Drake General Store

Located in the basement of the Bay, it’s easy to miss this branch of the Drake General Store. Smaller selection than other branches, but still cute and good for gifts.

As stated by others, we also had a horrible experience with returning items. Their size chart for dog onsies is not accurate. Also, I did not like the scent of the candle. So, we shipped back all the items purchased because according to their website "We always hope that you love everything in your order, but if you're unsatisfied for any reason with any of the items you received, we’re more than happy to offer a refund". I was only given a partial refund as they claim that the candle was not in the package yet I returned everything in the same box as was sent to me. It has been more than two months now and I have followed up repeatedly but still no answer. I will never shop with them again which is unfortunate as they were a local store and carried many Canadian-based products.

I loved shopping here when they had a store on West Queen West. The shop was so well-curated and the staff was great. The new online experience is terrible. I placed an order 27 days ago, to be delivered within the GTA, and I have yet to receive it. Customer service is no help. Please bring back the stores to avoid situations like this.

Had a fantastic experience ordering online to send a gift to a friend! Carlo was able to input a custom note and made it hand written which was an incredible touch! Thank you Carlo and the Drake General Store team!

The only option to exchange or refund is via mail atm and at the customer’s expense. I don’t think the customer should be responsible for this added expense just because stores are currently closed. If they were open, I’d gladly return it there. I even offered to drive on-site to avoid paying for the return label and that was also turned down. Overall, terrible customer experience. I’d encourage people to look elsewhere for gifts in case they need to be refunded or exchanged.

Very unique and high quality store, right under Hudson Bay's, but way too expensive. You can get most products elsewhere for less.

Everytime I come here, I find the merchandise lack Lustre and expensive. If yiur passing by sure take a look. But don't make a special trip just to check it out

Love shopping at the Drake General Store in Toronto. Wonderful selection of unique items....great quality! Their onesies are iconic! Fast shipping. Wonderful customer service. Super cute store that brings good vibes as you check out cool Canadiana gear. It's a warm and cozy store. They sell very warm onesies and long johns by Arborist, cute enamel pins, nice scarves and tuques. They have kitchen wear and greeting cards. They have generally a lot of stuff in the general store. They of course have an online store so check it out.

Drake General Store is one of those stores that hipsters flock to for an overpriced Moleskin, vintage salt shaker, or an adult onsie. What's unique about this store is there's a single seat in the back for people to get their haircut. So random! Despite the prices, it's an interesting shop to window shop. It's also in the cool neighborhood of West Queen West.

I like the selection of kitsch here. I saw the Snoopy sno cone contraption and was immediately thrown back to childhood. I wanted one of those!!! If you take your time to browse around, I'm sure you'll find some cool gifts for those hard-to-buy-for people in your lives. Dare I use the term "hipster-y"?

I stopped in here while visiting Toronto. All I bought was a bookmark, but I did find a cute Cookie Monster/Royal Canadian Mounted Police shirt, the store just didn't have it in the size I needed. I ended up buying the shirt online from www.drakegeneralstore.ca when I returned home. (FYI it was a bit of a slow process to get my order sent to the U.S. - took over two weeks..). I also liked some Toronto Blue Jays shirt designs, but unfortunately didn't think they would be a good gift for anyone I know. I like that the shop has a nice mix of stuff from Canadian artists, plus international brands as well.

A great spot for finding unique gift and household items for those gift recipients who have everything. I appreciate the variety of made-in-Canada items available here. I got a simple and rustic marble and wood cheese board with a marble pinch pot for a friend from here which was very well received. The customer service is spot-on and very helpful. They'll help you navigate the range of curated items to come up with a fun gift set. Complimentary gift-wrapping provided on-site, too.

Nice, unique merchandise, but the older woman tending this shop can be rude.
