Right from booking on Wotif.com to checkout, the staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
The room was clean, tidy, well lit, although the single beds pushed together were a let down (the only let down)
Even the cleaners were polite, helpful and chatty. I know right! Probably a first!
Our room package included breakfast and I'm glad it did. We came downstairs after recovering from a 8 hour drive and mistakingly taking on the barrage of restaurant staff on Lygon St, to find a menu for a hot breakfast and everything from fruit, cereal, breads, juices, tea, coffee.... Pretty anything you could think of for a light breakfast was right there, and the waitress was very polite and cheerful.
The reception staff were very professional too.
We didn't pay huge money because of the early bird deal we got on Wotif, but we felt like we were given just as good of a deal as those booking directly through the motel!
And at over $100 less for 3 nights than the Grand Chancellor on Lonsdale.... A whole 4 blocks away, we will take this over there any visit!
Unlike the Grand Chancellor, there is free wifi, and the pass key for that is written on the envelope with our room key! And the $20/day for parking is more than reasonable too.
Being easy to access was great too at the end of a long trip. Pretty much just followed the highway in made a turn and there we were.... Brilliant! And it is no more than a 20 minute stroll from pretty much anything to be seen in the Melbourne CBD.... For price service and location, we probably couldn't find much better on a tight budget
