"Threads of the old Sayulita still live on at Don Pedro's. This beachfront institution is one of the town's oldest spots, with the best view overlooking Playa Sayulita. Rabinor recommends visiting Don Pedro's on Mondays between October and June for their legendary salsa nights." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Just had an awesome wood fired pizza Margherita at a quiet outdoor table in a nice place, right on the beach listening to the waves. Seriously perfect, and I'm picky! Rocky was a top notch server, he packed my leftover pizza for me at the table like a pro (which he is), and tidied up my table perfectly (no crumbs!) so I could enjoy the view after dinner and relax. My food came quickly. I also had the butternut squash soup which was very good. I wasn't sure about getting pizza here as it's not necessarily a pizza specializing place? But it was up there with the best I've had, the wood fired taste was so good. It was also only like $1 more to have it here rather than a noisy crowded cafe downtown, totally worth it for the quiet ambience, service, peace, and the view of the water.

I’ve been a few times here and while good is delicious and the view is excellent, the service has been wonderful and truly the best part. Burrata salad is one of my favorites, they have a wonderful sauce on it. Just an all around great experience and it always helps that in Mondays they have a salsa night!

Google
Food was so yummy with a good variety for the family. We had the mahi mahi and filet (medium rare and was very tender). Save room for a heirloom desserts. So good!

Google
It’s a very beautiful seaside restaurant. The seafood is fresh and delicious. The view is amazing. It’s really relaxed to eat and drink there.

Dave Gray

Google
This is the iconic beach restaurant of Sayilita. Mondays salsa dancing. Great food and drinks. Right on the beach. Not cheap for Mexico, but worth the splurge.

Google
Great food. Ate here twice during our vacation. My daughter begged me to eat here for lunch today so she could eat their sushi again. First trip I had their shrimp tacos and they were good (Marys were better). However, the second trip I had their thai ceviche and it was great. Would definitely recommend it.

Don Pedros is the perfect place to catch a sunset and a great meal. One of the more upscale places in town for a celebration dinner, or just a date night out. The sushi is 10/10 and some of the freshest I’ve had; I would recommend starting with some kind of sushi roll. The mains are very big portions and are accompanied by house flatbread. A good cocktail menu and hard-to-beat atmosphere being right on the beach.

Visited 2 times during my stay in Sayulita. This restaurant is ran like a well oiled machine, team mentality giving impeccable service!!!! Former server so I appreciate the joint effort to make sure all guests have a great experience. The food & drinks are delicious. The beachfront vibe is “chefs kiss!” Love the whole place. Owners definitely know what they are doing and it shows!! Thanks for a great experience! Staff is so warm and welcoming, saying, “Welcome back, great to see you.” Definitely an Excellent choice for a meal/drink if you’re in town!

Yelp
Holy smokes!! This place has the views, the drinks AND amazing food!! Wonderful flavor and service. Our group had the mussels, crab roll, burrata pizza, shrimp tacos, fish sandwich and the Stir fry!!! All were absolutely wonderful

Yelp
I recently went to Don Pedro's and while the location, view, and food were amazing, the experience was a bit disappointing. The view was stunning, and the food was top-notch -- everything we ordered was delicious. That said, I couldn't help but notice a weird difference in how we were treated compared to other diners. We were seated at a table one row back from the best ones, which were closer to the beach. Twice, I was offered tables in the back row. When I asked about the best tables, I was told they were "reserved." Later, I noticed that one of the tables I had inquired about earlier, was taken by a group of American tourists. Curious, I asked one of them how they got those prime spots, and they told me they didn't have a reservation. They had just walked up to the restaurant to order drinks and an appetizer. They left rather quickly. Meanwhile, we had a full meal with appetizers, entrees, drinks, and dessert. It made me wonder if it was because I don't look "American enough" or if it had something to do with me speaking Spanish fluently. I could've said something right then and there, but I decided to wait and see how things turned out, hoping maybe I had just misunderstood or made a wrong assumption. Unfortunately, it became pretty clear that the staff was giving more attention to the American customers than to others. Our waters were not refilled, we had to ask for straws and even had to ask them to remove some plates off the table when we were done eating. This really soured the experience for me. The food and view were great, but because of the uneven service, I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Came here in the morning for breakfast so nice to view to the beach good calm vibes and good home made breakfast. CAME BACK SAME DAY at night for my birthday on a Monday and the vibe was absolately amazing! They had a live band salsa music, drinks were delicious and believe me you I haven't lived your life until you dance to salsa music live on a bar with a beach view at night, nothing compares the fun and ambience of this spot. Definitely try it when you come here, staff made sure i had a blast for my birthday and everyone's so accommodating. top tier place in sayulita.

Phil N.

Yelp
Location Location Location This is a nice location with a good restaurant. It's on the beach and is probably the best mexi-fine dining spot on the beach. The food seems to focus on fresh fish, and italian specialties such as pizza ravioli etc. It was very good. Not overly memorable other than the view but very good. Service was the best i have seen here so far

Yelp
We actually visited Don Pedros on a couple of occasions. The first time was for drinks and a snack...didn't really want lunch but were a bit hungry after not having breakfast. Ended up with their Chicken Taquitos which were actually pretty darned spectacular. Problem was...we could never get our timing right to have them again. Seems it's not a "constant" on the menu. Couldn't get it right if it was JUST a lunch option, or was only available on certain days. Better work on my Spanish. But they were amazing. The second time we came for Salsa Night. I was bummed that on our last trip, our dates didn't align with Salsa night so I was super excited to make it. We ordered our drinks and waited for the "lessons" to begin. Well, they never really made any announcement...and certainly NOTHING in English. The lessons were really just "hey, here's a couple of steps, hope you can follow along" and the instructions were all in Spanish (which is funny since 90% of the folks there were gringos!), and after 10 minutes hubby gave up. I gave it another 40 minutes or so, and both the instructors tried to "dance with me" individually, but it's hard to understand what they are trying to tell you if you don't speak the language. After another 30 minutes of giving it a go, I sat down to a second drink.THEN the live music started and it was so loud that we had to leave and find dinner elsewhere. Irony of ironies...NOONE was dancing, including the folks who had the "lessons" earlier. I don't want to rate DP based on this "event" but since they advertise it so heavily I think constructive feedback is good. The other entertainment we had another night was outstanding so this was particularly disappointing. But, food is good, service is great, it's a little pricey compared to other places in Sayulita but it is worth the visit. Especially if they have the taquitos on the menu!

Juliann T.

Yelp
Great location! We came on a weekday night and It was empty and service was great. If you get the chance head to the upstairs for a great view. I got the steak, and tuna tostada. Both were also very good but how can you concentrate with this view! During the weekend It is packed so a weekday would be more low key.

Romina T.

Yelp
While shopping in Sayulita we stumbled on this cute restaurant right on the beach. We stopped and had some drinks before going to the beach. The mango margarita was delicious and also the Paloma. I also ordered a strawberry smoothie for my daughter and she loved it. Everyone was very friendly and nice. Definitely will come back for a meal.

Nick M.

Yelp
12/30/2024 - 4 of the 8 of us got food poisoning during dinner. We were not able to tell which exact item it was. But it hit half our group after we returned to the hotel after dinner

Toni D.

Yelp
The service is a little slow - we ordered the red snapper special and clams as an appetizer, after waiting quite a awhile we received our entrees but not the appetizers. The red snapper was amazing, it came with with rice, black beans and we added a side salad and there was a yummy teriyaki sauce that was a perfect balance with the snapper. We had a nice view of the ocean but it as by a really aggressive dog. Would recommend!

Yelp
The food is well diverse and elegantly presented . A very nice semi upscale restaurant located right on the Sayulita Southside Beach . Monday nights is La Fiesta w/ live salsa bands and salsa dance lessons if you want to learn how to do the salsa . The food is great always well prepared with a wide range of fresh ingredients. Has a huge nice and well stocked bar ... Can be a place for family w/ children and a place to go out on a date w/ your significant other . One of my favorite restaurants here in Sayulita-Nayarit, Mexico ... The atmosphere is an experience you want to see for yourself . Especially during sunset hours ... Love It

Diana B.

Yelp
Great spot on the beach for fun appetizer dinner. The food, ambiance and service was beyond excellent! My mango margarita was yummy and Reed like his Mezcal Margarita so much, he had more than one! We also had fresh and very delicious oysters from Baja California. I would love to try other things on their menu, as every thing that passed by our looked more than edible! Sitting on the beach is always entertaining with all the men and women walking by selling their wares. I often wonder how they can carry as much as they do, or push it along in the sand? It was busy, busy, busy, but the service was friendly, yet very professional! It's definitely on my "Loved It" list!

Devin M.

Yelp
Food: excellent and very flavorful. I had the seared tuna and loved every bite. My folks had the stir fry and it too was excellent. I stole quite a bit. Service: top notch. Very friendly. Ambiance: beach front views that are great.

Bonnie S.

Yelp
Prime location in Sayulita, gorgeous view and casual ambiance. I don't remember everything my family got here but I do remember all the food being inhaled and there were no leftovers. Lol. My husband and son both got the catch for the day, my son did not care for the sauce on the fish but he said the fish was very good and fresh. One of my daughter's got the chicken taquitos and finished every last bit. We also shared the scallop sushi, it had such good flavor and was so fresh. I will never forget the yummy shrimp tacos I got here, they were honestly the best I ever had. Generous amount of shrimp with perfectly crunchy batter, so much pop of flavor and lots of fresh veggies and tortilla. We also got some yummy margaritas as well. The service is friendly and fast. We were seated right away around 12:30 on a Wednesday. They have very clean bathrooms and lots of seating.

Mark H.

Yelp
Great place on the beach with service to the umbrella and chairs outside. Umbrellas and loungers on the beach can be rented out.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. It was not what I was expecting. Off the beach I was wanting more of authentic fresh seafood. I saw pizza and burgers on the menu. Best I could do when I sat down was the tuna and beer battered shrimp. The shrimp was good, if not that would of been a two stars. Expensive. You are paying for the view, not good quality food. I feel as if they don't even try.

Yelp
I spent several weeks in Sayulita, and enjoyed many meals at Don Pedro's. I've heard it said that perfection doesn't exist, but if this spot launched an argument, there is a strong likelihood they'd win. Unassuming, elegant (classy but not stuffy) is the most accurate description I can come up with - don't forget BEAUTIFUL! Nestled directly on the beach overlooking the quaint, neighboring Los Muertos neighborhood and peaceful Pacific Ocean, the Don Pedro's experience is unmatched. The drinks and cocktails are perfection, the wine selection is impressive, and the food is scrumptiously fresh and delicious. Try anything and you're sure to love it. Lobster or lobster ravioli, check. Steak, pizza, ginger chili Mahi Mahi, check, check, check! I rarely skipped a day throughout my entire visit, and I was NEVER disappointed. I'll be back very soon. Yelp
We came here for dinner our last night in town and it was absolutely perfection; everything was delicious, and service was attentive. They set up a table for us on the beach for 16 people, and we got to watch the sunset. They even had salsa lessons at 7:30 pm and a 7-piece salsa band at 8 pm! Don Pedro's has been voted "Best Restaurant" in Sayulita for 3 years running in the Voter's Choice Best of Sayulita awards. It also won the 2021 TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice Award. The menu isn't huge, but they have a little bit of everything - sushi, fresh fish, lobster, salads, appetizers, pasta and amazing wood-fired pizza. Reasonable prices for the quality. Everything we tasted was fantastic - the Thai coconut ceviche (wow), beet ravioli (amazing), jumbo shrimp, a whole fresh fish of the day - huachinango (local red snapper) and osso bucco. Add in some cadillac margaritas and tamarindo margaritas, and we were in heaven. Absolutely recommend. Gracias!

Sue G.

Yelp
Grilled tuna was fabulous! Will go back again. Hope for a difference waitress.....ours tonight was less than enjoyable!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Went for dinner, Maxwell was our server and view was phenomenal! Both salads were fresh and delicious! The lobster was huge, but a little overdone. Ordered the filet medium rare, it came out mooing, sent it back to get to the correct temperature, took a solid 10 minutes, but it was as if the steak was never on a grill. Sent it back again, came out, still way under. We didn't eat it. I don't recommend ordering steaks unless you like them mooing.

Ashlyn P.

Yelp
This place the the best -- We came here multiple times even just for take out on the way back to our hotel. I can't even count how many times we had their house pizza. So so good. Service was perfect every time, and everyone that works there is just so friendly! Definitely going to miss this place, wish we could stop by like 10 more times before we leave

Bella Vita B.

Yelp
Great food, recommend the lobster raviolis and the burrata salad as appetizer. Great view into ocean, we sat upstairs with the entire ocean view and breeze. Amazing

Adrianna S.

Yelp
This places feels safe and refreshing right now. Everyone wears masks and they do temperature checks on the way in. It is open air and if you sit "outside," tour feet are in the sand- ahhhhmazing. Great ocean view and people-watching. The food is also a great plus! We went twice as it really seemed the safest option in Sayulita during Covid. We ordered fish tacos, sushi, taquitos, and of course, cocktails. Everything was delicious. We wanted to try the ahi wontons but they never had ahi. Definitely try Don's. I hear they have dancing on Monday nights which we didn't get to try out. Next time for sure!

James N.

Yelp
Stunning view! I must say this was the best place to eat to watch the sunset, absolutely beautiful. Menu was small which makes it easier to choose from and the pasta was delicious. Overall great experience. Important Notes: They accept credit cards They have ATM's by the entrance to withdrawal pesos or US dollars.

Fran R.

Yelp
Incredible carne asada, fresh tortillas, guacamole and pico! Going back tomorrow! Thank you for welcoming our large family in you dining room looking over the ocean, enjoyed the nice breeze. Excellent!

Dave F.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this restaurant after hiking Monkey Mountain then driving to Sayulita. Walked around the small town and chose Don Pedro's for an early lunch. Huge drink menu but I had a taste for a Negra Modelo while my coworker had a Coke. For meals we ordered the fish sandwich which was grilled Mahi on homemade pita bread and the shrimp tacos. The Mahi was probably the best Mahi sandwich I have ever had - great wood grilled flavor with guacamole and a sauce which was mayo based with red and green peppers. The shrimp tacos, according to my coworker, were great and plentiful! The Mahi came with fries. The entire staff was friendly and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent place for lunch!

David R.

Yelp
Food was dry, expensive which one would expect and not a lot of Mexican dishes on the menu. Drinks are "meh." Won't return as there are many others great spots to dine in Sayulita.

Martha F.

Yelp
Great oceanfront location. We got there too late for breakfast so ended up only having margaritas and they were very tasty. Our waiter was attentive and provided excellent service even after we expressed that we would only be having a drink.

victoria p.

Yelp
My in-laws are visiting so we chose Don Pedro's as their first meal so we could be by the ocean and it did not disappoint. More on the fine-dining side of things than how we usually roll, but we had zero complaints about the meal or the staff and the location and views are lovely. Dining with 4 adults and a 5-year-old, all with different dietary restrictions, can often prove challenging but at Don Pedro's we found something for everyone. We tried the Thai ceviche, oysters, and the mussels to start. For mains, we had the Chile Relleno, Pescado del Dia, the Lamb Ossobuco, and the Jumbo Shrimp. Everything was delicious, even the vegetable sides were done to perfection. My only complaint were the cocktails felt a bit watery to me and lacking in flavor. We'll come back for a sundowner and probably be able to amend that and bump them up to 5 stars.

Klaudia A.

Yelp
Our first time in Sayulita. We heard about Don Pedro's from the friend and had to check out by myself! Food is so delicious! We had burrata salad which I'm obsessed with, mozzarella so sweet and subtle and this dressing, omg. We shared it with hubby. Then we had wood fire Mexican pizza with chorrizo and beans and we also ordered chicken taquitos. Drinks are bomb! Great service and amazing view. Prices are little bit high, to be prepared

Mikey W.

Yelp
This place is perfect to chill and watch the sunset while eating an awesome dinner. The spicy margaritas I had were stellar and they had a solid selection of mezcals to choose from. The food is more Italian than Mexican but is super tasty and everything we had was well executed. Tuna poke tostada, pizza, it was all just what we needed.

Kody S.

Yelp
You're paying for a beachfront meal. You're not paying for good food or a good drink. You're simply paying for a view. If you want to eat the same food you would eat outside of Mexico at a Mexican restaurant then this is your place. The only thing good here besides the view was the service. Our waiters were the best part about the meal.

Sue D.

Yelp
Nice upscale but casual dining, right on beach, under large tree or indoors. Food portions big and tasty. Drinks great. $$$.

Cindy L.

Yelp
Upon our arrival we were not treated with the best friendliness. We decided to Skip that part to get a table and went straight to the bar. The bartender was fun, drinks for really cold and all the appetizers that we ordered were good and tasty. Fuse we're good, could be very lightly at night but never made it back there in the . I WOULD go back evening.

Oscar C.

Yelp
Good food great vibe.. in point and the view was great can't wait to come back. Love you Puerto Vallarta

Gabrielle T.

Yelp
Excellent location, menu options (including a delicious pizza!), and drinks. Plenty of margarita flavors. I had the nocoise salad, which I was surprised to find on the menu. Also had the roasted artichoke. YUM!!

Frances O.

Yelp
We ate at Don Pedro's our first and last night in Sayulita and it was wonderful both times. The view is wonderful, especially if you can catch a sunset. The food is so tasty as are the drinks. Wonderful staff, very friendly and attentive. Definitely a highlight of the trip.

Terri F.

Yelp
My fresh fish of the day (mahi-mahi) was delicious. My daughter-in-law had the lobster raviolis which were also great. My son had the risotto which was just okay. The bread was served warm with a great herb olive oil mixture that was great. Fabulous view of the beach. Highly recommend!

Jake A.

Yelp
If you want ocen views and delicious cool refreshing drinks come here. The staff is covid friendly they do a temp check before entering and make sure that you use hand santizer as well. We got drinks here by ocean its beautiful, especially at sunset. I highly recommended if you need to relax and chill out.

L L.

Yelp
Well it was a ways to go for pizza and strawberry margarita's but worth it. Arturo brought us from Nuevo and was a true beauty for an entertaining taxi ride and taking us to this beautiful location for cold drinks and a great lunch. House special Pizza had the right amount of everything (I loved the basil) and the strawberry margaritas were mucho bueno! Thanks for the foodie tip Arturo!!

Nicole R.

Yelp
We spent 5 days in Sayulita and kept coming back to this place time and again. You can't beat the location, it's centrally located near everything in town and has a great beachfront view! The restaurant is big with plenty of space for large groups, so when everyone else in town is sitting on top of each other in tiny restaurants, we enjoyed stretching out at their very spacious dining table. We had the guacamole, carne asada and grilled mahi mahi on one visit and the chicken taquitos, burrata salad and shrimp and bacon pizza on another. Everything was delicious and the service fast and very accommodating. We also sat at the bar for margaritas and enjoyed the cocktails as well as conversation with the very hospitable bartender Rogelio. So after you've walked around town and are ready to get away from the hustle and bustle, I highly recommend stopping at Don Pedro's!

Farrah A.

Yelp
Don Pedro's makes a solid margarita - and strong. It's one of the more popular restaurants along the beach because of it's prime location. So it stays busy and is well know. People, like myself, that like to find hidden gems may try to avoid this place, but do stop in at least for a margarita. You can take a short break from the sun, take advantage of their clean restrooms, snack on chips and ceviche and enjoy the beachfront view. Sunsets are great!

Kasey H.

Yelp
This place was recommended by my taxi driver (who turned out to be a scammer, as was this restaurant). The food was meh but the view was great. I would recommend getting some drinks and apps here but maybe taking your dinner else where.

Tiffani S.

Yelp
You wouldn't know Don Pedro's was right on the beach unless I read someone's blog about the best restaurants in Sayulita. So glad we found it. Food was really good, they had quick service and the views weren't bad! We went on a Monday night and there was a live band as well. Definitely will be back.

Molly S.

Yelp
A little more upscale and pricy than your typical Mexican restaurant but the meal and drinks I had were very good. They have a free salsa lesson Mondays at 7:30 followed my live bands and salsa dancing. Lots f good salseras and salseras dancing until 11:30

Steven R.

Yelp
A not so hidden gem on the beach. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and positive. My red snapper was delicious and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The service was prompt without the feeling that they wanted you to leave. A great place for a leisurely lunch. My wife loved the House Special pizza, a taste of home.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is incredible. The food and hospitality is just as impressive .we will be back!!

Corrie P.

Yelp
food was pretty good. a little spendy. they do have an atm inside that is supposed to be safe to use.

Sirama B.

Yelp
I came here twice. I tried to like this place but the manager was a little crass for my taste. They also have a strange seating arrangement. Their cocktails were just ok for the price and the awkward seating. The bar faces away from the ocean so at sunset you have to miss it unless you're having dinner or sitting at a Club table. Overhyped. Get a beach towel and a bottle of tequila and go sit on the beach. Much nicer and less stuffy. Probably tastes better too.

Kelli D.

Yelp
Food so bad could not eat it Canned octopus Salty stir fry And the worst carne I have ever had
