Dover Beach Hotel

Stayed a week in Dover beach hotel - block behind the hotel. Lovely room with huge comfy bed, good aircon and hot showers , kettle microwave fridge etc. nothing to worry about with cleanliness room was cleaned daily. Perfect for a hotel to rest your head in! Loungers were fine by the pool but we went out most days. They will move them into the beach but there’s then no shade at all. Lovely beach but the sea was very wavy whilst we were there so needed to go to other calmer beaches along the coast to swim.

Wonderful staff, great service! Will definitely be coming back again. The location was perfect! In walking distance to restaurants and bars to the Gap but far enough to not be disturbed by noise during busy night life. And Dover beach was beautiful! Was it a nice stay? Yes! Yes! Yes! Excellent hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are clean and brightly decorated with a kitchenette, which is great for making breakfast and lunch …and some light evening meals. This is adequately stocked for 2 persons with some kitchen utensils, crockery, and a good-sized fridge freezer. There is a 4 ring burner which you need matches for, and a microwave. If you don't want to self-cater, the hotel has a good restaurant that serves some light meals and full dinners: there is also a breakfast menu. ||Lovely pool area, and the location is on the beach with easy access to St Lawrence Gap and only a short walk to some good beach shacks/restaurants. There is a supermarket close for basic essentials. The hotel is near the Maxwell road, which has buses for access to Bridgetown and Oistins plus other places. Read up on buses in Barbados as there is quite a choice!||Staff are pleasant and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this as a mid range hotel, and we will be back. This hotel is beautiful- I was not expecting that from the first impression outside, but I was pleasantly surprised! It has a kitchenette stocked with all the utensils and appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave) needed to cook. The restaurant’s food was good, except the vegetable soup, I suggested that they add coconut milk 😂, and there is a good variety of options on the menu. I really appreciated the fact that there was a vegetarian breakfast option! The service was also excellent, the staff members were all very friendly. One staff member even let me take a few books from the bookshelf for my journey home because it was overcrowded!

We just returned from 2-week stay at Dover beach hotel. ||It's a small standard quiet hotel divided in three blocks. Only block Calais is located directly on the beach. You must choose studio ocean view if you want to see ocean from your balcony.||Even if the hotel is old, the room are very clean. The water is always hot and air conditioning works well. The provided articles are limited: towels, toilet paper, shampoo, hand soap and air dryer. Exterior is less well maintained than the interior. There was a bird's nest in the outside lamp on our balcony. So, no exterior light.||The beach is small, but you can walk further along the seashore. When it's windy, the waves are very strongs. The parasols of the beach chairs must be change: they are all broken. The pool is small but nice with new chairs.||The staff is very helpfull. They clean room every day and they help you with the tours to visit the island.||There is a restaurant at the hotel. The food are good. Don't take the breakfast pakage offered on their website: we'll pay more money than "à la carte". If you walk 3 minutes, you'll find many restaurants and a minimarket. You'll find beer, wine, rhum, snaks and cook meals. You can pay in US.||We recommand Dover beach hotel if you are not looking for luxury.||Odette and Luc|Québec Canada

Dover Beach Hotel is the best kept secret in Barbados. Staff were friendly and responsive. The location is right on the ocean with beautiful views. The surrounding area of St. Lawerence gap offers a bevy of restaurants, stores and local shops all within walking distance of Dover Beach Hotel. We walked around after dark with no problems. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. I like high thread count sheets and the bed linens at Dover Beach didn’t disappoint. The food at the hotel restaurant The Sea Grape was excellent and Keria, the bartender makes and excellent rum sour! I enjoyed both swimming pools as well.

Looks lovely and has good reviews but did not live up to expectations. This hotel is made up of three buildings. We weren’t in the main building but one next door. I expected a kitchenette but there was only a fridge, microwave and kettle in a tiny alcove - 2 cups and saucers and nothing else! I did get some plates and cutlery when requested but nothing seemed very well planned in the room with loads of wasted space. |There are two pool areas - one in main hotel with the bar and restaurant and the other outside the apartments across the way. This was nice and quiet in a garden setting.|Only had one breakfast and one lunch in the hotel which was ok but plenty of places to eat nearby. Apart from one evening, there was nothing happening in the bar area and the bar closed about 8 o’clock.|Having said that, the staff were great and always happy to help.

I had the best experience I could have asked for!! Everyone at the hotel was helpful, kind and just wonderful. Housekeeping was amazing and so helpful! I will definitely be back for sure!! Thank you so very much for a wonderful vacation
