"Take Flight at This Contemporary Art Museum Prague is one ofEurope’s centers of culture, but it was without aproper contemporary art center for far too long. In2008 the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art opened, with exhibits ofprovoking art, educational and cultural events, and amission to encourage critical reflection and dialogue through the presentation of works that speak to social issues of the day. The 32,000 square foot building, converted from a former factory by architect Ivan Kroupa, is a work of art in itself. And even if you tried to, you can’t miss Gulliver, a wooden zephyr-like airship that appears to have landed on the roof (it is used for literature-focused events.). Back inside, DOX also boasts one of the city’s best design shops and a cafe."
"If you're into contemporary art, I recommend visiting DOX: Center for Contemporary Art in Holešovice as a standout venue in the neighborhood's cultural scene." - Matthew Kepnes
A truly unique experience and museum in Prague and Western Europe. I've been there several times and have always been able to discover something new. The price is quite high for Prague, but it's worth the money!
The wooden airship in the center of the museum is particularly beautiful. The beanbags are a wonderful place to relax.
The coffee also offers a great experience. The coffee is good and the cakes are uniquely good!
I will definitely come back here to enjoy the museum again and discover something new.

The building had a cool design, and I liked one of the special exhibits (orhan pamuk), who focused on art related to where he is from (turkey). The other exhibits i found too quirky, and navigating the building was a bit odd. Yes I know contemporary is always a bit quirky but don't think others intentionally try to confuse you in navigation.
Ticket price for quality/quantity of exhibits wasnt as good. Probably wouldn't repeat if im back in town

I loved my visit to DOX! The building itself is amazing – a former factory turned into this bright, creative space with hidden corners and open halls. Walking through felt a bit like exploring, which I enjoyed.
The exhibitions were thoughtful and sometimes challenging, but never boring. I especially liked how interactive some pieces were – it really pulls you in rather than just looking at art from a distance. The highlight for me was stepping onto the rooftop to see the Gulliver airship, which feels surreal and playful at the same time.
Afterwards I relaxed in the café with a coffee and browsed the design shop – both are worth a stop. It’s not as crowded as other museums in Prague, which made the experience feel calmer and more personal.
Tip: check the current exhibitions before you go, and give yourself a couple of hours to really enjoy the space. For me, it was one of the most memorable parts of my trip.

A brilliant contemporary art museum. I went for the David Lynch exhibition Up in Flames which was beyond all expectations. Soooo good. Art, photography, video, items.
There were some fantastic art installations and also many other exhibitions such as Orhan Pamuk's The Consolation of Objects which was fascinating and such a surprise. I'm now a big fan and I hadn't been aware of his novels before this. What a welcome break this is from the busy centre! You can get a tram directly to the area.
Also they have a cloakroom so great if you have any travel luggage with you.

Amazing gallery! It was my 1st time there yesterday, and I visited yo see the Orhan Pamuk exhibition but one ticket covers all the current exhibitions, so it was a nice chance to see different art styles. Very large area of art pieces and lovely staff, they were so nice and helpful. Will be there again 😊

Not my first visit of this museum. I've visited it for the first time 4 years ago i think and back then i liked exhibitions more than this time. This time only some of them were interesting. Others were meh. But still, i like this museum quite a lot.

Yelp
The artists on exhibition will greatly influence your experience in the contemporary art museum. The current show was intellectually stimulating and visually convincing. Two concurrent exhibitions running on themes of social power dynamics caught my eye. Badiucao, principally a graphic artist with a retrospective containing mixed-media. The other is a group show of artists around the world. Two buildings with two outdoor areas.

Yelp
L O V E this gallery. There's a Peter Siś exhibit, as well as other interactive exhibits to spend the majority of our day absorbing.
Pros:
- very open space and the exhibits let's people of all ages engage in their own ways
- not super touristy, many young families or what seems like locals passing through on the weekend
- outdoor patio of the cafe is relaxing and the drink options are plenty (kombucha/coffees/sodas,etc.)
- very kid friendly, play area by the cafe
Notes:
- it's warm in there because of the open natural light pouring in through the windows, check in that jacket- it's free
- make sure to pass by the shop at the end, there are boxes below the display tables that contain merchandise that's on sale or discounted

Yelp
Fun, unique museum in Prague with interactive exhibits. The museum is filled with contemporary art pieces that effectually either reflect or criticize modern social norms.
The museum is a bit confusing in terms of the layout, and many areas seemed to be closed off during our visit (nov 2018) - however, we still had a blast.
Along with a terrace, there is also a nice museum to grab coffee and snacks. We spend a solid 1.5 hours there, although I'm sure you can spend much longer.
If you're in Prague and you've checked out all the normal tourist attractions, I'd definitely recommend this museum.

Yelp
a bit disappointed, make sure you check out what they have on the exhibits before you come. I came when they did a really weird baby things. Not a fan of it. Other than that, cool building and really interesting shoe man on the wall.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this contemporary art museum when I was there. If you want to get away from the long lines and and you appreciate modern art, this is worth a visit.

Yelp
Just what you would expect from a center for contemporary art - great exhibitions, beautiful space, lovely cafe and super expensive gift shot. Definitely worth a visit at least once, though I like to go regularly so I can catch the different exhibitions - I'm never disappointed :)

Yelp
I discovered a very curious contemporary art museum on the outskirts of Prague, with a strong curation of artwork.
