Dope Bakehouse

First things first, this place is gorgeous. I love the aesthetic, the branding - everything. We tried an iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and the banana bread latte. Both were really creamy, not too sweet, had great flavours and overall delicious. The pastries were really good too, we had the Cardamom Bun and the Suisse. I’m sure they make them fresh but I do agree with some other reviews that if you go later in the day, they do tend to be cold and hard. The service was also phenomenal, everyone is super friendly and accommodating. I would 100% recommend and will be returning myself to try more things.

This pastry shop is amazing with such a warm and beautiful ambiance. We’ve had a lot of good coffees in Vancouver, but this one truly stood out! The coffee was top notch and the pastries were incredible. The matcha with strawberry was also so good! They had unique flavors like cardamom, pistachio, and other aromatic spices that made everything taste special. The pastry fillings were to die for and had surprises in the middle of the pastries!(Spoiler alert!) The design, quality, and overall vibe of the place will definitely bring me back again. Kudos to the team running the place!

My hubby had the DB Horchata Choco Iced and I had a hot Cardamom Latte. Both were amazing. I subbed mine for almond milk and the Horchata is rice milk which was perfect so I could have it too. We also ordered a croissant and we literally ordered the last of the baked goods, everything else was gone (it was Sunday afternoon around 3:30pm) so go early if you want to make sure you can get your hands on a pastry. Seating is limited, we managed to grab the last 2 available seats though.

I stopped by this bakehouse and was really impressed. The place has a modern, customer-centered design that feels both cool and welcoming. The staff are genuinely lovely — it’s clear they care about kindness and making the whole experience special, even for a quick take-out order like mine. They’re not just serving great sweets and coffee (which they have a good range of), but also building a sense of community, which I really noticed and appreciated. The space itself is slick and thoughtfully designed, adding to the overall vibe. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good treats, great coffee, and a place that feels like more than just a bakehouse.

The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and the service was excellent. The petal-shaped dessert (I forgot the name) was delicious—so rich in flavor and truly enjoyable! The espresso is also worth trying.

Late review...we were there in the fall, when it just opened for a couple of weeks. There cafe was super nice, with very nice decor and a big window to watch their bakers make croissants. It was very interesting to watch. Although the building was quite large, seating was at a premium. Only a handful of seats with a few tables, but super cozy and comfy feeling. Service was okay. Although when the lady asked if I was going to eat in, and I said yes, she asked where I was going to sit (in a condescending voice). Lady, I traveled a little ways to try your cafe out, I'm not going to go eat in my car because there was not place for me to sit. She proceeded to ask 2 ladies to move over, when they hogged up two seats right in the middle of the bench counter. Food was pretty awesome! We had the strawberry matcha, small but very tasty. Also had the latte, that was good as well. The croissants were suuuuper flakey. Yuuuum! I want to go back and try other stuff, but I might just try going in a weekday to avoid the crowd.

Super cool place!!!! The pastry is unreal. Every time we take something else and it’s super delicious. Parking can be tricky with this location. However, it is worth it. I love the fact that nobody can open a laptop and work there. It’s a 100% fun time atmosphere. They make sure everyone likes their coffee. Definitely our new place to go!

Most amazing experience we’ve had at a Vancouver area bake shop in a long time. The staff are amazing, the food is amazing and the coffee too. We were welcomed with an exciting description of the baked goods, sat down in a comfortable and charming setting and enjoyed delicious treats. Will definitely come back try the new menu that starts tomorrow.

Street parking available but gets very busy in the afternoon. We had to park behind the building and walk around. Line moves quickly and it is super fast if you only order pastries and no coffee. Pear and Chai cruffin - 7/10. Not my favorite flavor combination, didn't really like but the cruffin itself was tasty. Banana danish - 10/10 very tasty and well balanced flavors. Coffee was fine. Self-serve water available. Some dine-in seating but was 100% full Saturday 1PM.

Two stars are given to their pastries but definitely not for their service. It was a busy Saturday morning around 10am. Long line up and waited for a short period of time. While we were in the middle of ordering, the server realized that some of the pastry name tags were missing. Instead of informing us, he quietly searched through a drawer to find them, which felt confusing and unprofessional from a customer service perspective. When ordering coffee (one for here and one to go), we were asked whether we had a seat in a way that felt unnecessary rather than helpful. We ordered four pastries and one sandwich, but the server did not ask whether we wanted the sandwich reheated or prepared in any particular way. One of the pastries was also forgotten, and when it was eventually given to us, there was no apology. The packaging was another issue. Our items were packed into multiple small boxes and separate take-out bags (two boxes and two bags in total), which was inconvenient to carry. When we asked if everything could be placed into one larger box instead, we were told that we should have requested a large box when ordering and that changing it at that point would be a waste. Eventually, a paper bag was given to us without any apology. Overall, the service felt inattentive and unaccommodating. While the pastries and bakery items were delicious, the lack of communication and basic service etiquette significantly affected the overall experience. Unfortunately, the quality of the food could not make up for the their service provided.

The plain croissant was quite good. I am normally not a plain croissant person, but theirs was nice and flaky in the outside, soft on the inside. It had nice layers. The chocolate croissant didn't have enough filling. The coffee pastry had a nice crunchy topping. The cardamom bun was a bit too strong for my preference, but the roll itself was very soft and good. I'd rate this 3.5 stars. The quality of the pastries was good, but the flavors and the amount of filling could be better.

So excited to welcome another new offshoot from the Nemesis folks, this time a new standalone Dope Bakehouse with exclusive offerings like focaccia and handhelds, savouries and strawberry matcha. I think Dope Bakehouse really nails bringing the vibes to all their locations, especially this one where you feel welcomed like one of the homies, instead of a stranger that happened to visit. The place is situated on the corner of a new apartment complex and its square footage is a lot smaller than the other locations, but it makes it a lot cozier and intimate with a minimalist touch. In a way, it feels like Dope Bakehouse/Nemesis Lite in a simplified way, bringing it back to its pastry roots and also redeveloping the menu in a new direction with things like mortadella sandos and spanakopita. All of the hype, none of the complicated fluff. I went late in the day around 3pm during the 3rd day of their opening weekend, so unfortunately, there were not many offerings left. Thankfully, there was still their fantastic focaccia available, made with tomato sauce, pineapple, crunchy cappicola, jalapeno slices and hot honey. I loved how it was pillowy and easy to slice through with their very FANCY cutlery. However, I do wish that this was served warmed up to make it a perfect experience. Can't wait to be back to try more of the new offerings and the sweets!

Layers of buttery flakiness pastries ! We enjoyed everything in the blue Dope box! Too bad they didn't have the cardamon bun that day ! Will have to come back next time we can vacation in Vancouver !

I love the branding that these people accomplished. Everything from the name to the in store aesthetics really vibe with me. I love the way they name their espresso drinks. I love the commitment to good matcha. And most importantly, the pastries are really - really good. Glad I made the adventure over from the city when I went to visit.

The worst service for a stale cookie I have ever experienced I waited in line order a cookie and matcha after going about if I wanted coffee or not so when asked if I wanted espresso I said no thinking she was confused about my drink. After paying and tipping I realized the cookie was not charged. I went back up-but to order the cookie and was made to wait in line ( I was annoyed yet understood it is a trendy hipster place who puts product over service) but did so because it looked good in case. Unfortunately it was a disappointment of a cookie ( slightly dry and hard like it had been in the case too long) and the matcha was standard nothing amazing. It is one thing to not have good service but if it can't be backed with a good product what's the point?
