Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond

It's a huge complex but sadly I was able to see just 1/4 of it. My group of girls had dressed up in Hanboks and we visited this palace for photography. It was a lovely place to unwind but only if you have time in your hand.

A great place to visit at night. Ticket price isn’t expensive. There are lots of great angle for photos but can be crowded during certain season period of time. Lake was slight frost during -5 temperature this the reflection isn’t the best.

Recommend visiting at night as the palace and trees around the pond are lit up. Also it’s worth walking around the pond so that you get to see the palace from different angles.

Visited here in the afternoon and not so much to see, water features and buildings look like a bit abandoned. Maybe the place will look better in the evening after the lights are on.

This is a tranquil garden with a pond and pavilions as centrepiece. It's worth checking out by circling the pond and view the extensive landscaping works. The pavilions and walking trails are illuminated after sunset.

We came during the autumn, the colors were truly magnificent! I recommend you come during your stay in Gyeongju

With the pond, the bridge, the royal tombs and the unesco world heritage sites to explore, give yourself an entire day for the area. The pond is beautifully serene, the entrance fee is laughably cheap and you can meet a squirrel or two under the mogwa trees nearby. Absolutely worth the visit.

Huge palace ground with scenic lake & garden… recommend to visit during evening to catch the sunset & night lighting views of palace.. Fun fact: you will see this palace in samsung TV wallpaper collection We took guided tour which included this palace as well.. if you planning own trip better to check for opening/ closing timings
