Dongara Hotel Motel

Ordered a surf and turf, rare, came out well done, ate a couple of prawns before hand, returned it came out with no sea food on it and was blue. Lamb madras was crap also, heading downhill the pub.... And im not the one to ever leave a reveiw.

The best thing about this pub was the smiling staff. We came for dinner and sat in the large outside area with our two dogs. It is inviting with trees, umbrellas and lights, and other guests all had a good vibe. The menu includes a lot of Asian dishes. We had the chicken and cashew stir fry with oyster sauce, which was well constructed and suitable for children, veggies were not crunchy. The Lamb Madras curry was nice, the lamb was tender, the sauce tasted a bit commercial. Enormous serves, not too salty, we left very satisfied.

Went to have dinner here after a long drive with two small kids (5 &2)We had left their shoes behind in our accommodation and when we went to sit down inside we were rudely told by a staff member that we could not dine as our kids didn’t have shoes as it was part of their ‘safety’ policy! We went to sit outside and bluntly told we could not even sit outside without shoes! It was not just the ridiculous policy, as a pair of thongs which we were both wearing would have been no more safe or offered protection than bare feet, but the manner in which we were spoken to! Your staff need an education on how to communicate with your perspective patrons. Unbelievably rude!

Room were clean , and tidy . I ate at the restaurant and was super happy . Staff was friendly and price was very acceptable. Went for the steak and chips ! Was a really good steak . I would really recommend this place .

Called in for a meal. Quite nice food, mostly same menu as a year ago. Beer was cold. Nice atmosphere

Dongara Hotel Motel provided us with amazing hospitality, friendly service, great coffes and superb breakfast to our order. All staff we encountered made us feel welcome and did a terrific job making our stay enjoyable. A big THANK YOU from us both.

When I read the word "Motel", I wasn't expecting too much from my stay, a comfortable place to sleep, the basics. But perhaps the word "Hotel" should have stood out to me more. The shower was amazing, which took me by surprise. The shower head is a waterfall style, and the pressure was impeccable, I could have stayed in that shower for hours. The bed was big and comfortable, and I slept so well. I wish I hadn't needed to get up so early the next morning to set off on my journey. Otherwise, I may have stayed in bed til check out! Breakfast was my other pleasant surprise. A great selection to choose from, good value, and such pretty presentation. I really enjoyed my Smashed Avo with poached eggs - runny - to perfection. I chose this place due to its late check-in time, one of the only ones I could find as late as 10pm to check-in. I was going to be even later, I called to explain, and they offered a solution that allowed me to get my key after office hours and get into my room. They also have a key box to return your key if you leave before office hours. Good location, easy to find, plenty of parking too.

The food here is PHENOMENAL!! Been here 3x and haven't been disappointed once - it is consistently delicious! Plus the portion is massive. I should disclose that I've only eaten here for dinner - have yet to try their breakfast menu but I'm sure it's amazing as well You can't go wrong ordering from their daily specials - imo, I think it's slightly cheaper than their fixed menu. Considering how busy they are, they're quite efficient at turning out hot, beautifully plated dishes All of my co-workers recommend this place and I know people that would drive 1.5-2hr return just to eat here. That's saying something

Stayed here on a weekend for one night, rooms are tidy but not very roomy, small double bed, I enjoyed the stay with a short walk to the shops and the hotels bars, dining and bottle shop. The meals were good but on the high end price wise, cheapest on the specials board was $25.

We enjoyed two nights here breaking up a long road trip. The motel is like a time warp to the 1960s but very well kept and clean. The mattresses and pillows were nice and surprisingly comfortable. Quiet surrounds and safe. The restaurant is great. It is very popular. The serves are very large and probably enough for two people. Recommend the ribs and the chicken parmis although everything looked delicious. The food is actually much better than your average country pub. Not cheap but good.
