Grandad’s is better but this place is trendier. We just like cake donuts better than yeasty boys.

Trendier donut shop in a cute residential area. They do the yeasty type of donuts with crazy flavors - they had a kimchi one last time we went (which we did not get lol). The hibiscus, apple fritter and earl grey were pretty good. There's a park near here that's great for picnics!

Good selection of fresh donuts. Have seasonal flavors and lots of tasty regulars. Pre-ordering helps ensure you get what you want, some donuts sell out. Donuts are large in size, definitely a good sharing treat. Friendly service.

Everyone loves Donut Monster. Our kids will have core memories of this place, we've been bringing them here since they were babies. If we tell the kids we have a fun surprise for them, their first guess is always "were going to donut monster?!?!" Always such creative and fun selection of flavours! My favourites are the cake donuts, just enough of a treat without being too heavy. They also have a walk-thru window at the side, so if you're walking your dog on Locke Street, you can walk up from outside to get your donuts! They also have some picnic tables at the side to enjoy your treats in the nice weather. We love ordering multiple flavours and splitting them and sharing them! This place is great because they have VEGAN options, but it would be nice to see a gluten free option as well one day.

Very tasty donuts. You will be a monster for them all. Some unique flavours year round or seasonal ones. Open your mind and try them. The Kimchi Fritter is awesome. The Coconut cream is one of the best of its kind. There is a seasonal Dill Pickle one too. So good. Well decorated inside. Clean facility. Clean washrooms. Very friendly staff. Free WiFi. Walk up window available. No credit card surcharge. Bicycle racks out front.

I had never tried fritters before. I tried one at Donut Monster for the first time in my life and it was the best. It was crunchy and sweet and flavourful. I had to buy a few other donuts to try and nothing compares to the apple fritter. 💯 once I try some fritters in other places then I can compare.

Just left here with my fiancee, we got a Dulce de Leche, Praline and Cream, and the HamOnt. The Dulce de Leche and Praline and Cream were absolutely amazing, definitely some of the best donuts I've ever had. Can't recommend these enough. The HamOnt, on the other hand, I did not enjoy at all. I'm not sure if the chocolate was burnt, or they use unsweetened bakers chocolate; but it was bitter and not good. Again, not sure if maybe something went wrong with this batch, but I will not be getting these again. The other 2 I will get again for sure.

Google
The dough itself would be better if it had a little more chew. The apple fritter is good, but I've had many better ones. It could use more apple. The mango poppyseed and spiced pear are mediocre. The flavour just doesn't hit. The orange creamsicle was the most awful donut I've ever eaten - arguably the worst thing period. I'm guessing they zested oranges for flavour, but way over did it by getting lots of the white pith. It was extremely bitter and left a terrible after taste for a few hours. All it took was one bite and your taste buds were off. Everyone that took a bite had deep regrets about it.

Google
We came in hoping to try their famous apple fritters, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Instead, we tried the vanilla bean cake, blood orange hibiscus, and cereal milk donuts. The blood orange hibiscus wasn’t quite to my taste, but my friend really enjoyed the unique flavors. My favorite was definitely the vanilla bean cake! I’m excited to come back and try more varieties.

Nice little donut shop, where you can get donuts and coffee and chill. Love their variety of donuts flavours, always with twist.

Yelp
If you don't know about Donut Monster, you must be brand new to Hamilton or you literally have no communication with the outside world... ever. I love their different combos. If they are making it, I will eat it. Out of the last bunch I bought, the fried pickle donut was the star. What an unexpected delight for my taste buds. The crispy sour dill pickle with the sweet soft donut was an experience I quite enjoyed. It really won the day for me. The hurricane donut was also such a treat. It used to be my younger self's favourite drink... so to have that in a donut was a dream and also brought my taste buds back to the good ol' days. I even love the inside, it's just so cozy. It's wonderful place to go and catch up with friends over a latte and donut.

Yelp
First time trying this place and it was great. The crew behind the counter, the awesome vibe of the seating area, and most importantly the donuts were really MONSTER-sized with great flavors. Simply fabulous. The cinnamon bun was beautifully made. I was lucky enough to visit at the perfect timing when they cranked out a fresh tray. It's even better than a lot of their donuts -- perfect sweetness and icing texture. The bun itself was still warm and soft. Very happy about it! The coconut cream monster-sized donut with real shredded coconut & creamy sweet filling. 100% satisfaction! The strawberry lemonade monster-sized donut with fruity glaze & creamy citrus filling. 100% refreshing! Compared to our widely beloved Timmy's in Canada, this is a complete K.O., BUT in Round 2 though. Why not Round 1? The dough was just... just slightly too dense for me. It's like having a birthday cake texture rather than a fluffy "honey cruller" kind of softness. Again, it's a personal preference. Nevertheless, it is still a clear win in my opinion. Go and visit this Monster in Hamilton if you have a sweet tooth and want something different. Like this place!

Yelp
Stopped by this place while on a trip to Niagara, well worth the trip. All of the donuts tasted great but my favorite was the vanilla bean

Yelp
Incredible donut!!!! The flavours are thoughtful and the sweetness isn't overwhelming. The staff is very kind, and very is plenty of seating to enjoy your bite. The coffee is also great.

Yelp
I only have three words to say about Donut Monster, "BANANA NUT FRITTER"!!! ... the pastry I never knew I needed until I tasted it. :-)

Yelp
Visiting from Escondido, CA, I was on the search for authentic Butter Tarts here in Hamilton. Guide books and internet articles regard the Butter Tarts as an iconic staple here in Ontario. So, when I ordered the Pecan Butter Tart from Donut Monster, I thought to myself, "This is way bigger than the pictures." Then I found some regular Butter Tarts at another establishment down Locke Street for comparison. The Pecan Butter Tart from Donut Monster maybe huge, but, the taste was spot on and better than the regular Butter Tarts I had (they were still good). It was not too sweet, the donut base was fresh and soft and the maple frosting and the actual piece of a Butter Tart in the center put the overall taste way over the top, imagining how the best Butter Tarts should taste. My taste buds truly enjoyed this very flavorful piece of Ontario's culture. I wish we had this back home!!! By the way, the ambiance and service was excellent, many patrons occupied the majority of the establishment.

Yelp
This is a really trendy spot at a local favourite for Hamilton folks. It is a great donut shop that many people will make sure that they visit anytime they're in town. It is loved by students and buy local community members. There is a large amount of seating, and it is a great spot to dine in as well . There is a great variety of seasonal donuts with rotating flavors. The donuts have vegan options which is great if that is something you are looking for. The donut has a great chew and bite in your mouth. The place is also very trendy and is worth taking a Instagram pictures if you think that is something you like as well. The staff are all very friendly and exceptional too! There is also coffee by pilot coffee roasters, so a great selection of lattes and drip coffee as well

Yelp
We were in the area and Donut Monster was highly recommended by multiple friends. We were lucky to go on Christmas Eve (and they were open thank goodness) and parking on the street was free! They had a lot of festive flavours - we ordered in the picture Going clockwise from top left: Chocolate Babka Roll, peppermint chocolate cake, baileys and coffee, eggnog brûlée, mulled wine and vanilla bean. My favourite was the chocolate babka roll. It was like cinnamon bun texture but chocolate! The second loved one was the vanilla bean. Yes. Very classic. Super soft and fresh. Next runner up for us was peppermint chocolate (very minty) and finally the baileys and coffee. You can taste that beautiful mix of aromas in one bite. The mulled wine wasn't spicy enough for us (and didn't have enough of that mulled wine feel for us) and the eggnog brûlée was a bit too sweet for us. We would definitely be back when in the area again!

Yelp
My visit was just at 2pm on a Saturday so there were some flavours that were sold out. I was second party in line when I first walked in but eventually the line grew pretty fast by the time I ordered. Lovely spot with friendly staff. Not picture was the apple fritter I had on the way home before opening my box. I personally did not enjoy the chocolate halva (strong on the tastebuds) and the sweet potato fritter. Other than that, everything else was phenomenal.

Linda P.

Yelp
There's nothing wrong with anything to do with service or ambiance or food, really Personally, I prefer donuts that are the usual or a little bit out there but didn't enjoy their flavours. Also, the prices are a bit high . But.if you're on Locke given them a try. You be the judge!

Yelp
Donut Monster was recommended by a friend and we came here since we were in the area. It's a cute donut shop in Hamilton and they have a walk through ordering system, which is pretty cool. We didn't have to wait to long at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. We ordered the tequila lime donut, apple fritter donut, watermelon lime paleta, plus a cereal milk milkshake. The donuts were soooo soft and fresh! The tequila lime donut had salt bits on it (like real tequila), but I'm not so sure I was a fan of it. I appreciate how creative it was on trying replicate the actual taste, but I prefer my donuts to be sweet. The apple fritter had a little spice to it, which I wasn't too fond of either. Although, my boyfriend liked it. The paleta was so refreshing and tasty on a hot summer day! Def would try the other flavours. The cereal milk milkshake was my favourite! Loved the flavour and the bits of cereal they put in it. I think it was fruity pebbles, or something similar. The only thing I didn't like was the paper straw. I'm all for being eco friendly, but the straw gets really mushy in a milkshake, esp when it's a larger cup. Definitely recommend this place to try out all their products!

Yelp
Great place for coffee and donuts. They have a "walk-through" window where you can order from outside!

Yelp
Donut Monster had an outlet in the Stackd complex (Bathurst and Front St) in Toronto for a while, but it closed soon after the pandemic began. I've dreamed of those donuts for month. We finally took a trip to the source and visited twice in two days. The donuts are amazing as always. They're just so fresh and the toppings /fillings are unique and flavourful with just the right textures. It was nice to see the shop that sells them (from the outside - they have a walk-up window for ordering) and the coffee was good, too. There's a nice patio outside with ample space for donut eaters. A busy place and a lot of folks were there to pickup pre-ordered boxes. Yummy stuff. We miss you in Toronto!

Yelp
I was very disappointed with my experience I read so many reviews and hurts so much great things I was very excited to try there donuts I visited on a Friday evening right before closing there was still quite a few Donuts available but all the flavours seemed very similar and not that interesting I decided to try the cinnamon Spice Donuts and the blueberry fritter The cinnamon Spice Donut had no cinnamon no spice it just tasted like sugar on top of a donut and I was really disappointed because I did not want a sugar donut and that's what it tasted like The blueberry fritter tasted really good the blueberries weren't powerful there was a hint of blueberry throughout the pastry it is very large, all their donuts are large and fluffy

Yelp
Great place with inventive donut flavours. I'm not a big fan of donuts, but this place deserves a 4 star cause they have more than donuts. Their coffee, milkshake and rotational seasonal drinks are good. There is consistently a line, so don't kid yourself into thinking " I'll just come back when there's less people in the line." The quickest way to skip through the line is pre- order and then you can just pick it up. They're still not open for indoors seating yet, but the outdoor seatings is equally as comfortable and instagram friendly. Beautiful artwork and planters. What more can we ask fr. This is a great area to be if you're on a date, catching up with friends or just enjoying your desserts on your own or with family. The side window shows a good display of their daily donut variety of flavours. Did I mention they also have milkshakes...yums.

Yelp
This is what you want in a doughnut store. Absolutely nailed it. First: the doughnuts have to be fresh and great flavours. They aren't trying to bend your mind, but they have creative flavours that all harken to what makes a good doughnut - sweet on top of fluffiness. Second: it's a place worth going. They have good tea and coffee, nice places to sit with a date or hang with a few friends while you polish off the spoils. The decor makes it a great place to hang out. I'm sure it'll help your instagram feed too if needed ;) Third: it's a local business owned by real Canadians! They have some cool swag (I wear the orange beanie all the time) and you can tell they are proud to serve great tasting food in a relaxing environment. Can't wait to go back! We will have to visit every time we drive to the US/CAN border now!

Yelp
Their coffee AND doughnuts were both amazing! Nice rich and smooth coffee and WAY too many cool kinds of doughnuts to make it easy to pick. We ened up getting a dozen and bringing them to a party. We were a hit, as you might imagine. The cream cheese one was a favourite as well at the lemon filled on. But honestly, they were all amazing. The people working there were lovely too! Lovely spot to eat one there and have a coffee or great for takeout too The earlier in the day you go the more selection you'll have.

Yelp
Donuts at this place are fairly priced ($3-$3.25) and pretty big. More than big though, they are dense. I picked up the box of 12 and couldn't believe just how heavy they were. If you're into that, than these are the donuts for you. Personally, I prefer my donuts a little lighter/fluffier. Flavor wise, they were pretty good. The gay bar (the rainbow brick) wasn't a very interesting flavor and the food coloring in the dough did something to the overall texture/flavor that I didn't love but proceeds went to a good cause so I didn't mind. Their other donuts had more interesting flavors. While all were quite sugary, I think it worked better for some than others. The mango coconut, for instance, was awesome as was the coconut cream filled. Whereas, the brown butter walnut was just okay. I also was disappointed by the fritters because I found they were a lot of dough inside and not much else happening. It was cool they had flavors other than apple though. All in all I'd say the donuts were good, not great. I'd stop in again if I were passing by but I don't think I'd go out of my way to get more.

Yelp
Whenever i'm working in the area, i'll always mission for @DonutMonsterhamilton freshly baked donuts from scratch! These donuts are massive and so decadent, and there's always new flavours for you to try! I ordered: - Peanut Butter Honey Brûlée - Pecan Butter Tart Bullseye - Whiskey Sour - Sarsaparilla - Hamilton Hurricane - Choc Peanut Butter Filled - Cinnamon Spice (Classic!) - Rice Krispie Bar My favourite will always be the Cinnamon Spice, but I think one of my favourites in this menu is the Peanut Butter Honey Brûlée donut. Great combo and full of flavour! The sarsaparilla donut was also super interesting, as the donut itself is infused with real rootbeer! Service is also super friendly and helpful, and their coffee is amazing!!!
google avatar

Abby T.

Yelp
Definitely a must-visit place in Hamilton if you're a fan of desserts. Their fritters are huge (I ended up taking part of it home to eat later). If you want to get a good selection, though, be sure to visit earlier in the day because they sell out of most flavours in the later few hours before closing.
google avatar

Yelp
I think this is my first time having such *fancy* donuts! I got a box of 6 and after tax and tip it came to just over $18. Felt very safe ordering this during Covid at the window. The flavours were hit or miss for me, but my favourites were the pecan butter tart and cranberry almond. The carrot cake was okay, but had too much icing for me so it was too sweet. Hamilton Hurricane was good for me too, but my friend found it to be too strong, so I don't think it's for everyone. The only flavour I tried that I didn't enjoy was the salted caramel--very salty. I personally am not a huge fan of sweets (I prefer mild sweetness) so keep that in mind. Overall the dough itself was good. If I return I'll be looking to try the other flavours!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Okay so I consider myself to be a bit of a donut connoisseur lately haha. I ventured to donut monster after scoping them out for week on Instagram. The staff was friendly and ordering via walk through window was super quick abs efficient! Here is my review of the 4 flavours I tried 1. Lavender lemon. was my favourite. It was such a unique taste, I'd say about 70% lavender and 30% lemon but it was great! Not too heavy. 4* 2. Pear poached fritter. I was sooo disappointed in this one. There was basically no pear involved whatsoever? It tasted very plain and almost oily - was not a fan. I give this one a 1* 3. Buttered toast. I was disappointed in this one as well. It tasted very "mapley" to me? The texture was fine but the taste was just not what I was expecting. Maybe that's my fault for having expectations though. I give this one a 2* 4. Coconut macaroon bullseye. This was was good! The coconut cream that surrounds the macaroon was *insanely* good. The macaroon was extremely hard though. Almost hard to even bite through, which was weird. 3.5* for this one.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
This is not your average donut shop! It's a gourmet donut shop filled with a smorgasbord of mouth watering favors, from coconut to tropical quarantine. Bring your stretchy pants and be prepared to be wowed!
google avatar

Yelp
I always come here to stock up on the minor figures oatmilk as it's the closest place to where I live that carries it. I've had a few of their donuts and they've all been delicious. Today was my first time trying their coffee and I will definitely be getting a latte every time I come here, their heritage blend is soooo smooth and creamy and has a lot of depth of flavour. I'm so happy I tried it and highly recommend it. Can't wait to come back!

Lena F.

Yelp
I really have to control myself in this place. So addictive! I had their lavender lemon donut and cinnamon sugar which both were great. I'm sure other flavours are just as good. I like how they open early unlike other pastry places so I can grab some for later or as a present. I think if you can 6 or more you don't have to pay taxes. Their coffee was good. But they have a variety of drinks such as milkshakes, milk tea etc. Good seating area, clean and nice staff.
google avatar

Dan J.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Donut Monster only one hour prior to closing and we're worried about running out of options. Clearly that was not the case, they still had 80% of their variety still available! My favourite was the Lemon Earl Grey donut (bottom left), extremely tangy and sweet with an aromatic aftertaste. The decorative Earl grey leaves ontop the glaze was the cherry on top! I paired my donut with hot spiced cider, fantastic combo in the cold breeze of Hamilton winter.

Yelp
I really wanted to fall in love with this place and was super excited to finally visit but the donuts were not as satisfying as I thought they would be. We got the apple fritter, Paloma grapefruit donut, and the peanut butter banana filled donut with a lavender lemon milkshake. The apple fritter was good, not too sweet but it tastes like something is missing flavour wise. The texture of the fritter is really good though. The Paloma grapefruit donut was good. Not very sweet but it was not very light or airy, a little more dense than I would have liked. The flavours were subtle, which was alright. The peanut butter banana filled donut was good. The topping had a strong peanut butter frosting and I throughly enjoyed it. Last but definitely not least, we had the lavender lemon milkshake. At first sip, I thought I was sipping on whipped cream. The milkshake was mixed well and the lavender and lemon compliment each other well in this tart creamy drink. If you like traditional old fashion milkshakes, this might be a little light for you but this was probably my favourite out of everything we got today.

Yelp
THE BEST VEGAN DONUTS I'VE HAD YET! Donut Monster has very interesting concoctions and most of their donuts are vegan friendly too! This is surprising since their donut dough is still springy, light without being dry, and has a nice chew. My favourite flavours are: -Honeydew Matcha -Pineapple Sesame Crunch Donut Monster is an AWESOME local shop and they're definitely a game changer in the donut world!
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
Surprised nobody reviewed this yet... Incredibly popular and busy. Line is nuts. One time visit for me. Too much waiting, crying kids in line.. Headache. Great selection of donuts. Closes early.
google avatar

Rosemarie D.

Yelp
With Covid how it worked is we ordered online ahead for a box. It's a window shop too so if you are in the area you can buy on the fly with flavours in store. The size of the donuts were impressive! The flavours even more so. The Apple fritter tastes like seasonal heaven! Pumpkin pie and strawberry lemonade were a creative smash hit from this place as well. If you are looking for donuts that are tasty, out of the box, humongous and surprising this is a must stop for you.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Very friendly, prompt service and excellent quality. A little on the pricier side but well worth it. Not your typical donut place.
google avatar

Jolene C.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place - I'm always on the lookout for yummy donuts (esp watching Stephanie Buttermore on YT). Unfortunately, the donuts at donut monster look better than they taste. A plus is that the donuts here are huge and decently priced for the amount you're getting. We ordered a blueberry fritter, a triple chocolate donut, and a strawberry cheesecake donut. My favourite out of the three would have to be the fritter, but that's not saying too much - it was quite dense and the blueberry flavour definitely did not shine. The strawberry cheesecake one was so sickeningly sweet and artificial tasting that I ended up throwing that one out. Chocolate is usually my favourite flavour but the filling inside also tasted very artificial. Overall a disappointing experience and probably would not visit again.
google avatar

Annecy P.

Yelp
Love the variety of flavours that they have here! Cute decorations and delicious doughnuts make this place a must-visit any day. My favourite would be the Blood Orange Hibiscus! I find the apple fritters a little too dough-y and the coffee leaves a slightly sour aftertaste in my mouth that I do not enjoy. They are open until 6pm or when they sell out so do try and come earlier in the day! The store has a cool mural on the side of the building and practically beckons you to come inside and munch on some donuts!
google avatar

Todd K.

Yelp
This looks like a really exciting prospect in a town I don't expect to find exciting prospect for fine food. Both being big pastry fans we went in and suffered a short but efficient lineup. The donuts looked amazing with some really creative flavors. Consequently we over ordered - five huge donuts between two of us! But hey, who can resist donuts?!! And at best they were ok to good. Sadly they have failed in perfecting the dough. In donuts where the standard is light but chewy they were heavy. The cinnamon crueler was quite good, but the other five-I wouldn't bother again. So sad...
google avatar

Duke S.

Yelp
A box of 6 donuts was $17. Got their peanut butter chocolate (didn't taste a whole lot of peanut), double coconut (decent), and a matcha and a peach schnapps with rum donut (did not like) They are very dense and heavy which if you like your donuts like that you'll enjoy it
google avatar

Stella J.

Yelp
This shop has a lot of different flavours of donuts. As others have said the dough is more dense than fluffy and most donuts have the same dough with different frosting. Overall, the chocolate donut with chocolate ganache in the centre was the best.
google avatar

Brina A.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by to catch up. The three of us ordered a couple of donuts (blood orange and lemon pistachio) and green tea. The donuts were both delicious and very fluffy. The blood orange (pictured) was my favourite of the two. We arrived on a Friday afternoon, and there was no line-up. There were also plenty of chairs and seats available. We stayed for a couple of hours, even getting free tea refills. The prices are on the more expensive side, but I would come back for a special occasion or as a meeting place that is different from your typical Starbucks.
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
Fortunately both times I've come in on a Saturday they haven't been sold out. Finishing a whole donut is a challenge - they are large but oh so good. Elevated flavour combinations and vegan options that don't taste vegan. Line moves fast.

Yelp
Donut Monster on Locke Street was introduced to me by a local cousin. I was sure this Hamilton shop would be much like the many such similar gourmet doughnut shops all over Toronto, and it did not disappoint. Its corner location and hip over-the-top branding certainly demands attention. A bunch of interesting upbeat flavours and varieties. Apple fritter, chai spice, cinnamon spice, honey cardamom, matcha... man all these choices are making my mind crash. Apparently they even had a sriracha donut at one point! Kinda pricey (flavours are based on what kind of donut it is), but huge. I did give their milkshake a try too--a peach cobbler flavour or something like that for the fall harvest period. It came in a big cup and was damn thick and oh boy did it cost me in the neighbourhood of one arm. Sure did sweeten my tummy though. Quite a monster this place is.

Yelp
I went to this cute donut shop last weekend as I was in the Hamilton area with my husband and saw the great rating for this place so we thought we'd try it. There were about ten different flavours, which made it hard to pick just a few as we just wanted to get the four donuts for $13 deal. We ended up getting the following donuts: raspberry white chocolate cheesecake, the mint matcha, cinnamon and tropical flavoured. By far, I thought that the best one was the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake as it was filled with cream that actually tasted like cheesecake. The raspberry and white chocolate glaze on it was pretty, delicious and not too sweet. The second best one was the mint matcha as the glaze also had the right amount of sweetness and subtle notes of the mint and matcha flavours. These two donuts tasted fresh and moist. The cinnamon and the tropical one on the other hand, were not as fresh tasting and disappointingly a bit dry on the inside. The cinnamon sugar donut tasted decent at first bite (not the most interesting flavour to begin with, I know) but the fact that it was a bit dry kind of dampened my overall impression of it. Same for the tropical donut - the passionfruit mango glaze had potential but after taking a few more bites, we noticed that the inside was also a bit dry which was disappointing. It seems that some batches are more fresh than others and some flavours are better than others. Other things to note about this place are that there is a good amount of seating for about 30 people and it's a cute cafe style setting. It was a quiet enough place to hang out in and have conversations while enjoying our donuts. There was also free water by the entrance for those that have time to dine in. Staff also weren't that friendly but polite enough when answering questions about the donut flavours - I'm just going to assume that they were busy earlier in the day and they were just tired by the time we came here in the late afternoon. This place has potential as tasted in the first two flavourful donuts that I described - I just wish that all batches were more consistently fresh tasting. I'd be willing to try other flavours from this place in the future though if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Visited after seeing all the hype on social media. Beautiful shop, friendly staff, super unique flavours, vegan options. Picked up a half dozen donuts ($16.25) to bring to a party, including their chai spice, carrot & pineapple fritter, ube coconut and pineapple sesame crunch. I wanted to love them but unfortunately I found the donuts to all be really dry, and the icing was super flakey and just cracked off everywhere. Maybe they weren't very fresh as I went in right before closing and ate them later that same day, but dissappointing nonetheless. The donuts barely got touched except by me, since I was eager to try all the flavours. I definitely want to give them another try (so much potential, especially that giant fritter!!!) and hopefully I can update with a nice doughy donut!
google avatar

Holly R.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here for the donuts and outside seating. The only reason it's not getting a 5star rating is because, though the staff always seem to be upbeat and having fun. I noice more often then not that it's at the expense of good customer service. I have stood there countless times without even getting eye contact or a thanks from staff :/

Yelp
These donuts are to die for! They are so fresh and soft. Some of them are vegan or maybe all. I find I like some better than others like the cocoa and chai one. Some of them have too much sugar. The fritters are always my favourite. The size of the donut is worth the price. Definitely a must try! The service is quick and there is usually always a line unless the donuts are sold out.

Yelp
Quite disappointed in the freshness of these donuts but price, selection, and ambience is nice. I'm a very simple chocolate or sprinkle donut kinda gal so all these wacky flavours overwhelmed me; a sriracha donut, really?! Out of the 4 I tried, the caramel chocolate pecan was best and I really wished they had just a pistachio flavour because the lemon pistachio was way too heavy on the lemon. As a fancy "gourmet" donut shop I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, $13 for 4 donuts. However, they were not fresh at all!! Cold, not fluffy, and the icing cracked with each bite like a stale tim Horton's donut. I microwaved them and it tasted much better but I would expect more from a specialty donut shop.

Yelp
Creative and fun decorated donuts. Really fresh, and tastes good a few days later (heat it up).

Yelp
One of the best and well known donut shops to have opened in Hamilton. With their bricks and mortar store opened a few years ago their Locke Street location is the place for great donuts and coffee. The usual like apple fritter is my favourite but so as a wide assortment of unique flavours.

Yelp
I had heard about this place and it did not disappoint! We ordered 3 donuts to share and loved them all! The fritters were especially delicious! It's open and airy and while I've heard there is a big line, on a weekday, we walked right in and had lots of room to sit and chat over coffee and donuts. Can't wait til next time!

Yelp
I'm not a big fun of donuts. But their donuts are somewhat unique. My friend in Hamilton took me there and she told me it's a very famous donut shop there. It's like 2ish in the afternoon on a Saturday and we waited in line for about 20mins. I tried a spicy one and it tasted very different. I don't really love it but not hate it either. Overall I don't like super sweet stuff, however I'd like to try all local/famous gourmets while traveling.

Yelp
Long line to buy but worth the wait. All donuts are on the sweet side. But unique flavours and LACTOSE FREE OPTIONS! which is hard to find anywhere. ( they use coconut milk) Flavours like chai tea, blueberry and not your usual varieties. The donuts are large and more doughy than the usual donuts. These are meals. :) Unique tattoo style graphics adorn their boxes and store, plenty of community style seating. A must try in the hammer.
