15 Best Airbnbs in Berlin, From a Houseboat to a Five-Bedroom Penthouse | Condé Nast Traveler

"Wrapped in distressed walls of soft green, blue, and dusty rose, with colorful chairs and eclectic wall hangings, this spacious one-bedroom feels like living inside a painting—albeit one with solid Wi-Fi and modern comforts. Set in the heart of Mitte’s boutique, bar, and restaurant scene and close to U-Bahn and tram connections, it can sleep up to five thanks to foldout beds in the living room, and the bathroom includes a welcome tub for a relaxing soak." - Liz Humphreys, Nathalie Meier-Scupin

We had a great experience - check in went well and was super friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great. While this was in a more residential feeling neighborhood, there were several ways to catch the train nearby to get wherever we needed in the city. Several restaurants and grocery stores were within walking distance, and more was accessible via the public transit system that was always quick and got us everywhere we needed to go.

We stayed here for 3 nights 6/11 to 9/11/24, it presents as new and the apartment was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Room are large with high ceilings and many window. Service was very friendly, checking in was straight forward with helpful advice on local cafes, restaurants. Location is outstanding being a maximum of 30 min walk from the main attractions of Berlin. Having traveled by international train into Berlin we caught the tram (think that #8,10,12) all stop immediately outside the apartment complex. There is a S line train station (Nordbahnhof) is also directly opposite. Along with a bus route as well. It is just incredibly convenient and well located. For anyone doing extended travel there is a free laundry located onsite, which is a great bonus. The only downside I could think of might be the dull noise from the trams, but this is an incredibly well located apartment and if that is the trade off, then I would gladly pay it again. Highly recommended staying here and hope to visit again in the future.

I booked online direct with the website which was very easy. Good instructions on how to do self checkin, which we needed as we were arriving late, and it all worked as described. The apartment itself (Bright Outlook) was on the 4th floor at the back overlooking a park so very pleasant, and looked exactly like the photos on the website. The bed was comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed. It was clean and quite modern. The location was also fantastic as it was opposite a subway station that we used a bit, a tram stop right out front, good coffee shops and restaurants as well as supermarket nearby. I would highly recommend these apartments!

Great hotel and service. Free laundry in the basement was a big plus. Only critique is the sound of the trains, that was really loud even with doors and windows closed. It sounded like the trains ran through the apartment. Not a place for light sleepers. We stayed on the second floor

The IXL Apartment exceeded our expectations in every way - the photos on the sites (& here) don't really do it justice - & we absolutely loved our stay. |The staff were fantastic: all helpful & friendly - giving us directions, restaurant tips etc - they worked hard to make our visit go well. Thanks to them all, especially to Alisa who always had a smile: welcoming us back in the afternoons, keen to chat about where we'd been (she made our trip to Berlin even more special with her knowledge & charm). |The Apartment is large (3 bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms - with walk-in showers & a bath in the main one, a guest loo, kitchen, utility room, open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen area, 2 balconies & a long, wide hallway) & the décor is stunning. Large full-length windows give you an all-round view of the immediate area, with comfy sofas & tub chairs to sit in to enjoy them. All of the soft furnishings in the Apartment are of very good quality. The beds are big & comfy - plenty of spare bedding if needed. There's a large balcony area outside of bedroom 1, with top-spec furniture & incredible views, & there's a second, smaller balcony outside bedroom 2 with a cute bar-style table & chair set. |The kitchen was immaculate & fitted with all of the facilities you'd expect. The bathrooms were stunning - a joy to use - with wonderful luxury toiletries to enjoy. |Other thoughtful features in the Apartment: a brilliant air-conditioning system (which was most welcome as temperatures reached 102° in the shade while we were there!); a utility room (with airers, iron, laundry basket etc); waiting for us in the fridge were some bottled water & some wine; the building has a large & fast elevator to take guests up to the top floor; plenty of large fluffy towels in abundance; sewing kits; high quality glassware & stylish crockery & great WIFI etc. On-site we also had access to handy laundry facilities. |As far as location, the Apartment looks out over a small park in one direction & also enjoys far-reaching views of the city. The immediate area has a relaxed atmosphere & lacks the bustle & crowds found more centrally - this was important to us. However, we were still just a short tram or underground train ride away from all of the usual landmarks (Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Berlin Wall Memorial, Natural History Museum etc. & Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof) so it was quick & easy to get to wherever we wanted to go. We were close to many good restaurants; coffee shops, grocery stores etc. (& very near a lovely ice cream parlour - Eismieze which we visited most days!). ||We were sad to leave but have no doubts that we’ll return to this wonderful place.

The staff at reception was amazingly friendly and chatty. She gets our vote for the main reason why anyone should choose this property for their holidays in Berlin. She is also really knowledgeable and helpful in helping us get acquainted on our first day to Berlin. Downtown Apartments brand is really fortunate to get such a staff.||Location is perfect and its near to tram / S-bahn / U-bahn. Hence it can't get any better especially if you wish to avoid the absolute crowd of the city center. This hotel is situated in a relatively quiet area||There's a really amazing Vietnamese / Japanese fusion food nearby. Please try it. We actually went 3 times!||Some wonderful cafes are just around the corner too

Downtown Apartments exceeded our expectations in every way. The pictures don't really get across both how spacious the apartment is and how high spec it is. ||The decoration is superb - 'up-scale industrial' I was calling it - with lots of cool, quirky features. Also love the high resolution pictures dotted throughout of nearby landmarks, including one of the train station that's just over the road (which was super convenient for us).||That train station and the tram line might bother some, becase you do hear both, but for us they quickly became part of the background noise of the city and didn't disturb any of us at night. If you're a very light sleeper easily disturbed by outside noise then you might not be as lucky.||Everything was really clean. The views are excellent too, with nice balconies and plenty of windows (that are almost floor to ceiling), giving the apartment a nice airy feel.||All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made our trip that extra bit special. They were always happy to help and answer any questions you might have about the apartments or Berlin in general.||It's probably the best apartment/hotel we've ever stayed at and we'd love to return.

Very clean stylish apartment with a great bar downstairs! The staff is extremely friendly. Public transportation is across the street and only takes minutes to get anywhere in Berlin. If you enjoy history, it’s very close to the Berlin Wall memorial. Reasonably priced for the accommodations. We traveled with an 8 month old and they had a pack-n-play and high chair ready for our arrival. I highly recommend this place over a hotel!!
