Yelp
Finishing up my stay here. Pretty good, all things considered (did not pay attention and lollapalooza was over the weekend).
Background info, I'm a Chicago native, so your experience may differ.
Location: 5/5
- 15 min walk to navy pier (brisk walk)
- 20ish min walk to millennium park (very brisk walk)
- Whole Foods is less than a 5 min walk (good breakfast/lunch/dinner from hot bar. More cost effective than the restaurants around here...then you can enjoy your room)
Hotel check in: 5/5
Staff were chill, efficient.
Room: 4/5
The room is fine, it was "worn in", but the bed was comfortable, room was as clean as it could be (without scrubbing it from top to bottom). Bonus point for the view, another bonus point for the coffee maker (the location is functional. Still hotel coffee, so don't expect fancy).
Pool: (insert side eye)
Ok, I'm sure it is fine. I did go down to be nosey. My eyes started to burn from the chlorine in the air, so I decided against taking a dip. The area was not clean; cups, tissues and various stuff thrown all about. I don't blame the hotel, I blame the ill mannered guests.
The views were nice-ish.
TL;DR: the hotel is fine. The lounge downstairs is fine. The location is fire. I would return for future stays. Parking is $62/day, which is normal-ish.
Ooookay. Pro-tips:
Parking: head directly to level C. More parking closer to elevator.
Reservation: get Hilton rewards app, make an account, do the digital check-in. You get cookies when you check in with the front desk.
Food: remember, there is always Whole Foods. I mean, check out whatever you want, but Whole Foods is fire and cheaper.
Elevator: you need your room key to make it move. Take it out of the sleeve.
Travel: Get the Lyft bike if you go to navy pier. Ride it to millennium park. Unless you want the exercise. Lyft bikes are towards the navy pier entrance.
Other then that, enjoy the stay. For reference, I did get an old fashion from the bar downstairs. Nice pour, $16. Food looked good. But, ya know, Whole Foods.
Waaait wait. Another pro tip: Dollop Coffee shop is a 2 min walk from the front door. Go there to get your caffeine fix in the morning.
