The service was excelente:) The seating outdoor attracted so many bugs when the food came, so I recommend sitting inside The food was not good, the seafood was not cooked well and the taste in general didnt mesh. Maybe I came at wrong time, but overall we can skip this place.

Excellent experience for an impromptu dinner in Rio. We had walked into the restaurant by chance earlier in the day and decided to visit for dinner. Absolutely loved our dinner here. We had the lasagna, and the bow tie pasta. The sangria was awesome and the sweetest touch to the night was being serenaded by the three-piece band and I got the chance to sing with them as well. Beautiful staff. Please give this little slice of Italy in the middle of the Copacabana strip a try. You won’t regret it.

We went here a couple of days back. A popular italian place on Copacabana recommended by Blumar Tours. Our experience was not good. Lasagna was overcooked so that the pasta was mushy. Waiter did not know what to do but called the manager who agreed to replace it. Ordered the veal ravioli with truffle sauce. Veal stuffing was fine, ravioli was overcooked and the sauce was like Campbell's mushroom soup. My guest was having a better experience and enjoying the clam speghetti - until he found a hair in it. The manager was called again - he took the dish away and did not charge for it - but no words uttered, no contrition or appology. It is incomprehensible why this retaurant is on Blumar's printed recommended list.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel and we checked it out. The service here was outstanding. Unfortunately the food didn't follow suit. It was just okay. The portions are large and the main dishes can be shared between two people. My pasta was chewy and sauce was a touch bland. The location was wonderful and we sat under the tent outside with the sea breeze and the cacophony of the Rio traffic. They also had live music with some old musicians playing some tunes and also played by some customer's request.

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in Copacabana. The service and the food are excellent and I love the view on Copacabana. Their Parmesan is very tasty and they offer a selection of Italian deserts. We paid R$ 328 for two main courses, two cocktails and two deserts.

Compared to a traditional carbonara, this was a bit creamier than expected, but fine overall. The calamari starter was also good, but the restaurant didn’t have cocktail sauce, which would’ve went much better than the tartar-style sauce served. My low rating is for the bait and switch by the server in paying separately for my food from the group. I was charged in USD despite being shown reals on the screen, which involved a 12% markup. Please double check before paying! I made sure that others in my group would be charged appropriately. I also didn’t notice the musician fee charged to our table until after reading other reviews. I don’t mind compensating the musicians, but they played 10 minutes at most. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, this is a decent place but for me, conducting business ethically is of highest importance. I’d suggest staying away from this place due to the shady billing practices and finding other local Italian spots.

Unfortunately - the food is absolutely over priced. Total dissapointment in freshness and taste. Would not recommend! Worse restaurant in Rio be far!

Yelp
Jan.2025 We visited Don Camillo on the Copacabana Beach strip. The atmosphere takes you to Italy. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff could not be more accommodating. In fact we enjoyed it so much we went back a second time. Same result. Great food, good value and wonderful atmosphere. On top of all this you will not break the vacation budget going there. Highly recommend it. Dave M. Ontario Canada

Yelp
Great place. The shrimp risotto was great. The daily dishes looked delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Since my trip to Italy, I have been very picky when it comes to finding authentic Italian cuisine. One evening during my trip to Rio in Copacabana, my friend and I decided to try Dom Camillo. And, I must say it was a lovely gem in the city especially compared to the other meals I had eaten on this trip. I was not even going to order, but I decided to give the Spaghetti Carbonara a try. I'm so glad I did because it was simply delicious. The portion size was great, and while I probably should have saved some for later, I could not stop eating. The meal and atmosphere were quite enjoyable. Plus, the waiters were attentive to our needs. We were so pleased that we decided to go again the next day. This time a live orchestral band was featured which heightened the atmosphere even more. So if you are looking for a great restaurant in Copacabana, Don Camillo's is the place to go! Ciao!

Yelp
Brazilian hospitality doesn't invoke those warm fuzzies. Rather the charm comes from that gruff, no beating around the bush attitude. It's kinda like the rough, tough love between brothers. But honestly, I don't find Brazilian hospitality very fitting or proper at this rather upscale-ish Italian restaurant. The food - meh. Our party of 10 tried everything - from pasta to pizza, white to red wines, melon-prosciutto to ceaser salad. They were all sub par :(. What did I expect from an Italian joint in Rio De Janeiro? One HUGE redeeming feature here was the live music. Live mariachi-style-but-not-really-Latin old-timers band. They are good and they keep the atmosphere alive! Would I return here? Their business seems to be driven by tourist, so unlikely. The desserts came out melted. My advice - pass on the dessert. There was mandatory service charge (for poor service). Poor poor form.

Yelp
Live Italian music, great italian food. Kind of pricey but hey you are right on copacabana beach, what can you do? I ended up ordering plain spaghetti and tomato sauce (by accident). It was simple, but still really excellent. Friends had shrimp with alfredo sauce and liked it a lot and generally we were all happy with our food. The atmosphere was quite lovely with music being played by older gentleman and singing and all the waiters were dressed quite nicely. If I was back in Rio with someone special I'd definitely pick this as a great date place.

Yelp
Been here twice. First time, I ordered their mussels for starters and pizza for main. I was not very impressed with either of it and for the price, I was rather reluctant to go back. Went back for the second time as it was recommended to me that pasta there is really good (but I got distracted....). Since there were 6 of us, we ordered their bread basket. The breads there are heavy, which I love. For main, I ordered their lamb chop (yay! lamb!). It came with a side (a good amount too) of saffron rice... which tasted and looked very much like a rice version of mac & cheese (a friend told me there is actually such a thing as rice and cheese in the box - like how you would get Kraft's mac & cheese....). Lamb was tender and very properly cooked. Absolutely delicious! Price was at about R$89 though (for the main only), but I would recommend it. Would go back again if I feel like lamb chops - I am always always glad to find places that serves lamb in Rio :-)

Yelp
From where it's located - I'll say right away that it's a touristic place. But when we were there at the very end of the lunch time - seemed like there were only we and few locals. We wanted something light and ordered carpaccio of salmon and tuna and of something else. Tuna seemed and tasted a lot like a swordfish. There was not much of Carpaccio, but pretty nice dish, especially in hot summer weather. The second choice was Pizza with shrimps. I asked to add tomatoes in there and that's good - they made this pizza more brisk and vivid. Also arugula was supposed to be on top, but the grass they put seemed and tasted more like sorrel to me. Shrimps were previously frozen of course, and not too many of them, but still pretty good for a touristic place. And the pizza dough was pretty slim and delicious itself. We ordered to share with our meals a bottle of Brazilian sparkling Mumm, very good quality for a reasonable price. Service was good, quite fast and attentive. So, if you're passing by looking for a place for a quick bite and don't expect anything special - that might be the one.

Yelp
Great Italian restaurant in the heart of the famous avenue of Copacabana. Outstanding service and great view if you sit on the outdoor patio. Food looks and tastes homemade and of excellent quality. Great place to go if you miss/crave Italian food while in Rio.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a recommendation from our hotel. Servers were pleasant. There was live music In the main restaurant, but we opted to eat outside to people watch. We had pizza and a couple of pasta dishes. All the food options we ordered were good. I have No complaints about the experience!

Yelp
I came here for their restaurant week menu and the food was surprisingly better than expected here. I sampled the beef scallopini with mushroom sauce and risotto and it was pretty good. Sister in law had ravioli stuffed with fish in a tomato sauce and that was kind of a letdown. I got the diavola pizza and it was good but nothing special and spicy salami had no spice whatsoever. Restaurant week prices were great but normal menu prices are kind of steep, the reason I only give 3 stars. Location is very nice and service is fine.

Yelp
Really good, worth a visit, tasty and fresh red snapper and an unbelievable hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Yelp
Very good value! Appears touristy, maybe yes, but the service and food are of very good quality. Every time in Rio i go at least twice. The Maitre'd, Alberto, appears very formal, but he is attentive, converses in several languages and knows what service is. i prefer the varanda but the interior is very nice. Not a big fan of the wandering musicians, but... The pastas are al dente, good sauces. An entree of prosciutto, mussarela de bufala and foccacia - delicious and a meal in itself. Meat and fish dishes are presented in copper pans straight from the kitchen and then put on dishes to be served. The side of pizza bianca is out of Napoli. A 15% service but it's how they keep waiters on staff. Worth it. r$36 for spaghetti al pomodoro is not expensive, especially in Rio.
