Possibly one of the most chaotic DonQs due to the location and omnipresent abundance of tourists. Shopping at DonQ can be a sensory overload in it's own right, so try to come during off hours for a more comfortable shopping experience. This is when the location shines the most. The store is huge, multi-tiered and filled with a wide range of goods from souvenirs to practical items such as toiletries. I appreciate the staff taking care of this location, it must be challenging!

If late-stage capitalism built a theme park, it would look like this. Don Quijote Akihabara is eight floors of chaos engineered for dopamine hits: a shrine to consumer excess where anime merch, whiskey, and Doraemon socks coexist in perfect, fluorescent harmony. I came for “a quick look” and left an hour later with socks, a T-shirt, and the lingering suspicion I’d been hypnotized by the store jingle. Every aisle feels like an algorithm in physical form: crowded, confusing, and somehow irresistible. Need toothpaste? Sure, but you’ll pass 40 feet of cosplay accessories first. It’s not shopping...it’s an obstacle course designed by a marketing major on Red Bull. The staff run the place like air traffic controllers, calmly guiding hundreds of overstimulated tourists through retail pandemonium. Prices are fair, tax-free options are smooth, and the sheer density of stuff makes IKEA look minimalist. Would I go back? Hell yes. It’s absurd, brilliant, and uniquely Japanese...a fever dream where commerce becomes entertainment. Travel Tip: Visit late at night when the crowds thin out and the neon feels almost romantic; if your idea of romance involves Doraemon socks and mild sensory overload.

This location is great for anime fans! Thete is even a cute Maide Cafe! Easy to find while walking. Floors 6 and 7 are not part of the main store, so if you want to visit make sure you go before you start shopping. If you want to do tax free its only on the 4th floor!!

🇬🇧 A must-go destination for visitors with a lot of popular brands in this country. You can buy all good things with relatively cheap prices. A minor problem is that English communication there is hard for foreigners.

Google
Great shop for gifts, open 24/7. Offers tax-free

Google
It’s huge! And the prices are not ridiculous! Lack of English signage out front but if you find your way inside there are floors and floors of stuff for everyone and everything. Floor four has tax free registers if you spend 5500 yen or more and you need to show ur passport. Follow the floor signs to the cash registers.

The many floors of everything and the 24hrs opening time brings enough excitement in this place. Not a very visible entrance but eventually you will feel where the narrow stairs leading to the first floor. We visited this place twice past midnight regardless of our tiring feet. The competitive prices of your “must buy” and surprise buys are crazy in a perspective of a tourist. It can get really crowded regardless of the time and counter queue is long. Its not a comfortable walk between aisles as it is cramped with displays. But you are there for the affordable shopping so u cant have it all ☺️

Google
DON DON DON DONKI! This store has a huge selection of goods, branded merchandise, clothing, food, alcohol, drinks, suitcases, cooking supplies, anything you could need that's affordable. It is a bit crowded and the space is a bit tight. Its tax free if you spend over 5,500 yen!

Yelp
They pretty much had everything I was looking for in terms of souvenirs. It was a bit overwhelming traversing the multiple floors and aisles (in a good way). Not sure how the prices really compare to all the other shops around the area but if you're looking for an easy one stop shop, this is a good place to start.

Yelp
Let's be real: Don Quijote + Akihabara... It can ONLY be perfection! Multiple stories of items you didn't know you wanted but now you know you absolutely NEED! Don't forget to go to the tax section for some deals and explore all stories from candies to shirts to toys!

Yelp
I came here at night around 10pm, there were multiple floors and you use escalators to get to each floor. There's a map and it labels each floor of what products they have. We went to check out each floor and bought some sunscreen spray, sunscreen lotion, toothbrushes and snacks. Each floor is PACKED with stuff and there's so much to look at!! I can't read Japanese so I tried the google translator and it kind of helped. You can find so many things there like cosmetics, food/snacks, costumes, shampoo, hair gel, medicine, toys, kitchen stuff etc... Thats why I've heard people call this place the Walmart of Japan! I really like this store but definitely takes time to look at everything! There are signs that tell you which is the cashier floors are located and there's also different line cashier for tax free.

Yelp
Great place to buy souvenirs. There's several floors and gets a little busy but totally worth a visit.

Yelp
Man, Dollar Tree and discounts stores in the U.S. have got NOTHING on Don Quijote. If you've ever passed this weird penguin next to a gigantic store around different prefectures in Japan, you better backtrack and go in because you'll never get an experience like this any where else in the world. Every Don Quijote in Japan (there are A BUNCH OF THEM) is filled with floors and floors of cheap electronics, household supplies, clothes, food, and more! My girlfriend and I went into the one in Akihabara more just to walk around and explore, but we found ourselves going back again and again to different branches just to buy cheap stuff. Whether you're looking for rare Japanese snacks you'll have to import in the states for $$, or if you're looking for slippers, cheap electronics, or 18+ toys (yea I'm looking at you!), Don Quijote will have them for a very low cost. They even have tax-free discounts if you show your passports. Don't worry, they won't remember if you buy that sex toy. My favorite purchase from Don Quijote had to be the chocolate. They have like 10 different types of Kit-Kat Bars. Usually in America, we can only find the matcha ones. Here in Japan, you have strawberry-flavored ones and even sake-flavored ones! Don Quijote was definitely one of the most memorable parts of Japan. When you're in this beautiful country, you gotta shop and this is one of the best places to do so! I give the one in Akihabara an "Omg, I'd travel 2 hours for this" rating. Shop well and prosper,

Yelp
I am still not sure why this one-stop-shop is called Don Quijote with the mascot of blue penguins until now, but Don Quijote or Donki - for short - is a chain of shops where you could find pretty much everything you ever wish for at any time of the day, even at 2am. This shop in particular opens from 10am to 5am and there are multiple storeys in where you could get anything from Sake-flavoured KitKat chocolate, to expensive wristwatch, or even bicycle if you feel like wanting to buy them all at the same place and perhaps grab some condoms on the side. I always execute my last day shopping here, buying bulk to bring home as gifts for people. T shirt? Tacky Japanese souvenirs? Hello Kitty chopsticks? Maid (fetish) outfit or just matcha Oreo? You can find it here, and I mean it in every word I said. Service is probably nonexistent in Japanese terms and you could hardly find people you could ask if you need information, but so far I have no problems in figuring things out although they are mostly in Japanese. Bring your passport as well, you could do your tax-free shopping here. The counter is on the Donki's highest floor, next to the maid cafe.

Yelp
This store is everything but normal. Want all the weird and funky stuff out there? Then you must come here. This store is unique in that it has costumes, and all the weird stuff you normally would not find at most stores. You can buy all kinds of snacks, booze, and food stuff here as a lot of tourists do but other people come here because of the merchandise sold here. If you don't believe me, just look at the pictures people post about Don Quijote. If you go to the top floor, it's a gaming floor. Be careful up there though as you cannot take pictures, as I was told that I had to put my camera away. It's kinda cool up there as they have all kinds of games to play. The rest of this place is shopping, and lots of it. They have everything from normal clothes to adult novelty items. Regardless of what you are here for, they have something for everyone. Good place to go if you are trying to purchase gifts for people. Come here on a full stomach, as it takes some time to go through all the floors. Not a good place to go when you are hungry. If you have your passport, make sure to bring it as you can avoid the 8% sales tax on purchased goods. A copy of your passport wont do as I found out the hard way. That's like many stores in Japan. This is a great place to visit while in Akihabara. It's actually a must visit store if you have never been.

Yelp
Once we filled out bellies with takoyakis, my siblings and I headed over to Don Quijote Akihabara. This place is HUGE. With tons of stories, this building is filled with clothes, stationary, skincare products, and more. Like LOFT in Shibuya, you can probably purchase all of your souvenirs here. They do take credit card, so shop to your heart's desires! I know I did! ;)

Yelp
Of course, a Don Quijote. Had to poke around in here some. So if you're looking for an all in one party, snack, booze, hobby, make up, everyday items??? naughty items?? sort of place then look no further than a Don Quijote. Several floors of random, strange, and stranger, then pretty good. They also are open pretty late in case you need a late night fixin'. This one definitely seemed to have the flavor of the area it's in for sure. Great place to get some quick souvenirs too. We definitely loaded up on a variety of Chu-Hi and squid snacks. Make sure to bring the passport for the perks and the wallet!

Yelp
You definitely need to check out at least one Don Quijote while in Japan, and the Akihabara one was the best that we experienced (but also most crowded). In addition to all the candy, souvenirs, household items and other oddities, this location has the "cosplay castle" for all your costume needs! It's noisy, busy but super fun! A real taste of all the wackiness that Japan has to offer.

Yelp
I found it hard not to spend a great deal of time and money here! Cool socks, stickers, different flavor Kit Kats, all sorts of matcha candies, souvenirs and so much more! You can get in a long line to purchase your items duty free or you can purchase them with no wait at a non-duty free counter! The store ends somewhere after the 5th floor and you cannot enter that floor with your un- purchased goods lol! I found out the hard way lol! The sales floor is a little bigger than in Shinjuku and it's a little less cramped here it seems. Most important is that this place does have lots of good stuff! You can also use their escalators or elevators. What can I do without here? Too bad it was Halloween. A whole sales floor at least was dedicated to Halloween. What makes Don Quijote stand out? The sheer amount of cool stuff! Five stars! This place is really, really ridiculously good!

Yelp
Bring your credit card and get all your shopping done here. This store is HUGE (so many floors), and it has everything. Literally everything - from housewares and clothes to stationary to kids toys and sex toys. After a week of shopping in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, I wish I had just bought everything here because this place has everything at the lowest prices. And if you can't find it here, well there are tons of other touristy stores everywhere in Akihabara. Tourist Notes: Accepts credit cards, Easy to find with Google Maps, There are other Don Quijote stores throughout Japan but this one is the best!

Yelp
Very fun small shopping mall to browse. The @home maid cafe is on the 5th floor so we browsed the bottom 4 floors while waiting for the cafe to open at 11:30am. There's an arcade on the ground floor, a pharmacy and costume shop on the higher levels. I am in love with the rose-scented hand lotion and soy chapstick that I bought here. I wish I stocked up on them! The pharmacy also sold small items, like keychains, that would make great souvenirs.

Yelp
How can you not give this place 5 stars?! Have you seen weird things from Japan? - In most cases, it probably came from a Don Quijote! While yes, it may be a discount store, but it is THE place to get snacks, souvenirs, weird toys, costumes, makeup, sex toys, and other random things. Each Don Quijote can offer different things. This one for example, has two floors that pay homage to AKB48 - a pop band that got started over there. Go. Check out each floor. You're welcome:D Japanese Tip: A lot of the Japanese department stores will off a 5% discount for tourists with their passports. Don Quijote is one of them!

Yelp
Love this store! Wish we can have one of these stores in at our city! Every time when I come to Japan, i come her for my snacks, make up products, and other items that I would not be able to purchase in the states. Bring your passport, you can get tax free!

Yelp
THE GREATEST STORE IN JAPAN!!! This place is open very late and has literally EVERYTHING!! Snacks, souvenirs, sex shop, pillows, workout equipment, bicycles, clothes, liquor.... literally everything. It is several floors of AMAZING!! In one place i bought some hello kitty slippers, an umbrella, squid jerky, a bottle of whiskey, socks, a pikachu hat, some headphones, makeup, a tshirt, and some noodles to cook at home. If you are in Tokyo check out this or any Don Quijote in Tokyo. You can spend hours just browsing through the goodies this store has to offer. Do yourself a favor and go!!!
