Don Tabaré steak House

A bit quiet when we arrived - we had a really friendly waiter and the food was okay - confused when it all had horse on the menu but then realised that horse was a delicacy in Sicily

This is a gorgeous and very strange place, initially we didn't know whether it was a gallery, a shop or a bar - it turns out it's a mixture of all three and you can also eat there. It manages to be elegant and relaxed, chic and child friendly, sophisticated and affordable all at the same time. Inside there is a little playground for kids and they also have the best crayons and colouring books. The wine was perfect and we also had a selection of arancini, which were just heavenly. Finally, the staff was wonderful: welcoming, friendly, helpful, lovely.

Wow. Out of all the restaurants in Scicli I’ve been to, this one is by far the nicest and has the best food. The atmosphere and food quality is unmatched. Look Definitely come here, you won’t regret it!

Excellent experience, amazing food and specialties of Sicily and the province of Ragusa. A must for the refined traveller in search of the non plus ultra.

Abbiamo cenato in questa steak house nel centro della meravigliosa Scicli e siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi. Abbiamo preso tutti piatti a base di carne di cavallo ed era tutto buonissimo. Assolutamente consigliato il tagliere di carne e frittura. Personale gentile e disponibile. Peccato solo per l'attesa un po' lunga nonostante fosse un giorno di settimana.

Abbiamo trascorso una piacevolissima serata nella meravigliosa Scicli, comodamente seduti al Don Tabare un locale interessante con una storia altrettanto interessante. In principio una chiesa, poi garage fino a laboratorio di pasticceria e oggi una fantastica "steak house" catanese. Si catanese, l'impronta dei gestori di questa realtà è marcata e non solo per la cadenza linguistica ma anche per l'accoglienza tipica catanese e anche per i prezzi, allineati con quelli catanesi, qualità ad un prezzo corretto. Sfortunatamente in zona ragusana i prezzi sono diventati molto alti e invece loro hanno mantenuto un giusto prezzo avendo una qualità incredibile. I ragazzi che si occupano di accogliere i clienti sono gentili ed educati e i gestori alla mano e disponibili. Bravi ragazzi continuate così.

La location è bella, peccato per il servizio e per i piatti, si avverte la stanchezza del personale.. una lentezza eccessiva, sia in cucina che in sala. Tavoli che nessuno ripuliva, e piatti che uscivano uno per volta dalla cucina .. cose ordinate che non arrivavano .. insomma c’è da lavorare per migliorare.. i prezzi sono bassi ma alla fine per niente di speciale .. pasta troppo cotta, polpetta che non stava insieme l’impasto, bruschette così sottili che la composta sopra ha squagliato il pane e quindi non potevi manco prenderli con le mani!!! salvo solo la parmigiana, era ottima!
