Douglas House Bed & Breakfast

Had a fantastic stay here at The Douglas House. I needed quite a long stay and the owner managed to fit me in at late notice in different rooms around her other bookings. I got to stay in three out of the four rooms and all were immaculately clean with very comfy beds, high spec linen, toiletries, towels etc. The rooms were great sizes and just the right temperature with good storage space for your belongings. The host provides a very good breakfast service in the nicely decorated dining lounge. Always a friendly face from Kate whenever I was coming or going, would definitely book here again.

What a lovely, cosy and warm place to stay! Had rhe downstairs single room, with a shower. Small but cosy. There is a lounge with a sofa, books, games and dvd's for guests to enjoy. Kate is a great host and does a mean breakfast. She know all about Castle Douglas.

Stayed here for 3 nights in October 2024. Clean room and very comfortable bed! Kate the host is a lovely lady who cooks the most amazing breakfasts. I would love to return!

I can't recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough. Absolutely everything is perfect. The bedrooms have ensuite bathroom and both were spacious and spotlessly clean, including comfortable beds, with a good selection of tea and coffee making facilities with chocolate biscuits. The breakfast was the best Scottish breakfast we have ever had with very good quality produce cooked perfectly. |Kate The host and owner is keen to check that you are happy and clearly goes over and above to make sure you are. Thanks Kate we look forward to visiting again in the future.|Castle Douglas has lots of amenities and indoor and outdoor facilities in and close by, so if the weather changed we would still have had lots to do; even though we had fantastic sunshine we would still prefer to stay here rather than the coast for these reasons.

Spent two nights bed and breakfast at Douglas House. A lovely house that is light, airy, spacious, and full of character! Our room on the first floor was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Spacious en-suite shower room. Breakfast was very tasty. We chose the full Scottish breakfast from the menu that offered plenty of choice. Everything was cooked fresh by Kate, our hostess, who made us feel very welcome. Thank you, Kate, for a lovely stay.

Everything was perfect in this clean well run house - awesome breakfast choice, airy nicely decorated room, coffee bags in the room, not instant. Quiet at night yet bang in the middle of town, a short walk to the pub and a great variety of shops. Car parking easy, just outside, no hassle.

Had a nice quiet time here. Bed comfy, room clean, shower was great too. Breakfast was really enjoyable and a good selection. Host was amazing and couldn't do enough for you. In a good place as all the shops and cafes are only a minute walk. Would recommend

We loved our stay at the Douglas House in Castle Douglas. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, and Kate the owner was very friendly and made an effort to make us feel welcome. She went out her way to give us tips on things to do and where to go. Breakfast was so nice and varied, and yes Kate (I still have rubber scrambled eggs) and not your perfect ones hahaha. The room was lovely and had everything you'd need, even supplying oat milk and caramel wafers if you needed them, and a very good WiFi connection . Kate also allowed us to bring food into her establishment as long as you ate it in the dining room. We couldn't fault this bed and breakfast and we will be back. Thank you Kate for a wonderful stay.
