We visited Dragonette on 10/26. The whole experience was well-planned and executed. Kevin walked us through the soil, pressing process, and various wines bottled by Dragonette. He shared the history of the company. Our conversations during the wine tasting were delightful, and we ended up selecting the MJM bottle. The professionalism of this company is commendable, and the credit goes to the owners.

I’m overdue to jot a few notes on our visit to Dragonette back in May. I had been only once before and that was nearly 10 years ago but I remember liking it so we stopped in for a tasting. As I had hoped, the wines at the tasting were all to our liking. Just as important was the leisurely pace of the time we enjoyed the wines. We sat on the porch and it was wonderful weather and a great way to pass the time. Key to our tasting experience though was the service and excellent descriptions and insights shared by our server, David. He was great! He really knows his stuff. Not just the Dragonette wines but the region in general.

Google
WOW! We did the sit down tasting at the study, it did not disappoint. Adam was a wonderful host! My mom is in the industry and has a good amount of knowledge about wine and Adam had the knowledge to answer all of our questions plus offer up more info about wines, their history, how they’re made etc. Thank you so much for the hospitality Adam! The wines were absolutely amazing so we had to grab more than a few.

Google
Best winery from Santa Maria to Santa Yenez to Los Olivos, east, north and south. The staff at the tasting room is amazing and passionate. I couldn’t be more excited about a wine and its future than that of Dragonette Winery.

Jason Muriel

Google
Great wines, nice little simple tasting room. Been drinking their wines for years and they always have some great options. Nice knowledgeable staff.

Chiara Gallo

Google
Great experience. We had a wonderful tasting moment at Dragonette . We loved the stories behind the wines and our preference are for the Syrah! Highly recommended

Mary Jo Creamer

Google
Love, love, love this boutique winery. All of their wines have such a complex, nurtured, well balanced flavors. Everyone we have met, so far, that work/own Dragonette have such passion for what they do. My favorite wines!!

Joseph Miller

Google
Amazing wines and Kevin took great care of us. Highly recommend!

Yelp
David is an amazing wine educator! We've enjoyed Dragonnette Wines previously, but this time, he really helped us appreciate these wonderful wines. Great tasting room and tasting experience. We purchased a bunch of wines to enjoy at home. Thanks David! PS don't be put off by the woman who also works there; she was rather gruff and unwelcoming, telling us "we don't serve wine at the counter, pick some place else". Okay then. Luckily, David's friendly demeanor quickly fixed the mood.

Yelp
While on a girls trip we went wine tasting at several wineries and Dragonette stood out by far. The service and kindness of the staff and the knowledge of the regions of where the grapes were grown surpassed some of our other experiences. Los Olivios is such a cute town with lots of wine options, I would put Dragonette on the top of the list.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
First time to this wine tasting room and so glad that I did it. The wines were delicious especially their Pinot Noir. The service was great and attentive as well. Will return in the future.

Ellen L.

Yelp
The worst wine tasting place ever. They pushed us sit out door under the heat even they have tables inside. We brought a puppy maybe that's why? Not good place for puppy and ppl.

Bridgette W.

Yelp
Always one of my favorite stops! The wine is amazing. Sarah is a fantastic addition to serve & provide the background of the wine.

Leah V.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! Kevin was so kind and friendly as he served my wine tasting. Winery was clean and atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Would definitely go back!

Stephanie E.

Yelp
If you love earthy Pinots, crisp, dry Rose, Syrah, Grenache or Sauvignon Blanc, then you'll love their wines. The wine pourers are incredibly knowledgeable, down to earth and friendly. We've been members for 10 years and never had a bad experience. If you join the wine club, they let you swap out the wines and let you revisit during your tasting. Nick, Kevin, Sarah and David make the wine tasting experience so special.

Cam M.

Yelp
David is your guy! Very knowledgeable and great customer service. He taught me quite a bit and made me feel welcome at the establishment. Would definitely come back here and request him for the hospitality and information!

Mari T.

Yelp
Second time at this wine tasting store front. We last came here over 2 1/2 years ago. Love the town of Los Olivos. It's changed quite a bit over the yearsThere are a variety of stores and wine tasting places to try. Dragonette has an indoor and outdoor area. This winter day was a bit chilly so we chose to sit indoors. We brought our own charcuterie and was able to enjoy it with our wine tastings. My daughter's new puppy was also allowed to be with us so that was a nice added bonus. We tried a variety of pinots and some white wines including a chardonnay. The host was very knowledgeable and helpful in helping us choose our wines.

Kimberley C.

Yelp
This wine tasting was the best and most informative of the bunch. They had a map to explain the different AVAs and how their location etc affect the grapes, and their Pinots were top notch. They're dog friendly too!

Jon A.

Yelp
Great wine, great and knowledgeable servers and some truly amazing Pinot Noir. We will definitely be back!

Erin O.

Yelp
We absolutely loved the wine and service for the tastings we had today. Dave, our host, was so kind and well informed about the wines. He made our experience just lovely. We loved it so much that we joined the wine club!

Caleb A.

Yelp
Wow. What an amazing tasting. Incredible, nuanced wines. Simple tasting room, you won't be blown away by the venue, however ask for Kevin and let him take you on a journey of intricate wines and geographical education. The pinot noirs and syrahs were the crowd favorite for our group. Come for the best wine in the area, and stay for Kevin's knowledge and hospitality! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
After hearing praises from friends and local wineries we thought it is time to check them out. We visited on a a relatively non busy Tuesday and were welcomed by the team. The grapes are sourced from different vineyards and the team size is small. Despite that their wines pack a punch. They have lovely whites and reds which cater to different palettes. I personally prefer the Pinots and the Syrahs. Would definitely go back as the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and have lovely wines. Outdoor and indoor seating. It was not very busy when we went but they did not bat an eye with my initially crabby toddler who fell asleep. Highly recommend!

H T.

Yelp
We came in to just have a glass of wine and it wasn't busy but the gentleman said that there wasn't any room. We told him that we would just stand then and just wanted to try their wine. He was just adamant that he could not serve us. There was plenty of space and we promised we would be in and out but he said adamantly that there was no room when there was room. And when he said there would be no tables, we again said we didn't need one as we saw people standing with a glass of wine. It was obvious that he did not want to service us, and it's ashame. Every winter has been great. Folding Hills and Clifton have been great. I would pass on Dragonette for poor customer service.

Debbie T.

Yelp
Loved the Sauvignon Blanc. I'm told it is aged in both stainless steel but also oak, giving it a rich flavor.

Claire G.

Yelp
We visited the tasting room in los Olivos on a rainy day and we were not disappointed. We tasted through their white wines and great rosé winding up with some of their Pinots.... And everything was absolutely delicious! So well balanced & round. The chards & Rose' had great acidity & would pair perfectly with so many foods. There was not one wine I would not have purchased. The tasting experience was personable, and our server was so knowledgeable about all the nuances and qualities present in their wines. Bonus, your tasting fee is waived when you purchase a minimum of three bottles, which in our case was no problem! Cheers

Richie D.

Yelp
After hearing all the locals sing praises about Dragonette, we were finally able to check it out for ourselves. Previously we had attempted several times to just "stop in," however, their space is limited and were always turned down. I booked this time well in advance via the Tock app as the first tasting of the day. Nick welcomed us in and sat us at one of a few tables inside. He was extremely knowledgeable about wine and has been in the industry for quite some time. We tossed recommendations and thoughts back and forth regarding our favorite wineries and varietals within Santa Barbara County and beyond. Great conversations were had. All of the wines that we tasted were good. Not a mediocre wine in the bunch. While truthfully I am not a big fan of lighter bodied wines--which of course the Santa Ynez Valley is known for--I still enjoyed myself. We tasted their Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Dragonette grows their own grapes on various properties throughout the area that "jive" with their organic ideals. These included several of my favorite vineyards in the area--Grassini, Grimm's Bluff and Sanford, to name a few. Our group of three appreciated the wines here and would recommend them as a starting point for your wine tasting adventures. It is all about the wine here, not really the tasting room itself.

Glydia C.

Yelp
Delicious wines, all of them. We shared a tasting very early in the morning, before lunch. The man serving the tasting was knowledgeable.

Michael N.

Yelp
Thanks Blake for a great afternoon wine tasting. One of the best local wineries in the area, never disappointed with everything we tried and took home a great additions to the collection . See you soon Mike

Yelp
We had only two days in the Santa Ynez region and a local recommended that we do the top level tasting at Dragonette, which you can only book through their website and costs $25 vs. the $15 at their tasting room. For the personal tasting, you are brought to their production facility which is basically a cement warehouse on Industrial Way in Buellton. We mistakenly thought it would be located at a picturesque vineyard where grapes were grown ... imagine our surprise when our uber dropped us off at a metal corrugated building located next to an auto garage and drop shipping warehouse! It was no matter because once inside we were treated to the best personalized tasting experience we had during our trip. The young woman who lead our party of 3 through a tasting was fantastic ... she knew not only everything about the brand's wines but also gage us some fabulous suggestions on the next stops we should make, including a picturesque vineyard where grapes were grown named Koehler. All of her advice was spot on across the board. I am no expert in wine but have visited wineries in Napa, Sonoma, Long Island and Lodi, so I can get the basics down. Speaking of the basics, you get to taste a more upper-level wine by doing this personal tasting than you would at the $15 tasting room, I believe, including their outstanding Syrah which is grown using grapes from the Santa Ynez Valley outpost of Screaming Eagle! It was the best Syrah I have ever tasted and I kick myself for not buying a bottle for $65. It was the best wine we tried in Santa Ynez valley. Even better than their MJM, which is their flagship $80 version, which was also given to us at the tasting room. Unfortunately, we did not get to taste their Black Label Pinot Noir, which is produced in very limited numbers. Maybe next time as I will certainly bring others back to this experience the next time we are in the area. You cannot go wrong doing the personal tasting for only $10 more than the tasting room with many others ... unless you are going to Los Olivos to get a bunch of tastings in at once. Buellteon is not too far from Los Olivos but it's a bit out of the way and the wines you'll try in the tasting room will probably be pretty good to great as Dragonette seems to know what they are doing. The only thing I'd have a small gripe about is that they send you confirmation emails for the tour which are generated by robot. However, they welcome any questions about the tasting or wines on the form. I asked a few questions via email which went unanswered. Small issue because the young woman at the tasting was so knowledgable and had a fantastic personality. I would recommend to anyone unfamiliar with the Santa Ynez wine region to book Dragonette's production facility tasting in Buellton first and then use that as a basis for other tastings as your 'wine steward' there will be a great guide to other wineries in the area. Also a suggestion I'd have for anyone visiting the area is ... don't hesitate to buy wines you like on the spot. We had limited luggage space so we thought we would do tastings at the wineries, select the best 3 bottles and then each bring those back with us. We ran out of time and did not get a chance to go back and buy our favorite bottles and many of the wineries sell them at their tasting room but not through retail channels. I missed the chance to buy a bottle at Dragonette which I enjoyed due to timing. Luckily I did get another vintage from Dragonette at the Los Olivos wine store, which was open later than the tasting rooms. Though I didn't get to visit Fiddlehead or Flying Goat which have pretty impressive reviews, Dragonette had the best wine of the 9 wineries we visited/tasted at. The experience was a highlight of our trip.

Dave K.

Yelp
Great experience doing a flight with Kevin. Nice location, great wines. My current intel says this and Brewer-Clifton are best Pinot tasting here and we've got a few more yet to try. Flight refunded after buying 2-3 bottles of wine. All good.

Michael T.

Yelp
If you care at all about the wine itself when visiting Los Olivos, you have to be selective. It's a town made up over between 50-100 tasting rooms, so it's a wonderful day of wine tasting. But of course, if you're drinking responsibly, there's only so many you can hit in a day so you need to be selective and knowing where to go can be overwhelming. I highly recommend you put Dragonette Cellars on your short list of tasting rooms to hit up. They have a super hip vibe about them that has a lot of folks talking. I was a bit worried at first that the name was some type of gimmick (as wines with gimmicky names are ALWAYS bad)... but worry not as it's actually their last name! They have a small crew here who is REALLY passionate about their wine and truly felt like a family. That really means something to me. Let's face it... wine making is a rich man's sport, so it's really off putting when you have vineyards who you can tell just treat the their staff like the help... and here appears to be quite the opposite where the staff has as much pride in the brand as the owners. In fact, they are actually a part of the wine making for one of their bottles! I have to be honest... that goes a long way in the overall positive vibe of this place. It was a pleasure to be in there! We were attended to by not one, but several staff members and they were all fantastic. And the wine was high quality too! Definitely top five of Los Olivos tasting rooms, so I'd put them on your short list. I have the feeling like they're on the rise as well...

Irma Z.

Yelp
If you are here in Los Olivos CA stop by this wine tasting room. I was here in September, I bit warm but a great day to do a bit of tasting. Amazing tasting flight. Kevin was a wonderful host! Enjoyed his knowledge of the area and his knowledge in the wines he was pouring. The rose and Pinot were really good. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely come back with my friends and family to have them experience a good tasting.

Eleya A.

Yelp
The staff was fantastic and adjusted tastings to our preferred wines so each of us had a totally unique experience. Their best wines are a bit on the pricy side but they had interesting notes throughout.

Laura V.

Yelp
Lovely reserved tasting here with knowledgeable pourer. Really enjoyed our visit and the wines. Appreciated info on the growing areas as well. Seated outside with view of street on a porch

Mary A.

Yelp
We had an amazing tasting experience at Dragonette and would love to visit again someday. The wines were some of the best we tasted over our weekend stay and the servers could not have been more friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Also really appreciated when one of the owners stopped by for a fun chat with us. Highly recommend making a reservation and enjoying this gem!!

Billie S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our wine tasting at Dragonette. Sarah, our server, was delightful, helpful and friendly. She appears to love her job, smiling from ear to ear during our entire visit. All the wines were delicious! Cute tasting room.

Meagan R.

Yelp
Excellent Service & the BEST wine! We could have bought every bottle from our tasting because each were just as delicious! Also love the ambiance with the horses cruising by.

Cassie C.

Yelp
I had heard great rumors of how amazing Dragonette pinot was, and after unsuccessfully locating it at my usual wine shops, stumbled upon their cellar room while visiting the area. The tasting is offered at around $20, and pours are generous. We visited on a HOT day and the staff were super friendly in offering up lots of water and not being pushy at all for us to leave. We sampled around six wines (I think it was a Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, two pinots, and a Syrah?). I ended up loving the Santa Rita Hills pinot - it's their most basic pinot, but I felt it was great value for the price. Overall very high quality wine for the tasting fee - being accustomed to $$$ price tags in Napa, I came out of this tasting quite happy with what I spent! Staff was also super generous in offering an additional pour at the end to help me decide what I wanted to buy. Excellent experience overall!

Laura C.

Yelp
Amazing service, great wines that you to Blake. Loved our experience. Highly recommend.

Nicholas C.

Yelp
Visited awhile back. Nice clean tasting room and friendly staff. Actually, one of the best tastings I've experienced in terms of quality of staff and dialogue. My 2 stars is namely for the wine itself. I've visited a few other wineries in the area, joy fantastic is one that utterly smokes this winery by a mile. Frankly I've never experienced a winery that's had such a huge disconnect in the quality of wine and the price. $50+ for a granache is just utterly ridiculous. I jumped on the radian Pinot years back during Covid when I could not get into the tasting room and was completely in disbelief with the high scores from reviewers. Upon sampling various styles there was not a single wine where I felt like the prices were justified. The reserve Pinot valued at ~$90 I've found equivalent of not better pinots at less than half the price. I understand this is a low production boutique operation but there's no justifying the lofty prices for mediocre wine.

Mike H.

Yelp
We've studied wine and done tastings all over the U.S. and abroad for decades, including multiple trips to Santa Barbara County. Our stop at Dragonette was one of the most fun, relaxed, and informative yet! Our host, Blake, grew up in the area and has worked in the biz for years. It showed. He took his time as he walked us through their world-class juice. Ample, side by side pours of the different varietals, so we could make our own comparisons as Blake unfolded the story of Dragonette and their wines. Lots of off the list stuff. Outside patio. Perfect weather. Spring weekday. Unhurried. Phenomenal customer service. A really well-designed and professionally executed wine tasting experience. Yes, both couples joined the wine club. Thanks, Blake, for a really fun afternoon - you killed it!

Sue C.

Yelp
The tasting was very enjoyable. Excellent service by David. The tasting room is inviting and comfortable.

Jasmin C.

Yelp
Tried to go for a tasting at 4:30pm and the sign said closed. Soooo maybe update your hours thanks.

Kale B.

Yelp
We had a wonderful tasting, and after a few times up in Los Olivos I can say that top to bottom this is my favorite wine. Sure, there are some highlights elsewhere, but every wine we had at Dragonette interesting, complex, and very drinkable. Not a dud or even a "meh" in the bunch. Megan met us on EASTER SUNDAY morning 9AM and walked us through a wonderful flight. Not sure what that says about our group, but Dragonette was ready to deliver. I had zero intention of becoming a wine club member... maybe ever, more of a beer man myself, but I walked out of there with 3 bottles and a promise of more to come later in the mail. When I got home from a wine country trip I typically have one or two bottles of wine that immediately spark a little buyers remorse when I pull them out of my bag, but the Black label Pinot Noir from Dragonette had me day dreaming about what amazing meal I was going to pair it with.

Kay C.

Yelp
Had my first tasting experience with Dragonette, and was super impressed. Since our group consisted of some wine industry folks, the technical info was enough but not too much. Kevin was friendly, super knowledgeable and helpful, plus he shared a couple off-menu options. Delicious and interesting wines, all organic and some bio-dynamic. Delicious!

Tana'ya D.

Yelp
My visit was late Monday evening, however our host was phenomenal. I'm awful with names but believe his name was Nic! He took his time with the tasting and I never felt rushed. Nic was pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. I learned more from here than any other winery. He provided context based on region and grape growing across several time periods. Among my favorites were the Pinot Noir Rita Hills and Radian. The Sauv Blanc was delicious as well.

Dylan M.

Yelp
So I first went to a tasting at a tasting room I was oh so familiar with but wanted to get some of the local small batch options while in town. I asked them if they had one options other than their own to hit for an out of town where would it be. They directed me here and I have to say it was a 5 star recommendation. It's a smaller small batch family owned vineyard that you won't be able to easily find three wines unless you come here or join their wine club. The 2 Pinot noirs I had where some of the best I have ever had and I have had a LOT. The Sauvignon blanc and their newly bottled rose were also very tasty. Defiantly make a effort to hit their tasting room you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend: 2013 sta rita hills Pinot noir 2013 duvarita Pinot noir

Annette B.

Yelp
I was referred to Dragonette by the wine curator at Paradise Pantry in Ventura. I looked them up online and saw many positive reviews so my friend and I took off for Los Olivos. What a great experience we had. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. Nick brought our wines to us and was informative and interesting, and gave us plenty of time to savor the wines he poured. My friend and I both bought a bottle of Syrah that day. Can't wait to drink it and also can't wait to go back to Dragonette the next time I'm in Los Olivos.

Cassandra Y.

Yelp
The Service: Friendly service. However, especially we had been to a few wine tasting room already so didn't feel that attentive. The Tasting Room: Small tasting room. There is one community table for seating. Very simple decoration in this tasting room. The Parking: Street parking in front of the tasting room

Holly T.

Yelp
This wine tasting place was the best! The employees were so knowledgeable and so friendly. It was our 1st stop on our wine tasting tour and it was the best experience! The Fiddlestix Pinot was so good!!!

Galey C.

Yelp
Had an incredible experience here today. Staying in Solvang with my partner for the weekend and couldn't recommend stopping here more! Had the best experience with amazing wine expert, Sarah. Was so nice and so knowledgeable. The place is lucky to have Sarah!!!

Leah G.

Yelp
Blake was awesome and the wines were quite a find. I'm not always a big fan of tasting rooms, but this was absolutely wonderful! Will definitely be on my itinerary for the next visit.

Marlene G.

Yelp
We visited Dragonette on Tuesday and I don't know where to start! Blake did an outstanding job of answering all of our questions and telling us the background of the winery, wines, and grapes. He was so knowledgeable without being overbearing! The wines were fabulous. Their chardonnay was the best I tasted over the the 3 days we were visiting Solvang. It was smooth, buttery, and just plain yummy! I didn't think I was a fan of Rose but their rose was delicious, even my husband who doesn't like Rose really loved it. Also, I believe their Syrah was one of the top Syrah's I tasted over the 3 day visit. Needless to say, the visit to Dragonette was one of the highlights of our visit to Solvang.

Flora H.

Yelp
I've had Dragonette on my list FOREVER because a former boss who knows wine told me that if I like Santa Barbara pinots, I have to try Dragonette. When we arrived (after driving 30 minutes out of the way just to get here) they tried to turn us away, saying they had no clean glasses. When we protested and said that we would just be sharing a tasting, they obliged, and when I started talking about wine they quickly admitted that they had unfairly judged us (5 girls) when we walked in, and apologized. I was impressed with the admission, so I take no points off for the judgment (I mean, who can blame them?). I loved two of the reds that we tasted here, but of course they were the $70+ bottles. Definitely worth a stop if you are serious about your reds.

Christie C.

Yelp
This was our first stop on a private wine tour with Sustainable Wine Tours (highly recommend!) Luckily, we were warned about the location we were traveling to - not a picturesque rolling vineyard, but instead, an industrial complex with the simple logo above the door. We were greeted by Steve, who took my husband and I through their facility, and explained all aspects of their wine making and production. Not only was the experience super educational, but it was enlightening as well. I've been an "anything but Chardonnay" girl my entire life, but Steve quickly changed my mind after tasting their versions of Chardonnay. I liked them so much, I left with yet another wine club membership. Their Pinot Noir was out of this world!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Excellent wine but more than the wine Nick took us through the history of each wine and it was incredible. I would highly recommend this cellar not only for the wine, the history, the customer service and genuine staff they have. Can't wait to go back!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Dragonette is outstanding! They are super dog and family friendly and have a beautiful tasting room. Everyone there is very friendly and approachable and their knowledge is incredible. The wines are deliciousness - so much so that we joined the wine club which has also been great! They are very generous with the tastings and always offer you the chance to revisit a wine if you feel you want to taste again before buying. I read an older review regarding the tasting fees/sneaky bills and I have to disagree. They couldn't be more customer driven.
