HO JIA RUN

Hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere – loved the surprise of fairy lights and rustic design. Staff were very friendly. We tried several dishes: • Hawaiian Holiday Pizza – thin base, pineapple and fresh basil gave it a nice twist. • Seasonal Risotto – creamy with mushrooms, peas, and truffle, comforting and rich. • Chargrilled Scotch Fillet – juicy and tender, perfectly cooked with caramelised onions. • Slow-Cooked Pork Belly – soft, flavorful, balanced by crispy potatoes. Dessert: When I entered, I saw three versions of tiramisu in the display – one looked appetizing, one looked collapsed and unappetizing, and there was also a big glass container holding what seemed to be fresh tiramisu. I didn’t plan to order it, but my friend did, and unexpectedly we were served the unappetizing one. Eating it gave the impression that it wasn’t fresh, especially since newer and fresher-looking ones were clearly on display. I’d suggest more care with presentation, or simply not serving a portion if it doesn’t look right. It would be much better if only the fresh and appealing portions were served, as presentation really affects the dining experience. Overall, food was delicious, staff lovely, and atmosphere unique – just a little more care on dessert would make it 5 stars.

Very poor service. We visited on Wednesday night at 6:30pm. The outside courtyard is absolutely freezing and most of the heaters were not on. We did ask a few times and after about 45min someone finally turned on the one over our table. Something so simple that could have been done in a minute if this place was run properly. We waited over 1 hour for our food. We had to go inside and ask and we were told they lost our food order. We would have just left, but of course we had already paid with the QR code and waited so long. All the staff seem to be very young girls who have no basic training and no one managing the restaurant. Save yourself the trouble and just eat and a local pub.

Had such a yummy dinner! We weren't sure where to go for dinner and we met Clarissa at Jimmy's when we ordered coffee (good coffee btw). She was able to point us to Down the Lane. Really impressed with the GF options. Great team and Clarissa is really friendly and helpful. The two teenagers where impressed with their meals. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Tasty and very satisfying. Thanks team. Would definitely come back if we came to Dubbo again.

Please reconsider going here. The reviews are outdated, the food looks nothing like the advertisement. Thinking we were going to have a nice dinner after seeing the higher rating we were very disappointed with the equivalent of Coles pizza bases with shocking toppings and bland cocktails. (Please see photos of the dots in the crust which look all too familiar). The entrees we got (chips and calamari) were decent but we wish we stopped at that. Sad to say it seems the only thing they were able to do was deep fry. We felt bad giving feedback to the wait staff when paying as it wasn’t their fault but for the $$$ price we would rather have gotten Maccas expecting a terrible meal than having such high expectations and being sorely let down. It’s a shame because the space itself is actually really pretty and had a musician playing but missed the mark with the food. We ended up leaving majority of our meal on the table… and then actually getting maccas on the way home.

Shift into a relaxed vibe at DTL with delightful live music. The menu caters to all tastes with amazing pizza, pasta, and salads. Tempt yourself with their cocktail menu and save room for dessert! Friendly and engaging service.

Great food, great service, great spot. We started with the tempura battered cauliflower bites which were incredible. We then moved on to the risotto and a prawn pizza. The risotto was perfect consistency and great flavour. The pizza base was light and crunchy and the toppings were well balanced. The service from start to finish was first class. Well done Down The Lane you are my new Dubbo favourite.

Great spot in Dubbo. We came here for a midweek dinner, the staff were friendly, fast and very keen to ensure we had a good time. The arancini balls were a highlight!
