The DoubleTree San Juan was amazing!!! |From the warm welcome (and delicious cookies!) to the entire friendly staff over the course of our stay. The restaurant and bar inside suggested the perfect selection of food and drinks, and the wonderful valet made us feel right at home. William, Jaison, Christian, and James had much work cut out for them as many times as we came in and out of the hotel needing to see the island in 6 days. This staff made us feel like family, and locals. Thank you!

We stayed here for a weekend (as the hotel was previously recommended by family members that had stayed here) and had the best time. The staff are extremely kind, friendly, helpful, and attentive. The hotel was clean, the food was great, and they make some amazing drinks as well. We were super comfortable during our entire stay, and loved the flexibility to move around easily based on the great location. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants, Supermax, and uber to any other locations easily. We also enjoyed the cart service to/from the beach where they provide everything you need to enjoy a relaxing beach day. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can’t wait to come back!! A huge thank you to everyone that works here and made our stay so enjoyable/memorable :)

I loved my stay at this Hotel. It's clean and a great location, but the best part was the Staff. Super friendly and accommodating front desk staff, but William, the valet, was hands down the best. I love to explore local places and off-the-beaten-path places, and he had the best suggestions for me from Nature parks to restaurants. I would share my pics with him after each excursion. He helped make my trip one of the best ones ever! All images protected by Celfie Lock

I travel quite frequently, using Hilton properties exclusively. This was the best experience I've had. The customer service was extraordinary. I arrived several hours prior to check-in and was assured I could be immediately accommodated. The property is extremely well-maintained; personnel move about dutifully making certain to acknowledge guests. The restaurant does not disappoint; meal choice suggestions were great. I gave the bartender creative license and was quite pleased. I'd look forward to a return visit. Thanks Michael and Andrea for being especially attentive.

Great stay here, and the staff truly went above and beyond for us! We left some important documents in our room after checking out, and Courtney was able to work with a taxi and get them to us at the airport so that we could still make our flight! The location was great, about a 10-minute drive from Old San Juan. The valet and front desk staff were very kind and friendly. And the restaurant had good food and prompt service on the last night of our stay.

Google
(Not a 4 star hotel) The hotel is no doubt beautiful on the the outside, but the location is in the "hood". The pools are dirty and not up kept. I understand there are trees surrounding the pools but not one time someone attempt to clean it. There was trash beside bushes floating around in the pool and the sun bed shades as well as bed and benches were also dirty. Every thing is small, exp.... the room ,the adult/baby pool and the gym. The only area that remain cool was is the bar, the rest of the lobby was uncomfortably. The breakfast wasn't tasteful nor the lunch/ dinner. After that experience we ate at other locations that was not only amazingly good it was pocket friendly. This is not a place to bring your kids or family. Lucky for us there was a supermarket directly across the street. The only thing nice about that hotel was the guy at check out and in Jean, then there was William and Christian who both help us with things to do and places to go. We had to call for towels and the trash to be removed. The trash bags are very small and I try my best to keep the room clean. The hotel manager Bryan was rude and very standoff wasn't accommodating at all. I was charged for hotel fees online which was 200 and Ryan charged me again. He asked for proof and I showed him the email receipt then he had me show him my bank statement but still charged me an additional 200. His attitude was nasty and stated if we don't pay we have to leave and if we leave we will have to pay a one day room penalty. I will never ever go there again.

Where so many things went wrong in the last three days, Double Tree did not. The staff were incredibly sweet, understanding, and accommodating. I want to give a shout out to William and Daiman, as well as the gentlemen that handled all of the beach chairs and umbrellas. I was always greeted with positivity and they had our backs with bikes, shuttles, and taxis. Upon checkout, staff accommodated us by holding onto our luggage until we were ready for our check out later that day. The pool was a pleasant surprise. Ping pong, a pool table, and a gym as well. Washer dryer available. Let’s not forget the cookies. Lastly, everything you would need is within minutes. Thank you to the Hilton, it’s worth staying here again.

Google
This hotel should be a 5 star on Trip Advisor! It is an ideal location just blocks from the beach and they even shuttle you the few blocks for free and pick you up again from 9 am to 5 pm. And it includes your beach chairs and umbrella! The daily resort fee is much less than any local hotel there. It is a 10 min walk to the beach if you prefer to go yourself. There are all amazing restaurants nearby and a grocery store directly across the street. The rooms are very clean, great beds and bathroom, and housekeeping was amazing. It’s a $10 uber ride at the most to Old San Juan for site seeing and 10 mins from the airport. There is a pool and hot tub, fitness center, restaurant and bar. You just can’t beat this hotel in San Juan!

Yelp
The night Valet William, and the front desk staff member Valerie and Manager Michael are so friendly and welcoming! This is my first time staying at a resort or hotel in Puerto Rico. It's only for one night in preparation for our cruise but was a great choice. The room is a Queen with a Murphy bed. It's spacious has all you need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend and will be adding it to my contacts and definitely stay here again in the future. The decor is beautiful with a gorgeous fresh centerpiece changed out weekly. The pool area is nice. The maintenance man tidying up is also personable. For those wanting to stay fit while traveling or to work off their cookies, the Fitness Center can accommodate. The Digital Key is a great feature for those who love all things technology. I may opt for a traditional room key next time. It's good to have options. Oh, "The DoubleTree Cookie" is always available in abundance. I walked up to the front desk the next morning to ask a question and was handed 2 cookies. :-) Margarita is a welcome pleasant presence at the DoubleTree! The review may be short but I really am impressed with everything I've seen and experienced. The bed was comfortable. Thank you DoubleTree by Hilton San Juan!

Yelp
My friend and I had to edit some videos and we thought to come here and do that in their lobby as long as we could get a bite to eat and some coffee to keep us alert and pumped up to do the job at hand... the staff at the Doubletree exceeded our expectations. There is plenty of room to sit and do business in their lobby and there is a button that you can press to have a waitress come right away. We kept our waitress quite busy with coffees and little snacks that we bought throughout the night. It was a great experience! Service came with a smile and it was Also handy that there is a parking lot next-door! Had we come a little earlier we would've sat there and had dinner, but it was a bit later so we settled for snacks and coffee. When I asked the waitress, if by any chance she could get me a cookie even though the restaurant was closed, they presented me and my friend with one of those double tree chocolate cookies with nuts and boy did that wake us up! This is a great hotel that I've stayed at many times because it's one of the only ones in SAN JUAN that has really huge nice bathtubs! Good to know! It was a pleasure, knowing that we could get work done and have some food served to us by their extremely capable staff right in the lobby area. I highly suggest it if you need to have a business working lunch this would be the most perfect spot and you can be sure that the staff will be extremely accommodating to your needs. A++++ Hilton brands always go the distance and on the island, they are the BEST!!! Thank you to the management and staff of the Doubletree Hilton in Condado/Santurce.

Yelp
Check in was easy. Arrived in the evening on a Thursday with my puppy. Our room was upgraded to a corner room which was nice. It was clean and spacious. We had bell guy bring our luggage up to the room. We were both starving so went down to the hotel restaurant to check it out. Our server, a young woman, was not attentive. However, the bartender and another sever Carlos were both very friendly and kind. Food was OK. We were able to ask a lot of questions to Carlos. He made recommendations of other PR foods and coffee. He was very proud and happy to share details of PR food. Just wished our server was as friendly. The grocery store right across the street was very convenient. It's open 24 hours too I believe. We loved how the hotel provides a golf cart ride to the beach and comes back to pick up guests when they are ready. Didn't have to wait long at all. Hotel also has a spot on the beach where they have someone with towels who sets up chairs and umbrella at no extra charge. My fav part about this beach trip besides the view was the pina coladas served to us straight from a pineapple. They were huge and delicious! These were $20 cash ea. Since we had our puppy we tried sitting outside for breakfast the next day. There is a button on the table to call for service. It did not work. I went in to ask if it was possibly not working and confirm they could still serve us outside. Was told no button broken but they'd come out yes. After bringing us water they never returned after about 15-20 min so we left to search for another place. This was a disappointment, especially as a Hilton Diamond member. After returning about 30-45 min later our water on the table was still sitting outside! Gift shop is small but older lady that worked there was very nice. Got a postcard and postage. She was friendly. Got recommendations from one of the young guys at front desk for places to eat in Old San Juan. He provided a map and list of restaurants. Next door to hotel are some shops such as Roma for clothing, Denny's for food, and Starbucks. We walked around some. Since we brought our puppy we tried finding an allowable spot for her to relieve herself. There were several signs saying not to disrespect the lawn. Since it's a pet friendly hotel I expected an easier spot for this. We used valet since self parking was not close by. Valet drivers and other hotel guys in the area were friendly. After taking an Uber to dinner one night I realized there are some cool places not too far from the hotel. They do have scooters for rental which we didn't use but seemed like it would've been fun. However I'd caution to be careful with drivers in the area. I'm from a big city but the drivers in PR are VERY careless and unbelievable. Either driving way too fast or refusing to use a turn signal. If I returned to San Juan I may stay here again. Hopefully both elevators would work next time. There was only one working which was a bit of a pain. Location isn't bad. There some some hotels closer to all the action and nightlife in Candado just a little pricier.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree in S.J. our room was clean and had a nice view of the pool. Staff at the hotel were very friendly & helpful from check in to check out. I had a few issues but the manager, Michael was quick to resolve / make up for it. We loved that there's a super market right across the street, the pool / hot tub are 24 hours which is also great since we liked to swim late to beat the busy crowd & we could walk to the beach or take the golf cart if you don't want to walk it. The restaurant was great too, the food was delicious and the service was top notch, we ate there twice during our stay. We will definitely be back to stay here!

Yelp
Visiting from Washington DC and I will say I enjoyed my stay. We decided to stay here after reading the Yelp reviews and everything everyone has said is true. The hotel has a lot of things to do - gym, computer room, beautiful pool area, and a gorgeous lobby including a bar and restaurant plus a gift shop! They also offer a cart shuttle to the beach and have bikes you can rent. It's a great set up for the price. I also enjoyed how you can walk to so many places. La Placita is about a 15 minute walk, the grocery store is literally right across the street with amazing food and coffee, there's amazing food and smoothie shops all within a 15-20 minute walk. You'll want to be outside. My biggest complaint is one of the staff members who is an older woman who gave me a hard time checking in and when I tried to explain my situation to her she kept talking over me and working with her was extremely frustrating. Everyone else was pleasant. Also house keeping comes very very early and there was no DND sign for us to hang. I really liked our bathroom but one of the lights flickered and eventually just stopped working so I'm surprised it wasn't fixed before we got there. I would stay at this hotel again!

Yelp
So as not to bury the lead, I have to start with the highlight - the shower! Picture something just a step below the scene in Seinfeld where Kramer gets blown away by the high-pressure shower, and you'll get where my preferences lie. It's so common nowadays to have hotel showers with weak water pressure, and/or issues with the water not getting hot. Neither was an issue in this case. The pressure was really impressive, and I didn't even turn the little dial to the higher-pressure spay. One downside was the AC not getting that cold at all. It's one of the newfangled units that shuts off when there's not movement in the room. Which would be fine if the room actually started getting cold when we were in the room for over an hour. No such luck. Even with it dialed down to the lowest setting, it barely (eventually) got to a tolerably cool temp. We were also having issues with the desk wobbling (which was really annoying since my wife and I wanted to do some work on our laptops. When we called down the first person kind of left us hanging for a bit. Fortunately the second time we were able to get someone to actually send up maintenance. The maintenance was able to turn it (temporarily) on a mode where the sensor didn't need to detect movement to keep it cold. I get that new hotels are trying to be more energy efficient, but we had stayed at an older hotel just the prior day for a lot cheaper (although we'd used points for DoubleTree) and the old hotel had a super cold AC setup. I think part of the issue was the size of the room versus the power the unit could output, since it was producing cold air. That said, the staff was generally great. We spoke with multiple very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff members. We did talk to the manager and he was able to comp us a couple buffets for the morning of our checkout. The buffet incidentally was excellent with lots of options (and an omelette station), just really pricey out of pocket. Another plus was the layout of the room. With the Murphy bed up, it left a lot of room to spread out. It was like having a whole living room. The long shelf next to the windows was nice as a place to put stuff. The bathroom as a whole felt orderly and clean. Lastly, the pool area was nice with lots to do and open 24 hours! Water's a little cold, but that's what the jacuzzi is for I suppose. They also include things like shuttles to the beach and accommodations once there (such as towels and beach chairs) - although that's only from 9 - 5 I believe. And it's super close so we just walked there to take a quick look. They also offer a few other perks under the umbrella of their $45 resort fee, so I suppose you might as well take advantage. All in all, would stay again if I had the points (since they don't charge resort fee if you pay with points). Or maybe even out of pocket.

Yelp
Visiting from Dallas, TX We spend our first night in PR here. The restaurant on site (El Patio) was very convenient, and the food was great. The food presentation was pretty nice. Our server was very attentive. We would definitely return!

Yelp
I wish we could give this hotel less stars than this. If you're looking to stay in the San Juan area... do yourself a favor and do not book here. We had been looking forward to this week getaway for a while. We were excited to be staying in a hotel that had a restaurant, beach club, pool, and more, until we found out that some of the promises/reasons for the nightly "resort fee" wasn't the truth. Please see below for more details... Restaurant: - Our third day in Puerto Rico was cut extremely short due to illness following breakfast at the restaurant Cafe Pierre. Morning breakfast in which the waitress and kitchen were notified of an allergy lead to a day of sickness. Parking: - Parking in the garage was confusing as there was no guidance and we had to get our parking ticket validated many times throughout our stay. "Beach Club": - There is no such thing as the "beach club." We walked to the beach due to the lack of information regarding the shuttle (not sure where the shuttle was) just to find a man sitting by a Doubletree flag, under shelter, on his phone, and not paying attention to those coming to use the chairs that are being paid for. We ended up just using our towels. Resort Fees: - in addition to the "beach club," there were other faults with the nightly "resort fees" at this hotel. Jt was promised that these would cover a Puerto Rican coffee station, which doesn't exist. Wake Up Calls: - We expected our trip to allow for sleeping in and not having alarms. This was not the case as we were woken up multiple mornings to maintenance being done outside of our window. Please see photos of men using a blow torch directly outside of our room window. Power: - The power went in and out while we were staying here. This caused appliances in the room to stop working and the elevator to stop working, preventing us from getting up to our rooms. We had to take a back elevator in the maintenance area of the hotel. Elevator: - Only one elevator worked the entire time we were here, which lead to backed up access to our rooms. Toilet: - Upon our arrival our toilet seat was off of its hinges. We contacted the front desk about this and were told that a maintenance tech would be up/in contact, but this never happened throughout the entire week we were here. We were looking forward to (and paying for) a nice relaxing week away, but unfortunately the issues at this hotel prevented this from happening while at the hotel. The rest of San Juan was amazing.

Yelp
The Double Tree, San Juan exceeded our expectations. The room was beautiful and the service was exceptional. We interacted with several of the front desk staff members during our stay, and each of them were friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. Pablo, the bartender at Cafe Pierre, was the highlight of our stay. We arrived at the bar for a late night bite after a long flight, just 10 minutes before closing. He welcomed us as if we were the first customers of the day. He recommended that we try his signature drink - the Don Pablo and it did not disappoint. When we told him how much we enjoyed it, he walked us through the ingredients and steps so we can recreate when we return to California. He helped us start our trip out right. We will definitely stay at the Doubletree SJ again.

Yelp
Stayed here for about a week with my then Fiancé, now husband, on our wedding week. The hotel is located in Condado, an upscale area of San Juan with hipster bars and decent businesses around (if you're up for walking). It's beautiful with plenty of greenery and windows/sunroofs. Check in was a breeze as I'm a Hilton Diamond Member, and we weee upgraded to a gorgeous poolside room with sliding doors leading to our on patio right on the pool deck. The room was fully updated and even had bath robes. AC worked like a charm, tv listing is plenty, The TV was mounted on the wall but there was an outlet if you wanted to connect your own HDMI cord which was perfect for us and our Roku stick. The hotel was mostly quiet, probably due to the waiver they had us sign at check-in which would fine any guest $100 for being too loud. The on-site restaurant was pretty nice too. Gave us a lot of food which tasted pretty good, and their drinks were good as well. Staff was courteous and tentative, answering a lot of questions we had about the area and transportation. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the beach amenities, but will have to leave that for next time! There is a hold for $50 per night on a card of your choice, to which is refunded to you upon check out. So you should be aware of that before you go. Regardless of all the precautions taken, it is definitely an enjoyable hotel, and we will be coming back again soon.

Yelp
The hotel is also conveniently located across the street from a market. I forgot to add this as part of my initial review.

Yelp
What a great place and location! Went here for an event- parking was easy- located close to a lot of food options. The staff was very attentive and the hotel was super clean and trendy. The drinks from the bar were fun- they pay attention to the details- ice molds, fresh garnishes! From Cafe Pierre- The appetizers were really good. The cauliflower wings are AMAZING. The turnovers were also really flavorful! Finally the chinchorreo boricua sampler was well cooked and not too greasy for being all fried options. I'd highly suggest having events or staying here!

Yelp
I loved this hotel. Location was fantastic and such a good value. The beach shuttle, beach service, cleanliness, super market across the street, close to airport, short drive to old San Juan, etc. Friendly staff, welcoming vibe. I have stayed at more luxurious brands and haven't had as positive of an experience as I did at this hotel. I think if we came back as a couple (traveled without kids this time) I would totally come back to this hotel. I think it would be a little too tight for us as a family of 4 with our kids but as adults solo had a great experience.

Yelp
We chose this place for our first few days in San Juan. The room had a very European feel to it, I should have gotten a pic but after only a couple hours of sleep the night before and feeling a little jet lagged I dumped the suitcase and crawled into the king size bed. They have everything you need, laundry mat, pool, kiddo pool, spa, gym, large lobby area with ample seating, pool table, ping pong table, and the mandatory hammock for use on a tropical island, in house restaurant with a bar that always seems packed. Food was pretty good. Wasn't the best place but it had the amenities, staff were friendly and helpful. Oh and don't forget to check out the Choclates at Lily's in the lobby.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel during April 2023 for a combination work/friend trip to San Juan. I stayed at one of the beachfront hotels during a previous trip, and the Doubletree was a much more enjoyable, and affordable, experience. Margarita was at the front desk when we arrived, hours before our scheduled check in. We told her that we were early, and understood that the room might not be ready. She greeted us warmly and offered to pre-check us in and hold our luggage while we went to the beach! The valets shuttle you to the beach (just two blocks away) in a golf cart and there are hotel staff at the beach to set you up with chairs and umbrellas. The staff even carried our cooler to the beach for us. The shuttle runs until 5pm, but since we wanted to stay longer, we chose to walk back. It was an easy and safe 7 minute walk. I have visited some of the local public beaches and can say that the Ocean Park beach the shuttle drops you at was nicer and cleaner than many others. Our room was ready when we returned and the hotel upgraded us to a room with both a Queen bed and a Murphy bed. It was exactly what my friend and I needed. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and well furnished. No complaints at all about our stay. I cannot say enough about the wonderful valet staff working here. Shout out to Gadiel and Jose! They were always quick and helpful with lots of local recommendations. Interactions with the valets really made our trip even better. Estefania at the front desk was also awesome! We were unsure about local nightlife and she made some excellent suggestions that were so fun, we went back the next night to visit them again! We visited the pool area during our stay and it was lovely. My only disappointment would be the breakfast buffet. I received complimentary continental breakfast due to my status with Hilton and was disappointed with the available options. It included some flavored yogurt and a small amount of meats and cheeses. I did not see much on the hot bar that I would have paid for either. A minor complaint, easily addressed by having many coffee shops nearby. I would absolutely visit this hotel next time I'm in San Juan!

Yelp
This is a nice hotel very friendly staff . I only had one complaint which they took care of immediately. I did want to enjoy the in house restaurant but it was not my favorite place for a meal . I did call a Month a head and they had forgot my request so I had to call 2 times to make sure they actually did what I requested . They did finally do my request the last night of our stay so I was a little disappointed. The parking cost is high If you choose to drive it's best to walk or Uber . The beach is a golf cart ride away which you pay for and that was decent . I would go back it's close to the airport and restaurants.

Yelp
The hotel room was very compact. They fit everything in there; however, compared to other Doubletree's that I have stayed at on the mainland it was a tiny room. Also, the walls seemed to be thin as we could hear things in the hallway and in the rooms next door to us. The facility was nice. The main lobby area was very welcoming, bright and up-to-date. Nice exercise room. Nice pool and hot tub. Need some maintenance on a washing machine. I will say that all of the staff that we encountered were GREAT! The front desk staff Jeziel, Margaritas, and Brian were super helpful. My favorite employee at the hotel was Christian, a concierge, who helped us get transportation around the island and recommend places for us to go. Tip: Uber is much less expensive than taking cabs and we felt pretty safe.

Yelp
Absolute worst hotel and a total dump. Never have cookies, never cleaned my room while staying for 5 days. Extremely overpriced drinks in the lobby bar. Asked the day before I left for a late check out. They said I could stay til 2pm. Then started harassing me and saying I was supposed to be out at 1pm. Then 2 hours after I left they called me and said they would be charging me a late check out free. After paying $400 a night for a dump of a room it's absolutely mind blowing they gave me the bait and switch and want to charge for a late check out that they previously approved. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else in PR

Yelp
The rooms and bathrooms need to be taken care of better. The showers are gross with black mold and grime in between all of those tiny tiles. Also the "beach club" area needs to be manned by someone pleasant, since the guy in charge of the chairs and umbrellas had a horrible attitude. Also there's no service from the hotel restaurant at the beach so I had to Uber to Supermax from the beach (which was conveniently across the street from the hotel) to buy a cooler, ice, drinks, vodka, water, tortilla chips, salsa, fruit, plates, cups, forks, and salad to make my own experience. I shared with some others around me who were disappointed as well. The guy who drove us to the beach club was very nice and super helpful with recommendations on LGBT friendly areas and clubs for my girlfriend and I to go to. The location was within 5-10 minute walking distance of a lot of restaurants and bars, and a cheap Uber ride to old San Juan. The pool area was nice and well maintained but pool service leaves a lot to be desired. Having laundry inside was helpful with washing clothes before returning home to cut down on sandy luggage as well. The restaurant/bar left a lot to be desired with food choices, flavor, and service at the bar. Luckily there's lots of other places to go nearby. Wi-Fi also did not work.. the signal was very weak For the price I paid however plus resort fee (which is silly because it's not a resort..) it's totally not worth it. Just go with another hotel even if you have to pay more so that you're comfortable. I am not used to this type of hotel or treatment for a vacation that I spent so much on.

Doug W.

Yelp
The hotel room was clean, comfortable, and modern. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Conveniently located near the beach, restaurants, and groceries. They offer a shuttle to the beach with complimentary chairs, umbrellas, and towels. Walking distance to La Placita de Santurce for nightlife or a farmers market. The restaurant/bar was a little expensive. The breakfast was no better than what you might get for free at some hotels. We would definitely stay there again but dine elsewhere.

Yelp
We stayed in DT's San Juan location on the last night of our trip. We did some bouncing around and this was a nice place to end our stay. It is located in an area called Condado which is, and I'm no PR tour guide by any stretch of the imagination, probably the best place to stay in San Juan. Old City isn't terribly far and there are a ton of restaurants and the beach nearby. I was somewhat disappointed in the number of bars but perhaps we didn't go to the right part. La placita, which is something everyone visiting should check out, is like a 2 minute uber drive away. Also speaking of their location, there is a 24/7 grocery store right across the street which comes particularly in handy. Just like every other DT, the lobby is enormous and has a bunch of good shit in it. There's a starbucks somewhere in the vicinity, a little convenience store that sells swiss chocolate (for what it's worth) and a restaurant/bar. There is also a seating area and a helpful screen that displays upcoming flights. Staff was friendly. We were checked in without issue. The warm cookies come standard. There is only one elevator which seems to be a theme in San Juan and you have to take a narrow ramp/stairs to get to it. There is a small pool adorned with a waterfall in a courtyard that makes up both the center of the facility and the window views of the room. There is also a hot tub that I was hoping to utilize however creepy weird people were in it at that time. Of note, they also have laundry and a gym. Even though this place is not on the beach, it is about a 10-15 min walk and they do have a little spot on the beach where they provide chairs, towels, and blankets. You can order drinks and get food from the hotel's restaurant delivered. This was an amazing service, the (almost) beachfront hotel we stayed in for the first part of our trip did not have this. The room itself was standard size and fitted with a desk, chair, dresser, coffee pot, all the usuals. The TV was of nice size. The bed was soft and comfy. The bathroom was standard. There was a robe, just one, ready to be thrown on. There is an alarm clock present, I do enjoy being aware of time and space when I awake intermittently in the night. There is also a microwave! More times than once in my life have I longed for the presence of a microwave. The shades leave large gaps which means there is a ton of light in the morning. I personally like to sleep in a cave and the little beams of light that penetrated through the periphery of my eye mask were bothersome. Last but not least, they give you the option of ordering breakfast in advance, which I think is pretty neat! Call me a n00b but I've never seen that before coming to PR. Anyways, this was a great hotel and highly recommended.

Yelp
I really needed a break away and PR was the spot to go to for a quick getaway. When we booked the room for my friend and I and we were pretty sure we booked a room with two beds but when we got to the room we only had one. Reception said they were all booked up and there weren't any more rooms. Claimed we had a room with a queen bed. I have a queen bed at home so I know this wasn't it. This was a full size bed but we made due. That was the only issue we had. Everything with the hotel was good. There's a shuttle that will take you back and forth to the beach. The beach is also close enough to walk to.

Yelp

Yelp
We chose this hotel for our vacation. We paid over 1000$ for 4 nights. We paid for a king-sized suite with a balcony. We got a room with one queen sized bed readily available and another that folded out of the wall. The rooms are joined by a lockable door. This would normally not be an issue. The people next door to us were an issue. The walls were paper thin, and we could hear them blaring music at all hours of the day. The hotel staff were informed of this at midnight on the second day of our stay. It was handled by hotel staff. I refuse to fight with drunk, ignorant people at midnight-thirty on my vacation. On the final night of our stay, the people got into a physical fight. The hotel staff will be informed of this. I am not getting involved with this situation and potentially delaying by trip home. We will warn the staff of the fight as we check out today. I honestly should have just paid extra for a better hotel. They exist in the area and, at this point, seem like they are worth the extra money. If you didn't read all of that, then summery is this: Don't stay here if you value your sleep or sanity. The domestic violence next door aside, the hot tub, was nice.

Yelp
Really great and modern hotel in the middle of everything. A quick 20 minute walk will lead you to Condado. And in the other direction is Calle Loiza for nightlife. A short drive to the airport and Old San Juan. The location couldn't be better. Valet is about $25/night if you bring a car. Resort fee is $45/night and they provide transportation to the beach, which is also walkable. The restaurant downstairs is good for breakfast, but dinner left a lot to be desired. Overall a very clean and quiet hotel with crisp sheets, a modern bathroom, and blackout curtains! A small (but nice) pool area. They also have a nice fitness center and business center. The staff was very kind. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but we didn't spend much time in our room other than sleeping.

Yelp
I had one of the best times in my life. At the double tree Hilton hotel. Me and my wife enjoyed our stay there from beginning to the end. It was a vacation of a lifetime .staying there from the hospitality to the warm chocolate chip cookies at the front desk. To taking a walk across the street to the supermarket..or taking a walk around the block to bebo cafe. One of our favorite restaurants in San Juan. We discovered a new best places to enjoy our selves at while staying at double tree. You can't forget about the complmentry trip to the beach .nice place to visit while staying there. The trip over there was kinda funny we went in a golf cart kinda vehicle. But the vehicle was kinda fast ..so we had to hold on for that fun ride to the beach shout out to our driver .who took us there and back .when we got back we enjoyed the nice pools they had there .and there internet room with computers you can use really nice . After our few days at this cool place we were off to our cruise ship .but we said we will always come back to this particular double tree. When ever we are in San Juan Puerto rico.

Yelp
Never in my life have I experienced such HORRIBLE customer service. The hotel threw out a very expensive personal item of mine. I asked to make a claim using their insurance or talk to the director of loss prevention. The staff kept brushing me off, Denise Santos who is the manager was extremely disrespectful and rude to me. I wanted to make a claim but they refused. The customer service at this hotel was unacceptable and unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend these accommodations. In my business customer service is the main reason why I am successful. Don't they know the customer is always right? They did not offer me any compensation for my loss.

Yelp
So if I write another 5 reviews today, that'd be 10 in 2 days! Hmmm - let's start then (lots of fodder in the hopper!) We went on a cruise out of SJU just before all this C-19-hell broke loose; decided to go a couple of days early so that we can explore a little of what this beautiful place had to offer. The DoubleTree is not too far away from the airport (10 min. no traffic, 15 if it's bad), and even closer to the Pan Am cruise port (5 minutes). Lyft has not found its way here yet, but Uber is ubiquitous - no need for us to rent a car, pay for the parking, along with all the other driving/parking hassles wherever you're going (it's $20 valet at this hotel, for instance). The hotel has a kind of small entrance that isn't that grand, but the lobby is fairly comfy and cozy (see pix). They have small restaurant called Cafe Pierre and bar, where breakfast is also offered. We supposedly got an upgrade, but it was no huge deal - had they put us one floor lower, the walk-out patio would have been even better. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard DoubleTree deal with room amenities. Except, they bill this as a resort: now, while the pool and grotto etc. are quite quaint and well kept, there's nothing really "resort-y" about this place, except the price! On top of the average of $200-$250 daily rate, they charge you a "resort fee"! And no it's not 10% or $20 (exorbitant enough already if you ask me), but it's a whopping 20% of your rate. So on $250, that's $50. Ouch! That, alone, took it down one star. When we return, we might look for other, less gouge-y, digs - not that easy if I want to stay loyal to Hilton, though.

Yelp
I been there for aweek with my 3 kids. Everyone super nice, my kids are 4, 7, 9. Yes I agree the pool is not big but for me and my kids it was perfect ibfidbt need to be stress they will hurt or get lost becouse I always see them. You have supermarkets rigth across the street from the hotel. And the beach like 15in walk but they drive u in this cute car wich was very fun to my kids and over there u have towels and chairs from the hotel. I had great stay.

Yelp
This hotel isn't in the best part of town, but when I say that, I mean there isn't much to do in the immediate area, except the beach. The beach is a 3 minute ride, 10 min walk. The staff was extremely friendly, and they have the best chocolate chip cookies EVER!! Juan, one of the front desk personnel was my favorite. He was so sweet! The only thing I didn't like was the hotels Cafe Pierre. The food is ok, but the service sucks. I think it's just a matter of them not having enough staff. Would I patronize this hotel again if I came back to San Juan? Definitely.

Yelp
It's college all over again. Annoying neighbors shouting and yelling crap in the hallways and while you sleep. There's not much sound proofing. 240$ a night gets you a small studio. The pool and workout area are nice . No free breakfast booo. The bathroom lock doesn't work so I had to battle my two year old trying to open the door while I took a dump. The shower glass is see through so anybody else who wants to use the bathroom is going to see you naked, who thought that was a good idea ? Lounge area is nice.

Yelp
My wife and stayed there for 6 night, we had a great time there. It's a clean environment, one my favorite spot the hot tub, the stuff is really friendly. I think the valet gotta upgrade a little bit about all these tickets if you do 10 back and front u get a ticket for all of them something they get mix up for us. It's a really good spot to stay everything close by, they also have a Starbucks, dennys , bugerfi , a supermarket across, a gas station, and food truck.

Yelp
Can I smoke weed in the lobby or just directly in front of the hotel? The smell of marijuana is unbearable. This hotel is unsuitable for families and flight crews. I miss the days of cigarette smoke being the only smoke you have to choke on.

Yelp
Arrived at the hotel at 1 am on Sunday, January 22, 2023 to find that we did not have a room despite reserving it months ago. Apparently there was a burst pipe that prevented the hotel from honoring our reservation. I am a Hilton Honors member; so much for that. So here my party of three sits exhausted from a long day of travel waiting for the hotel to book us into other lodgings (still no word yet). They have told us that we will need to pay for our room at the new hotel and they are not "comping" it. We were provided with cookies and water...big freaking deal. No advanced notice. Still no confirmation of our alternate lodging. No taxi. an incredible lack of courtesy and planning. it's not as though the pipe burst five minutes before we arrived. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. You have been warned.

Yelp
Nice hotel with very attentive staffs and 24 hrs swimming pool! Hotel offers a lot of amenities (ping pong table, pool table, gym, hot tub, among others). Very near of the beach (5 min walk) and also there is a shuttle where you can get a ride to the beach.

Yelp
Not terrible, but disappointing. The property is decent and only about a mile from beach areas. Front desk staff are friendly, if not always attentive. The pool area is nice. --I bumped this up to three stars after the GM phoned me and assured he was taking action to address the issues below.-- Housekeeping needs much better quality control by management. Almost every day there was something that didn't get done, such as all the used towels not being replaced, shampoo or other amenities not replaced, water glasses not cleaned properly, empty Kleenex dispenser not refilled, trash can not emptied, used coffee pods not removed from the coffee maker, etc. If a manager came by each day with a checklist these little errors might be caught. However, I was most extremely annoyed that twice during a four-week stay my room did not get serviced at all! (Yes, I had removed the "do not disturb" sign from the door in the morning.) When I complained to front desk staff, they had fresh towels sent up but that didn't really fix the problem of my room not being serviced.

Edwin P.

Yelp
Not the friendliest staff. Breakfast was not very good. Bar is super expensive like $8 for a beer which is insane. Room was fine but toilets are not very good. Overall would rather go elsewhere next time. Elevator was not working during my stay and waited 5-10 minutes a few times as they were working on replacing tiles/flooring at my inconvenience. Just not very welcoming and overall meh. People outside handling cars and shuttles were nice though.

Yelp
I normally don't stay at the same hotel twice. However, my experience has been AMAZING since I stepped foot in San Juan so I'll book again! My boyfriend and I flew in really early. They were able to check us in hours before check-in. This accommodation really helped us because we were able to get comfortable and gain more time back in our day. They gave us fresh warm cookies and complimentary Puerto Rican coffee. The staff helped us with everything you could possible think of. Most hotels try to nickel and dime you but the Double Tree simply just accommodates you. They have free complimentary bikes, 24-hour hot tub and pool access, bar, restaurant, shopping, 24-hour grocery/liquor store nearby, and they are in a good location. Minutes away from their private beach area. They have a complimentary golf cart that takes you to their area on the beach. When you arrive they assign you a nice server and set you up with beach chairs, towels, and an umbrella. Literally you're only job here is to relax! Getting around is extremely cheap here and you can walk, bike, or Uber. I love the balanced mix of locals and tourists. I didn't feel like I was at huge tourist location. I felt like I was apart of their culture and I love it!

Yelp
OMG!!! What can I say about this Double Tree!! From the moment we arrived our experience was nothing short of beautiful. The front desk staff, I don't know all the names, but smiles are infectious! Service with a smile at its best. But THE greatest addition to this hotel is the concierge Christian. If I could bottle him up and take him everywhere, would be amazing!! Don't ever let him go! The rooms were very nice and clean, nice pool and jacuzzi, complimentary rides to the beach. Nice convenient location. So much to say! But bottom line is STAY HERE!

Yelp
Even though the room was on the small side, I loved the good use of space. We checked into this hotel before heading out on a cruise the next day. It was very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. We thought we were going to have to store our luggage since we got to the hotel long before check in time. They gave us a room right away and we were off to explore Old San Juan. One if my favorite features of the hotel was the chocolate shop in the lobby. Nice touch! Of course we were given warm cookies and waters at check in. A nice hotel located within walking distance of several points of interest.

Yelp
Decent hotel. Have to walk to the beach. Breakfast buffet is good. Many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel seems to be trying to update the rooms. This is a city hotel. Staff was pleasant, helpful and friendly. It is supposed to be non smoking but on a four day stay half the time the smell of marijuana permeated the front entrance.

Yelp
We were able to get a digital key. The lobby has a place for drinks and food. The pool is a little small, but has chess and ping pong. The area has some restaurants walking distance and a supermarket across the street. The gym is small, but clean. The rooms in the main tower were a bit small but the Murphy bed helps. They gave us free drink tickets, water, and cookies. They also have a shuttle to the beach where they have chairs, towels, and beach umbrellas. If you're a Starbucks head like me, they also have one of those.

Yelp
Great staff, incredibly hard beds with very soft pillows. Not good for the back. Breakfast buffet was great and free as a Diamond Member. Location pretty good for work and they have a free shuttle to the beach. The gym isn't bad and although the pool is a bit small it's very pretty and lots of pool chairs and lounges.

Yelp
We researched a lot to find a good, peaceful hotel in San Juan and we are happy we booked this place. The room was very clean with everything in place. We checked in around 11pm in night and our receptionist Betsy was very courteous to us and check in process was very easy. Although I had a small issue with their buffet breakfast to diamond members, since it is complimentary in every hilton hotel we have been to, here they were giving only continental breakfast but charging for buffet, which did not make sense to us. Rest, everything was fine, they do have a covered parking and they charge around $18 per night.

Yelp
I love this Hotel it's one of many Hilton hotel's I have stood in and I have not been disappointed. Service is Great and rooms are beautiful.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Hotel rooms are fine, we booked a king and was told king at check in, but the bed is definitely a queen. Pool closes at 10 which is fine, but apparently you can't even sit outside and enjoy a drink on the large patio, no where near the pool. Even when there are balconies that lead out onto the patio. So the people in those rooms can be outside, but no one else is allowed to enjoy the evening quietly outside. No where does it say patio is closed. We walked out the open doors & then after the manager told us to leave they blocked off the doors & pretended it was blocked off the whole time and we looked stupid. You pay all of this money for a room and "resort" as advertised on their website & can't even sit outside quietly and enjoy a drink or get a king size bed. Ridiculous.

Yelp
Great value and experience for the price. Pool area is small, but the close proximity to the beach (and the shuttle that takes you there in 3 minutes) more than makes up for it. The rooms are also on the smaller side, but definitely has everything you need. Again, for the value, it more than delivers. Compared to one of the Hilton properties in Condado I stayed at last time I was here, the food and drink prices are also much more affordable. I'd stay here again!

Yelp
BEWARE: I was charged additional $60 ($20 per day) for valet parking even though I had no car while staying at this hotel. Had the credit card company help me get refund. BEWARE : Expedia/hotel bookings show rate of this hotel without resort fees, additional $30 a day added once you arrive at hotel. I did not use any of their beach offerings. Hotel was what i expect from Hilton standards and being a Hilton Honors guest, i received a clean, comfortable room. This dishonest undisclosed expense is fraudulent practice to trap guests. WOULD NOT STAY HERE IF RETURN TO SAN JUAN it is nowhere near a beach none of the resort ammenities shown are available. Golf cart has to be ridden to the beach but when you go to ask for it - they will instead show you directions to follow by saying it is not far. Beach is surrounded by apartments and buildings and in crowded place, so i did not even use the beach offerred. Tiny water bottles though an expense of about 50cent is not daily replaced for guests. On second day I requested water bottles and the tall old man at reception hesitently gave me two. Easier to walk across to supermarket to buy a gallon of water. I generally found the reception staff to be unfriendly and uninterested in their guests not even exchanging a hello as they passed them to get into elevator. FOR HOTEL PRICE + RESORT FEE - THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS IN SAME PRICE RANGE.

Adriana C.

Yelp
Excellent service, great room, perfect location! I had a great stay and I can't say enough about the staff. They went out of their way to accommodate, not only me, but other guests.
