Downtown Lodge

We stayed here yesterday, Sept 22. The place was very clean!! (1)bedsheets and pillow feels smooth and smells clean. (2) many things to entertain self, they have basketball ring, table tennis, billiards, etc. (3) they allow you to borrow two beautiful bikes for free for 1 hour. (4) free tasty breakfast was great (5) our room got upgraded without additional fees (5) very near to cable car station and restaurant (6) affordable/budget price to stay 👍

It was a very good surprise when we arrived at the Downtown Lodge Hostel. We book a double room at last minute and it was exactly what we expected. We shared a bathroom with another 3 rooms with no trouble at all. The staff was very friendly and offered a very good breakfast! Staying at the Lodge we had free access to the swimming pool at the Sportszentrum, which was a big plus after a day of snowboarding. Would certainly recommend!

We stayed at Downtown Lodge for three nights. Place has shared bathroom and showers - not really a problem since it was kept clean. Room was fine - nothing much, standard for hostel. Breakfast was standard, again standard for hostel. Location and the helpful employees were the things that stod out. Thank you! Most definitely would I recommend this place.

It was our first stay in a hostel and the overall experience was positive. We had a room for 4 people which was perfect for us with 2 kids. Washrooms were always clean and also the room was clean and big enough for us. We have been served with complementary breakfast which was a big plus. The central location of this lodge is a big advantage, especially the bus station in front of it makes life easy. The lodge has lots of various nearby restaurants and shops, particularly a Migros supermarket is the life saver. The staff is very friendly and helpful. An added plus are the benefits such as free entry at the indoor pool, free bus rides and discounts on cablecar tickets. The only criticism I could write is that the washrooms are pretty cold in winter. Other than that I can definitely recommend this place.

I was there for August 1st with 2 girlfriends (all the 3 of 36 years old). When we booked one week ahead, very few accommodations were available.||The downtown lodge is pretty fair in terms of price for the services.||It is wery well located in the village;||It has good beds / nice clean rooms; It was nice as well to have showers for girls only We did not even know that the breakfast was included. The staff was pretty friendly, and the fact that we could park inside (6 CHF / day) was very convenient.

we stayed there for 3 nights in a private room for two people. The shower, toilet and kitchen is shared with others. Breakfast is included and you can have a hair dryer if you leave deposit. They have free wifi but the signal is not quite stable. The room is clean and simple, nothing to complain and fair for the price. (according to swiss price standard) The location is very convenient, just 5-7 min waking from Grindelwald train station with two super markets on the way.

Upon our arrival receptionist Daniel provides us warm welcome with big smile. The location is great and the room is clean. Marlis is very cute and update us about the mountain weather condition to ensure we have a perfect trip. Overall they are the best receptionists we met in Switzerland!

we stayed for one night on the way back from jungfraujoch. We bought grocery from the street across and cooked our own food in the kitchen of the lodge and had a hearty meal suiting to our indian taste buds. the staff is helpful and polite. Loved the kitchen and the common areas. we were 3 of us. we had booked a private room. Free parking was available.
