So excited to welcome another new offshoot from the Nemesis folks, this time a new standalone Dope Bakehouse with exclusive offerings like focaccia and handhelds, savouries and strawberry matcha. I think Dope Bakehouse really nails bringing the vibes to all their locations, especially this one where you feel welcomed like one of the homies, instead of a stranger that happened to visit. The place is situated on the corner of a new apartment complex and its square footage is a lot smaller than the other locations, but it makes it a lot cozier and intimate with a minimalist touch. In a way, it feels like Dope Bakehouse/Nemesis Lite in a simplified way, bringing it back to its pastry roots and also redeveloping the menu in a new direction with things like mortadella sandos and spanakopita. All of the hype, none of the complicated fluff.
I went late in the day around 3pm during the 3rd day of their opening weekend, so unfortunately, there were not many offerings left. Thankfully, there was still their fantastic focaccia available, made with tomato sauce, pineapple, crunchy cappicola, jalapeno slices and hot honey. I loved how it was pillowy and easy to slice through with their very FANCY cutlery. However, I do wish that this was served warmed up to make it a perfect experience.
Can't wait to be back to try more of the new offerings and the sweets!
