridge. Theres also a secluded communal courtyard with chairs and umbrellas. It's about a 15 minute walk from the port, and only a few minutes into town.

No complaints. The room has the perfect size and distribution. Airco for the hot and humid nights, greeting coffee and water, new and modern bathroom, enough space. We noticed no noise or other guests, maybe we were alone this time. There's a cute indoors terrace to have a drink and chill.

Giannis was a most attentive host - each room was separately named and thoughtfully and well laid out. We had 'serious' luggage with which Giannis was very helpful. Our room also had two balconies - for morning and evening. Fabulous stay at Domus Ariadne - made our experiences in Heraklion and close other towns very special.

Very nice five night stay. Room was very comfortable and a fantastic location handy to the port, bus station, museum and the vibrant life of the old city. Host Giannis was welcoming and helpful. Tea and coffee provided in the room along with a bar fridge.

Very nice small boutique hotel, at an extremely convenient place at the center of the city. The rooms are bright, spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. Owners are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. You can choose what you want and they bring it in your room at the time you want. The only disadvantage is the lack of parking. It's hard to park around there, so you will probably end up paying for parking. Overall, really good and highly recommended.

Great hotel with beautiful rooms to stay in a quieter part of the city center of Heraklion! We had a great time and enjoyed it a lot. Big plus is also the peaceful and amazingly decorated courtyard with seats available for all the guests. Definitely recommend staying here!
