Southwest Airlines' downtown Denver ice rink is a cool little setup at the corner of 16th Street and Arapahoe, at the base of the Daniels & Fisher (a.k.a. Clocktower Office) Building in downtown Denver, steps from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall. There are skate rentals and skating aids available, but it's free if you own skates. A tiny kiosk also sells warm beverages (coffee, hot chocolate, etc.). Depending on the day of the week, time of the day, etc. it can be VERY crowded or completely empty. Good for an hour or two of skating fun for self and/or your family, but it can get kind of crowded, esp. on weekends. Not bad for free, though!

We had a wonderful time with our family. The lights were beautiful at night and the crowd wasn’t too bad initially (we arrived around 7:30). However, it got fairly crowded around 8:30 and a bit crazier with teenagers taking a lot of falls. We had to get the kids off the ice at that point. The staff were really nice and they had plenty of skate rentals available and trainer sleds for the kiddos, which made it fun. There was also a small kiosk selling canned beer, wine, coffee, cider, and small snacks. Plenty of places for others to sit and enjoy outside the rink too.

We hosted my son's 6th birthday celebration here and the staff did a great job of giving him the most special day! He loved having the ice to himself before opening. This was one of few places I could find in Denver that had the flexibility to accommodate a group of kids and parents together for a reasonable price. The booking process was easy, the ice was smooth, and location couldn't be beat! The only downside was that is was about zero degrees, but the crew didn't have any control over that. We would absolutely book here again :)

We showed up at 935 on Saturday and they said no more skate rentals and we can have a coupon for another day

Went in soon after they opened at 10am (check their website for times). Ice was newly cleaned and only 3 people were on it. Decorations were cute but the rink was tiny!! And the rentals they had were really not great: they were full plastic casing, clip buckle style, not lace up, and hockey skates not figure skates, possibly with dull blades.

Located near the Westin Downtown.. this was a cool location for a free skating rink. You do have to pay a small fee to rent skates, but admission is free. So if you have your own skates, it’s absolutely free! Good music and vibes. We went here with a bunch of friends visiting from FL and they loved it! They have support tools that you can use if you’re new to skating and they always had workers on the ice to monitor. Lots of fun!

Lots of people but still alot of fun. Usually a beverage vendor out with hot drinks 🍸. The kids had a blast, so did I. But those ice skates always hurt my feet......

Just awful. The skates are broken and so dull you can’t even use them. My husband is an avid hockey player couldn’t skate with them at all. The first pair they gave him had a broken buckle. The employee just put them back on the shelf when he asked to exchange them. We did 1 lap holding onto the edge and went to talk to the employees about getting another pair or a refund. They were very rude just took our skates and said since we had been on the ice they wouldn’t refund us. Told us to bring our own skates next time. Would not recommend this place if you’re needing to use rentals, just skip it and save yourselves the money.
