Dragon Dive Komodo : Dive Resort

Did my Open Water course at Dragon Dive Komodo with James who is an amazing instructor! Super chill and patient, explains things really well, and makes sure you feel safe the whole time. Had so much fun, and saw a manta on my first ever dive, pretty hard to beat!! Ended up staying on for some fun dives after my course and had a great time. The whole team in the dive shop and on the boat is friendly. Safety is prioritized for all diver on the boat. Just some small improvements:the wetsuits could be in better condition, the food on the boat is pretty basic, and one of the boats felt a bit crowded during the first few days of diving (though another one was in repair while I was there). In general, awesome shop, great vibe, and unforgettable diving, I would definitely recommend!

Definitely going with Dragon Dive Komodo again in my next trip! Did a 8D7N dive-and-stay package (18 scuba dives) with them. Having been diving for years in many different countries across Asia, I can confidently say that I have one of the best experiences with Dragon Dive Komodo. Safety: Highly prioritised for all the divers and their team. Boat intro done daily and dive briefing done before every dive ensuring that everyone is well aware of the the safety measures. They never fail to emphasise on important information (e.g. missing diver procedure, low on air procedure, etc.) and welcome clarifications. I rented some gear (BDC, reg, dive comp) with them and all were in good serviceable conditions. They also were careful in handling my own dive equipment. I recall an instance when my dive group was consuming air much quicker than I did, they had another DM to surface with them so that I and some others could carry on our dives safely. really 5-star in the way they conduct their diving business. Accommodation: Good location, short walk to the harbour and to the main street where most of the shops, restaurants, cafes are located. Stayed in a private room, which was well equipped good flushing, strong shower pressure and good AC. Sheets were fresh and tidied daily. A security guard is on duty every night to guard the compound. Service: The accommodation staff, dive guide and boat crew carry good command of English, amongst other languages, and were articulate in communication. Expectations and relevant costs were clearly communicated. They were meticulous in providing service, even in the little things (e.g. giving recommendations on activities/food, helping to arrange airport transfers, checking in on how the dives felt, etc.). Everyone was generally friendly, approachable and genuinely helpful. A shoutout to some of the staff and dive guides/DMTs who made my stay really enjoyable, and made it harder for me to end my trip: James, Karin, Sarah, Leo, Marsel, Rudiy, Moggy, Tian, Stefan, Geri, Felix, William ... So many more people but their names escape me. BIG THANK YOU! Areas for improvement: - Some parts of the accommodation is under renovation so it might get a little dusty and messy around. I'm sure that things will definitely be better after the works are completed. The restaurant is also not in operation so breakfast is only provided on the boat. As for the fitness space provided, it's really barely equipped and maintained, but to be fair, that's not their main business. - Some of the misc. costs (e.g. rental fees, marine park fees, etc.) had to be paid strictly in cash, even though I could pay the balance for my dive-and-stay package using credit card. - In order to have things done efficiently, the boat and dive crew would be super focused on clearing out the boat at the end of the day. But it is a little awkward for the whole group to just disperse at the pier without a closing dressing after disembarkation. Didn't really give us divers (and I say this for some other divers whom I've met on my trip) an opportunity to full appreciate the team at the end of the day.

I did not stay at the resort, so this review concerns only the dive center. The dive masters were really nice and helpful, i had Marsel and Mogi (hope i spelled them correctly🤞🏼). They helped me burn my mask as it was getting foggy, they were showing lots of marine life underwater and they were overall attentive. Saras were also nice on the boat and replying to my questions and helping out! One less positive aspect was the boat itself, it needs some maintenance and better time organization. The boat was late one morning because of technical issues, and another day there were delays because of the little space available for docking the boats in the harbor. Regardless of the delays and wait time, we enjoyed amazing dives in cool dive sites! The design of their tshirts is very nice, i bought one! The dive equipment is in a good state and the dive masters are setting up everything on the boat for you, you only need to buddy check. They provide sunscreen on the boat, which is cool. But the best thing was the local tiger balm Geliga which works wonders for opening up the ears and making equalizing easier! Thank you for this life hack!! Other points justifying the 4 star review: •wetsuits with some holes (but i guess its common in dive centers) •having to pay in full in order to book the dive online (usually you can pay a % in order to book your spot and the rest when you check-in) •creating groups of a mix between advanced and open water (luckily the best diving in the area is shallow, so we were not missing out on anything in the deep) - fast air consumption of someone in my group, but luckily my dive master assigned me to another group underwater so i could continue my dive while they ended their dive earlier (thank you Sara for letting me tag along!)

Was planning to take advance course since my last dive about 6 years ago. I explained my current situations with the staffs and William as the owner. William suggested me to do a refresh on my first day, then do 1 day of fun dive the second day, then start the course on the third day. Really appreciate his technical and wise advice. The instructor was professional and detail oriented, also I would like to give credit to all the boat staffs and crews, they were amazing, friendly and very helpful. What a solid team yet fun. Great job Dragon Dive, will come back for sure and keep your amazing staffs, crews and instructors. 10/10 diving experience with Dragon Dive!!!

Went diving with Dragon Dive about a month ago and it was such a great experience! I reached out to them late in the evening and despite my poor planning they were still able to get me a spot on the diving trip the next day. The staff were so sweet and helpful throughout the day, and it was great having both breakfast and lunch included on the boat. I had booked a discovery dive ( my first dive ever) and the diving instructor Sarah (the Sarah with tattoos) was amazing - she was super professional and made it a really fun and safe experience. Many thanks to the entire team, I can definitively recommend them to anyone looking to go diving in Komodo :)

We joined the Shenron liveaboard. Incredible diving and very professional dive crew – we felt safe and well taken care of underwater. Unfortunately, the condition of the boat was far below expectations. Our cabin was dirty, moldy, and even dangerous (sink fell off, cockroaches, water leaks). No AC during the day or final night despite 30°C+ heat. For the price (€400/night/person), we expected much more. Amazing diving, but the boat needs serious improvement.

I loved diving with Dragon Dive! The staff is amazing - always smiling and happy to help - and the resort is beautiful. I did multiple daily dive trips and loved each of them. The briefings were really well done and thanks to the guides I saw lots of amazing animals underwater, from tiny pygmy seahorses up to manta rays. Furthermore, I always felt safe and in good hands. Between the dives we got delicious snacks and lunch on the boat. Thanks to everyone at DDK for this great experience. I can 100% recommend Dragon Dive and would always go diving with them again.

The best diving center in Labuan Bajo! I completed my Open Water certification here, and it was truly a magical experience I will never forget. My instructor, Sarah, was exceptional — she taught us everything we needed to know with such clarity and patience that I always felt safe and confident every time I entered the water. The center itself is also a wonderful place to stay. Jerry and Felix gave us such a warm welcome and were incredibly helpful throughout our time there. The boats were in excellent condition and made our three days of diving even more enjoyable and comfortable. Whether you’re looking to get your PADI certification or simply want to have fun diving (as was the case for my husband), this place is a no-brainer. Thank you to the entire team — you are amazing! I truly hope to come back one day.
