Dorothy Browns Cinema is an absolute delight. This quaint little theater, nestled in the heart of Arrowtown, offers a truly unique cinematic experience. With just two screens, it exudes a cozy, intimate atmosphere perfect for a relaxing movie outing. The small bar and inviting reading nook add to the charm. Beyond the cozy ambiance, the staff at Dorothy Browns deserve special mention. Their passion for film and the local area is evident in their engaging conversations. They provided invaluable insights into what to see and do in Arrowtown, making the visit even more enjoyable.

Iconic little place! Didn’t have time to stay for a movie sadly but the cinema rooms are adorable, gorgeous balcony Gin Bar and quite an amazing selection of books + nibbles.

So lovely here. Packed with anything you’d want for relaxing holiday. Variety selections of books. Well curated movie list. Also snacks and good drinks! The staff also really welcoming.

Wonderful way to enjoy a movie in a boutique cinema. More like being in a nice lounge with some friends you don’t know yet! This place provides an experience that is the way movies should be watched. In the main Theater you always have intermission and plenty of drinks and nibbles to enjoy! You should try and see at least one movie in the den which is the smaller more intimate lounge style environment.

A well stocked bookshop, pleasant Gin Bar, and comfortably delightful cinema. Great service from friendly staff.

Lovely little cinema. Good sound, and the intermission is appreciated as you can nip into the loo, or buy a drink.... or both!

Absolutely lovely. Cosy couches, cushions, and blankets. Drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) and popcorn available at the bar. They also sell books and snacks made locally. There’s a fireplace too. Very lush and intimate feel. I caught a Wednesday evening movie, ticket was $20. Highly recommend 😊

This a great little cinema. Gorgeous to say the least. Old World charm. Comfortable and cosy. The foyer is fabulous inside seating, bar with food and wines and coffees and the usual cinema fare. There is also a deck. Browse the books whilst you wait. This was my first visit despite several visits to Arrowtown. Loved it. I went mid afternoon. Had the theatre to myself. It is not a city cinema. It is an intimate cinema. Various seating types. Warm and rich decor. Rugs/blankets for those cold days. This is a place not to be missed. Good range of movies. Well done. This is a superb movie goers experience.
