Before anything I just want to clarify that the food from Dos Dos has always seemed good to me. My wife and I were big fans of Dos Dos and we frequently dined in. However, this time I placed a to-go order and that’s where I made my first mistake. I ordered our usually order which is four orders of quesabirria, that come with a side of consommé. I drive downtown to pick it up and when I get home, I realize that instead of the consommé they put oil in the cups, in addition they forgot to put in the spicy sauce that I paid extra for. I called and expressed my concerns and asked if they could change the oil for the consommé and they said it was fine. I drive back, taking the four sides of oil so they can see, mind you, this is a 15 min drive into downtown on a Saturday night. I drive back, waist my time looking for parking and when I arrive instead of the four cups of consommé there was only one. I clarified to them again that it was four orders and so I had to wait there for the other three. I drive back home and when I get home to eat the quesabirrias which are already cold, I realize that in one of the containers they put oil AGAIN.
I call back, I express my complaint, and they tell me that I am wrong because the guy who answered the phone was sure that what they had served me was the consommé. I tell him that I frequent Dos Dos and get the same order every time. I tell him that I know the difference between the oil and consommé because, side note: one time when my wife and I dined in they made the same mistake but the waiter, at the time, realized it when we told him and he told us that it was the chefs mistake for serving us oil instead of consommé. Anyways, so this time I tell the guy that I know the difference between the consommé and oil. You can visually SEE it, you can TASTE the difference, and you can FEEL the difference. I explain to him all this and the response I get is an “OK….” And him telling me that that is their recipe of consommé and there’s nothing he can do about it, which I know to be false because again, we frequently dine in and get the same order.
In the end, I ask for a refund, which the comply with.
I will attach pictures where you can CLEARLY see the difference. Sadly, I am very disappointed in the customer service and food I received today. My wife and I loved getting their quesabirrias but after this incident, I’m not sure we’ll be going back
