So, the treatments here were really good with ESPA and Jessica products, but the day and hotel area itself odd.
My friend and I got here at 10, as our wahanda voucher said (2 for 99), I had pre-called and booked our treatments for 11 and asked for an extra at 2.30pm. When we got there, we were checked in and upon asking got our robes and slippers. The layout is a bit bizarre, the spa is on the left, pool on the right, then upstairs is the restaurant.
The ladies changing room are undergoing renovation, so we were in the mens changing rooms. It did mean that the men were having to go from the pool area through the lobby to get changed, and soaking everywhere.
We decided to just go upstairs and wait for our treatments at 11. We ordered coffees which were nice, but pricey at 3.25 each for an americano.
We headed downstairs at 10.45, to be asked who we were and asked to fill out forms. Seemed quite odd that we hadnt been asked to do this before. In the space of the next 15 minutes, we had 3 different people ask what treatments we were having, even though these were booked before....
We were then taken into a relax area, before our therapists called us. The treatments of pedicures were lovely, although I found it odd not soaking your feet. After we were told to sit in the relax area to let our nail polish dry, but the relax area, which was 6 chairs was full. So we waited outside in the lobby...
The spa itself was very busy, with various group-on and wahanda vouchers. We then asked what to-do for lunch and were told to go upstairs. So we did, to find they had booked a table for 4 for us, I guess booking 2 treatments each makes it 4 people? The offerign was a bento box, which wasn't suitable due to my friend having various fruit allergies. After a 20 minute wait we were told we could have the afternoon tea. It was nice enough, tuna sandwhiches, blt sandwiches, scones and some fine pieces. We did have to pay for our drinks, which was again odd.
After lunch, we went into the pool for a bit, which was nice. We then returned to the spa for our second treatment, of exfoliation, again being asked what we were having. It seemed like nobody wrote anything down. The exfoliation was incredible and I would definitely recommend it.
After the treatment we went back to the pool area and went into the sauna. Really nice, but loud due to the construction of the changing rooms. The changing room was very steamy, there didn't seem to be any ac for the showers. Resulting in a lot of condensation. A lady got locked in the toilet, due to the steam and a metal lock and someone else couldnt get the lock to turn on their lockers. We then found a staff member opening all the lockers, as a lady couldnt remember which locker she used. Not a huge issue, but just weird seeing a staff member opening your locked locker.
Upon paying, we had to remind them we had paid through wahanda and were offered a further 10% off second treatments. The staff didn't know this but still honored it. In the course of the day I would say 30 people were using all the deals, which meant it was a bit one in and one out, to treatment, to pool, to food etc etc.
