Dorint Hotel am Dom Erfurt

This review is difficult for me to write. On the one hand, I’m genuinely convinced by the hotel. I like the atmosphere, I find the breakfast delicious, and the selection of food and drinks at the bar is absolutely fine. The hotel’s location right next to Erfurt Cathedral is excellent. So overall, I would rate the hotel as good — but that’s exactly why I’m so disappointed with how we were treated when we inquired about an early check-in.|But let me start from the beginning. We asked in advance whether it would be possible to check in around midday. We were told that this couldn't be guaranteed, but that we were welcome to ask on the day of arrival and that there was often a good chance it could work out.|On the day we arrived, we called ahead and were told the hotel was fully booked and an early check-in wasn’t possible. When we politely asked again if there was really no possibility — as we were traveling with a small child — the receptionist responded by saying that in that case, we simply shouldn’t book a hotel that only offers check-in from 4 PM.|Don’t get me wrong — it’s not about the fact that an early check-in wasn’t possible (although I do find 4 PM quite late), it’s the way we were dismissed with a comment like that. I found it really inappropriate.|If someone asks politely, such a response is unacceptable. Now that we know — according to the hotel itself — that we shouldn’t book it if we want to check in earlier, we won’t be staying there again in the future, despite the positives I mentioned above. There are other nice, centrally located hotels in Erfurt too.|

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. For €200, I would expect significantly better. I would put this hotel at 2 stars. The rooms are extremely outdated, the beds are firm and are uncomfortable. I reserved a single bed room and was giving a double bed, which the beds were too small for me to fit comfortably on on without hanging off the edge of it. I went and asked for a single bed, and the manager informed me there were no single bed rooms in the hotel to begin with, although both of my colleagues had single bed rooms. Which according to the manager did not exist. The window does not open enough to do anything, and the cooling for the room blew hot. They charged me for parking with the hotel although I expressed multiple times I was in the public parking area, and provided my ticket for the public parking. But they still charged me. And then they charged me with breakfast, although that was not included in my stay. I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel, it is way overpriced for the services provided.

There is no possibility to put fresh air into your room because window is located inside hotel Air condition do not work You can hear gest in next room - terrible Pillow - completely unconfutable

Rooms are a bit outdated but very clean and comfy. Breakfast is very reasonable with good variety of foods. People working at hotel are awesome and always happy to help - I can surely say that they are the best part of the hotel!

Front desk receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Check in went smoothly. |Car parking is possible underneath the hotel, however parking spots are narrow. Do think €20 for one night parking is quite expensive. |The room was simple and little bit outdated, however it’s was clean and the bed was fine. |Breakfast is very good with large variety of meat, cheese, bread, etc.

Located right next to cathedral and old fortress it makes an excellent starting point for exploring Erfurt. Rooms were well equipped and clean, both fridge and safe are included. Beds were nice to sleep in, bathroom is quite large, tho shower would be better than bathtub. WiFi was one of the better ones I saw in hotels.

This is rather older 4⭐️ hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds are soft and comfortable. What is missing is coffee machine and mini bar is empty (is meant to be for personal purposes) however in the lobby there is refreshment and drinks available everyday. The hotel staff is nice and kind. The breakfast is rich and very delicious 🥐🧀🥝🍳 A strip bar is part of the hotel complex what one can find convenient.
