I wished I lived in LA because I would be visiting this shop a few times a year. There were quite a few options of vegan donuts though I found them to be too sweet. They were also quite expensive though exquisite. I found the glazed donut holes to be both tasty and affordable. I will have to be satisfied with going to Donut Friend on my annual visit to Los Angeles.

Google
Fantastic donuts and a huge variety! We don't like overly sweet desserts so we stayed away from donuts with a thick colorful glaze and toppings (although they looked fabulous!) but the traditional one with a jelly inside and the light glaze one were just perfection. And did I mention, all vegan? You wouldn't believe it!

Google
My wife and I first visited this location seven years ago, and we absolutely fell in love with it. Returning now after all these years, we’re thrilled to say the donuts are just as amazing as we remembered! This place never disappoints, offering a wide variety of options, each one bursting with incredible flavor. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious treat!

Google
An unique take on doughnuts that will leave you feeling good about eating a doughnut. These are vegan based doughnuts. I guess they maybe a bit healthier than regular doughnuts. The presentation of the doughnuts made the selection of doughnuts difficult because they looked so good. The doughnut taste was good and yummy. There is a something a bit different in the taste that I can't quite differentiate from the traditional doughnut. They also offer ice cream. On my visit they did not have coffee for sale. Service was ok. Our visit was a bit late night on a Saturday and we may have been the last customers. There is some space to sit and enjoy the doughnut. Prices, a bit high, are what you expect in downtown especially for a unique twist on the doughnut. Yet these place seems like the only spot in the area to pick up a late night dessert.

Google
The selection is incredible. It wasn't as sweet as I hoped. Not bad at all and I will try additional flavors.

Google
Yum! Yum! Yum! I could eat here everyday. Wait, don't tell me they're plant-based!?! These tasty, melt-in-your-mouth delights are the best donuts I have ever had. They rival my favorite donut shop back home, but being healthier kinda wins my vote for being the best. The gals working today in the shop were just the nicest folks we met out here in LA. Recommend taking a box of these decadent treats home for later!

Google
First time here passed it many times. Finally stopped and well worth it! Parking isn’t great, and the area outside is dirty and full of homeless. Once inside very clean, and set up beautifully. Lots of fun options it was hard to choose. Delicious fresh donuts! Highly recommend and will definitely return. Friendly helpful staff.

Google
wonderful, FULLY VEGAN and delicious donuts and sweet treats! The staff was lovely too ❤️❤️❤️

Yelp
This place? This legendary, fully vegan sugar sanctuary? Yeah. It didn't just slap, it spiritually backhanded me into a higher dimension. I took one bite and was SPEECHLESS! Every donut is drama. The good kind! Tea worthy!! You won't find any "for a vegan donut, it's okay" nonsense here. These are full-flavor, high-gloss, emotionally dangerous pastries. You'll get addicted. You'll spiral upward. You'll consider taking out a loan to fund your donut habit and honestly? Worth it!!! Final thoughts: If you've ever wanted to be in a cute spot, with INCREDIBLE desserts, go to Donut Friend. These donuts will make you feel everything's fine in the world. And for 10 minutes or so? It will be!! Thank you Tracy and the incredible cashier in the Pierce The Veil sweater 7/3/25. We WILL be back!!

Yelp
After dinner treat. Cream puff was just too much Chocolates* were good *boston cream has a nice custard and classic chocolate covered donut was still fresh the next day.

Yelp
Great place! They have a ... wait for it... donut ice cream sandwich! It's insane!! Staff was beyond friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
The donut shop smells so good inside but the donuts taste so so. It's not the worst or the best. Kinda on the expensive side compared to other places. Price range $3-5 for one donut. I'm also not a fan of the box. It's black and you can see finger prints and oil marks. I didn't care for the service either. The lady behind the counter was making smart remarks. Not the service you want to receive first thing in the morning.
google avatar

Aleece T.

Yelp
Large and clean space, friendly staff, incredible donuts, okay coffee! No places to sit inside really. Seems more like a grab and go kind of space. They have ice cream and milkshakes for summertime which I'd gladly try. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
In the middle of the grungy DTLA there lies a beautiful vegan donut shop. Mycah was really friendly and helpful. The donuts were delicious. The coffee could use some improvement but given how tasty was the donut I drank it with, it didn't matter.

Yelp
Just a block or so away from Pershing Square, this Donut Friend location serves up sugary goodness to Al who are downtown. It's bright and clean inside, unlike the surrounding streets outside. There are some benches for people to sit, but they're not very comfortable. Donuts are on display behind glass towards the back. They seem to have ample supply even though it's near their closing time, so the display area looks nice and full. We tried the X-ray Speculoos and Give Up the Toast. Weird names but the donuts were pretty good. Not near the best we've ever had but good. The young lady that helped us was very nice, so thumbs up for staff friendliness. We came her at night, when all neighbor businesses were closed, and that makes the street look sketchy. But I bet in the daytime, it's a completely different vibe. I've been to their first location in Highland Park, so it was a nice surprise to find another location near Pershing Square.

Yelp
I've been uptown, I've been downtown, and this place is pretty cool. Donut friend has vegan donuts of all kinds--big ones, small ones, cake, yeast, toppings, fillings, simple, and artistic. All the donuts have creative names and I may have tried almost all the donuts. I love the elusive raised donuts and they are still what I fancy; however, I have tried a few of the cake ones as well. They now serve ice cream and shakes. I enjoy getting dessert here when I can. After all this time, still after every bite everything connects: life, love, and happiness. Don't take my word for it--donut lovers also love this joint--you should give it a try. This location is clean inside and benches in the center of the establishment for customers to utilize; service is always wonderful. There are no restrooms. "Real peace is always unshakable"

Yelp
This is located almost on the corner of Broadway/6th so not the best area. The restaurant itself is generally clean but there was a fly or two on the donuts in the showcase. The employees are super kind. I got the cinnamon roll and the glazed donut. I wish there was more glaze on each but they're both pretty good. It is a bit pricey as both came to $10. They have a lot of specialty items as well.

Yelp
Was in the area visiting the Last Bookstore, and decided to go try out Donut Friend after as it was basically around the corner It was empty when we went in, as Broadway was blocked off as they were seeing you the street for an event the next day, so no wait for the donuts. We tried a few: the chocolate donut with Bavarian cream, the matcha donut, a Nutella stuffed donut, a donut with a whip cream and strawberry mixture in the middle, and a passion fruit donut Out of the five donuts, I would say the passion fruit was the best. The passion fruit glaze on top didn't necessarily use real passion fruit, but the passion fruit flavoring want bad. The chocolate with creme really didn't stand out from any other similar donut. The whip cream and strawberry stuffed donut, the outside felt rather dry, not sure how long it has been sitting out. The inside had too much whip cream so it really felt you were just getting mouthfuls of whip cream. The matcha donut actually was decent with the matcha coming through. As for the Nutella donut, it, too, felt dry and it didn't have enough Nutella to really hit the Nutella crave one might have Overall, with so many donut places, and considering these donut were $5-6 each, I would say go try something else, unless you're looking for a passion fruit, or matcha, donut, then go stop by

Yelp
Best doughnuts period. Regular doughnuts don't even compare. For healthier option that doesn't lack in the taste department, doesn't want to give you diabetes, or anything else unhealthy, choose Donut friend.

Yelp
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The donuts? Wow! Crazy delicious and interesting options. I greatly enjoyed myself cannoli-inspired donut and my hubby devoured the donut ice cream sandwich.

Yelp
Finnna bust a Dough NUT Nah that's pretty wild! But look I come here for one donut and ONE DONUT ONLY! That Angry Samoan be having me happy dennnna mtf! May God bless whoever's genius mind decided to craft such a concoction I'll never not get it when I'm here! The service is immaculate as always the employees are always kind and efficient. The ambiance is like if an Apple Store and a donut shop have birth, it's elegant, chic and minimal! YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE A FRIEND IN ME!

Jamie S.

Yelp
It was all tasted SO good! The lady working was super nice and chatted with us. The names were great and the mural was super cute!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is really great and tastes yummy! You can't even tell it's vegan. Yellow carrot cake donut and the strawberry lab with chocolate was good. The service was great the second time we visited, Tracy, I believe is a blast! It's casual, place an order then head out. Not really for sitting and eating. Would I go back, yes.
google avatar

Doreen M.

Yelp
All of their donuts are vegan & are named after songs/bands. I don't think they advertise they are a vegan place; you also wouldn't be able to tell. My partner treated me to a strawberry & whip cream glazed donut sandwich looking one I chose; basically a donut sliced in half filled with the aforementioned items. They also sell ice cream & shakes, which I am GUESSING are also vegan.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Although the donuts are pricey, it's downtown and some of the them are huge. I don't typically go in for fancy donuts, and am glad they have a GREAT old fashioned here in glazed, maple and chocolate. The blueberry might be the best I've had. Bonus points for being so clean inside AND for all the emo/punk references on the donuts!! I've been probably five times, and always friendly folks.
google avatar

Andy T.

Yelp
If you're looking for a post dinner dessert, Donut Friend is a good option if you're in the area. I went with a group of co-workers and some of them got donuts. However, I opted for ice cream instead. The staff allowed for samples. After trying a few flavors, I decided to get the mint town. It was a solid mint ice cream with chocolate chips!
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
OMG. Why haven't I been here before!!!!! The donuts here feed the eyes AND belly! Great, friendly establishment! We had so many questions and they answered every single one. It's a place to grab and go but there are benches available to enjoy the donuts. Let me tell you, I'm not a fan of donuts but Friend definitely changed my mind. So flavorful and not very dense. I don't think i can eat another donut at any other place but here. I definitely need to go back. FYI, good luck with finding parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Donut Friend DTLA is all vegan. The shop is bright and clean. The flavors plenty. They have ice creams. They open early and closes late enough. What's not to like? Since going vegan, I rarely get to enjoy donuts. Regular dough donuts... not the cake kind like Side Cart donuts (yuck) and Donut Friend really delivers. I cant even tell I'm eating vegan donuts. They also have Mochi style donuts which I've been wanting to try but cant find a vegan version of, anywhere else. Thank you Donut Friend for having this option, you're really covering all your basis with the options. I'm a fan!
google avatar

Yelp
Holey shit you can get vegans donuts, and ice cream! If looking for either of these, or both, you can get each here. Donut Friend has a few locations, including this one in DTLA in the Jewelry District. Lots of desserts to choose from. The whole thing is plant based, so there's no need to ask about ingredients like eggs and that kind of stuff. Came a few times recently in the morning and later in the afternoon. It's always full of donuts to choose from. These are kind of expensive, but these aren't ordinary ones though. It's about $4 each. Lots of cool and interesting flavors. Best looking one last time was the Paramoreo Donut. This had a blue icing and Oreo crumbles on top. As for the ice cream, these are also plant based. It's about $5 a scoop, so not cheap. Had only a couple to choose from, and we got the Corn Against. This had a pretty corny flavor of course, while it wasn't crazy sweet. Just not much of it in a cup. The only bad thing is the high price. Great place to get sweets that are plant based. It's open in the mornings and into the evenings. The stuff is all good for vegans and vegetarians.

Yelp
Best vegan Donuts ! You couldn't even tell they were Vegan at first and the taste was amazing !!! they were soft and tasty ! I also indulge in the banana ice cream and it was delicious!

Yelp
LOVE me some Donut Friend! Though it is a bit of splurge, I have never regretted dipping in to grab a donut (or three). They are vegan, but as a butter connoisseur: nothing at all is lacking; the texture, flavor, quality, and variety of everything in the shop is world-class. I came in to grab a "Limp Twist" but got sidetracked by the Cannoli-inspired donut, and literally cannot lose. The ambiance is a nice break from the high energy of downtown, and the folks who work here give A++ service, which makes everything even more worth it. Shout out to whoever leads training and management. Thanks for being on Broadway! Can't wait to celebrate your birthday again this year :)

Yelp
Located in downtown LA this vegan friendly donut and ice cream shop is a must stop. It's delicious. Even if you aren't vegan, you will still love it. It tastes just like a regular donuts. And the creative combinations make this donut shop stand out from the rest. My faves: apple fritter and carrot cake. My cousin says the crème brûlée is also a must try - but you gotta get there early because this flavor sells out fast. It's a little spendy but worth the splurge. It's also open later than most donut shops - but you don't want to be in downtown LA after dark. Tourist or local. Wish they'd open more of these in other cities. Sooo good. Tip: no public bathrooms and not really a dine in option. A few benches to sit but not really linger.

Yelp
The donuts are amazing! The smell right when you walk in is out of this world!! Leo was a great help the toast one was the best

Yelp
My absolute Favorite donut & ice cream spot in LA!! Glad to see they have a new location downtown LA. I'm from New York and it seems like nothing goes on downtown, but Donut Friend!! They have the absolute best vegan ice cream around. So many delicious flavors some with nuts and some without. My son has a nut allergy, so always very aware. Can't say enough about the donut selection. Always something interesting to try. The donuts are humongous so we always share. This location was clean, new, and not too busy. There is a bathroom across the street. I highly recommend the donut friend. I can't wait to return to LA to go again. My LA go to for ice cream and donuts. Even if you are not vegan, you're going to love this place !!

Yelp

Yelp
This little shop is a donut haven! The display is mouthwatering with the variety they have, from regular glazed to filled donuts of all kinds. I ordered the Mint Town and got two mini glazed donuts. The glazed were very light and fluffy! The mint had an oreo crust, chocolate donut base and mint filling. It was so rich and delicious! It wasn't super dense and fell apart halfway. I couldn't tell if the low benches in the middle of the store were for seating, but I took my donut to go and ate in the Broadway Arcade building across the street. The cashier was super sweet and helpful!

Yelp
I patroned one morning and I loved this exceptional donut shop, I was so impressed with this donut shop I posted all over my social media, the staff was very helpful, gracious. courteous, professional, very friendly, and funny too. If you are ever in the DTLA area, please quickly stop by and have a bite of the most Veganist donuts ever. The cute and very clean donut shop is on Broadway and 6th Street, down the street form the middle of DTLA's famous Pershisng Square. Lots of square wooden bench seating too. They have a large selection of a variety of donuts, coffes, hot and cold drinks, and different sodas to to chose from. The staff has great customer service too! They felt like family!! The staff extended my every courtesy too. Very welcoming and the donuts are fat and delciously scrumptous! You will not be disappointed! The donut shop is very inviting, clean and well set up for your dining ejoyment experience! Kids and pets friendly too! OOXX

Yelp
Ok.. parking... good luck... I went on a Sunday morning at 7am... I still had to be creative on my parking and hit my hazard lights... also, theres quite a number of street folk walking around... sorry for the loss of a star.... that being said... I love this place!!! Abigail, the 'donutista' behind the counter was nice. I think she found me strange walking in so early and excited to be there on a Sunday morning, lul! But all good! The donut selection was a lot! Hard to choose. You can't buy a dozen donuts, but all individually bought. I got 4 donuts: Strawberry Lab, Angry Samoa, Fritter Seems Forever, & The Panda Berry. I also got a 12 Small Brown Bites (donut holes) and an iced coffee with oat milk. I have only had the Angry Samoa and the Small Brown Bites with my iced coffee so far, and worth every penny!! Completely delicious! This place takes donuts to such a high level of Yum!!! I gotta say, at the end someone from the street was standing at the window yelling at the store at me! I didn't know what was happening?! Then they came into the store and yelled out to buy them a donut. Abigail, as nice as she was, respond to the street person to get out and that they can't ask customers to buy them a donut! Fearless Abigail, kudos to ya! The ambiance made me feel safe and secure! I thank you Abigail! I understand that to work downtown you gotta have a fearlessness about oneself :) At any rate, will I go back.... If it weren't for the parking situation... I'd definitely would say yes! But, I may have to say that id probably use a delivery service next time :) I am a return customer!

Yelp
I was in DTLA today for a few hours when I spotted this place. My son was with me and of course he wanted to check it out. We got a few donuts to try out. It was ok, there is a bit of an aftertaste of the oil My son like the chocolate sprinkle donut..... there is a lot to chose from. They also sell vegan ice cream. Customer service was ok, not the friendliest.

Yelp
I stopped by on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The donut was fresh, soft, and delicious. The service was exceptionally friendly- I took my time deciding on my order, and the lady was patient and helpful!

Yelp
AMAZING donut joint. I had a pre-order for Valentine's day and there seemed to be a mishap with the ordering system sending incorrect times for pick up. I showed up 45 minutes earlier than the intended pick up time due to this issue, the Donut Friend team was able to work quickly and get my box ready anyways! Extremely appreciative of the swift action and cannot wait to be back. My partner is lactose intolerant but his favorite sweets are donuts. When I find vegan donut shops he always groans, "They're not the same, they won't be good!" What a combo, am I right? When I surprised him with the Valentines donuts, I made sure not to say anything til he took his first bite. He was so surprised and still can't believe it! We'll be back for sure to try the rest of the flavors.

Yelp
Food - Donuts are AMAZING and yummy. Service is absolutely wonderful and Traci was the Best-of-the-BEST!!! Ambiance is a casual donut shop with a wide selection for everyone. I asked for a chocolate donut filled with whipped cream instead of custard (back East style) and it was so good. The coffee is also good as well. Donut Friend is also 100% VEGAN. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. This was our second time and we will continue to repeat.
google avatar

Yelp
The best vegan donuts in LA!! So underrated, more people should be coming here! The donuts are thick and doughy with a very large area of classic and unique flavors. M favorite is the creme brûlée donut and second favorite is the chocolate covered custard. It's cool that they don't advertise "vegan" anywhere in the store- just goes to show that the donuts are amazing as a stand alone product and are non-vegan approved There is another location in Highland park- the area is better area but not as big as the DTLA store.
google avatar

Roza T.

Yelp
Best donuts I've ever eaten! Probably best to get there when they open to get your choice of donuts in case they sell out, cuz well they are that good!!!

Yelp
Downtown Donut Kingdom! What a pleasant surprise to discover this place in the heart of the Historic Broadway Theater District! Very friendly service, modern, precisely clean & bright place. Tasty & Yummy

Veronika L.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in DTLA for vegan sweet bite. I'm obsessed with their concept from the moment I found out about them and visited Eagle Rock location. The variety of options is mind blowing (especially since it's a 100% plant based donut shop) and everyone is super friendly all the time. There isn't much area to sit and enjoy it inside but the interior still looks not bad for the limited amount of space they have.
google avatar

Tony L.

Yelp
Got two donuts, maple raised with crumb topping and an apple fritter. Got these right before closing and appreciate the workers for letting me go in. Donuts most likely much better when fresh. Maple raised was good but crumble had a weird flavor that worked against it. Apple fritter was solid, could be more crispy but likely due to it being later in the day. Will try again closer to opening time.
google avatar

Kae J.

Yelp
It was a donut. It was good but over priced. I don't remember what they called it, but it was a chocolate doughnut with cream filling.

Yelp
We couldn't decide so we al picked 2 and shared them! It's the great way to do it when you're new there. Blue: Paramoreox3 Cream center: Creme brûlée x3 Brown: Crazy Samoa x3.5 Yellow: Passionfruit x4 Tan: Lavender Citrus x5 Pink: Rose water & pistachios x10 This right here... literally evoked emotion. Both my son and I teared up eating it. Not a joke! Do you and whoever you love a sweet treat favor and get to it! Not to mention the service of the young ladies that are there every time we go, are so pleasant and joyful. We love it here. Don't leave and don't change! Always clean, upbeat & bright! Thank you!

Yelp
Stopped in while walking around DTLA. Grabbed the Mint Town, and damn it was bomb! They have a lot of really good looking donuts in there. Certainly gotta go back. If you're in the area of a location I'd suggest stopping in! Service was good. Store is pretty spacious.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
Best vegan donuts in the world, and their vegan ice cream is top shelf. Also if you didn't know they were vegan, you wouldn't be able to tell because their donuts and ice cream is that good. The true testament is that my 4 year old son pictured here can't tell the difference. Rock on Donut Friend!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I ordered two compassion fruit donuts and WOW, my expectations were FAR exceeded ! The donut itself is traditional and light, nothing too oily. The glaze is full-bodied and tart which pairs perfectly with the sweet donut base. Will definitely order this again and am excited to try other flavors !!

Mia B.

Yelp
Donuts were so fresh even later in the day! We got 6 donuts and they were all moist and fluffy. The space was clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Best donut place I've been to! 10/10 recommend :)
google avatar

Karrie S.

Yelp
This place is really good! We had them delivered twice and we really enjoyed them. Flavor and freshness were there! Will definitely continue to have these little treats from them!
google avatar

Yelp
Vegan donuts can be tasty. And they sure are at Donut Friend. Thank you, Sally from Six Taste Food Tours for introducing our group to this amazing donut shop in DTLA. So many fun flavors to choose from. The angry Samoa was heavenly. They also have ice cream, but I couldn't fit anything eise in my belly. Guess I'll have to come back!

Yelp
I stumbled upon Donut Friend while casually strolling down South Broadway. Little did I know that I was truly in for a treat! Donut Friends's staff was very welcoming and friendly, and the establishment was both clean and well maintained. Donut Friend's prices were on the higher end, but their masterpieces made of dough were extremely creative, visually appealing, and most importantly they were delicious! Also, they made a pretty good cappuccino. Recommendations: - Caramel cappuccino - "Fritter Seems Forever" (Apple Fritter) - "Youth Brulée" (crème brulée donut)
