There were some great things about D'Oro to love: the energy, the vibe, the central location near Plaza de Mayo, the portions sizes, and the excellent service. But in the end, unfortunately, the food quality was simply not among those things I loved.
I started with the meatballs appetizer, and while the dish was well presented, the meat was too tough and the sauce didn't have much flavor. The dish also needed some fresh parmesan, which wasn't offered but was brought upon request. I wouldn't order this again.
I opted for the chicken scaloppini, with lemon sauce and capers. This wasn't terrible, but it was average. The chicken was a little rubbery but the flavor met my expectations. The side arugula salad needed more dressing.
Like I said earlier, the service and vibe of the place were awesome. But with all the options for Italian food in Buenos Aires, I was a bit disappointed.
