Best Things to Do in Buenos Aires

"Ranked number three on Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants and number 10 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants, Don Julio is where I order a steak with an Argentinian Malbec—service is top-notch from the welcome glass of sparkling wine onward, and I strongly recommend making reservations in advance." - Harrison Pierce Harrison Pierce Harrison Pierce is a freelance writer and digital nomad passionate about personal finance and travel. Google
First time visiting this peruvian restaurant Very good food and order came in a timely manner , servers were attentive and helpful , little confusion in the begining while waiting for table , main room is in the back , the front looks small and have tables as well so a bid confusion as first time guests. Overall great food , good service and well priced

Google
Incredible Chifa. Relaxed atmosphere. Great service. Good sized portions. Traditional Peruvian food on menu too. Pricing is reasonable, but I usually wind up ordering a smorgasbord of food for the table, so check total winds up being higher than necessary! Helps to speak Spanish as most of the wait staff have limited English, but always one or two waitresses that habla English

Google
Excellent spot for chifa. Plates are affordable and the large size is definitely excellent for sharing with the table. Chaufa de Carne was spot on, as well as the Tallerines. The Wantan soup we had for starters, super delicious. And of course a pitcher of chicha morada for the table goes without saying!

YASMID G.

Google
The food is super Delicious and the Chicha Resfreshing! The size of the portions are way bigger than expected! 😊 😋 The service is good and attentive. Highly recommend this place. It's definitely worth the hour drive for me! 😊

Google
A good view of the Arthur Kill Vertical Lift Bridge can be found at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Elizabeth, NJ. Bonus: We had a great lunch at the Don Julio Restaurant across the street. Highly recommend the delicious Pollo a la Brasa (rotisserie)!

Alberte O.

Google
The Red onion salad and fabulous rice was delicious. The serving size for a large party was beyond enough.

Jorge T.

Google
The salad and breaded fish filet with fried green bananas I had was very good. The service was OK but you have to call for it and then wait. Be careful with the check. I was charged a higher tax rate than the 6.625% NJ requires.

Edwin A.

Google
Customer service is very bad. Waiting for more than 30 minutes at the reception for a table of 7 people, then they tell us that they do not have an area for a large group; What should we do with that answer? (It is not our restaurant, you must solve the situation) . Once seated at the table, the service of the tables is very slow and they are not friendly, much less courteous. The line manager / or boss (an Asian person), she is unpleasant, she should be more attentive to the needs of everything that happens in the restaurant.

Yelp
Had a very bad experience twice. First time, they rushed my family out of the place, gave us faces and attitudes, whenever we asked for sauces or drinks. Terrible service. Second time, the food was stale, onions and food was dead, like old as it sat there all day. The halea was stale, the wonton as well was stale. We drove back for a refund, and the lady refused to refund the money. The atmosphere is beyond disgusting at this place.

Yelp
I have come here many times & the food is always great. The service is always somewhat slow but I've always overlooked this issue. The ambiance is peaceful & family friendly. They have been recently raising the prices. This would probably not be advisable since there is a huge influx of Peruvian restaurants in the area. One of their dishes sells for $40 meanwhile I have found another great Peruvian place, 'Se Salio el Pollo', that has an equally good version for $23 and the portion is bigger. I fear Don Julio is shooting itself in the foot...

Jessenia P.

Yelp
The food here is terrible, they gave us hard stale food. Did not look freshly made & the service in that place is horrible on top. They talk to you with an attitude & the way the look at you. I ordered halea & it was really hard, the texture was bad, was cold. I also ordered wonton frito & it was stale, I couldn't even bite into it. I also order chorros a la chalaca, was terrible. The onions on the chorro was dead, the tomatoes all squishy, not fresh & on top it had oil. I'm Peruvian & you do not pour a whole bunch of oil on chorro's a la chalaca. I will never go back! I don't recommend this place to nobody, food sucks. If only there was a zero star review, that's what I would give. Doesn't even deserve a 1 star review.

Yelp
For those who love traditional Peruvian food, this place probably has THE BEST cuisines in our area. But my favorite dish here by far is their Chaufa Chifa platter. Wow. And because I am vegan they load it up with extra asian veggies in place of their meats amd eggs. But the flavors are perfect especially with their mildly spicy green sauce (salsa verde). Very family friendly and budget friendly too. Casual atmosphere and take-out is also available.

Yelp
Second time back here and it's better than the first time. The portions are large and the price very fair. Food is delicious. I definitely recommend the chaufa special (fried rice with pork, chicken and shrimp). Also had the fried fish and fries and bisteak a lo pobre (sirloin with fries and salad). The fish was okay, a bit bland. The steak was good, tasty and tender. The stars are entirely for the food and service. Although the place was packed we were served fast and efficiently.

Yelp
Food was on point service wasn't that great but honestly the food was so good made up for the spotty service.

Yelp
Well known local Peruvian restaurant located in the "Port". Best known for ceviche, chicken and chaufa. Portions are HUGE. Hole in the wall kinda place with great food. Good for a family dinner
google avatar

Yelp
Overlooking the Newark Bay and the Elizabethport Marina, you'll find Don Julio Restaurant & Chifa Men Wha. Don Julio's serves as an excellent example of the diverse cuisine of Peru. Owned and operated by a Chinese family from Peru, the menu is reflective of typical Peruvian dishes, Peruvian-Chifa dishes, as well as a separate Chinese menu. Your best bet here is to order the famous Peruvian-Chifa dishes such as lomo saltado or chaufa (fried rice). They even have a Peruvian charcoal rotisserie oven for delicious pollo a la brasa. The prices here are a bit high for the area, but you're sure to get a consistently delicious meal!

Yelp
Some tips 1. The "no bathroom available" sign in front should read, "bathroom for customers only". The current sign will likely drive customers away who would like to eat at your facility . 2. The way the entrance is set up when you first walk makes it seem as though you're not accepting in-door dining . The handwritten signs that say not to sit, and another handwritten sign that says "ask for a table" is too confusing. 3. The family of 5 that was behind me at extremely close proximity (even after they saw me move forward to increase the distance between us ) should not have been allowed to skip me. Front cashier woman clearly saw that I was next, and the family behind me just walked in front of me and skipped and was taken "to the back" where you have tables and seating. Very disappointed that after all of this confusion , your tables were now full. Very disappointed .

Yelp
Yo eh venido a este reataurante por años y nunca estado mas decepcionada. Este ERA mi favorito restaurante antes que vi mosquitos por toda la sopera de wantan. ASQUEROSO !! NI MAS vengo . Y PUNTO.

Yelp
Really delicious Peruvian and Chinese-Peruvian food! (There's chinese food, and then there's Peruvian Chinese food!! Big difference in taste!) But don't take my word for it, try it for yourselves. The place itself is low key, so I wouldn't recommend you come here on a first date. There's only off street parking, so you may need to park around the block. However these shouldn't deter you from trying this place.

Yelp
This place used to be a very nice restaurant, but after the pandemic, it turned a horrible store. I placed an order for pick up for only 1 order. I believe that is $15 dish. When My husband went there to pick up, he saw that the plastic bag was tightly tied, so he didn't check the inside of the order. He paid with a credit card and when I saw the receipt, there was unknown dish was included. They sneakily added a dish that we didn't order, and charged us (I know my husband should've realized at the time of card processing). I understand that restaurants struggle during this unprecedented time, but charging something a customer didn't even order is not acceptable. I don't think I will ever visit the store again.

Yelp
Came here this weekend for the first time. When I first walked in I got scared because it didn't look like a sit in restaurant. The sit in area was towards the back which is not visible when you first walk in. The area was cute, nothing on the wow factor, but it was clean and clutter free. The only thing i would sugguest is to space out the tables a little more for extra walking space, but I guess they needed more tables in there since this place gets pretty busy. I have gone to several peruvian restaurants and am a huge fan of their food. So far, this place has the best authentic peruvian food. We had Arroz Chaufa, Papa la hauncaina, and ceviche. The only thing I would sugguest is if you dont like spicy food to state so when you order the ceviche. I love it so it didn't bother me as much as my sister. Another thing I liked about their Ceviche was the fact that they used good shrimp lol. I have received ceviche from other restaurants with bootleg shrimp and the ity bities which is a huge no-no. Thank God that wasn't an issue here. The portion served is also very good for their price. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy, but the food didn't take long to come out which is a plus. The waiter was very attentative and friendly. I'm so happy I was introduced to this place because this is my new peruvian spot :)

Yelp
Although not the typical outdoor seafood place I like stopping at when boating at home, my dad was raving about this place so I had to try it! There is a dock a block or two from the restaurant so we took the boat over for lunch. It doesn't look like a sit down restaurant when you walk in but there are tables around the back and a sign reading seat yourself. When we walked around back, it was packed for lunch. The staff were really friendly and told us they would clear a table and it wouldn't be too long of a wait. Portions are HUGE! We ordered 3 things for the four of us to share and had a ton left over, everything was phenomenal. Ceviche with fish and shrimp was unreal, such a large portion for a great price. They ask if you want it spicy, we said no b/c mom doesn't like spicy - it was still flavorful and delicious. My mouth is watering thinking about it! My brother ordered the Bisteack con Tallarines Verdes, which comes with noodles in green sauce. He is a picky eater so asked for the green sauce on the side - the waiter looked at him funny and assured him it was amazing but said he would bring it on the side anyway. We all ended up loving the green sauce, including my brother, who poured it on the noodles anyway. Yumm green sauce. It was out of this world, it was something like a pesto but creamier, not oil based. I dipped the steak and some seafood in it, I couldn't get enough. We also had a mix of fried seafood - this was good but my least favorite. We would of had enough food without this and ended up bringing most of it home. The steak and ceviche was all gone and I would highly suggest ordering both those options. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This is by far and away my favorite restaurant in New Jersey. While I'm sure that everything that they serve is equally delicious, I almost always end up getting the lomo saltado every time I come here. The staff are prompt and respectful, and i absolutely love the way the decor calls upon the unique culture of Peru. One of my favorite things to do with y friends when we do feel like eating outdoors though is to get some food to go (with a to go pitcher of their delicious limeade of course) and sit across the street in the park as we watch the barges come in. You truly cannot go wrong with this restaurant; and after all my years of coming here it has earned a very special place in my heart.

Yelp

Yelp
This I s 2nd time for me to come here. Last time I came with my friends so we shared some dishes. But this time is only me. So I selected Special fried rice as it was good from 1st time. This is small portion but for me it is enough.

Yelp
This restaurant does not understand what a service dog is. I think the restaurant needs to be better educated as to what service animal actually is.

Yelp
Tos place is ok For a quick lunch not if u really want to eat good Peruvian food, service is ok a little bit slow, didn't know the menu that well and the food is a little bland.. I don't reend this place for group maybe just a quick bit and not a place that u would come all the time..

Yelp
Best parihuela in town! The prices are a little high, as there are cheaper options in Elizabeth, but I always come for the parihuela. There really isn't a dish here that I don't like, so it's definitely worth the money (salchipapa, arroz chaufa, lomo saltado, etc).

Yelp
Ughh how much I hate leaving a bad review.... But honesty is the best policy!!! So I came here because my mom said she really enjoyed the food here - I should of known better than to trust my mommas palate - When I first started cooking she used to tell me my cooking skills were better than hers - Meanwhile the food I cooked was either burnt salty or some ish - So anyway we decided to eat in and sat down - can't complain everything came out rapidly... Our butts didn't even touch the seats and instantly got water , a jar with ice and Peruvian corn.. For appetizer we ordered the spicy ceviche mixto ( octopus, scallops, fish, and shrimp) It was good but didn't get to finish it because next thing we know our entrees made it to the table ( see what I mean by every thing came out too fast ) Our entree whole chicken, w fries, salad and arroz chaufa mixto for hubby and I . My mom ordered fried whole fish, rice and salad ... Ughhh the disappointment! Let's just say only my mom enjoyed the food... Although I'm not Peruvian I swear I must of been in my past life and this tasted nothing Peruvian OK I know it's supposed to be a Peruvian Chinese kind of fusion restaurant but there's no excuse of why the green sauce tasted like watered down mustard and cilantro and why the chicken was tasteless and cold!!! As a matter of fact, all the food was cold and the ceviche which should of been the only cold item was lukewarm ( really??? ) Now if u read my other reviews , u would know how much I detest cold food - I rather burn my mouth and blow my food than eat cold food ... Ughhh and the fries weren't fries it was more like fried mash potatoes .... only reason I give a 2 is because service was actually magnificent-it doesn't end here but I just can't go further more with how bad the food was and the added $10 tip .... Nope I will never come back!!!

Yelp
I went to this place by a friend's recommendation and let me tell you that I did not regret it! I used to travel all the way to Dover to have "good Peruvian food" but not anymore! This place is the best! Everything that we order was a HIT! I will be there often for sure and definitely recommend this restaurant! (Btw is BYOB)
google avatar

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
The place has good Peruvian food... My problem is the waitresses. I had the CRAPPIEST waitress ever, who NEVER came back to bring our drinks or ask us if everything was okay... I would ask her for things and I would never get it brought... The WORST part is when they brought me the bill for THREE of us and they included the tip... I don't mind giving a tip, but when i went to go pay , this one lady and her big group of friends were paying their bill first and I noticed there was NO TIP CHARGED to them!!!!! So you're gonna charge ME for tip for only three people but go ahead and not charge the tip to other people ?????!! lol like what are they thinking ??? You better believe I said something. I only come here because my parents force me to but definitely won't be coming here for a while.

Yelp
Me and my Boy AG decided that we were going to hit this place up in Elizabeth up for what he raved was amazing Leche De Tigre Ceviche...I was down for this. What I didn't expect was to be down with the whole menu and really fall in love with this place. 1) BYOB 2) Friendly Staff and Cheery Service, during a slight thursday evening dinner rush as well. 3) Ceviche was definitely on point. I had the fluke, he had the aforementioned LDT amazing favors from them both 4) The green Sauce, Plentiful in a squirt bottle 5) Here is where I lost my mind, the Corvina Fried Red Snapper was so amazingly delicately friend ( and I normally avoid fried food) I was in love with this fish, I doused the half I didnt finish in their green sauce, and when I got home I added Asian ( Vietnamese) Fish sauce, unbelievable 6) Service did I mention the ample glasses of water and Ice and Soda that they piled up on my table..... I love that 7) Sharing a great meal with a great friend, and I love when someone brings me to a place they love and think I may really like, that is really such a great thing to me. Not just because I am critical, but sharing a good meal is an important experience when it is done right, and AG impressed me yo! We will be back. I am counting on it. You should try it as well if you like Latin American food done well.

Yelp
First off, it's BYOB (no corkage fee). I'd probably walk out if they charged a corkage fee. Next thing, the portions are tremendous. Lastly, the prices are very, very affordable. If you're a first-timer, then here's a rundown of what's really good: Lomo Saltado - great representation, very true to form Ceviche Pescado - get it spicy and you'll never keep your mouth closed Ceviche Mixto - so much seafood, so little time Chicharron de Pollo - crispy, crunchy, delicious Chicharron de Calamar - the portion is outstanding You may have a hard time trying to find parking because the restaurant is located within a residential area. However, once you do secure a spot you will not be disappointed. The food is authentic and the flavors are a great representation of what Peru is about, at least in the gastronomic sense. I can say with confidence that this is the best Peruvian restaurant I've been to in Jersey. And that's saying something...

Wilson S.

Yelp
It all started with the entrance, in order to get a table in the main dining room you have to go through the drink alley where waiting staff are preparing sauces and drinks. Service was mediocre and the Chichen saltado was flavorless. The only good dish were the "choros a la chalaca ". It sure needs a good manager to train the waiting staff and keep this place clean.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Ok I am not Peruvian, however, I understand the culture and enjoy eating the food. Don Julio was recommended by a co-worker, who is not Peruvian but also loves the food. I must say that my co-worker did not embellish and gave me an accurate assessment of the restaurant. The food was excellent; well prepared and properly seasoned. The ceviche mixto and lomo saltado and arroz chaufa is the best i have had in years. The serving staff was attentive and friendly. The portions are very large and you could feed at least 2 or 3 people with one plate, so I recommend that you eat family style :-) The only reason I did not give this little slice of Peruvian heaven 5 stars was becuase of the location. In closing I would like to thank my server Anita for her great personality and warm smile; that made my experience much more pleasant. Regards,

Yelp
I was disappointed with my dinner. I love Peruvian food and had just gotten back from a 1.5 week trip to Peru. Many of the items that I wanted were "gone". It was a Tuesday night and it was very slow. To be out, they must have an amazing lunch business or they don't order very well. While the portions were big, I didn't want to eat mine. The chicken was way over-cooked and tasted like it has been fried 2x before. The yuca was good though. My partner liked his dinner. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. Perhaps I just got them on a bad night but would not likely give them a 2nd chance.

Yelp
So i came here with 2 friends yesterday based on the reviews of 1 of them have eaten here before. The ceviche was delicious, but after that was when my experience took a huge down turn. My friend ordered 3 entrees, one for each, since she spoke Peruvian. The entrees come out, but only for 2. I waited for mine, but it never came out because the waitress never thought "3 people 3 dishes"...smh. When they do finally bring out my steak with a fried egg on top, the whole dish was swimming in grease. They did such a rush job, that the fries were barely cooked and extremely soggy from the grease of the steak they just threw on top. The eggs were so over cooked that the yokes were dry. I couldn't bare to finish because I was so turned off from all the grease. We then proceed to ask for our check and when they do bring it out, they tried over charging us by $6.00. If we didn't bother to look at the prices on the check, we would have paid it without realizing. I advise everyone to review the prices on the check before paying. When I bring the money to the front to pay, I don't even get my change back. Even though it was only $0.40, it's the principal. I won't be coming back to this place. The only reason they even get 2 star is because of the ceviche and I can go to plenty other places for that. Horrible experience at a restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
I came about this place solely on the reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was much different from the several reviews. I have had my good share of Peruvian cuisine and this was disappointment. Let's first talk about the stale wonton strips we got upon sitting at our table (that should of been our first red flag). We proceed to order our food which now that I think about it came out pretty quick. However, our tallerin and arroz chaufa was tasteless. After getting our bill we spotted fruit flies on the wall and that's when we had enough, paid for our bill and left. I truly was hoping this was going to be those hole in the wall with amazing food kind of place but instead it was just a hole in the wall.

Sonia F.

Yelp
Service was terrible , food was reheated, had to literally call the restaurant for them to come to our table to ask for something to drink
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Awesome Peruvian food across the board. Ceviche, lomo, chaufa (fried rice), jalea, etc. all prepared extremely well.

Jesus L.

Yelp
**CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING** This restaurant has the worst service. The waitresses are huddled in a hallway where they block and bump into customers. And when you approach the hallway you're met with unwelcomed stares. Seating is based on wherever you feel like and to get the waitresses attention you need to be vigilante on where your waitress is. My experience: When we asked our waitress for a cup, I watched her creep back to her hallway and hangout with the other waitresses. When we couldn't wait anymore for a cup, we went to the hallway of malice to get told, "Can't you wait?!" After eating our meal requesting the bill took an additional 20 minutes because our waitress needed to hangout Our bill came with tip included which we refused to pay. Tip is warranted with good service. Not poor service. If you want good service with good Peruvian food just go to the original Don Julio owners restaurant. It's called Don Julio on Wood Avenue in Linden.

Yelp
The service was pretty quick but they were really busy & seemed to have forgotten basic dinning-in things, like our water, forks to eat with etc... Overall a pretty cool lunch spot

Yelp
Not a good experience tonight... Very disappointed.. I think the regular cook is on vacation.... The food was plain

Yelp
My first time checking out this place and I'm in LOVE with it!!!!! Very cordial and friendly staff who made me feel right at home! I ordered a 1/2 Pollo a la Brasa and Arroz Chaufa (Sam Si i think) and it was the BEST!!! Best Peruvian-Chinese combo you can ask for! I had two Mora drinks and a Torta Chocolat to top it off. It was worth the drive to this place! I will come again for sure!! Muchas gracias!!

Yelp
Palta rellena avacado filled with chicken, potatoes, vegetables and mayo and bisteck a lo pobre sirloin steak with eggs, fried plantains, rice beans = DELICIOUS!

Yelp
Great Peruvian food... Papa a lá Huancayna is amazing, just like in Lima... The ceviche is superb...
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
This is absolutely one of my favorite places to go when trying to get large portions of flavorful Chinese Peruvian food. About every other week I am ordering a large vegetable fried rice that Feeds a family of 4 for 2 days. The rotisserie chicken is also a huge favorite and when I feel like spoiling myself with seafood I get the mixed ceviche. The pulpo is a bit too firm and that monster corn is flavorless. I wished that the menus (I have 2) were merged and described in more detail in English.
google avatar

Luis I.

Yelp
As a fellow Peruvian I decided to come out here for Independence Day. Boy I did not regret this. I was to be sat down and our waiter greeted us and took down our drinks. We were served some type of Chinese snack as this place is a Peruvian Asian place as well. Drinks came out all good and we put in our order. The food came out in literally ten minutes and I was a bit speculative. I don't know what happens in that kitchen other than magic because I chowed down my food. The steak was soft and tender and flavorful and my soup was blistering with flavor. The only thing stopping here was waiter attitude. Not that she was bad but it's as if she hated her job which is fine but a smile goes a long way. Other than lovable waiter.
google avatar

Peter V.

Yelp
Food is fine but the service is terrible. I do not recomment coming here on a special place.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and take your money up the street to people that value your time and business, El Tiburon (Yelp them ) And if you don't believe me, bare with me through this essay and you'll understand just why. So, I decided to go against my family's request and ask to go here for my birthday dinner,it was seriously the worst decision. We walked in at 8:30pm on a Thurs,it was noticeably busy. We waited about 20mins to get a table for 5adults 2babies,wouldn't be bad if they had a place for patrons to sit at.This place has tables so closely together you could practically eat off of a person's plate from the table next to yours. As soon as we sit down, the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. We brought wine and champagne since it was byob. She looked annoyed that we weren't ordering drinks,ok.The glasses took another 10 mins and the ice came in the form of a cup with a spoon, again,ok.By this time we were all ready to order. She advices us to order everything we wanted all at once because they don't take orders broken up. Ok, why can't you take appetizer orders and then entrees orders like every other restaurant on a semi busy week day night? For a total of 15 tables and 6 waitresses I would assume they could handle their tables timely & accommodate them as much as possible. That's fine, still not complaining because I'm about the FOOD. Bad service usually means they have something to be arrogant about. Let's let the food do the talking. We put in our order I had heard great reviews about the palta rellena, only to hear, they didn't have anymore. For appetizers we order ceviche mixto & yuca a la huancaina. (Backstory: Ok, so before coming here I read one reviewer say that she was able to order the tallarines verdes without the green sauce and I was floored! I have literally asked Peruvian restaurants if they could do that for my 2 year old and no one had been able to do it. So, even though my son loves noodles he never tried it before because of the sauce).I was so happy to order that for him, only to be told that they don't do that. I explained to my waitress to please ask the chef because I read that it was done before & please my son is not only a picky eater he has a lot of food allergies so we try to stick to his favorites. She again said it could not be done and didn't even bother asking for me.Ok, by this time you could understand my frustration,I hope. Moving on,we order a parihuela, kamlu wonton, pescsdo frito, jalea, & I'll take the churrasco a lo macho(surf n turf).AGAIN, only to be told they just sold the last steak.Ok, I was determined to be a good sport and put my best foot forward as long as it meant eating some good food on my birthday. I ordered the arroz con mariscos- I know they'll have that. After about what seemed to be 20 mins of just ordering, we sat hungry and wishing we could have just been able to put the app order in first. Our waitress leaves and I see something that's called orgyia de mariscos,(literally translated to seafood orgy) sounds like something I gotta try. I quickly tell my husband to motion the waitress but, he couldn't find her. He gets up and goes to the door of the kitchen and asks to speak to her. She comes to the table and plainly says NO. I kid you not, it hadn't been more than 5 mins after we put our order in and most of our food started coming out at the same time!!! She says my food is already being prepared and it's too late to change my mind.Ok, this is where I draw the line- this has to be a joke! You're trying to tell me my food was cooked to order in 5 mins! That's beyond absurd!I demanded to speak to a manager. In comes a small older women and explains that there was nothing they could do.I explained it was my birthday and I originally wanted the steak, but it was all out and if she could please just change my order and make an exception. All the while,I was talking to her my food hadn't come out.She again said there was nothing she could do and sorry. I told her I would write a review because the service was terrible and as manager she could do better. She said that was fine and walked away.My food came promptly after. I couldn't believe it, having worked in this industry for over 10 years, I had never seen this happen before. The waitress came back to the table and suggested I order what I wanted either way and just take the rest home. Thanks for that.I had my food wrapped, my family ate.The rest of the evening was quiet,we didn't even drink or celebrate or bring the cake from the car because it wasn't worth it.I was sad I had dragged my family out for this awful experience. To add insult to injury, when the bill came and automatic gratuity had been added. I guess this restaurant does things their own way..Trust me, there is way better food in Elizabeth. This is my first ever review. It was this bad that I had to create an account and follow through with my word. As for the food you gotta ask my dog(doggy bag)

Yelp
Food is amazing. The service is terrible. They need customer service lessons. Never went to a place were you ask about some dishes you don't know and instead you get a face. Awful!

Yelp
No issues when I usually come here. Food is usually quick to be served, and very good. Yes sometimes usually busy and a little tight but the pros outweigh the con. The waitress we had was great.

Yelp
Never sat inside the restaurant, usually take it to go. But easily one of my favorite. I always gets pollo saltado and it is enough for 3 good sized meals. Good service, good prices for the portion, and always delicious.

Yelp
Great peruvian chifa (Chinese- Peruvian cuisine), they have 2 menus one for the Chifa food and one for the traditional Peruvian food (comida criolla) so there are many options to choose from. I have tried many of their plates and I have not yet been disappointed, portions are huge and prices are decent. I recommend the classic lomo saltado, order with a glass of chicha morada (purple corn drink) and enjoy. The service is spotty, even on week days when the restaurant is not too busy.

Yelp
Don Julio was my place to go for ceviche when it was still owned by Don Julio himself. When it became chifa I gave it a try, and ordered Tallarin estilo Chifa, what a disappointment, it was just a plate filled with noddles, hardly any chicken and flavorless. Maybe I'll give it another try and order arroz chaufa.

Yelp
Food is decent. But the service is absolutely horrible. Attempted to speak to owner about our bad experience, but she showed no concern. First our dish came incomplete, after pointing it out to the waitress, she took it back to the kitchen. New corrected dish was brought back in a really dirty plate. Second my son's simple plate (fish filet) took so long that everyone else was finished with their meal by the time it was brought out. Horrible experience.
