Coming from North America, where we know a good hot dog, I wasn’t expecting to be impressed—especially since I don’t usually like them. But this place completely changed my mind. The meat is flavorful and doesn’t have that overly processed taste. The combination of pickles, mustard, and crispy fried onions is simple yet perfectly balanced, adding the right amount of crunch and tang. Sometimes, the best dishes come down to simple, high-quality ingredients done right. I’ve even tried to recreate this exact hot dog after leaving—it’s that good.

Google
We tried the veggie option of the classic Danish Hot Dog, enjoyed it very much. Much appreciated the veggie option and organic quality 🙂. Simple, classic toppings, very good. The wholegrain bun was something different, enjoyed it very much. Service was friendly and fast, and we could just eat on a bench nearby.

Google
A delicious take on hot dogs using organic ingredients. The goat dog was flavourful and had a nice bite. Garnished with fresh onions, fried shallots, and pickles - dressed with ketchup, mustard, and remoulade with a whole wheat bun. The roasted spicy hot dog is much nicer than a traditional hot dog. Less gristle and more flavourful. Definitely a fun take on hot dogs at this stand just outside the Round Tower.

Google
Great plant based Copenhagen dog. Whole wheat bun was alright. Love the spicy ketchup. French hotdog was skippable in my opinion, nothing wrong with how they do it, it's just more bread thank anything else.

Google
Delicious hotdog. I had the classic sausage with all the toppings (pickles, ketchup, mustard, remoulade and crispy onions). The hotdog itself had a great snap and tasted delicious. Highly recommend getting all the toppings.

Google
These hotdogs live up to the hype, and I dare say that they even rival Iceland's reknown hotdogs... And this is coming from someone who doesn't normally even like hotdogs! I could honestly eat these all day, everyday. Made for the perfect midday snack, was a nice meal to warm up to on our cold afternoon out. Please do yourself a favor and find yourself at this stand, you won't regret it!

Google
Copenhagen’s fave hotdog brand with stall located along the main shopping street. Nice quick snack option. Accepts credit cards.

Google
One of the best hot dogs I’ve tried! I tried the sausage with cheese and without and both were great

Yelp

Yelp
Fun little place to grab a hotdog. I love the spicy hotdog. It is a street car vendor and they take credit cards so you do not need to pay cash.

Yelp
We were coming out of the Rundertaarn (The Round Tower) looking for the closest Danish style hot dog. They really could not make it any easier to order anywhere in Copenhagen. It was effortless and the guys behind the counter provide solid, speedy service. This was a good snack to hold me over until dinnertime but it was almost too organic for me. The bread, I think, is whole wheat? I think if they changed that then they would move up to four stars for me. BUT I totally undestand the concept behind this. They accomodate vegans and people with food allergies. It is also nice to see that all the packaging is made out of bio-degradable or recyclable materials.

Yelp
A good hotdog with normal amount of toppings. Not a fan of the area - it's quite crowded and the table next to the stand is a bit dirty. But a very good quick snack!

Yelp
Hot dogs. Lots of hot dogs. With lots of different options and toppings. It's iconic. And lives up to the reputation Ate here because Phil did.

Yelp
Hot dogs have a reputation for being cheap, low-quality street food, but Den Okologiske Polsemand ups the ante with its selection of organic sausages and quality ingredients. We got the Goat sausage, made with rosehip, nettle, and bacon; and the Cheese sausage, made with 20% vesterhavsost (a Danish cheese). My favorite was definitely the cheese sausage, which had a delightfully unctuous, salty flavor from the cheese. We got our sausages with a side of mashed root vegetables including potato, parsnip, and kohlrabi, along with sides of beets, chopped onions, fried onions, pickles, ketchup, and whole grain mustard. This combination made for a tasty snack and came at a great value too!

Yelp
I let the lady at counter choose my meat type, in which she chose chicken. I'm not much of a hot dog person but this was quite delicious and it was quick and easy!

Yelp
We were told that hot dog is a must try while in Copenhagen and DOP was featured in the Somebody Feed Phil Netflix show. This hot dog stand is conveniently located right next to the Round Tower which is a must visit and we were delighted to spot it when we were craving an evening snack. I enjoyed my veggie dog and husband went with their most popular meat option. Their bread is served toasted and ingredients organic and I loved the toppings - remoulade and crispy fried onions. Despite not being a fan of mustard typically, I enjoyed the condiment here.

Yelp
Stopped by this food truck for a traditional Danish hot dog. Not sure what I was expecting, but it's definitely quite different from the typical American glizzy. The sausage was higher quality for sure, and I liked that the vegetables balanced out the richness. A good place to get a quick lunch/snack, but nothing out of the world.

Yelp
Best bang for your buck, great location near Strogat, quick, iconic. The mustard is especially yummy. Grab some napkins and find a bench near the Church of Our Lady. What better way to celebrate the resurrection?

Kevin K.

Yelp
Heard a lot about these hot dogs in Copenhagen. We tried the #1 with everything on it. After the first bite, I turned around and bought 2 more. They are so freaking delicious!!! My mouth is watering while writing this. Damn it. I have to go back again. Oh. The Elderflower soda. Yum.

Yelp
With two locations on busy pedestrian streets "The Organic Hotdog Stand" may appear to be just another Food Cart, but thanks to multiple awards DØP (Den Økologiske Pølsemand) has earned an unlikely reputation as one of Copenhagen's top dining destinations. Near The Round Tower and The Church of The Holy Ghost, location number one more convenient on this occasion, DØP offers Organic Sausages atop Whole Grain Bread with Linseed at prices as low as DKK 40. Producing their own Sauces and certifying every Ingredient Organic, no small feat considering the variety, DØP's Fransk places a snappy traditional Danish Hotdog inside hollowed Bread slicked by Herb Dressing while the Oksekrydder uses Spicy Beef with Merguez seasoning and the works to up the ante. Also offering Pork, Chicken, Vegetarian and Cheese Sausages, plus Politiken's 2012 Organic Gold Medal winning Goat Sausage, suffice it to say customization is as easy as saying the words, a lack of raw Onions atop Gedepoise allowing the flavor of Rosemary a place amongst Goat, Pickles and Remoulade.

Yelp
With only a day in Copenhagen there was so much food we wanted to try but just not enough stomach space so the wife and i had to share a hot dog just so that we could say we had tried one of the famous Copenhagen street foods. Now i know you cant make a direct comparison with an American hot dog, obviously these are on two different levels, from the quality of the meat, the bun and the toppings. Overall it was a good bite and comparable to a german hotdog. I was definitely happy to have tried it and it was probably one of the cheaper eats in the city.

Yelp
I heard about this place on a show so when I came to Copenhagen for a long layover, I decided why not?! Took the tram from The airport which only took about 20 minutes then walked to the little place. Idk why I thought it would be much bigger but was just a little kiosk. I tried the roasted hotdog and it was so good. Def worth the little journey.

Yelp
Best veggie hotdog I have ever had, and I am from New York :) really good. Recommended.

Yelp
After spending way too much on restaurants while visiting Copenhagen, my friend and I decided to walk to a small hot dog stand near our hotel- SP34. For $7, we ordered the best hot dog of our lives. In fact, we went back for a second. With a handful of hot dogs to order from including a goat sausage, we opted in for their classic- the Roasted Hotdog. It comes with mustard, ketchup, remoulade, pickles, onions and fried onions. Wow. So good! Since it's just a stand, there aren't tables, but there are two benches behind it.

Yelp
I got the tofu dog French style. It's a really sweet little cart. I thought the taste was really good and very hot dog-like. The bread was a bit too chewy but I still enjoyed it. The "spicy ketchup" was so good! Wish it was bigger for its price.
google avatar

Yelp
Døp makes some great dogs! This unassuming street food cart is located right next to the Round Tower, which you can climb before or after to work off your dog. We learned about Døp from Phil Rosenthal and Somebody Feed Phil. It's an excellent recommendation for a Danish hot dog that won't break the bank. And if you're starving, it's definitely worth it to grab two. I loved all the toppings, especially the remoulade and fried onions!

Yelp
One of the last stops on our food tour, we stopped here for a 100% organic hot dog. Yes, organic. Hard to believe but it's true. And when they put all the hot dog together and left out the chemicals and garbage, they sure left in all the tasty deliciousness. I went right to the "number one" on the menu which is a roasted traditional hotdog, which comes with mustard and ketchup and a remoulade, plus fried and fresh onions and then topped with pickle slices. Shades of the famous "Chicago dog" here, but without the "nuclear green" relish. It. Was. Delicious. Easy enough to eat sitting down, probably not something you want to try eating standing or you might end up wearing the mustard. Good crisp skin, lots of tasty flavor, on a really nice bun. All the packaging is recyclable too. You simply will not find a better hot dog in all of København. This "hot dog cart" is located right next the Rundetårn (Round Tower) and there is some seating on the granite blocks nearby. "Den Økologiske Pølsemand" translates to "The Organic Sausage Man."

Yelp
came recommended by a few people. thought these dogs were pretty good. nothing crazy imo that would make you come here vs another good spot. a few benches behind the stand to sit and enjoy the hot dog.

Yelp
My friend and I looked up what to eat when in Copenhagen and hot dogs were on the top of the list. I yelped hot dogs and this place came up and had the best and most reviews, so I obviously had to go! I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs so I honestly was lit expecting much but this place was really good! It's a small little food cart/truck in the middle of a walkway plaza thing. I ordered the roasted hot dog with no pickles and remoulade. My friend ordered the french hot dog. They were both really good and the sausage was flavorful and wasn't he texture of those nasty Oscar Meyer hot dogs (if you know what I mean). Although they were good, they were a bit pricey and they didn't fill us up really. I'm glad we got to try them at least and say we ate hot dogs in Copenhagen!

Yelp
I knew I had to try a famous Danish hotdog before leaving, so I stopped by this truck, and got the most basic one - the Ristet Hotdog. This one was their traditional Danish hotdog served with ketchup, mustard, remoulade, fried & fresh onions, and pickles on what seemed to be on a multi-grain bun. It was definitely a lot smaller than I thought it would be. The sausage was good, but nothing spectacular. The bread was a little dry, and I felt like I was getting a mouthful of bread rather than a combination of the two. The pickles were also a little on the sweeter side, which threw me off. I've seen cheaper ones around the city, and at 35kr a piece (around $6), I would definitely have to pass on these hotdogs.

Tina Y.

Yelp
I had the spicy beef hot dog, which was good, but there was too much ketchup added. Also, the bun was really hard, which made the hotdog hard to eat. I finally took out the sausage and ate it after throwing away the rest of the hard bun with all the ketchup. I was expecting an American style hotdog bun with the sausage.
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
An amazing roasted hot dog. The bread is grainy and flavorful, but not to coarse in crumb. The sausage itself is smoky. It's super savory and fresh tasting. It's juicy. The dog is topped with with ketchup, mustard & remoulade, fresh and fried onions and pickles. The toppings are complex: sweet, savoury, and bitter. They present a cacophony of flavors that make this better than a standard hot dog cart. I loved DOP so much I ate here twice during my trip, a deviation from my usual commitment to novelty.

Mark R.

Yelp
One of the best hot dogs I've had. I ordered their standard Danish dog with everything but swapped in the spicy beef sausage. And an awesome setting right beneath The Round Tower. Very friendly service in Danish or English.
google avatar

Celine L.

Yelp
This review is coming fresh off the hotdog! I never found myself fond of hotdogs, but once I tried DØP, I was converted. Prices start at DKK35,00 for the "ristet hotdog" (roasted hotdog) and you can add DKK5 to upgrade to another sausage (ie: pork sausage with wild garlic, spicy beef sausage, cheese sausage, goat sausage, and even vegetarian tofu sausage. Seasoned on top with fried garlic flakes, ketchup, mustard or their special sauce, topped with pickle slices. It doesn't get any better than DØP's Danish hotdogs. DØP is located next to the Round Tower, you will pass through the Copenhagen University campus to get to the stand (if coming from Strøget). And even if it's raining, the trek to DØP is worth it. MUST TRY IN COPENHAGEN!!!

Yelp
While doing research on places to eat in Copenhagen, I bookmarked this specific hot dog stand (besides John's Hot Dog Deli) as a must eat. Everything sold here is organic (from the bun to the hot dog & the ingredients itself), and dop has won many awards. It was very tasty, but it didn't give me the wow factor. My sister & I still think John's Hot Dog was better. Nonetheless, we were happy to have tried the hot dog here. This specific stand is located in front of the Rundetaarn. Staff were very friendly, and spoke English. You can pay cash or credit card. They are not open on Sundays.

Yelp
Best Hot Dogs I have ever had in Europe! Also make for a relatively affordable meal in Copenhagen.
google avatar

Yelp
Hanegal offers a craft approach to the Danish hot dog. Bread Really good grain bread. Does not get soggy. Holds form extremely well. Meat: Sausage has good snap. Juicy and has a little complexity in its flavor, like a subtle smokiness. Condiments: Fresh grain mustard, ketchup, pickles and some mayo is on there. And some fried onions Great hot dog. Only issue is I need more condiments to stand up to the thick bread. Gets a little too dry. Needs more condiments and more even distribution. I truly adore the craft approach here. Each ingredient is stands out as high quality.

Yelp
Great vegan hot dog!!! A must stop for vegetarians or vegans visiting CPH!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
This was my first time trying a hotdog in Copenhagen, and it was great! I got the vegetarian hot dog, and I would definitely have it again. The toppings and sauces all fit well together: mustard, fried onions, pickles, onions. The pickles were so good and sweet. The bun was the best hot dog bun I've ever had. Not the bland buns like in the US. Gave 4 stores because I wish the hot dog was warmer
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
The tastiest hot dogs in all of Copenhagen! They have the yummiest organic hot dogs and sausages with a variety of toppings and sides. I love getting the parsnip mash or stewed kale, but even just the plain dogs are wonderful. This is my go-to spot for a cheap, authentic, and tasty meal in the city center. Go here!!!
google avatar

Allie B.

Yelp
Had the traditional danish hot dog, HIGHLY recommend. Must stop here! It was delicious!

Yelp
Amazing options! Every link has the perfect crunch to it. So satisfying and makes me wish I lived in Copenhagen just to eat here everyday.

Yelp
Best hot dogs/sausages of life! Definitely a must stop in Copenhagen!!! Can't bet their pickles or buns. We loved it!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not one for hot dogs but these were the bees knees (and I don't use that term - EVER). The award winning organic hot dog stand - The sausages are made of organic meat. The bread is whole grain, from slowly raised dough and topped with linseeds. Everything is organic from the remoulade sauce to the fried onions. They even had a vegan tofu dog for me! If you're in the area and feeling slightly peckish or .. I don't know .. You want to try the most luxurious hot dog of your life then this is the place!
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Bread was not fresh and the sausage was just ok. In my book this place barely gets 3 stars.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
Fast and easy hotdog cart! It was very simple and standard! No seating around, but it's a good grab and go place!
google avatar

Jing Shyang Y.

Yelp
Excellent organic hot dogs for a reasonable price in central Copenhagen. The sausage is excellent as are the toppings and accompanying ingredients. I ordered the Pork with wild garlic along with parsnip and potato mash, beetroot, fried shallots, onions, grain mustard and ketchup. It was delicious and filling, however if I was really hungry I'm sure I could devour a second. The best thing is that unlike many hot dog places on the streets, they accept credit cards! Especially important if like me you decided to visit and not exchange any cash.
google avatar

Foodie E.

Yelp
VEGETARIANS, they have a vegetarian hot dog. I was pretty satisfied with the vegetarian hot dog. The bun was good and the sauce and other toppings complemented the tofu hot dog well. I would recommend this for a vegetarian looking for a quick bite on the go.
google avatar

Christa P.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. This street dog was the perfect afternoon snack. Filling, plump, full of toppings and organic. Who can beat that? The line was mildly long as we waited to order. You can choose your set up - bun, bread, breadless, toppings or lack there of and what type of meat. Our group had a mix of offerings, some choosing goat (great reviews), one getting a garlic pork (medium review) and vegetarians (who gushed over their delicousness). I choose a spicy beef hotdog, roasted with all the toppings. Toppings included pickled cucumbers (aka yummy pickles), crispy onions, mustard, ketchup, and remoulade. It was the perfect combo of salty, sweet and crunchy. The hotdog wasn't really spicy but was nice grilled so the outside skin had a bite of bite and broke with the delicious hotdog juices. Tip: Go. Get the classic roasted with all the toppings. Have your freedom with the type of meat though. They take cards and cash; also they sell sodas and misc drinks.
google avatar

Apurva D.

Yelp
Daaamn. I'm obviously thoroughly impressed with this place. They have traditional as well as quirky Scandinavian sausages. Being a vegetarian, I also had options to pick from!! I chose the sausage with beetroot and a turnip mash that turned out to be quite a spectacular snack. As everything else is, this place is a bit costly but worth it. Do not miss it!
google avatar

Angela K.

Yelp
Tasty and fresh hot dogs. Great toppings as well. Definitely one of my favorite food stops in CPH!
google avatar

Francesca G.

Yelp
DOP has a veggie dog, which is really exciting as I feel like most places don't. I just took the standard dog with pickles, fried onions, and raw onions. It was good, but nothing amazing. I also tried some of the creamed kale which is really good (don't let the way it looks turn you off, it actually tastes awesome!)
google avatar

August S.

Yelp
Fantastic organic hot dog stand with a couple of great options including the classic hot dog and a hot dog with mashed roots. The toppings are also great, including good quality mustard and pickled beets.
google avatar

Kasper N.

Yelp
Top of the class hotdogs! Seriously, the best sausages + bread meal I have ever had. Everything is organic, and also healthier than the most other hotdog vans. With the real deal, incl. an organic whole-wheat bread; you can actually become satiated after just one hotdog - the good way. DØP does also serve other stuff, including organic lemonade, and chocolate milk.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
AN organic hotdog place in a shack by the base of the Round Tower/church? Very intuitive right? we were looking for it and we still walked right past it. We had lunch at the much beloved Restaurant Schønnemann, but we had left room for munching through out the day. DØP was one of the places that a friend had recommended. Roasted hotdog with the works on a slow raised sourdough. I like that they're hot huge and if you were making a meal you might want to get two out of the three choices. Who says fast food can't be good and good for you right?
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Danes take their hotdogs seriously, as witnessed by hotdog wagons liberally sprinkled all over Copenhagen. DØP, or Den Økologiske Pølsemand (the organic hotdog man), stands out because everything served here is, well, organic including soft drink, AND tastes good. You have choice of beef or pork or chicken dog, whole grain bun or mashed turnip for non-bread eaters. In typical Danish style, the dogs are about twice as long as the bun, toppings include 1:1:1 ratio of squirts of mustard, ketchup, and remoulade, mountains of crispy fried onions. It's almost impossible to eat without making a mess, but it's all part of the experience. If you are in the vicinity of Round Tower and in the mood for a snack, make it a DØP stop.
google avatar

Yelp
Being spoiled by the street meat stands in Toronto, I wasn't as impressed with this famous hot dog stands as I otherwise should be. This place is featured on a ton of "must eat" in Copenhagen websites and books. For 45 dkk (6EUR!) it's one expensive and small hot dog. The dressings are good - mainly the fried onions is the icing on the cake. The pickles on the top were a fun touch, too bad they all fall off easily, as shown by the abundance of pickles around the Round Tower. It's a good hot dog, but i can make that hot dog easily at home for much much MUCH cheaper - well maybe not organic, which I guess is what you are paying for.
