Double Dorjee Restaurant

This is my favorite restaurant in Nepal. It hasn't changed in decades, so I am told. The grandmother makes the best momos and apple pie with a big smile on her face. It will take 45 minutes to cook, but it is worth it.

Cosy, typical and a smiling grandma ! The cheese macaroni is very good (delicious cheese sauce !!), we were served within 30 min. Prices are a little bit more expensive than cheap restaurant (like more than 50 roupies, so still in the cheap prices). And there is WIFI ! :) (bad toilets)

One of the best Momo restaurant in Nepal. We had to wait one hour after order but it's worth.

Nice, homely environment and delicious food! The old couple that run the place are lovely and adorable. Would highly recommend if you're looking for traditional nepali food around the stupa.

Unfortunately, we had bad experience about this place. Here is few thing we might concern. When we (2 persons) arrived, there were 4 persons in the restaurant already, and they had just ordered food before we arrived. They had to wait 30 minites for their food. And we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. It was super slow service. We hoped the food was nice, but in reallity, it was not, the food was not tasty at all. Last thing to concern : the restroom was super dirty and smelly!!! One thing that we like a little bit that the host of the restsurant was very nice, but it was not help the restaurant for the overall service. We will not comeback because food was not tasty.

Delicious momos and coffee. The granma, Amala, is the heart and soul of the place. She informed us she has to close soon (in August) because the rent is too high. So she might open up somewhere close by. She is worried to loose touch with her clients and new-comers, so if you arrive to a closed Double Dorjee, ask the neighbouring shops where you can find her.

super friendly grandmother. accommodated us late into the night. i recommend the hot chocolate, banana lassi and apple pie. amazing food at super cheap prices.

Best food in Nepal. Very homey. Worth the long wait the food is completely amazing.
