This was my first experience with Nicaraguan food. I enjoyed the ambiance. The Spanish music in the background was nice. Some menu items were unfamiliar to me. I decided to order the beef tripe soup. My thought was that it would be similar to Mexican menudo. Except for the tripe, it isn't even close. They brought out this extra large bowl of piping hot soup filled with beef broth and loaded with large pieces of tripe, vegetables, and fruit. I have never had soup that you need a fork, knife, and spoon to eat. There were large pieces of tripe, zucchini, carrots, corn on the cob, cabbage, onion, potato, pear halves, and plantain chunks. The soup is not spicy at all and has a nice savory beef flavor. The tripe was tough and rubbery, but tripe by it's nature is. The rest of the ingredients were tender. I ended up taking half of it home. This is really a good soup for two meals.
