Had a lovely dinner outside on the back deck while a jazz band was playing at the pavilion next door. Great views, great food and drinks, and great vibes! We were told we’d have to wait 30 minutes for an outdoor table at peak time on a Saturday night and it was only 15 minutes so not bad at all.

As year round residents, we’ve been here many times. I like it because the bar almost always has available seats regardless of day/time. Went in last night at 6pm with the wife. Bar completely empty. New bartender like usual here. Maybe it was her first time behind a bar. Ordered a couple 20oz beers. My beer was 1/3 head/foam. After we finished our beers we waited for her to eventually return. Ordered 2 more beers and dinner. While we waited, a customer came in for take out and mentioned it was the only place open tonight. Only place open in town, in the summer, and it’s empty? Yikes. My $22 burger came out and it looked sad. Wilted piece of lettuce - like they are trying to give you the least amount with the worst presentation. Dried up tomato. Waitress gave us 2 cocktail napkins each. Halfway through the “meal” i went hunting for real napkins and found them. Nobody said anything or seemed to care. There’s 4 TVs but the 2 in front of us were just turned off. No music. No people. No reason to come back. Not sure how this place stays open year round with this consistent combo of price, food and service. We left after eating.

Google
I saw some mixed reviews on this place but I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. I got the fish tacos, they were great. The fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside and the taco as a whole had great flavor. The service was great too, they were very friendly and accommodating. There is a nice deck out back to take in the views. Great place to get some food

Google
Downtown Grill in Wolfeboro, NH, is a delightful spot with super friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The food is good, though a bit on the pricey side. Over 20 dollars for a burger and frys. However, what you're really paying for is the amazing scenery and the cool, laid-back atmosphere that makes every visit special. I'd imagine it's a really fun place to party. I plan on coming back this summer!

Google
The restaurant offers an amazing atmosphere, perfect for those looking for a pleasant and welcoming experience. The food is extremely tasty, with well-prepared dishes and great presentation. The service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall comfort of the guests. And to top it all off, the view is simply spectacular, a true highlight that makes the visit even more special. I highly recommend it

Google
Such a great place to meet with friends, or make new ones. Atmosphere is fantastic, food is great and staff is amazing and fun. Now featuring Country Night every Friday...Y'All....

We love watching all the boating activity while we wait and eat. Very entertaining. Busy Saturday but overall good service, we've tried all three of the restaurants on the water right there and i liked this one the best for best choices overall for food especially for locals. the server was great especially for being so busy! I Had the chicken sandwich, very crispy good flavor and large portion of chicken which was excellent! Others had pepperoni flatbreads which were good size and they enjoyed them very much. looked to be fresh crust, Clam chowder was fresh and very tasty. Very clean inside and out, bathrooms super clean ss well! Give it a try!

Google
Ordered the brisket sandwich but honestly could not eat it. The sauce had run all over the serving tray. The top of the bun and French Fries were soaked in sauce. The bottoms of the bun had turned to mush. There was no way you could eat it as a sandwich. I tried to eat it open faced but the diced brisket was well-done and dry. The sauce was salty and the pickled onions were so salty they burned. The fries that were not soaked in sauce were good; I ordered them well done. My mixed drink was good but I had to ask for a side glass of ice to keep it cold. The wait staff was nice but not sympathetic. Great location in Wolfboro bay but there are better places to be on the water and get good food. Taking this one off our list.

Yelp
Sorry no pictures, while we stopped in for a walking through town break and a small bite. I want to say things were great but they were actually just okay and not memorable. Nothing exciting to report for me here but I'm sure this spot is someone's go to place. We went a few months ago and I had honestly forgotten I "checked in" and it was that much of an impact.

Yelp
A good option for standard burger fare with an excellent view! Bloody Mary for starters was great and a nice treat - followed by a big juicy burger! The side of house chips was a bit over done and smashed into crumbs but still fine. You can't beat the back deck view though which is why we picked this place. Service was good as well. I'd recommend!

Yelp
This is a very solid restaurant: good food, good service, and a great view of the lake, When Marker 21 and Wicked Loon were full on the most beautiful day of the fall, we were able to score outdoor seats at the Grill. Did not know (they need to change their marketing, advertising) that the upstairs is a very well laid-out and cool sports bar. We had burgers, beers, Turkey cranberry sandwiches, fries-- all excellent. would go back for breakfast and a football game. This place does not get enough credit.

Heather C.

Yelp
This restaurant is understaffed. The night people are not doing their share of the work by not cleaning the restroom, and leaving product out. Our waitress was amazing as she tried to wait on people and fix things not done the night before. My food was good but my husband was disappointed as the ham didn't taste right and the tots were cold. We will try again another day for lunch.

Michael J.

Yelp
The service was good. The location is great. That's the good news. The chowder was probably the worst I have ever had. The Bloody Mary had garlic in it. The coffee was cold. The chicken fingers should have stayed on the chicken. The downstairs was closed and we had to sit on the 2nd floor with more TVs than customers. Bring back the old owners!!

Jane A.

Yelp
We miss the old Downtown Grille. This is bland, average, corporate. Meh. Still has the lovely view but sooo Not the hometown team. So bummed. We waited 2 years for this?!

Susanna G.

Yelp
This place recently opened. clam chowder was good but everything else was terrible. Caesar salad was tasteless, meatloaf was so salty and flooded with gravy that I could not even eat it without having high blood pressure, and hot dog didn't taste like it was good quality meat. Parmesan chicken wings were so burnt, you could not eat it. There does not seem to be any quality control over the food leaving the kitchen. I wasted 100 bucks for this food that we could not eat. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Delicious and quick! My turkey cranberry sandwich is so good. And the staff is friendly.

Yelp
The new Downtown Grille isn't anything like the old one it is sadly lacking. The new decor is nice & the beautiful view is great but the service was very poor. We went for breakfast on 10/25/24. It wasn't crowded I think there were just 2 other tables occupied. The waitress was very friendly but it was all down hill after that. Took several minutes to get a decafe & a tea. We ordered eggs toast home fries & a muffin. The muffin was good, the eggs were done perfectly the home fries were terrible. Where was the toast & more coffee? Told the waitress that the home fries were not good & asked for our toast more coffee & a glass of water. She brought more home fries which were better they are just frozen little diced potatoes. She never brought more coffee or water & the toast was brought out after we were done. It couldn't be called toast because it wasn't toasted & the butter didn't melt on it. We won't be going back.

Yelp
With the reopening, nearly all the gluten free options are gone which is very unfortunate. We used to love the Belgian waffle, English muffins and sandwiches. However, the wait staff and manager are excellent. Just disappointed with my limited options now. No longer a casual, take out place...they seem to be catering to more of an upscale clientele.

Mark H.

Yelp
No issues with the newly designed interior or awesome wait staff but I ordered eggs over easy that were over hard, hash was partly cooked, home fries were moist and mushy soft and wheat toast was like a rock. Very disappointed for a place that was our go to when heading into town especially when they offered take out. Oh yeah! Very nice table service!

Yelp
I had a fly in my coffee, and the response by Downtown Grille Cafe was even worse. Specifically the manager's response. After drinking my entire ice coffee, I noticed something dark at the bottom of my drink. When examining it further, there was an actual fly sitting inside. Immediately, I got into my car to head over to Downtown Grille Cafe and see what they would do. When arriving, it was abysmal. Instead of having the manager speak to me directly, they had a young girl deal with the issue on their behalf. At first she offered me money back for the 1 coffee (I had also bought 3 other coffees & 6 croissants). When arguing that I wanted a refund for the entire order, she proceeded to go back and speak with her manager. Long story short, she made 3 trips to see her manager in the back room while I was there and that same manager never once came out to apologize, hold responsibility, or take any action. Instead, they used this girl working for them as the "messenger" for which I feel bad for as it was not her fault. I understand that things happen and you cannot control everything, but you can control your response to an outcome like that. I'm appalled by the display of cowardliness and lack of empathy from their manager. Terrible!

Yelp
Great coffee house and breakfast place. Happened across this place. Breakfast crossiant sandwich and w Blueberry waffle.

Yelp
A breakfast gem in downtown Wolfeboro. Lovely place in downtown - many different options for coffee and specialty drinks and an assortment of breakfast options including omelets, breakfast wraps, breakfast sandwiches, and some muffins/pastries. The kids enjoyed French toast (two thumbs up), I had a croissant breakfast sandwich - the bacon was crisp and the croissant flaky. My husband had the omelet and really enjoyed it. A few outdoor tables overlooking the boat docks and several indoor tables as well. You won't be disappointed. It can sometimes get busy but they are pretty quick to take orders and bring you your food.

Yelp
Absolutely no complaints about the coffee we purchased at Downtown Grille Cafe. It looked like a fantastic place to eat and the menu really looked nice but we were just popping in for coffee (and the bathroom - which was also nice and clean). Staff were friendly and there was such a fun, relaxed vibe in the dining area. Downtown Wolfeboro in general was a fun find as I didn't realize it had so much going on - I would totally return and make time to eat here next visit!

Yelp
We went her for breakfast. Stepped in and you order your food & beverages at the counter. Then you are given cups to serve yourself at the beverage bar, a number for the table and find a table. They bring your food over. The coffee is very good. We chose a medium brew. I ordered rye toast, bacon & hash browns. Kenny ordered a western with rye toast. Both breakfasts were good. Busy place. Their bakery items looked amazing!

Yelp
Wanted to try a new spot and in a sandwich mood so we ended up here. Two paninis and two cookies later we were full and happy! Cuban and chicken/Brie paninis were very tasty with good fillings. They were a tad burnt though but actually the smoky taste wasn't bad! My molasses cookie was fantastic and if we weren't there at the end of the day, with only one left, I would've gotten more.

Yelp
Love love love this place. Service is fabulous, the food is fantastic! Everyone that works there is friendly!

Yelp
Been here a few times when we were in Wolfeboro. Awesome, modern cafe for a small town. They have great coffee and breakfast options. I usually go with the Monkey Mocha, which has a hint of banana. I've also really like their French Toasts. If you're lucky, you can get a table outside on the patio, which offers a beautiful view of the lake.

Yelp
Lured in by the expansive sandwich options, we headed over hungry and ready to chow down after our short hike at Mount Major. As soon as we sat down, we immediately noticed the amazing lake views from every angle of the dining room. On this visit, we opted for the California Cobb panini (no bacon) and the Portobello Mushroom wrap (sub blue cheese with mozzarella). Feedback on the panini was excellent and disappeared from his plate into his stomach in less than 10 minutes. However, my mushroom wrap (although super fresh with loads of healthy veggies) was served more as a cold sandwich than a "hot sandwich" as advertised on their menu so it was a bit unexpected. Overall, I loved the ambiance, the menu choices, the nice fireplace and the fact that they had both a full espresso and wine and beer bar. This restaurant totally oozes quintessential New England charm and I would most definitely visit again if I'm around this town again. Only thing I'd do differently is order the veggie burger!

Yelp
This breakfast place has been my favorite for about a year now.. I recently heard something about the restaurant going under new management but didn't think anything of it... gave it another try this morning and I'm very disappointed. 45 minutes to wait in line for my burnt bagel and a watery smoothie..
google avatar

Claire D.

Yelp
Sandwiches were great, locations great. How they serve etc is just weird. They have tons of employees but you have to order yourself and then go back and forth for more drinks etc. You would think the manager would just stick to a host/hostess and standard waitress style restaurant. It's almost like a cafeteria style deal. You also seat yourself which is kind of a pain especially when you have pushy old ladies who want your seat Lol.

Robert P.

Yelp
Horrible. Disorganized service. Long wait not a peak time. Covid has done a number on this place.

Jack P.

Yelp
After spending $42 for 2 sandwiches and 1 iced tea (including tip for no wait service) I asked for a refill on my iced tea on the way out and was told they would have to charge me! Seriously??? After spending $42 they wanted to charge me for an additional 6oz of plain iced tea?

Yelp
We stopped into the Downtown Grille Café at the suggestion of our host for the weekend. The setting was quite lovely - we sat on the deck with a view of the lake. It was a beautiful morning - crisp with bright sunlight. We were able to enjoy the boats and the antique car show that was going on. You order at a counter and they bring your food to you. We all ordered the same thing - Corned Beef Hash and Eggs served with toast. What a disappointment this was, the corned beef hash was cold, dry and was a recipe like no other we have ever had. The corned beef hash that we have had consisted of corned beef, potatoes, onions and seasonings. This corned beef has red peppers in it.

Yelp
This is an exceptional breakfast and lunch restaurant. The coffee and pastries are fantastic. I am a great fan of their muffins, especially their pistachio, which they will grill and butter. Portions of salads and sandwiches are generous and delicious. Gelato is also offered in many pleasing flavors. The seating is at lovely wood tables inside with large windows providing views of the next door park and Wolfeboro docks on Lake Winnipesaukee. The outdoor porch is surrounded by a glass railing for even sweeter views. You will love this place and want to linger a while to just relax and soak in the ambiance.
google avatar

Jae B.

Yelp
Their scones are so amazingly wonderful. If you order a muffin, they will cut it in half and grill it! Pretty special! Always great service, and such incredible views of Wolfeboro Harbor! This place takes great pride in the product that they serve.
google avatar

Cindi W.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast. It was "ok". The two tables available were dirty. I had one of the egg wraps with cheese, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. It was a bit watery but generous size. The hash Benedict was ok, but the hash was a teeny bit on the dry side. The other issue is the coffee condiments are only at the front of the building. Good in concept and ok for a drive by.

Heather D.

Yelp
Wow, talk about fabulous customer service! .We arrived just after they closed but didn't realize it, their door was unlocked. Was informed that they were closed so we left and walked around the corner. Owner came around the corner to get us and said he could make us cold sandwiches. We said perfect, ordered our late lunch and went and ate it at the waterfront. How many restaurants have you been to that does that!!! This is the place we come to most of the time and it never disappoints! Thank you for the hospitality and going above and beyond!
google avatar

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Have been there for breakfast and had an awesome omelet. Also get lunch for carryout a few times. Service is fast and friendly and the food is good. Fair warning though.. Do not get the double Cubano burger unless you're seriously hungry, that thing is massive, and so good you will finish it and then be too full to move!
google avatar

Jeffrey And Wife S.

Yelp
Astonished at the poor reviews! This has been our go-to lunch place for years. Food is consistently good, place is clean, dining room is sunny and airy, and staff are nice. Only drawback is they close at 2:00 p.m.
google avatar

Caroline H.

Yelp
Purchased a cup of medium roast coffee. Took 2 sips and had to throw it away. The most bitter, horrible coffee I have had in my entire life. Hopefully their other beverages aren't as rancid as this one.
google avatar

Tyler J.

Yelp
Great food wish they would open for dinner but other than that good food good customer service I was a joy go in there
google avatar

Paige D.

Yelp
The owner guy here is awesome and laid back. Seems to know most of the people who come into the cafe. Big fan of this place
google avatar

J N.

Yelp
Homemade muffins that can be grilled and butter? YES PLEASE! I love their cranberry orange and triple berry. Be sure to grab them early on in the day - it'll definitely brighten up your morning
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
I always suggest my clients to come here. It use to be a pharmacy with the entire lakeside section for storage. The owners knew that opening that part up and then adding a deck make it the most perfect setting for dining. Ad that the food is consistently interesting and excellent this is a must have place in your collection of eateries to go to.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about Downtown Grille Cafe. The goods: + Excellent, delicious food. I had the turkey cranberry panini with some sweet potato fries. Love it! + Reasonable prices + Pretty quick turnaround considering how busy they seemed. + Great location right by the town docks, so we drove over in our boat, tied up to the dock, and walked in for lunch. The not-so-goods: - Nowhere on the door outside, the big menu inside, the handheld menu, or the online menu does it say they only serve breakfast until 11 a.m. Makes for a frustrating change of expectations when your kids get excited about waffles. - The staff lacked enthusiasm and seemed annoyed that we were there. - The tables weren't wiped down between customers, so the empty tables had sticky remnants of the previous customers. In the end, the food was good enough that I would go back. I just wouldn't expect a warm welcome or clean tables. ...or breakfast.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
This is a cozy place with a beautiful view. There are three separated sections here and a fireplace sitting area as well. Very nice and cozy for a light meeting or serious homework. Lol. The drinks were great, service friendly and best of all is that the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely stop in again when I'm passing though. Enjoy!

Yelp
This place was rather shockingly nice, given the unassuming exterior. Interior is spacious and clean, the decor is nice. This place seems to have it all: Food (seemed like a good selection, and I enjoyed the fruit salad, which was fresh and had a good mix of things I like), coffee (really good), gelato (also great), and some options for wine, beer, and sangria (didn't try, but seemed like a decent selection), free wi-fi, good service. A great place for a meal, or just to escape the summer heat for a while and enjoy a drink and the lake-side view.

Sara J.

Yelp
I had such a bad experience I actually downloaded the yelp app for the first time just to bitch about it. Summary: -Rude staff who lack ability to function in society politely -Overpriced -Poor quality Details: Horrid experience here. We have been going here for years and the food has been getting worse and worse. $9 for small sandwiches that do not even include chips or a pickle. Once I ordered a salad and it came with less than a handful of lettuce for $11. Yesterday, it took a second phone call before one of their 5-6 employees answered to take my order (at 2pm which shouldn't have been a busy time). The. When I came to pick up my order, the staff was either working hard or 2-3 of them were just standing around. No one greeted me as I stood at the register. All ignored me as I awkwardly stared at them for over 5 minutes and could see my takeout order with my name on it sitting there. I finally had to ask for my food and the girl said "$27" (for 2 adult sandwiches and a kids grilled cheese) and then she failed to say "thank you" or "have a nice day", or anything pleasant at all. I wanted to order coffee as it usually is delicious there but I was so disgusted with them that we went down the street and bought it elsewhere.

Yelp
Stumbled on this gem while visiting Wolfeboro today. We wanted waterfront lunch with a great view and this cafe more than delivered! Fantastic view of Lake Winnipesaukee and next to a lovely shady park at the dock. So quaint and again, stunning views! We ordered the cranberry turkey wrap and it was served with homemade chips. Very good. Very friendly staff as well. The 5 stars is definitely for the views!

Yelp
I've stopped in here for the fresh brewed coffee and iced coffee. This cafe is very inviting with nice decor inside and an outside patio overlooking the bay. This is great place to relax and to take advantage of the free wifi. The service is prompt and friendly. The coffee here has a good flavor and brewed just right (not weak). I will continue to stop at Downtown Grille for my coffee fix whenever I'm in Wolfeboro. I'll have to try one of their breakfast wraps on my next vist.

Peter P.

Yelp
Very unsafe place. Most employees are not wearing masks. Also, customers are served who are not wearing masks. Food is very average. @James (09/10/2020): 1) When I visited your place there were two groups of customers not wearing masks. None of your employees asked them to put on masks or even offered them with any. 2) Think about it for a moment: You have an open kitchen and your staff is walking back and forth between the cash area and the kitchen area not wearing a mask. Do you think the virus will just stop spreading where the (open) kitchen area ends? This doesn't make any sense, sorry.
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
The best coffee for many MANY miles to the best of my knowledge. I suppose you could do better at some super bouchie place in NY but this is seriously good stuff. I have not eaten here yet but the sandwiches looked equally awesome. The best part about this place is that has all of the advantages of a modern contemporary cafe without spoiling any of the homie small town ambiance of Wolfeborro. It fits is perfectly and is a wonderful addition to the area. Their porch outback is the best lakeside dining view you will ever have. I intend to go back soon for breakfast. I think this will fill the breakfast void left when we lost Bailey's up town.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I hate giving three stars as my family loves this place. Food quality and selection is great. Service is lackluster, and cleanliness questionable. Views are nice, and interior unremarkable. Matter of fact we have come 20+ times and rarely is our order 100% correct. Muffins are delicious and great variety. LOVE the corned beef. Coffee is better than most places around, but, on a busy day, the staff can't seem to keep up with it. Never seem to get here for lunch but have heard good things. Could be four stars with some training and adult supervision.
google avatar

G M.

Yelp
Now this is more like it! Much nicer decor and larger seating area than the previous location. Much friendlier management and staff. Same great food and more. In the back they have huge windows overlooking the lake. Overall it has just a more comfy welcoming feel. It almost invites you to bring your favorite book and curl up in a chair, but I'm not sure how the staff would feel about that... Our only complaint might be pricing, especially the gelato.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Came to wolfeboro for a wedding and found ourselves reading reviews for a breakfast place. Let me say, I am incredibly CONFUSED at all of the five star reviews and the continuous line at the register. You walk in and order your food at a register where they give you a number for your table. It cost us 30$ for 1 Bloody Mary, 1 water, 1 omelette, 1 egg wrap. OK. That's fine, must be good-we thought. The Bloody Mary was so spicy I couldn't even drink it. Literally wasted. We sat down at a table and waited patiently. We received our food about 20 minutes later and were immediately disappointed. Milk carton eggs, cold English muffin, The wrap was meh, Poor quality. We LOVE going to brunch and enjoy the overall experience--this was not that. I truly dislike writing negative reviews but someone needs to talk about the real deal here.
google avatar

Devon R.

Yelp
Worth the wait! The line was long but moves relatively quickly and omg the food is delicious! We had breakfast food, I had a bacon egg and cheese croissant, the cold brew coffee is amazing too! My fiancé got the corn beef hash wrap, also amazing! Ambiance in the restaurant is really nice. People behind the counter were also very nice and prompt. Overall, lovely place we will be back again!

Yelp
Yummy breakfast and lunch, and nice view of the lake (plus outdoor deck). Just wish they were open for dinner -- they'd crush it, especially since they sell beer and wine (at least during the summer...)
