Dormy Club Karuizawa

For us, the star of Dormy Club is the staff, who really did their best to look out for and to take care of our needs. We are a couple who stayed for 3 nights and checked out on 13 Sep. The acts of care shown by the staff is outstanding, from alerting us that the lights in our car is on, to coming out in the rain to help with our bags both during arrival and departure. And it is a first for hotel staff to offer to take commemorative photos for us before we leave. When we left on the last day, my husband asked a casual question about the weather in Tokyo, and the young front desk staff immediately researched, and ran out to the carpark before we drove off to give us the details. Staff can speak functional English so it's a breeze communicating with them. Hotel is modern, exuding quiet luxury. Toilet auto flushes when one is done! And this is the first hotel we stayed which provides kid shampoo and soap in both the hotspring wash area and room bath. For those who doesn't go for onsen, you will enjoy the large spacious bathroom with great water pressure and a view. The only area I didn't quite enjoy is the hotspring, which is not hot enough for me, and I thought the chlorine smell is a bit strong. But the bathroom with outdoor view more than made up for it. We drove so the location of Dormy Club flanked by the forest works for us.

Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. A lot of privacy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They come out to receive guests and help with luggage. On check out day, they offer to take a nice photo for the guests and wave goodbye till your car is out of sight. Very good service. Hotbath is small but still ok.

Great hotel, and fantastic hospitality! Very clean Highly recommend. Would specifically appreciate the efforts of the person at the reception. We were only 2 minutes early to the shuttle bus departure but it had left by then, unfortunately. He graciously offered to drop us by car to the train station. Also took a farewell picture for us. Thank him for that! Other staff also very welcoming. Would stay again!

Exceptional services that warm your heart! Although the room, onsen, and building may be small and dated, they offer a cozy atmosphere where you can experience authentic Japanese hospitality.

This hotel is great , it provides good service and the staff is very friendly, my cousins, siblings and I played with the staff. The room is small but comfortable and the onsen was nice cozy. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Japan.

We went here last year for the first time, the staffs performance was awesome, very impressive, then we decide to come here again this year. Same atmosphere, same friendliness, everything is super. They have a lot of special services that does not mentioned on the internet, like the surprise for guests. If we make a stay in Tokyo or Osaka's 5 star hotel, we would just say thank you, but consider their charge, we would like to say it is much appreciated. Hope we could stay at least once a year in the next decade , lovely : )))

Thank you very much to the staff at Dormy club for making our stay exceptional. Its not easy as foreigners with an infant travelling around Japan, but the staff went out of their way to make out trip as good as possible! The restaurant food was delicious and onsen baths such a treat! Thank you

We felt welcomed the minute we stepped in. Staff were really friendly and lobby deco was cozy. There was a special present for the kid making here really happy. Ladies can take their pick of sample pack skin care products. We found a little logcake in the fridge when we went to the room and free popsicles outside the hotspring. Really appreciate the heat packs that the staff pass to us everytime we went out too... This hotel went out of the way to make th guest happy and comfortable.
