Dover Beach Hotel

I've stayed here for 3 times in less than a year. It is a nice, clean, quiet & affordable place to stay. It is at the end of the Gap, yet in walking distance to the entire strip of restaurants and bars. The staff treat you like family and they work hard to make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible. It's my favorite place to stay on the South Coast.

We just got back from staying at this lovely hotel for 8 nights. The rooms were clean, the location is prime. The views are great if you are on the upper floor. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning is the quietest I have ever not heard! The wifi is a bit sketchy. The pool closes at 8:00 pm, which I found to be too early. The rooms have hangers and lots of drawers and surfaces to put your items on. There are not many plug ins; bring a cord or plugin with extra outlets. The restaurant has excellent food with all kinds of great choices at very reasonable prices. The service is great! The rooms do not have hair conditioner or skin conditioner; the market is close by to buy these items. The hairdryers are the basic tiny ones, I was glad I brought my own. The rooms do not have coffee pots however I was told I could have asked for one; they have a laundry room to use but I only found this out by hearing another person being told this. It would be helpful if these little details were posted somewhere! All of the staff was fabulous, helpful and welcoming except Charissa. I may be spelling her name wrong but since she didn't wear a tag, I am not sure. She was terrible from the get go and any time I asked for something she made me feel like I was bothering her. She seemed to go out of her way to be rude and unhelpful; and without getting into details actually went out of her way to cause us a problem. When I addressed this with other staff and management, they went out of their way to apologize and management gifted us a service for our trouble. I would stay here again, and do recommend this great, family owned hotel!

From the very start with the cab driver we were happy. We were confused with cab cost and our money exchanged. the cab driver stopped us and said we paid too much. SO, my hubby gave him a GREAT tip because he was so kind and honest. Got to Dover and wanted to switch to ocean view and they accomodated us imediately. GREAT room, clean and exactly what we needed for our stay. ONLY complaint would be the shower.... I felt bad because water got on the floor every time because of the odd shower glass. Other than that room was A+. STAFF, was SO accomodating and friendly. Especially the girls at the restraunt/bar. Shamara, Mya and one other girl (Pierre's cousin) so sorry I forgot your name.... LOVE YOU ALL!!!! Happy hour 12 and 5 you were the best!!!! We would absolutely stay here in the future :)|P.S. In an American standards this hotel is a 2 stars hotel but served our purpose of spending one night before checking into next door sandals. The AC was leaking all night and was not cooling the place sufficiently and the bathroom/shower are very outdated. The room needs deep cleaning as well.

We have been going to this small hotel for many years. It is family owned and they make us feel like family every time we go. The staff is friendly and very responsive to our needs so that we feel looked after and safe. It is located in a lovely spot on the south coast in St Lawrence gap walking distance to a small grocery store and restaurants. Right on the beach. Two pools. The rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette with stove top, small fridge, microwave and dishes and pots and pans. Safe key available. They are well maintained and recently renovated. Every yr we meet people we know from previous yrs who return -like us- year after yr. There is a small restaurant attached to pool area where you can go for a nice meal if you don’t choose to cook or go out. We highly recommend Dover Beach Hotel. 😊

Well kept property with nice amenities. Loved the pool in the garden area for my family. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely book for longer next time. Breakfast on mornings was really nice and the view from the deck was amazing with welcome breeze.

A lovely quiet hotel. Nice long beach. Very clean. Friendly staff that doesn’t change. Excellent location in the St. Lawrence Gap within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Hotel guests that return year after year. Great place!
