Quite honestly the rudest and most frustrating encounter with the female cashier there. The selection is fine but avoid coming here if you don't want a headache. She enjoys wasting other people's time.

Terrible customer service. Just lost a long time customer. I have purchased many bottles of wine there. Today after spending approximately $100 on 6 bottles when I said I had my own bag the salesman didn't lift a finger to bag it. Just stood there. No one else was in the store so it wasn't because he was pulled away or had others to ring up. What happened to treating your customers like you appreciate their business? Gone with the wind. So I am gone too!

This was a great local wine store. Selections from around the globe, price points from bargain to top notch cult wines. Prices were retail average, but hey NY rent ain't cheap. Stopped in to grab a couple of bottles while staying with in-laws. The front entryway is flanked by a wine barrel and there, directly in front of the door is a staff member smoking a cigarette. Rubs it out on the barrel and holds the door for me. Nice gesture. But between her overpowering perfume and ashtray aroma, I was truly grossed out. Did my shopping, held my breath at checkout. Owner needs to get a handle on employee practices.

My last experience here was disappointing. The guy at the counter seemed not to like his job, and it was clear he didn't want to be there. I will go somewhere else instead in the future.

I came here one day and met the owner and we had a nice talk about wine, tequila and scotch. I purchased a few items and he had his delivery person (Francisco) bring them over. The store is clean with friendly associates and they always have fair prices. I stopped going to my liquor store of 32 years to support them. THAT SHOULD TELL YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!

I'm not too familiar with wine and liquor prices in the city, but I think Dr. Wine has competitive prices. The selection is pretty extensive here and they carry both wine and hard liquor. In my experience, the staff has been very knowledgable and helpful. They'll even wrap up your purchase for you if you tell them it's for a party (cellophane, ribbons, and a gift bag!). No extra charge! There is a 10% hospital employee discount, so make sure you take advantage of that if it applies to you!

I come here all the time since it's close to where I live. I even have a rewards card. They have a decent selection of wine and liquor all accurately priced. They keep the higher priced bottles higher on the shelves and the lower priced bottles lower. They also have a refrigerator in the back if you're looking for cold wine or champagne. They wines are on the right when you walk in and liquors on the left. This place is perfect when you need to run in quick and grab something.

Great selection, a little pricey however the location calls for it. They have everything I need. Customer service is top notch. Very helpful staff and they deliver. I have never been let down. They could use more pinnacle flavors, otherwise they have what you need.

Spent over 5 minutes looking at wines in an empty store and no one came up to me, offered to help me or even acknowledged my existence. Not worth it despite being so close to my building.

Do not order for delivery. After 2.5 hours of never coming I had to cancel. Ridiculous.

I live about a block from Dr. Wine, but it's the helpful staff (ask for Mike specifically) and the excellent deals on champagne that have kept me coming back. They had Veuve Cliquot for $37, a miracle for the Upper East Side. They're also open a bit later than the other wine stores and they deliver.

Every block in the Upper East Side seems to have a wine store but Dr. Wine sets itself apart with fair prices and a decent selection of wines and liquors. The wines are organized by region and the prices are listed on the shelf. The selection of liquor covers everything mainstream you can think of.

They offer discounts for hospital employees. The woman behind the counter said "we know you all work hard and this is our way of thanking you." Wow! I've always had great experiences with the people that work there and their wine selection is great. Definitely the most friendly liquor store in the area!

The selection of wines here isn't bad but it's also nothing to write home about. You can usually find a pretty good deal on a bottle near the door but other than that this store is fairly pricy. If you're looking for liquor, make this your "emergency" stop as you're going to pay 40-50% more here than other stores. With that being said, management is friendly and helpful and they offer free delivery if you live close enough.

The best liquor store in the UES. Everything in the store is so clean and organized and because of the size, the store is not overwhelming at all. Great prices and friendly staff make the already cheap prices seem even better. So glad this place moved in so close to us!

Was excited to see a new wine store open around the corner since the schlep factor really puts a damper on one's ability to stock up! Stopped in yesterday and they had a solid selection of wine & liquor with friendly un-pretentious staff who weren't trying to sell you the most expensive bottle in the place. Good specials, got 6 bottles of basic BYOB sushi / ordering-in variety white for $60 - several of them were on sale but the regular prices seemed very reasonable compared to other wine shops on the UES. Beautiful store too! Welcome to the neighborhood :-)

I'm writing this review more as a bookmark to remind myself to do all my wine and champagne shopping here!! Walked by and saw a very nicely decorated window w Veuve clicquot champagne. Walked in and shocked by the price! $40... After I just paid $50 for the same bottle of champagne last week. The sales associates inside were very nice and told me they deliver anywhere in Manhattan. The store was very well kept. Looks like a treasure in the upper east side where everything else tends to be overpriced. Yeay for finding a go to wine place in Manhattan!

Pros: - huge selection of most middling-premium liquors, especially cognac - typically has the best price for Veuve Clicquot in the UES ($40-45) - great rewards card and discounts - friendly/helpful staff (in carrying liquor/wine bottles, call-in orders, and deliveries!) - weekly wine tastings! Cons: - scotch section needs a revamp -- not nearly enough variety nor range of price-points Bottomline: Dr. Wine is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.

Again. I'm so harsh on NYC. Nothing to toot home about. Your standard wines, arranged by country. Okay prices. Glitzy outside, cheap(er) Veuves as everyone said, which is a plus. No beer. Duh-they doctor on wine!

Expected better customer service especially since I have been going there for the last few years. It was nice that the prices were reasonable and it was right in my neighborhood. I'm surprised at how condescending the manager was to me. Get your wine at trader Joe's where even with delivery it is cheaper and the people far nicer.

Very clean and organized. Love the fact that they carry what I need and it's near by . I get my scotch and wine here. Staff is friendly as well.

Best place ever! Always deliver within 15 or so minutes (I've only ever gotten delivery never been to the actual store) prices are well below other places near me and so polite when you call. So happy this place exists!!

Dr Wine has gotten so much better the lady in the front is very helpful and well informed. She makes shopping very easy. I will become a loyal customer here.

Finally we have a unique place around my neighborhood, friendly people, knowledgeable, clean and organize and Mr. Friendly is a gem and a very positiive asset to the business. Love the attitude of the staff. My Oyster Bay is always available and the price is right.

Some decent prices but the management leaves a lot to be desired. Their reward program is confusing at best and they aren't good at keeping your information on file.

This place used to be my go-to. Bought a decently expensive bottle of wine that was completely corked. Treated very rudely. Needless to say, I will certainly be finding a new wine store.
