⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Fantastic Location & Great Service! We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Downtown Los Angeles, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location simply can’t be beat — it’s the perfect “command central” if you’re planning to explore the whole city. From here, you can easily reach all the top attractions, restaurants, and tours. The staff were outstanding. Andrea at check-in was amazing — friendly, professional, and made us feel right at home. The bellhops were also great, offering helpful tips on hop-on hop-off tours and other sightseeing options. The room was clean and comfortable. The only small issue was that the shower door wouldn’t stay closed, so we had to improvise a bit — otherwise, this would have been a solid five-star experience. Overall, we had an incredible stay and will definitely be back next time we’re in Los Angeles!

I went to Los angeles to enjoy time with my family because my son is a big dodgers fan. The moment we pulled over we received a very warm welcomed by a valet guy called Bryan. The guy was running up and down because the hotel was busy but yet he was able to manage to give us an excellent customer service. He mentioned pricing, where to park and benefits of paying for valet meaning that he gave a full information to us. We decided to valet because of his very good customer service and at the end he mentioned (We appreciate your business with us and welcome to the hotel) That is a very nice way to treat customers that are spending money. Very excellent customer service and we love Bryan ❤️

Honest Review — DoubleTree by Hilton The hotel staff are absolutely wonderful — truly the only good thing about this place! I honestly feel bad for them having to deal with what they do on a daily basis. Before you book, please be aware of the location. This area is unsafe, especially for women traveling alone. Skid Row is literally around the corner, and the hotel is surrounded by homeless individuals, drug users, and squatters who often harass guests and staff. I would not recommend walking outside by yourself. Our air conditioner broke and, although maintenance “fixed” it, it made loud knocking noises for two days. We couldn’t open the curtains because the room would instantly heat up again. The glass shower door wouldn’t stay closed, so water poured all over the floor. The wallpaper was peeling off, and there was a large crack in the ceiling caused by excess moisture and no ventilation. Housekeeping never came to clean our room, even though we were gone for over 6 hours. Parking is also a mess — if you arrive late, you may not find a spot at all. I reported all of these issues to the front desk, and they “comped” my parking as a gesture. Honestly, that was a bit insulting given how many issues we experienced. And to top it all off — no fresh cookies or water at check-in! Do better, DoubleTree.

This review is 15 years late. I was a teenage girl when I stayed at this hotel with my mum and sister all Irish. This place was absolutely gorgeous, stunning, great pricing for your experience there and close by to the airport, walking distance to downtown LA and potentially Hollywood. I have never been to America since this trip as a teen or prior to this trip so it is my precious experience of the states. It was amazing. Apologies to the New otani as I am so late with my review! My memory of this place is so positive and I remember I ate pizza every night in that hotel that I think the chef was like "do you only eat pizza?" Haha but it was delicious! Thank you soooo much ❤️🙏🥰🇮🇪🇯🇵🇺🇸 With love Natalie

Google
I used the restroom in my room ONCE and it literally clogged on me. The location is downtown and it’s not too bad. I will say arriving here I went through some emotional turbulence. I’m in town for Camp Flognaw and I came across the country just to be here for this event. When I was checking in the receptionist asked if I was here for the event and I said yes. She informed me that it was canceled an hour ago which was a bummer but I came all the way from Wisconsin so I said thank you for letting me know. I proceeded to try and check in and she told me the deposit was 75. Which was okay but she then told me the total was 1007 for the deposit which was what put me over the edge. I was extremely upset because we paid a little over 800 to stay through Friday-Monday and we had to call and switch the room over to my name because my brother couldn’t make it, nowhere on the website or during the call did they say there was a deposit which is misleading but on top of that 1007 for a deposit for three night seemed so crazy! Well I started crying and she gave me two cookies and two water bottles and apologized. I called my brother crying and told him it was 1007 for the deposit. Nowhere when talking to her did she say that it was the total for the room and the deposit and I didn’t think about until my brother mentioned that if it’s 75 for three nights I should only owe 225. So when I went back up there I ended up talking to a different receptionist and told her the situation. She was able to get it figured out quickly and only charged me the 225 for the deposit. My first hour here was a terrible experience due to a misunderstanding and the doubletree getting a new system that no one knew how to use apparently. The line wrapped around the lobby when I came down twenty minutes later. Honestly I’d hate to say it but I would recommend a different hotel. After their mistake they didn’t offer any apologies or anything. This is the longest review I’ve made so I hope it helps someone avoid making the mistakes I made. Also the breakfast here is not complimentary, it’s expensive, and you can’t even bring the food to your room if you wanted to. So do what you will with this information. I see a lot of people complaining about the helicopters and sirens when they’re here and I will say there is a lot of noise but I’m a heavy sleeper so I didn’t really care.

The hotel itself was clean and nicely maintained inside. The rooms were a standard size, but the one with two queen beds felt a bit tight for three adults. The bathroom was also quite small, which made it a little inconvenient. The property was easy to access from the freeway, but unfortunately, it’s located in a rather sketchy area. Parking was another issue — the hotel lot was full, leaving us no choice but to park on the street. I felt uneasy about leaving the car there, as the surrounding area had quite a bit of old graffiti and a strong odor of urine along the sidewalks. Walking on the sidewalk surrounding the hotel felt unsafe. One major concern was security. The elevators were open for anyone to access, meaning people from off the street could easily reach the guest room floors. Given the location, I would have expected a keycard system or similar measure for guest safety. While the interior of the hotel was pleasant, the location and lack of secure parking and access make it a place I would not choose to stay at again.

Google
A great place to stay! Homeless people are around outside, but the hotel is always busy and well staffed. There are some great coffee shops near by, and it was a great location for seeing a concert at BMO Stadium. Dont hesitate to stay here! The rooms were clean and well kept and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Google
This was actually a great location in DTLA, if you like being walking distance from Little Tokyo (just minutes). Marukai Market (open until 10pm) is just around the corner (literally a hop and a skip away). And the Grand Central Market is also ~ 15 minute walk away. The hotel itself is nothing special, but it was clean enough and comfortable enough. (Note the outside window has caked on dirt & grime. But that’s outside.) Parking structure under the hotel (pay per night or valet park for a bit more). The only real complaints are the street noises (and I’m sure it’s not specific to this hotel, it’s just the area). All times of the day and night you will hear sirens, helicopters, and general noises from the streets below. Bring earplugs.

Yelp
Attending a French wine tasting event in the city, and my better judgment drove me to find an accommodation for the night so I can fully enjoy the evening without having to drive home. The Doubletree in downtown LA is perfect being only a block from the event! The room is a little worn and dated, but the staff are friendly and attentive.

Yelp
One night stay. Area felt pretty okay. Took a stroll around 1030pm in the search for food and there are a ton of lights and areas where you won't be alone. Plus it's off of a semi busy street. Average amount of people experiencing homelessness but they don't trouble you much. Big building tons of rooms. Lobby was nicely done up for the holiday season but not obnoxiously over the top. I self parked my car. Got my ticket and had it validated by the front desk staff who were lovely. They pointed out the bar and elevators and sent me on on way. As soon as I walked into my room I was startled because the mirror is directly in front of you. I was in a corner room. Bed was okay. Tv was pretty big. Lotion and body wash is included. Everyone I saw was chill. It was a semi expensive place for one night. Ran me over 200. Id come again.

Yelp
Just had one night stay while in town for business. Interesting location. Right next to Little Tokyo with all of the local shops and restaurants. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of "urban life" in the area as well. Hotel itself is just ok hence the 3 star review. Lobby area seemed updated and pretty well kept. My room was pretty dated given the vintage of the TV in the room. Biggest downside was the bathroom which was small and in need for a remodel. Parking garage had plenty of spaces but note the self parking is $47 and valet is $54. On par for downtown hotels but something to take into account as a longer stay could be $200 or more.

Yelp
I almost cancelled my reservation for the DoubleTree after reading recent Yelp reviews. I am staying here right now and can't find anything wrong. High Points 1. Parking. I love self-parking. Their self-parking is super easy. With digital key you can go in and out all day - easily! 2. Staff. Everyone here is very friendly, anxious to help. 3. Room. Huge, spacious and very well laid out. Amazing view from the 21st floor. 4. Quiet. It is dead quiet in here. 5. Location. Right behind a huge Japanese marketplace. At Marukai Market I just enjoyed a 5-star cold ramen salad HIYASHI CHUKA. So many good places to walk to. 6. Value. Got a great deal on Hilton's site $162. per night. 7. Quick elevators. 8. Very clean. 9. Awesome bed, linens. This is my new go to hotel when staying in Los Angeles. I think these folks leaving bad reviews were at a different hotel.

Yelp
I always love DoubleTree hotels as they provide good services and greet every arriving guests with a fresh baked warm cookies. Delicious! We chose this hotel as it was nearby Japan town and has an amazing vibe. Love love love their decors. Very large hotel with good amenities and beautiful artworks but our room wasn't that big. The bathroom door itself was right near the room door and tha bathroom itself was cramp. Another reason why I chose this particular hotel was because they have that beautiful Garden where we can have a nice view and hang out. It's like a secret garden with a serenity vibe... I saw someone meditated while I had a breakfast pastry and soaked in the beauty around me. Enjoyed my stay here and would like to return. Perhaps upgrade to a larger room if it's within my budget as my room was abit cramp.

Yelp
DoubleTree is conveniently located in Little Tokyo near many shops and restaurants. The location is the best aspect of staying here. The room needs to be modernized. Not very clean either.

Yelp
The Doubletree gets a star for its close proximity to Union Starion from where we started our adventure up the coast. The hotel looks and smells dated, the staff in the evening at check out was nice (wow on the $75 per day hold for incidentals). BUT we were unaware of Hilton properties being picketed. Loud blowing of airhorns, amplified shouting of slogans starting at 6:30am going on until after we checked out at 7:45am. Morning staff didn't seem very concerned with the noise (we stayed on 20th floor, and the noise was awful)

Yelp
Last time I ever come here. Had to stay as a last minute option and already have had multiple experiences here that were unfavorable. Today was the last straw when I had to hear multiple women screaming down the hallway. Worst experience was this morning at 730AM hearing a girl get slammed against the door screaming someone help me I'm being choked out by my dad and my mom won't save me. I called security and they did nothing. After I took a shower the downstairs called me asking if I was okay on my floor. Then I hear cops in the hallway pulling 4+ people out of the small corner room 1107 with more inside the room being questioned. There were multiple women locked up in this room being questioned. This was either a drug ring or trafficking and these women will never be helped. When I came back a few hours later after work this afternoon house cleaning notified us of a hallway lockdown due to the crazy lady. This was around 130-2PM. This hotel is unsafe and has 0 security. Note - the house cleaning also forces their way into the room. They notified us that they are 3rd party contractors and will be fired if they don't have something to do even if you are in the room and tell them no. Security - young kids who can't help because it's not in their job description or ability to help. Even if a woman is screaming through the doors for help that she's being choked. Justice tavern - littered with homeless these days Starbucks - shut down last year Business center - closed down no computers, printers or tv. Pool - none Garden center - homeless people all night long Parking $45 for self parking or $55 for valet. Robbery for the cost and service you receive.

Yelp
A gem of the past Pros: it's a decent hotel in the heart of Little Tokyo. There aren't a whole lot of nice options aside from the other one that's a block away that's normally around the same price or more expensive with much smaller rooms. Prices are decent considering the age of the hotel. Service is great as with most Hilton Hotels. Rooms are clean and spacious for the price. The hotel itself looks decent even with the age. The Kyoto Garden that they have is a nice touch and looks decent. They also provide warm cookies in request that taste great. Cons: You can tell that this hotel when it first opened was a top luxury hotel. Sadly it is showing it's age. Although it looks like upkeep is fine, but it's overdue for an overhaul. Hard to notice some of it due to good upkeep, but things like popcorn ceilings in all rooms, old windows with poor insulation and sound isolation (my double paned windows at home most likely do a better job and they're not the most recent and mid grade at that) still have wallpaper all over the place. It's not peeling, but it's noticeable. Batherooms overall are fine, but it goes with the age of the hotel. Price wise it's decent, but not the best. Parking is expensive.. $47 for overnight Bottom line: it's not a bad hotel. Priced where it should be most of the time I suppose. Shows it's age, but with the still limited options at the heart of Little Tokyo.. This is likely still the best option for the immediate area.

Yelp
Horrible experience. I usually stay at the Western Bonaventure, but my manager suggested I try the Doubletree. The ice maker on my floor did not work so I had to go up before comma carrying my ice chest with me, every single day. The bathtub stopper did not work as a stopper was laying on a rim of the tub when I walked into the bathroom. When I placed the stopper in the tub, the water leaked out of the tub. I received the final bill and the charges are incorrect. I called them up and the customer service is poor. I must have interrupted her afternoon nap They will have to pay me in order for me to stay.again.

Yelp
A convenient hotel near Japanese town and the city hall. There used to be a lot of homeless surrounding but it get better now. There are so many ramen and restaurants around this area, 7eleven is right across the hotel and a Japanese market that is also connect to it. The location is excellent as so many restaurants surrounding it. The hotel is okay, clean but the restroom is a little small. I don't know why you have to pay $47 for self parking, ridiculous price. If you stay in this hotel, the parking should be free! Checking in and checking out was fast. They gave you free cookies while checking depending how many party are in your group. There is a small little Japanese garden and a waterfall in the gym floor where you can enjoy reading a book or have lunch there. Overall it is a great location but ridiculous $47 for parking!

Yelp
I am deeply disappointed with the recent experience I had with your room service and the front desk staff, particularly Alyssa. Upon checking into room 1516 around 3am of August 1st, we are so exhausted and sleepy. We wanted to sleep as soon as we can.The front desk personnel at that time was so nice and accommodated us right away and told us that we will have free parking as long as we validate our parking ticket. When I woke up I observed that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Specifically, a left over salsa that looks like it's been there for couple of days and the floors were not properly vacuumed. I told myself that I will go back to sleep because I was still exhausted and let address my concerns after an hour or so but then I was repeatedly interrupted by cleaning staff despite having clearly indicated that I wanted to be left undisturbed. This constant disruption not only disturbed my rest but also gave the impression of an intrusive and disorganized service. To make matters worse, when I called to express my concerns, I was met with a dismissive attitude from Alyssa at the front desk. Her tone was not only condescending but also made me feel as though my complaints were trivial and unwarranted. Instead of addressing the issue with empathy and professionalism, she seemed more interested in brushing off my concerns rather than offering any tangible solution. Additionally, I was assured at check-in that parking would be complimentary, yet I found myself unexpectedly charged for it upon checking out. This miscommunication and lack of follow-through on your staff's part are unacceptable and have left me feeling misled and undervalued as a guest. Overall, these issues have significantly detracted from what should have been a pleasant and hassle-free stay. This level of service is unacceptable and has significantly ruined my stay, leaving me with a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction that I had hoped to avoid during my visit.I will never recommend nor going back to this place again!

Yelp
What a disappointment for Father's Day weekend. From the egregious parking fee of $47 daily to the nasty bathroom and surly front desk people, I can't believe that Hilton hasn't addressed the honest reviews that people have written. The only real person at that hotel that cared about us as guests was Jordan, the bartender. He was friendly, attentive and was a bright spot in this truly dismal hotel. The only other positive is the outside garden. It is lovely. But guests don't stay in the garden or shower or interact with front desk personnel who literally could care less.

Yelp
To be clear, this review is for an event I hosted/organized... we did not stay overnight. The event staff was fantastic to work with. Leia was my main contact (and I liked her right away because my beloved dog is also named Leia!). She was responsive, very flexible - she didn't even blink when my client came out the day before with an entire steel drum band that we didn't know was performing, she just made it work. The on-site event staff was also terrific, helping me affix a sign to the podium before the program started and taking care of any questions or guest questions that came up. This was a bigger event than I usually organize and it was absolutely seamless. I only got to try some of the food, but the skewers, steamship beef, and lobster rolls were all hits. I had several people come up to me and tell me how delicious the food was, and that doesn't always happen at these banquet-type events. I highly recommend looking at the Doubletree if you're planning an event. The only downside is their parking is a little tight (and expensive). We encouraged our guests to carpool or ride share and had no complaints. It was a GREAT party!

Yelp
The hotel was relatively nice. The lobby was large and clean, with plenty of seating by the bar. The room was average. The breakfast in the restaurant was a little pricey, but the staff brought it out quick and it was good. The drinks at the bar were really expensive, and the crab cake appetizer was only ok, but the bartenders were friendly and very attentive even when seated at a table. They had a "Kyoto Garden" on am outdoor terrace. It was a nice spot for quiet contemplation outside, but separated from the distractions of the street. I wished there were benches so I could sit with a coffee and enjoy the peace and maybe meditate a bit. But no place to sit. Maybe I don't know the cultural tradition. Or maybe they don't want noisy groups hanging out up there with booze. There also seemed to be a lot of conference rooms on the the mezzanine. The location was good and it was bad. It's right downtown. Short walk to city hall, courthouse... etc, and only a block and a half to the restaurants of Little Tokyo if you go in the opposite direction. But on the other hand, you are downtown. The neighborhood was filthy and gross. Every block stinks of urine, and human waste was not hard to find. Garbage lines the street, and the homeless are everywhere. I passed several of them screaming threats at passers by on my evening walks. It worked for me on business, but I would not stay here with family as of summer 2023.

Yelp
This DoubleTree is in a prime location in Downtown LA/Little Tokyo. The lobby area was nice and inviting, and the gardens was beautiful albeit small. Lobby staff was friendly but not as efficient as I've experienced at other places. There were two front desk associates when I checked in. I was the next person up but had to wait 30-minutes until my turn, and the check-in queue was getting longer. It would've been great if they could get a third person to assist during a peak time. My room was dingy and felt dirty. Clearly this hotel needed a deep clean or just straight up renovation. Their lighting furniture and fixtures need updating. I turned on every single light in the room and still thought the room was dark. I've never seen the windows so dirty for a hotel room! There was a film of dirt that was caked outside the panes. The grout in the bathroom floors was disgusting. The shower had harsh water stains, and the sealant was coming apart. The shower also had a funny musty smell. On the last night, there were awfully loud buzzing and whistling sounds coming from outside. Like a loud ass generator or power washer? I went to bed around 10:30am, and the noise was going on for several hours past that. I wasn't able to have continuous or restful sleep through the night because of the noise.

Yelp
On November 18th I stayed at your hotel where I was charged to come and go parking which totalled $95.70 (statement below)and I had a roach in my room ( pictures attached). Upon checking out the receptionist was rude and told me she did explain parking and that I said I would find my own parking.  I'm legally handicapped and had a toddler, there is no parking I could walk from near by. She did not take any responsibility for the miscommunication and did not address the roach in my room. She charged me full price for the room within an hour of me talking to her at check out ($242.85).  I made a complaint the day of to guest service and it took almost two weeks to address my concerns.  Britney the manager at first had me wait on hold and then fowarded me to voicemail. I called back and she refused to compensate me was incredibly rude to me.  No one should pay to stay with roaches. My grandson was afraid of the bathroom.  For some reason, no one thinks it is a problem My hotel room had a roach and this is something I should have to pay for. Additionally, no one should have to pay to come and go from the parking garage when we are staying there ($95.70).

Yelp
Reviews can be scary, but the hotel was fantastic! Staff were friendly and we stayed for 2 days. Stayed on the 15th floor, was pretty at night but we could still hear quite a bit from the street. Also had fireworks one of the nights from the distance which was cool until it was time to go to bed. Overall would stay again! Definitely don't judge this book by the reviews!

Yelp
The lobby looks great like it's a nice hotel and the reception staff was very nice and friendly. But the room was disgusting. The toilet was broken and I had to stare at this creepy ceiling stain all night...maybe stay at another downtown LA hotel chain if you want a cleaner experience. Parking garage is super difficult to find and the ticket machine was broken. So when I left I had to press the Call Attendant button and WAIT to exit. Not great when I've got meetings to make. Probably don't stay here for business.

Yelp
We spent a few days at the Doubletree for the Nisei Week Festival. It was convenient to Little Tokyo therefore that was a plus. But their rooms are overpriced for the quality. The lobby is decent but the rooms are outdated. Hallway carpet didn't look very clean. I look forward to their warm chocolate chip cookies, went back twice with no luck. Other then the convenience for what we needed to stay there for, I would not stay at Doubletree Little Tokyo. Second, we used their banquet hall for Coronation and Awards Dinner. They served steak for the first meal and the steak was rubbery. Awards Dinner was better with prime rib. Service has always been wonderful.

Yelp
I dealt with a rude staff member when I checked in at the hotel on a Sunday night. She kep placing things on the counter (such as my credit card and license) after I had placed them in her hand and that felt rude to me. I asked her to not do that, and then when she handed my my room key, she did that again, which felt mean and purposeful. That's not good service. More, in my hotel room, the bathroom sink was cracked, the toilet was weirdly shaped and the paint on the ceiling was puckered, and the area around the vents had clearly not been cleaned in months. The hotel has a great location, but I would never stay here again.

Yelp
This is a prominent hotel right in downtown, in sight of city hall and part of Little Tokyo. We arrived about 8pm on a Thursday. There was room for us to pull under the overhang and unload before handing the keys over to a valet. Check in was fast, and our Doubletree cookies were perfectly hot and delicious. The lobby is massive and the elevators are not as obvious as in many hotels, but we soon found our way around. We had a suite for our family. The hotel tower is triangle-shaped, and our room had an odd but intriguing shape at a tip. Our windows on the 19th floor offered a great view of the neighboring Japanese marketplace and southward. The bed was comfortable, and our teenage son slept well on the foldout sofa in the living room. The kitchenette includes a sink, an especially small mini fridge (the freezer portion only fit four of our thin freezer packs), and a coffee machine. I'm unaccustomed to big city noise, and the downtown Los Angeles variety is different than other places. Not only was there loud club music and voices from the street, but more helicopters than I have ever heard before. If you're from a quiet place, be sure to bring earplugs! Thankfully, I did have some, and I did sleep better after the first night as I acclimated. Across our three night stay, everything in our room worked without any issue. The shower was even pretty straightforward to operate and the water was hot quickly. The valet cost was about $50 a day during our visit, with self-parking only a smidgen cheaper. Though the cost made us cringe, the valet service worked quite well. The workers were incredibly efficient. Whenever we requested our car, whether at 2pm or 5am, the car was out in about 2 minutes. The location of this hotel is fantastic. If you love Asian foods, you'll find a broad variety within a short walk. Kinokuniya Bookstore and a Japanese market are directly connected to the hotel. Little Tokyo has tons of stores with anime, manga, plushies, and video game merch. I-10 is very close by, though if you haven't driven in LA, be aware that traffic is terrible for most of daylight (it took an hour to drive to Anaheim in the middle of the day). We felt pretty safe walking in the vicinity of the hotel; police headquarters is close by, and cops drove by all the time. There were some homeless people around but no major encampments, and everyone pretty much kept to themself. There wasn't even a lot of graffiti in the area. The biggest negative is the cost for both the room and the parking. You pay for the accessibility to downtown, but that's just what you have to do sometimes to save time and stay safe.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay if you want to be near downtown La! I stayed here for a wedding weekend. There is a lot to do in the area that is in walking distance or a short Uber ride. Little Tokyo and Grand Central Market are a few blocks away. I was able to easily walk to both. The room was very clean. Service was good! I didn't have any issues all weekend. If you use the app, it will allow you to choose a room (if you have a floor preference) and you have the option to use a digital key. My room was ready a few hours earlier than check in time and the app notified me, so that was convenient considering I arrived in LA prior to normal check in hours. The only slight annoyance I had is that one night, my door kept getting stuck so I had to get security to help me. There is a restaurant in the hotel and a bar area in the lobby. I ate outside the hotel but it was nice to have an option to stay in. Overall, I would consider staying here again if I was in the downtown area!

Yelp
Stayed at the hotel for a concert one night with my girls. As a honors member, I was able to check in virtually and avoid the front desk. However, when I got into the elevator, the virtual key did not work and so you had to get a manual key in the front which was inconvenient, especially if you got an elevator that did take the virtual key on the way up but then couldn't come down. We were on the 21st floor and the view was great and the room was big. The bathrooms however were a little outdated with older bathtub. I also couldn't get the shower to be as hot as I wanted it to be. If you paid for parking, you still had to get your ticket validated in the front each time you came back which was also a little inconvenient. However, the staff was nice and they give you cookies upon check in :)

Yelp
Where do I start? windows were filthy and carpet was ripped between beds. Bathrooms and rooms in general were super outdated. We stayed in a room that connected to another room so that we could go back-and-forth since there were 4 of us. One room had a huge TV ... the second room not so large. Changing the TVs was a pain... they need to upgrade. In one of the rooms the refrigerator did not work. Guest in that room required a refrigerator for her diabetic meds. They switched the refrigerator out twice! But this is the kicker, we did not have hot water the first morning so we all had to take cold showers. Their technician said the hot water was turned off so they fixed it and to just let it run for a while in order for it to get hot. We had things to do so we had to get ready to go. luckily the second morning we had hot water. Why in the world would the hot water be turned off? there were fireworks nearby that we're going off constantly until almost midnight both nights we stayed. And finally, don't bother looking on the website for their restaurant menu because when we went down and wanted to eat some of the things that were listed, it was completely outdated. Not the best food. We spoke to the manager at checkout about all these complaints and she said she would note it. However, we just called Hilton honors and they said they had no record. We will never stay there again.

Yelp
If you like cold showers, no internet and loud sirens throughout the night, this is the place for you! The only redeeming quality about this hotel is the location. Parking at the hotel was also a hassle. You have to get a ticket every time and get the staff to validate the ticket. God forbid they're busy with other customers, you'll be waiting to leave the hotel for some time. We complained about the internet not working and they didn't do much about it. I would not recommend any friends or family to stay at this location. The rooms were extremely outdated, the bathroom door is right up against the toilet and the shower was also looking worse for wear.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed their over the weekend for the Anime expo Convention 2023. We stayed for 2 nights. Friday, the people were very friendly helped us with our belongings and we used the valet parking. Great service! Hotel and garden was beautiful and the bar too. Friendly staff all around. The hotel is in the central of Little Tokyo downtown. Reason for 2 Stars.... Issues with this hotel: The bathroom is disrepair to the shower head and tile seem to be broken or also have rust coming from it. Elevators were always packed and of course, because of the event that was happening, when we were trying to go to our room. Heard two elevators were down, so that sucks! That same day I call for room service to bring three shower towels and no one came on Friday and Saturday morning. I called Saturday evening to see, if someone was going to come by because I called on Friday. They sounded shock that no one came by Friday to drop them off. They eventually send someone over to our room on Saturday evening. They didn't have a pool. Why is it on the website? I woke up at 3:30am on Sunday by protesters yelling loud and cars honking too. It was crazy. I couldn't fall asleep but I did a little and that didn't help and just got up and was getting ready to leave. The general manager and probably everyone in a higher position was working, because of the protesters. I could feel they were upset at the protesters. It was uncomfortable being there.

Yelp
This hotel is pretty basic. Do not expect anything fancy. Thankfully we didn't spend a lot of time so it's not like we were missing out on anything. It's nicely located next to Little Tokyo so you have lots of options for food. There are a lot of little shops if you're into collectibles and more. The downfall is that the hotel is outdated. A door that leads to the pathway to the shops doesn't always let you back into the hotel room. You need a key card to gain entry back inside and that's where it doesn't work. There are bathrooms located in one part of the lobby and you'll be lucky if they are open. Or you will have to go to another set of bathrooms and hopefully those aren't locked. If you are here on business and expect to use public computers (aka a business center) - there isn't one. There is no laundry services so if you stay a long time - you can't wash your own clothes. There was a miscommunication when it came to cleaning our room. Our room was never cleaned after the first night. When we told front desk - they said that they would have knocked or if there was a do not disturb sign on the door. Neither of those were the case so our room was never cleaned. Our telephone in our room didn't work but then again - it's not like we were going to be using it anyways. If you're a light sleeper - then you'll hear all the police and fire sirens driving by. The windows do not appear to be thick enough to block out the street sounds. I will say to end on a positive note - there was housekeeping staff that noticed a homeless person going to the elevator and stopped them from going upstairs to any of the rooms.

Yelp
My hotel stay at the Double Tree by Hilton in DTLA was an absolute nightmare. This is an old hotel and there is no soundproofing you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. All night long people come back to the hotel drunk and you can hear everything. If you're here on a business trip and need to get a full night's rest you won't get it here. At one point in the middle of the night, an angry drunk violent fight erupted on the floor I was staying on with one man trying to break down a door. I called the lobby to send security up and still, it persisted for about another hour. I felt completely unsafe staying here, and when checking out I tried to get some reassurance from the hotel that this wasn't a normal thing but all I was told was "We're not at liberty to discuss it." I do not recommend staying here, you're better off paying more and going to a hotel that feels safe.

Yelp
Amazing service, & very friendly & helpful staff, gave us cookies. Jorge was such a sweet & helpful guy helped us out with our cart with luggage & also explained things to us & made sure we were attended we are very thankful. Room was clean it was a lil outdated but had a great stay!

Yelp
For $248 a night, my room should be immaculate. The carpet was not vacuumed, no hot water, windows are so dirty; they are difficult to see out, the remote control was absolutely filthy and the room was cluttered with unnecessary big and bulky furniture that was outdated making the small room even smaller. I would look elsewhere. Fireworks began outside around 11:30 and stopped about 12:05. Traffic was loud and constant.

Yelp
Start by saying this terrible review is not all DoubleTree's responsibility. A lot of downtown LA has been given up on and this location has unfortunately fallen into the poor city management. The folks at the desk were friendly and helpful but they were unfortunately the brightest moment of our stay. We had a basic king room on the 20th floor and paid nearly 550 total for two nights stay plus 50$ to park and store the car. My research showed this building was build in 1976 and last renovated in 2012. Taking the elevator was a bit challenging as one of the elevators didn't work properly with the key access and there was no sign saying it was out of order, the other guests informed us that it wasn't working. Our room reminded me of a Vegas room back in the 90s with the smoke stains, dark wood, popcorn ceiling and dim lighting. Things that truly make you want to leave the room and go somewhere else. The windows were FILTHY and I don't do all caps often. The lampshade had some suspicious spots, pillows held no shape, and the hot and cold switched on the shower as if there was anything else needed to be wrong in this room. I'm quite certain nobody in Hilton's management would stay here voluntarily and enjoy their visit; but obviously they feel it's good enough for the public. Do not stay here unless nothing else is available.

B N.

Yelp
I'm not sure where to start so I'll just list everything.. -Hotel lobby smelled like sewage -Room smelled heavily of chemicals -One of the sink handles in the bathroom was broken -Bathroom door did not close all the way -TV remote did not work -The next day housekeeping began cleaning the adjacent room at 8am with their music blasting

Yelp
Stayed here on a business trip. I think all Hilton chains have similar hospitality standards, and as it should if it's going to carry the reputation of the brand. Here are my observations of the good and the bad -- P R O S * beautiful hotel. Once you walk in, you're met with a spacious lobby with a beautiful bar and seating area. Everything looks clean, in order, and inviting. * Hilton Honors members get a bag of bottled water and some chocolate chip (with macadamia nuts?) cookies. * hotel room was very comfortable and one could just melt into the sheets and pillows after a long day. I had a king bed so it was quite spacious. * rooms also come equipped with a safe, microwave, and mini fridge. * this building is centrally located which means there is easy access to all the DTLA hotspots via Uber or Lyft. * front desk and housekeeping staff were largely friendly and accommodating. * on site restaurant, gym, business center, and meeting rooms. * there were always at least two security guards walking the grounds. * decent selection of snacks and drinks at their on-site marketplace. * headache free check-in and check-out process. C O N S * although I didn't need valet services, I did observe how unprofessional the valet parking staff were as I waited for my Uber rides daily. They were inattentive toward arriving guests, literally glued to their phones, and exchanging inappropriate stories about what they did the night before amongst each other. Not to say it's not okay to share and bond with colleagues but there is a time and place to do it -- and it shouldn't be while several hotel guests are in the vicinity of hearing every intricate detail of their conversations. * the air ventilation in the hotel room was very poor. It was clear the vents have not been cleaned out for a long time, and displayed plenty of rust and dust -- causing a severe allergic reaction for me during my stay. I kept coughing and had watery eyes the entire time I was there. * I was on a relatively high floor (18th floor) and could still hear every ambulance and fire truck pass by the building. * Wi-Fi connectivity kept lagging or would log me off intermittently. * I have Verizon but there are a lot of dead cellular spots throughout the hotel. I was on the phone a lot (duh, I was there for work), and my cell would either drop or get cut off in those spots. * water for showering never got truly hot -- just warm enough to get through it. * digital key does not work for the elevators or lobby restrooms. It's more like a 3.5 rating for me, but I'll round up because it wasn't a horrible stay. Just want to note some of the not so cool takeaways to help my fellow Yelpers make a decision about whether or not to book this property.

Yelp
Protests, gunshots, drunks sleeping in hallways.......and then the room had soaked carpets, torn curtains, and probably hadn't seen a dust rag in weeks! After contacting Hilton, their apologies were a $40 credit! For an $800 bill!!!! And the manager was made aware of our concerns when we were there and was too busy to return an email for 6 weeks! Her response, "Please give us another try." Ummmmm, nope!!! Never again, Hilton!

Yelp
Hotel is about a 5 min walk from Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo. Valet and front desk staff were very friendly. Booked a 2 queen bedroom "with a garden view" through Expedia. Garden was non-existent from the room windows; view instead was just the rundown LA streets. Lovely. The room was smaller than what I'm used to in terms of 2 queen bedrooms that had a similar price point. Very good shower water pressure, BUT the water drainage was pretty poor (clogging issue). There's a check-out time discrepancy; the door of the room states that check-out time is 12:00 pm but the front desk staff informed me that check-out time is actually 11:00 am (and based on how it was explained it seems like the check-out rules are pretty strict here). Eh, overall the stay was just okay hence the 3 stars. Splendid first impression from how the lobby looked (elegant and spacious) and stellar customer service, but there was a considerable amount of issues mainly regarding the room.

Yelp
The interior was cute! The parking was terrible! I arrived on my check in date, but arrived later in the night. Luckily I didn't prepay for parking like I normally do, parking is about $47 regular and $54 valet. But upon arrival parking lot was full and was told to turn around and do valet, but valet was full! Where was I supposed to leave my car?? I was lucky enough that I have a friend who lives nearby and I was able to park in their parking garage.. I also was not looking to park my Tesla on the street parking even though there was really no parking around! After all that, we still had to Uber back and forth to my car, how inconvenient! And I read beforehand that late check out costs like an additional $50 or something like half of a full night stay I'm not sure but it costs extra, and I was prepared to pay for late check out and as I called, the front desk said all they can do is 11:30pm, when check is at 11pm but online they have it saying until 4pm?! So after hearing that, it was already 10am and I rushed over to grab all of our stuff from the hotel. And on top of all that, our toilet didn't flush not sure why, and we let front desk know and since we were out all day we don't even know if anyone even came to fix it. The hotel was cute but what a terrible experience! Don't plan to bring a vehicle to park here, just save yourself some time.

Yelp
Where to start with this doubly disappointing DoubleTree by Hilton in Little Tokyo. For a location smack in Los Angeles, you'd imagine the service would match the architecture, lavish, and business professional way this facility presents itself to be. To say the least, you don't have to imagine, as they do not. The first thing to bear in mind, is that even as a guest you will be gouged by $50 glorious parking fees. The second thing we encountered while on my our down from the room, was a faulty elevator. Super comforting to be in an elevator with other guests that will only take you to the garden level, literally no where else. Shortly after this I had the thought to making my way down to the Urban Tavern in house restaurant with a group of friends. The food, was subpar, with the only exceptional thing about the experience being that two of our meals were completely forgotten by the wait staff. What made this so outstanding, was the audacity to still undercook my friend's burger after waiting nearly an hour and once everyone was already done with their meals, of course adding to the substantial wait, again. The steak was amazing, although.....forgotten and incredibly late. You could not make this stuff up..... the next thing on our agenda after the longest dinner of our lives was to get some ice to have a cheers and forget about both the elevator and excruciating dinner. To our surprise, the ice machine on our floor was disassembled with no indication the ice machine wasn't working aside from the obvious deconstructed machine. So, in a cheerful spirit, we ventured to the floor below. The ice machine was also very out of service. Shocking! As a positive Pete myself, I figured, hey why don't I just use the hallway phone that explicitly has a sign stating it is connected for direct service, so we can ask what floor has a proper ice machine. As I've said before, you cannot make this up. The phone line was not even connected. Our experience was not far from a fever dream. Honestly very shocking. I've stayed at and seen some very bad motels and hotels, but never felt more ignored, unattended, and almost comedically pranked by a Doubletree. My god... got cookies at the door, that was the only redeeming factor

Yelp
For quick trip to LA being centrally located downtown within walking distance to Little Tokyo and The Broad museum, this place was perfect. We didn't have a car during our stay and everything worked out. We had requested for a garden view room and we got exactly that. The room was spacious and my only gripe was how dirty the window was looking outside. It had a thick film of dirt that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in at least a year (or more). Perhaps they don't have a budget for window cleaners. I haven't stayed at a Doubletree Hotel in years and had completely forgotten about the cookies that they give out even though I have been baking them regularly when they released the famous Walnut Chocolate Chip cookie recipe during the early days of lockdown for Covid. I love me some cookies and these little guys didn't disappoint. Though I will say that when I bake them they are better. The lobby of the hotel was pretty dated and dark looking-- I can see how this might have worked back in the 70's or 80's but it's definitely in need of some overhaul and renovation. It's quite spacious so I think that it has a lot of potential. The beds in the room were really comfortable and while the bathroom could have been bigger for the 2 of us, it was sufficient. We weren't in the room all that long since we were out exploring and attended a concert at the Banc of America Stadium which was about 15 minutes away. Heads up-- if you're going to a concert at the Banc of America stadium or need to stay near USC, this is a good spot. Location wise, it's perfect. The staff here especially Sierra (I hope I'm spelling her name right) at the front desk were all super accommodating including all of the bellboys and valet parkers at the entrance. Because we were in and out so much, we recognized all of them by the time we had to check out. Be sure to check out the garden outside because it's lush and well maintained. If you go up to the top, you'll get to see a pretty view of the downtown LA skyline.

Yelp
Terrible!! Nightmare!! Hilton Hotel seems unwilling to refund my money. The place is old, dirty, and the customer service is a mess. If a billing issue arises, they will not resolve the problem. I want to warn everyone about the terrible and indifferent service I experienced at the DoubleTree by Hilton in LA. I do not want anyone else to suffer as I have. In December 2023, filled with excitement, I booked a room at the hotel to celebrate the end of the year with my children. Despite the building being old and the accommodations unclean, I refrained from complaining because I did not want to ruin the precious memories with my children. However, upon checking out and trying to leave the self-parking lot, the machine indicated that my parking ticket was not paid, and I had to pay on the spot with my credit card to exit, as cars were lined up behind me. Believing that the hotel would refund the double charge, I paid without protest. Because, They clearly stated at checkout that my parking charges were fully paid and no further costs would be incurred. Once home, I immediately opened a claim with the Hilton Hotel. I engaged in numerous live chats, called customer service, and sent emails, providing them with all the required documents and a detailed statement, including bank transaction records and photos of both sides of the parking ticket. Yet, all I received were automated responses promising contact within 3-5 days but no mention of a refund. I have been subjected to months of wasted time, effort, and stress due to Hilton's negligent customer support. I no longer wish to patronize Hilton Hotels. They have turned my precious memories into a nightmare. More frustratingly, despite my repeated contact, the last representative told me to dispute the charge with my bank. Following Hilton's advice, I filed a dispute, but the bank responded that it was Hilton's responsibility to issue the refund. However, Hilton Hotels is irresponsibly shirking its responsibility for refunds, pushing the burden onto customers and my bank with a lazy and irresponsible refund policy. I am planning to file a complaint with the consumer dispute committee as this may pose a legal issue. I did not want to do this as it is unpleasant and requires my time, but I have considered it in the hope that there will be no more victims like myself. Also, they continued to delay the refund, instructing me to go back to the original situation and repeat the same process. OMG they keep making the same demands without refunding my double-charged parking fee. If this isn't an attempt to exhaust me into giving up on my refund, I cannot understand their motives. Is this how they intend to misappropriate customers' money? Before you consider staying at a Hilton hotel, think twice. The place is old, dirty, and the customer service is a mess. If a billing issue arises, they will not resolve the problem. Share your experiences on social media and review platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Expedia, and Hotels.com to ensure no one else has to endure what I have.

Yelp
One of the worst Double tree I have been. Besides the ridiculous parking fee depsite being an overnight customer, the front desk would never pick up the phone when called upon our room. I had to travel 18 floors to simply ask if they offered toothpaste. The elevators were faulty as well

Yelp
Technically, I would give this hotel 3 1/2 stars, but I will round up since I had a good time here. I had a great room on the 21st floor with a fantastic view. Extra credit for that! I was, however, very surprised at how much I could hear the traffic and sirens below, given how high up I was. Interestingly, I stayed at the Biltmore last week on the fifth floor and you couldn't hear any of that--and that one was a much older hotel. The location is great. I see some people complaining about downtown LA, but if you are staying in downtown LA, you need to be here, so you shouldn't fault a hotel for that. I highly recommend a walk and a few meals in Japan town. The hotel is bit dated and shows some wear, but the beds are super comfortable, it's very clean and the nice TVs work great! I know a lot of places are hurting with the pandemic, so I expect some wear and tear here and there. I love that there was a restaurant downstairs, but it was completely unusable for me. Ridiculous. It was absolutely freezing. The employees were freezing! I even put on my hoodie and my legs (w/pants) were too cold to eat there. I took my breakfast to go. That's ridiculous. The high today is predicted to be 68. It is far less than that in that restaurant. Also, it was a little bit strange that they promote this digital key idea where you can use your phone to unlock your room, but it does not work on the elevator. So, that's kind of useless, right? In the bathroom, the fan blows constantly. There is no way to turn it off so you have to have the door closed at all times. That's annoying and seems wasteful to me. In the shower, the water could be a tad bit warmer, but it was manageable. Probably the biggest irritation was the fact that the bar downstairs closes at 10 PM. It's a nice place to hang out with friends that are staying at the hotel. Since I was here with a group who had not seen one another since before the pandemic, we really liked the ability to sit and comfort, and have a drink. Last night we got in at 10 after 10 and even though the bar was full of people, they had stopped serving. On a Saturday night! Finally, they give you warm cookies on check in. That's awesome!

Yelp
1111/10 DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Disgusting hotel. Repulsed by the poor cleanliness of this place. You're better off in a motel, forreal. 1. Check-in is at 4PM & our room still wasn't ready until an hour later, lmao. 2. Stained blanket, WTF?!. Too bad we noticed it on the last day when we untucked the blanket. 3. Holes & cracks in the wall everywhere. Dust everywhere. Ratfest you can hear them in the AC. 4. Bathroom so tiny & literally falling apart. They also ran out of shampoo & said they would bring some when its in stock but it never happened. 5. Fridge & freezer didn't work, and our ice cream melted. We asked for a replacement & they gave us another old room temperature fridge WITHOUT a freezer (when I even stated our ice cream was melting...) 6. Random rat poop appeared on the ground last day of checkout. The bottom of our shoes were clean. 7. NO GUARANTEED PARKING EVEN IF U PAY FOR IT. THIS PLACES MAKES A MOTEL/INN LOOK LUXURIOUS.

Yelp
This is my 4th time staying here, this is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff is immaculate, they truly will treat you like royalty, the rooms are spectacular and now the showers have been upgraded. i'm Watching the Olympics in my room, going downstairs and the entire staff knows what I want. . This is a vacation away from home. I love this place, By the way the cookies are a plus

Yelp
I stayed here for a 12-night stay for a work trip, so I have many thoughts and experiences about this establishment. Let's get the cons out of the way first : - It's located in Downtown LA. - The gym is underwhelming. Because I stayed so long, I would've appreciated a few more options. - The decor is very dated. - I had an encounter with a roach in my shower (10th floor) which was very unsettling. - Hot water was a challenge. It was often lukewarm at best. - The wallpaper was peeling from the wall in my room and curtains had some suspicious stains. And now for the PROS : - It's located in Downtown LA - Doubletree cookies (IYKYK) - An uber is never more than 8 mins away - Bartender in the lobby is kind and friendly - The housekeeping staff who helped capture the roach were extremely diligent, kind and understanding. - I loved the view from my room which overlooked the Kyoto Garden. - Bed was comfortable enough. - I appreciated having the mini fridge in there. This is very much a no frills set up. You'll be safe (as much as you can be in DTLA) and put up. I'll add that if I was there for a shorter period of time, I likely wouldn't have noticed as much. TL;DR -- If your job is paying for you to be there, don't spend too much time in there if you can help it. Get out and see the city!

Yelp
Maria and the entire front desk staff was pleasant and helpful during my stay. The hotel itself is, at best, a typical Doubletree experience. Location is convenient to DTLA as it's often referred to! Cookies were available nightly and plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

Yelp
Nice place we would stay before moving to OC when we would go to Disneyland. Close by you can walk restaurants close by.
