I met Michael Ferguson back in the summer of 2011. I had moved from NY to LA and was between jobs. With extensive time to look for a place to live, I invested some time searching for the best loft I could find downtown LA. I can say I entered at least 80% of the buildings in the fashion district that had units to rent at the time and consequently met the respective real state agents. I visited dozens of units. Three weeks later, after too many “not good enough” lofts visits, I was about to settle for a small loft and that’s when I heard back from LE and I decided to give it a shot. We met downstairs, we walked up to the unit and even before the door slam in my back, I knew that it was it. Paper work took place immediately, smoothly and I’ve been here since then.
If one may think that “it was luck”, here is what happened later: Half way between then and now, when my wife and I decided that would be good to live separate in downtown, I contacted Michael. He arranged a visit to a unit in a building I had previously been interested. The unit was very good and I could see myself living there. It didn’t happen that I had to move out of my current place, but those were the best two lofts I saw downtown, within the price range I was looking for.
