Dooly's Hotel

Returned to Dooleys this week after not having visited since Christmas, big change is visible! Front of hotel and lobby looks great, flowers out at front are fab! Bar is now brighter and cleaner, staff well presented, food choice good for adults and kids alike. Our meal was very tasty and fresh. Staff also attentive and visible on the floor so we were well looked after. Great to see the hotel coming back to life, we live local so will be back

I visited this hotel recently just for lunch, and I was truly impressed. The service was absolutely amazing — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from the moment I arrived. The food was just as excellent! The fish&chips was beautifully presented and full of flavour only thing is on the menu as gluten free but gluten free was not available at that time . It was a great experience overall, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-quality meal with outstanding service.

Dropped in last week for a bit of lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Place looks like it’s had a small makeover fresh flowers as you enter, friendly presentable staff and a nice menu with plenty of choice. Nice quick service just what you need for your lunch break. Will definitely be back.

We stopped for lunch in the beautiful town of Birr, & called into Dooleys. Staff were very welcoming & attentive, we chose a great spot in the comfortable surroundings in the traditional style bar/restaurant. I had a delicious homemade soup with tasty brown bread and my son devoured his burger! We will return!

Food is delicious. Certainly the best place in Birr for food. Excellent value for money. I come here regularly, and the food is always exceptional. There’s a great selection on their bar menu. The meat is always so tender and juicy, and the food is so fresh. The desserts are to die for. Very good portion sizes. I would highly recommend Dooly’s.

Only ate food here. Great location, charming old fashioned place, nice atmosphere. Very good service from lovely lady. Food was average, delicious chips, steak was cooked to a perfection. Fish was overdone, the coating was bit burned and too crispy. It is a nice spot for a quick bite. We definitely come back.

I was in Birr yesterday and went into Dooleys for lunch, the stake sandwich was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly. I’ll definitely be back again as the hotel is right in the middle of the town and would be perfect location for a weekend away. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful service. Anita at the front desk couldn’t do enough for me and made me feel at home from the start. ||I enjoyed a curry my first night in the hotel restaurant, and you cannot beat the quality and portion of the complimentary breakfast. I noticed that many locals come in from the street to eat there. Amazing coffee! On both mornings there, the servers smiled genuinely and made me feel welcome.||Anita made recommendations for a dinner for my second night in Birr, so I took a short walk to the County Arms Hotel. I had a wonderful baked salmon.||Also: No complaints about my clean and sanitary room at Dooly’s. I enjoyed two great nights’ sleep in the heavenly bed. The shower was easy to figure out, which is always a plus!||On the minus side, the carpets in the corridors are worn and the decorations are dated. If you’re looking for a shiny state-of-the-art hotel, this isn’t it.||But if a comfortable mattress, good food, and a welcoming staff makes you happy, Dooly’s is the place for you.

Had a very tasty meal here today. The food was delicious. I had chicken wing starter, pizza main and choc fudge cake for dessert, literally can't move now I'm so full lol everything was lovely, fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We got a table no problem although it did get quite busy after that. The lounge was very well kept, clean and comfortable.

Dominating Emmet Square is the large tidy discreet Georgian building known as Doolys Hotel. Favoured by travellers and market goers, it's always humming with activity. It's a comfortable old shoe of a building, with some modern day polish. Bustling staff efficiently take care of you at reception or steer you into the dining room. There's always a carvery for lunch- which is always well attended. Given its location in the centre of the town square, parking is close at hand in the centre of the square. However, on a busy day these will fill up early in the day. We always stop there when travelling cross county - a handy and comfortable place to stop.
